Healing Tome: Antitoxin Spray

  • Marjory sells this for 250 Pristine Toxic Spore Samples  and 5 gold but it is more expensive to buy it from her. You can also get this skill by spending 25 skill points in your hero window where you acquire the other healing skills.

Same thing happened to me. (For anyone else confused, it’s in the Hero>Skills tab, in the healing skills section)

We finally have something to spend our excess Bloodstone Dust on… But I’m not gonna waste my Crystalline Dust on those. 😛

I donno, the toxic tuning crystals are kinda sexy for a condi spec. I can’t think of an instance where the other two would be all that useful though.

“Marjory sells this for 250 Pristine Toxic Spore Samples and 5 gold”

What??!?! Outrageous! Is this an account-wide unlock?

I think the 25 skill points is more reasonable while still being completely unreasonable. 5 skill points would be more like it.

This is a grim reminder of their grind heavy design philosophy.

I got 1200 skillpoints on my main after making four legendaries and promoting tons of t5 to t6 mats. 25 is perfectly fine.

its kinda easy to get 25 skill points, few dungeon runs here (for leveling), scrolls from champ bags there, and if you dont have map completion then you probably still got skill challanges to do. heck the historian achievement gives you a scroll that gives 5 skill points (20% of what you need for it).

Yes it is easy to get 25 skills, I have map completion and after creating a few items here and there I currently have over 200 skillpoints on two characters and over 100 on a third but this is the _first_ of the new skills they’re adding, a pretty average healing skill and it costs 25 skill points.

Previously, the most expensive healing skill cost 3 points, this is over 8 times that cost, which makes me wonder if when they start adding new elite skills will they be 8 times the current cost too? If so they could cost more than 240 skill points.

It’s fine for people with one character but anyone with alts will have issues here once they add a number of new skills.

And yes, I know you don’t have to have it before someone feels the need to impart that pearl of wisdom.

The fact that you have 4 weeks to “farm” 25 level.
1 level is about 30min of gametime.
So 12.5 hours or 3 hours per week for 4 weeks.. What’s the issue?

P.s. That’s not even counting the Skill point you get bonus killing champs in their bags or doing world completion.

Being able to buy the tome with gold and spores means you can save it for future characters or make up for not having enough spare skill points… but it’s still pretty crappy that it isn’t an account-wide unlock. If it’s a good enough skill to be worth 25 skill points, the fact that future players will be locked out of having access to it (the tome is account bound, so it won’t be on the trading post) is an issue; if not, it shouldn’t cost so much.

The skill will be permanently in the hero panel.

Devs said that it’ll be “easier during the content”. But it’s actually the other way around. 25 skill points per character is way easier for most accounts than 5 gold and 250 spores.

I have 15 characters and most of them already had more than 15 skill points saved up. Some over 50.

No freaking way I would spend 75 gold and 1250 spores for that.

It’s as if they didn’t consider players may have more than one character, or as if they thought everyone has over 500 gold in the bank or earn more than 100 gold per week or something.

These pricings are simply unreasonable.

Again an oversight, this is like the 20 slot bags from Candy corn, the said value of the candy corn is higher than the value of just buying a 20 slot bag on the Trader Post.

Its always been like this. Take dragon bash for example. If you sold 250 dragon coffers when the holo wings were 20g you could get. If you had opened the coffers, Sure you have a chance at minis BUT you end up with very little taffy in comparison. Its been like this for a very long time.

And by ‘its’ I mean the fact that you can just sell raw items and profit while still getting the desired object. Crafting is a good example aswell.

Theyve really been bad with the pricings lately; the candy corn stuff pretty much took the cake in the ‘you have GOT to be kidding me! D:’ prize

Marjory sells this for 250 Pristine Toxic Spore Samples and 5 gold but it is a huge rip-off! You can also get this skill by spending 25 skill points
That Pristine Toxic will become around if not 1 S each soon , then it will cost 7,5 G. 25 Sp can be turned into 10 G rather easy. So I wouldn’t say it is an complete rip off…

Still I wont get the skill it feels rather useless to me anyway to be spending 25 sp on it.

Even at worst time Sp was 20 s max. How do u intend to turn 25 Sp into 10 g is beyond my knowledge of the game. I made 4 legendary and still have over 1000 SP plus 2 full stacks of scrolls.

Lower tier mats(t1 ->t2 and some t2-t3) , they can give 40 S + per sp easy. Down point is that you have to forge 10(or 5) times for every sp. So that takes 250 times putting 4 stuff in the forge. Trust me that is not that good (and now even talking about having to be a few thousands low mats on tp)

But still my point stands that 25 sp can be the worse option for some.

Has there been any mention of if there will be a source for pristine toxic spores other than the tp after the event is done?

I’ve noticed there is a lot Toxic Spores (shows as a gathering node on map) around maps; also seen some random ones underwater in areas near krait, etc. For example, I found a ton of patches in Sparkfly Fen. But even with max gathering tools the failure rate is massively high. I only get one successful pristine spore from the 5 or 6 in a group (rest gets failed materials).

I just mentioned this since it feels like the spores will probably become permanent nodes in areas. Since the change to Kessex seems to be permanent.

Also note that they spawn per char and have a very quick respawn time (at least, seems quick for me). I’ve got 4 chars camped around the spores near the monastery at Queensdale and by the time the 4th char has farmed the 4 spots, they’ve started to respawn for the 1st char

Each patch contains only 1 pristine spore, you just have to gather the patch until you find it, after that it’s pointless to gather the others. I saw an official post on forums about that.

Also note that you can use Copper picks to harvest, so what will happen is, you’ll see five spores. You’ll harvest them all. Only one of them will be Pristine, but the other four will each be worth about 3/4 the cost of a mining pick, so assuming you burn an entire mining pick on spores, you’ll get 20 Pristines and about 13 silver in pure profit off the mushed spores. Probably not the fastest farm in the game, but it’s still profit if you see one around.

A ANet dev hinted that this event is going to last 3 or 4 months. Each month will bring some sort of change to Kessex Hills.

Before wasting money or SP on tome check which healing skills your char already has and does it make any sense to invest anything into new healing skill which is not that good. I definitely not unlocking that skill for guardian. Didn’t check mesmer or war yet.
Price is unreasonable. Best case scenario 1 Sp invested in any crafting today is about 10-15 s maximum. Look on superior siege or Mystic skins on TP. I have over 1k SP on my 4 toons and 2 of them don’t even have full map. Plus 2 full stacks of scrolls in the bank. Scarlet and champs boxes can provide unlimited supply of SP for anyone unless u are hardcore WvW or PVP nut and think PVe is below you.
Sigil combined with rune of Torment can be interesting i am buying the recipie

Has anyone made the Marjory Chilli yet? I am curious about the number and duration of Might stacks and if there is a cooldown.

i dk much about this but why anet keeps releasing stuff with condition damage aren’t they gonna remove it anytime?

ofc they arent removing condition damage ever ever! they are simply trying to achieve a better way to work it out in pve because of the scale problem. removing it from the game would make no sense at all since conditions builds are still very viable and fun to play
