Is it also true there’s a dye module cartel market item? I don’t remember it being in the patch notes, but the claim was just made on reddit.
yes indeed, havn’t had time to add them in yet.
Thanks Dulfy! But I wonder how many people actually want an orange/red or green/yellow color combination…
People who want to roleplay being the Queen of Thorns … in space!
Bleh, sort of annoyed that the Collector’s Edition dyes can be traded. Thanks for the exclusive Bioware!
Bleh is right, unless you’re a packers fan or a Jedi.
Bite me. As a collector I am thrilled I can sell these above cost because not everyone has access to them
For what? Less than the vendor cost because everyone and their mother has them up on the GTN?
Nahh, he’s probably thrown them up there at 20-30k…which means no one will buy them.
I asked on the forum – them not being exclusive was a mistake. To make up for it, they’re going to give us an additional dye that is, indeed, exclusive.
Huzzah!
I would like them to have remained exclusive.
Is it me, or did the designers get hold of the NFL guide to team colors and just copy those?
I was thinking the exact same thing but with the NBA
WOOHOO!
The Voss Schematic only takes 350 Artifice!
Not all the Dye Schematics will use the exact same components!!!!
=D
Can the dyes from the cartel market be traded?
Kinda off-topic Dulfy, but what skirt did you used to model the colors? And now for on-topic, what sort of mats are we looking at for the Artifice dye-modules?
Yes, I’m trying to figure out what outfit she used to model the dyes, I like it a lot. Anyone know? Trying to skim all the comments to see if this has been answered but no luck yet.
It is the life day outfit from the cartel market. Might be only available near Life Day or on the GTN if you are lucky
Thanks! Appreciate the response!
Why not one for the Gree vender? 🙁
Because the Gree already have a ton of cool stuff (Legacy gear/Legacy Weapons/Mount etc.) and most people already have a decent amount of rep (if not Legend) with them.
This way they make people go out and grind rep for less popular factions.
Do I like this set up? No. Is that the way the devs made it? Yes.
The Gree only get new stuff when they return. Which is going to be soon. I’d expect something then.
Are we stuck with these combinations? Dont we have a choice to combine different modules together?
Can’t combine.
Just to clarify. The Schematic from the rep vendors. Is the Schematic BOL or is the Dye itself BOL?
Schematic is BOL
As expected – only ugly combinations. It is the big fail I expected. BioWare ist still BioWare, they can’t do anything right,
It would appear I can’t ‘downvote’ you because it requires me to ‘log in’, however I should point out that
1. As of the time you posted, 10 out of 48 dye modules were previewed here, so your post is either short sighted or massively disingenuous (I suspect the later)
2. Many of the dye modules are primary or secondary only, so find a piece of armor with a primary or secondary that goes well with one of those and create your own color combination without worrying about the design team’s color-matching job.
In fact, you could combine single-dye-modules (primary/secondary) and unify to chestpiece to do some interesting things with colors. In fact, depending on how unify to chestpiece interacts with dyes, you might even be able to “rip” single colors from color pairs and combine them single dye mods on other armor pieces.
You make some valid points, but what I think the original poster is frustrated at is that they could have implemented dyes in a way that is easier, and with more customization, while at the same time being just as profitable as “gambling” packs.
One such way would be to just have a color pallet open up when you go to modify the dye kit on your piece of gear. You can then mix and match any of thousands of colors an color gradients within the “preview window” until you are satisfied. At which point if you want to actually change the color of your gear you have to pay Cartel Coins.
I have a feeling that this would have made people happier with the customization system than they seem to be currently.
I, for one, would have loved to see it implemented this way. For me, a patch titled “Customization” that has only 48 color changes available (from all sources) within a video game that uses millions of colors is just fail.
No, I think the original poster was just calling the 10 dye modules that were up there ugly.
I think the complaint you make is *your* complaint.
You are wrong. Please don’t think about what I thought. Read what I write.
And when we know all color sombinations – you will see I am right. We now know about 50% of the colors… and take a look how awful they are!
I think you are just hating on Bioware because you don’t have anything better to do. Your post makes it clear that whatever Bioware does, you will hate it simply because it’s Bioware who made it.
But first of all they are just the start, they need to check out how the system works with the players, what colors they want to do just that.
Second it’s not a full patch, but some cartell markt subpatch. So you can’t really expect a full patch either.
The only big fail in the room, is you!
Thanks for putting these up so early!
Got on Dye Module Pack off the CM. It contained:
– White/Deep Green; Not bad looking, green isn’t a favorite of mine but still looked alright.
– Blue/Brown – WTF? Looked awful.
Sorry no screen caps. I’m at work and I don’t have time to mess around (SWTOR grinds my work machine to a crawl)
You mean that you have to have Reputation and Artifice at a certain level to craft some of the colors? That doesn’t make sense. I thought that you would have to have 450 Artifice, since that sort of made sense and grinded that up this weekend. Now, I have to grind rep to get the schematics to be able to make them.
Also, the fact that you have to gamble with the dye packs in the cartel market make this another real problem for me. I really love this game, but they title a patch customization and then make it harder for you to customize.
I thank you Dulfy for your work and getting everything to make it easy on us though.
Only one dye is exclusive to each rep vendor. There is about 20 some dyes you learn to craft from the trainer for your skill.
I actually rather like the rep requirement. It gives those of us who are crafting oriented an incentive to go out there and do something.
Hoops to jump through are good, as long as they are reasonable (and none of that content really requires end-game gear). Games are made of hoops.
Wow. Great reasoning.
“They need reputation? That totally does make no sense because i don’t have any reputation” is a really good arguement.
It makes sense. because that way you actually have to earn something instead of getting everything thrown after you with cartell coins or for credits.
You can learn a number of them, at various skill levels, from your trainer
When I trained the artifice dyes from the trainer on the Imperial fleet I didn’t get the medium purple, only dark. Image below of what I could train (list wise at least)
Kinda disappointed with the color combinations so far. Except for some black/black i saw some guy link, most of them are ugly. The collector system is a letdown too, you can only transfer a piece from collections to your inventory if you have a whole set? And if you want just a chest/glove, you gotta transfer a whole set and then delete what you don’t want? Lame.
anyone find anything with a black PRIMARY? Preferable with a red or a goldyellow?
Dulfy, you have 46 dyes listed in the links at the top of this page. Any idea where the last 2 are? (There was supposed to be 48 dyes IIRC).
I thought I might toss this in here just so people know. Preferred players pay 6,250 credits for the ones listed as 5,000 credits (CE and Security Key vendors); not sure what free players pay since I’ve never been a free player. Crafting schematics from the rep vendors and crafting vendor are the same price.
I saw some dude in the fleet sellin White/balck and Black/White modules
I got a White/White one. Those can’t be sold for 36 hours though until the timer wears off.
Can’t wait to see what people are going to try and get for those.
And the greebliest color is on the CE vendor. YAY!
Er, are there going to be more dyes…? :S
Hello! I understand that this is totally unrelated, but if anyone gets the repulsorlift to either of the GSI speeders, I am very willing to trade for it. it’s the last piece I need, and I am able to trade doubles for it. you can find me at : Harbinger server : my republic characters are Ultrascout and Obi’quiet(alt+0244 for the O) , and my imperial characters are Ultratank and Jairis. thank you!
What happens if I were to take a chestplate with the pink/purple dye kit on it and then have revan pants on and hit unify? Like I know i can’t specifically dye lore armor but can i match it?
Yes. And you can preview that before doing it.
so would it turn pink then? the revan pants that is
You’ll have to preview it to see exactly how it turns out. Some of these pieces have more than 2 colors. But, yes, you can unify match Revan’s stuff….you could already do that before 2.1 launched.

Black/Black
thank you 🙂
what chest piece is shown here ?
xenotech weaponmaster
Can someone confirm a drop post 2.0?
I can confirm xenotech items and recipes still drop in 2.0 but like black hole gear I have only seen it drop in Karagga’s Palace. The big reason no one sees it, is due to the items being BOP and the recipes only create BOP items, which are cool designs.
is it still available ingame ? drop from karagga normal right ?
No it got removed I think
The style is very similar to the reward for End of Torvix daily in Black Hole, at least the Sith Jugg reward.
hey m8, what are the boots ure wearing here?
Theyre the Black-Hole ones, from the old Lv.50 gear, which you can still get from lv.50 FPs
cheers,
thanks a lot
Can you please tell us the items in this set, or provide AskMrRobot links? Looks mad. Would love to know each piece 🙂
And yeah…Black on Black rocks
White/White
Cartel coins on the white/white black/black?
200CC with only a chance to get it, unfortunately… I assume that it’s one of the rarest dye combinations…
Am I missing something or are there only 18 crafted dyes and not 20 as mentioned in the Q&A?
White/White
I’m sure I’m going to have to pay millions for my marauder to look like this (I already have that chest, just need the dye). So sad.
Both chest and pants are from the Xenotech set and hence not available anymore (pre 2.0 loot from Karragga’s Palace)
Yeah Sheb, I have the Xenotech Chest on my Marauder. I got it from Story Mode Lost Island as a drop off of the last boss. I’m pretty sure he drops it still (post 2.0). I use the Eradicator’s pants and they look great with this set, so I’m not sad I don’t have the Xenotech pants.
I doubt that it still drops after 2.0 because the minimum loot at 50s FPs in NHC is 61 gear. I’ve tried it today in “Battle for Ilum”.
What is NHC? And are we talking about 50s Hard Mode FPs or just 50s FPs (Story Mode). I know they changed all the gear drops for Hard Mode 50 flashpoints, but I never heard anything about Story Mode.
NHC means non heroic aka story mode. But it seems that they changed it, as well. Maybe they bring the skin of the set back in the game one day. My marauder shiny white below… 😉
xenotech still drops from KP post 2.0 not sure about 2.1
What helmet is that Shebir?
[Prototype] Force Sentinel Headgear
So I can’t even go to the CM and buy a black dye? I have to buy gamble packs and hope the one I want drops?
Even I didn’t think Bioware could cock-up a dye system. I underestimated them.
Oh great. The red/black reputation one is an artifice schematic. That’s just awesome. I bet that artificers are goint to charge astronomical prices for it. I wouldn’t have minded it being a CM item because I have lots of CC piled up, but I’m not keen on shelling out two millions for a can of paint.
Not sure about anyone else, but once I can make it, I’ll charge a fair price for it, and I’ll make it for free if people provide the mats. Why make it more painful for folks than it needs to be?
LOL! Don’t you worry about people charging astronomical prices for it there scooter! Just give it a day or two and once the undercutting idiots get going you’ll be able to pick up whatever you want for a song…maybe a song AND a dance, but either way, it’l be cheap, I promise… ~thinks to self~ “Hmmm…I got 105k credits in mats to make this dye but ol’ Darth Joebob has it posted for 10k…9999! Create Sale!”
there is no Black/Red Dye there is no /Red Dye there is no Black/Blue Dye no /Blue Dye unless they’re extremely rare and hard to get… or most likely drop in flashpoints or ops… honestly everyone would of wanted Black/Red yet they failed to add it.
might wanna check out the section X rep vendor dude…might be surprised what you find…
no he wont black/red is not red/black
This dye system is 6 hours old. It’s not like these are the final colors available until the end of time. They’ll be adding to it.
no Black/Red should of been one of the first ones out along with /Red but no they gave us more crappy colors.
Pink Dye module + Relaxed Jumpsuit Jacket = ???
Black White (purple) from the Cartel Shop… http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v285/rank393/1d15fb26-0faf-4a78-8c37-67fdbed8fd78_zps459d85b5.jpg
curious what chest piece is that?
Protector’s (Makeb)
Anyone know if there’s a White-Black dye in the packs? Or white White-Purple? Or even White-Orange? (Not light orange from artifice)
Yes there is a white-black
Deep Pink and Deep Purple is a purple quality item, not a blue quality item. Have one in my possession.
thanks fixed
Dulfy… you’re amazing. I think that sums up the feelings of just about every single person that comes here. Thanks for all these great pics!
🙂
Pink-pink? No?! Need!!!
🙁
Died a little inside that they could not do a White Prim Blue Second so we could replicate the republic fleet soldier npcs. I was shocked they didn’t put a Gold like color for the C.E. vendor.
I was hoping to be able to recreate that as well, but no luck yet. I also wanted to do a version of the Voss-type Imperial Trooper, but I have not yet seen the right colours. I’m sure more colours will emerge as time goes on. It’s a decent start, but it could have been better.
It’s important to note that Voss has a strange copper colored light source on it that makes everything show up with a slight copper hue to it, its most noticeable on the Travel droid in Voss Ka that is the standard silver droid but looks copper.
Voss Imperial Troopers wear the same light grey armor that can be seen some places on Belsavis. Using the Primary Medium Gray module from Artifice on the white Makeb Reputation trooper armor is a fairly close match, and the Medium Gray/White Module would be even closer. Deep Gray/White would probably be perfect if it existed.
NOOOOOO only 1 pink the assholes
My only gripe with the Dye system is that the dyes are destroyed if you remove them, which means people will need to think long and hard before they insert a rare color into a piece of armor. I guess we’ll see how the aftermarket pricing (GTN) looks for some of the rare colors…
You can preview all the colors, so it should be easy enough to tell if you want it or not.
Unfortunately, i really wanted to change my color scheme every week. However, i cant really do that now that the dyes get destroyed. owell.
It’s very frustrating to me that they couldn’t just make Primary slot only and Secondary slot only versions of all the most basic primary and secondary colours (red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple). Giving us this obviously versatile system, while at the same time building in this convoluted (and often expensive) process for acquiring dye colours, is disingenuous at best. I rarely get aggravated with the development team, but this time I am irked.
Why oh Why did they exclude armor items from being able to dye them? you spend a crap load of credits to look the way you like and suddenly you find out that you can’t dye this or that because someone decided that this or that item should be excluded, so it’s either spend another sum of money to swap to a new piece of gear or just say screw it and stay with the un-dyed look
I’m a bit put out that the Triumvirate set can’t be dyed :/ The exact color scheme i want (the deep red and black) would make it the same colors as the Elite Sith Trooper armor from the original KOTOR games.
I thought everything could be dyed..? What is this!?
I’m mad the pink has to come with purple. I had to shop for clothes with little secondary because I looked like a freaking Easter egg
Here’s the Valiant Jedi Armor set with the Medium Brown-White dye.
Shebir dyes that you buy with credits where from?

🙁 I was hoping there would be both a Primary and a Secondary dye slot…that way you could make your own custom dyes. Or CAN you make your own custom dyes? If not, that would be amazing, if we could combine any primary to any secondary to make a custom two color dye
You can’t combine primary and secondary dyes unfortunately. You can only have the combinations that Bioware provided.
That is very disappointing. I had hoped the same thing as Foxeh said. I had assumed the armors would have either a primary, secondary or both slot on the armor as it sounded as if each armor would only be able to do one of the three choice but oh well. I wanted to really do some neat stuff with mixing stuff but as you said it’s only what they provide us which sucks.
Dulfy, any word on the last 2 Crafted Dyes? They should be the “Black/Red” and “Black/Blue” dyes (from the data dump). I posted these as a comment on you reddit thread advertising this page.
Would be nice if they were for the Gree and Cartel Reputation vendors…

It’s ok to say the dye system wasn’t very good. Don’t be a fanboy and say ‘it’s great’ just because you like the game, or the star wars franchise, it helps no one. Constructive criticism is a good thing (trust me) and this is the worst implementation of a dye system I’ve seen in a video game. It could have been a lot better.
I agree to an extent. I love Star Wars, I love SWTOR, I even love that I can customize colors now, but yeah, it needs improvement. I think the foundation is there with the modules, but maybe a primary and secondary slot in all gear, and then just make the dyes general purpose. So if I want black for primary, then stick a black in primary slot. Green for secondary? Stick a green in the secondary slot. None of this “this is primary only, this is secondary only, or only this specific color set.”

As far as the Artifice Trainer dyes go, the only one that I like the look of is the White and Light Orange one. Other than that I’ll stick to the Makeb, Voss and Section X dyes.
How does this help Artifice? When they screwed up Color crystals with the Cartel market, they impacted the profession in a negative way. Now Artifice can craft dyes’, but right out the gate, all of the best dyes are on the Cartel Market. This is just like the Crystal situation…
How are they going to resolve the issue? Add another aspect that will be beaten by the Cartel Market?
Perhaps make it so we can Dye color crystals and that we can craft every color in a single dye pack setting.

8 months have passed and black + black dyes haven’t become any cheaper. They include all the colors people actually want but make them so rare that it only caters to the rich and the lucky. Us average Sith can’t dress in black without spending weeks on dailies just for one chestpiece recolor. And if you want to get a new look going, you have to save up for yet another! Why couldn’t dyes just let us look how we want. It’s another thing to the game that simply keeps the lower players wanting and the rich ones rich.
Is the anyway to still get the white black or the black white dye without paying a stupid price for it?
No
There is also dark green plus medium green (versus the reverse)
Hmm havn’t seen a dark green and medium green dye module, only the medium green and dark green one
Yeah, there’s a Blue framed Dye Module with Dark Green (in the Primary slot) And Medium Green (in the Secondary slot) – see it and the reverse that’s listed on your site on the GTN quite often.
Primary Black Dye Module and Secondary Black Dye Module are also available from Binary Star Realty reputation vendor.
At legend ?
No, Newcomer rank for the secondary Black and Hero for the Primary Black.
I have a Secondary Dark Gray in my Trooper’s armor, where is that dye come from? I can’t find it on this list.
crafting
Nope, old gambling event packs.
primary gray is from Star Cluster’s Nightlife Pack
secondary gray is craftable
Is there anyway we can get black and black dyes apart from GTN? Saw the dyes on sale in CM but now its gone.
Where do you get the White and Medium Pink dye? They’re craftable but I cannot find the schematic. Not at the artifice trainer 🙁
Hi i saw your post on Dulfy to get that schematic it’s from the BBA Acquisition Officer for 50 completed contracts there are two schematics the other is Deep Brown/Deep Red dye.
Can i share Black and Black dye for other char’s?

I would like that they put some better colors to the Artifice crew skill, but well, at least we can have some that are really cool too 🙂
yo, when do you think the Black Black might be on sale again?

Unfortunate that the dye I want doesn’t exist anymore, they only sold secondary black in a pack that doesn’t exist anymore
You can buy it from a vendor in the Cartel Bazaar but you need rep for it.
is the Black Medium Yellow still in the collector vendor?
Where do you acquire the secondary deep blue module from? thanks : )
You can get it from one of the Cartel reputation vendors in the Cartel Bazaar, 20k for secondary deep red or blue and 30k for primary. These are dyes (not schematics), and they are Bind on Pickup. If you don’t have enough reputation, you can get lucky with a dye pack, or buy it on GTN from someone who was. 🙂
This list unfortunately doesn’t contain the Yavin IV rep vendor’s dark red/black and green/white schematics. The Yavin IV dark red/black is really nice looking and the green/white isn’t bad either.
So a couple weeks back I stamped a black/black dye module into a chest piece, equipped it on my toon as a costume placement in the number 1 slot and all was well. Later I got a different chest piece so I swapped them out and put the dyed black one into my cargo hold. Went back later to reequip the black one and the dye module is gone??? Is this a normal mechanic of the game somehow? If it is, that’s pretty crappy especially considering how much those black/black modules cost. Hoped it was just some sort of glitch so I opened a ticket but the CSR said he couldn’t see any record of me having a black/black module in that armor piece. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so is there a fix for it? 🙁
When you stamped it on your toon, did you put it on the chest piece in your character window or did you put it on the chest piece in your inventory? If you put it on the chest piece in the character window, you died the copy not the actual piece of armor.
Anyone got any Dark Yellow Medium Yellows? I need 2
