I don’t know how you find the time to put all of this together so fast, but triple kudos
Thanks for guide, would you kindly add the stats of the ascended gear also? Keep seeing pictures but never the stats.
Ya sure, thanks for the suggestion! 🙂
With stats Himei prolly means as in numbers. Like how much power,vitality,toughness.. defence ^^ The prefixes were alrdy known.
If you understood that and are still working on it, then apologize my rudeness.
NO:Angur’s Stone , YES:Augur’s Stone
Was confused by this as well. Couldn’t figure out what Angur’s Stone was.
Multiple references should be changed to Augur’s Stone, please. 🙂
Leatherworker coat needs 4 Bolts of Damask (3 for Insignia + 1 for coat part). Total number of Bolts for set is 24. Correct the mistake, please.
ty, corrected
You are my hero.
is ascended armor account bound when you make it?
Yup, account bound and soulbound on use
Soul bound on use? So we cannot swap ascended armor like ascended trinkets between characters? Thank you so much for all the info you put out Dulfy!
Since mid-May’s changes, ascended equipments are always account bound.
Once you use it on a char it cannot be used on another char I think.
Has someone got any ascended armor box yet? I want to know if they are selectable any piece of armor I want, like is with the weapons =)
you can select any piece from any category with those stats. i.e helm, legs etc heavy, light, medium
You should state that somewhere that if they were to make from scratch rather than buying then :
– spool of silk weaving thread can be made by either tailor, armour or leather of 450
– spool of thick elonian cord can only be made by huntsman of 450
– lump of mithrillium can be made by either artificer, huntsman or weaponsmith of 450
Uh, there are some wrong info here.
Spool of Thick elonian cord can be made by leatherwork 450 and tailor 450.
Lump of Mithrillium can be made by armorsmith 450.
If you are crafting the armor, you can make these materials and I listed them their mats requirements. You will be 500 anyways so pointing these out that they are 450 is kind useless.
Awesome guide, now i dont need to make my own spreadshot. Keep up the good work ^^
i am soooooo conused…..
Well, then you are either stupid or blind. It breaks down what you need to do.
Thanks for this Awesome guide.
Just a question : how do you reach lvl 450 (from lvl 425) ? Only by discovering/ crafting Weapon/Armor ?
Thanks for you answer.
You discover exotics to get to 450, then from 450 on you can refine the bloodstones etc.
Doesnt bloodstone stuff stop working at 475, for the exp gain ofc? from 400-425 refine ori and gossamer, then 425-450 Exotics, 450-475 refine ascended stuff, then 475-500 exotics again
Yes it stops at 475.
thanks a lot for your answer. Hunterlvl 461 now
Yes. The best bang for the buck is discoveries. They reset all your discoveries. You’ll need to do that from about 475 to 500, too, if I remember correctly from leveling Artificing.
just a little hint to get insignias that you cant craft: look at dungeons armor stats! for example u can get soldiers stats from ac-armor 😉
I’m really confused and before getting into it I want to know 1 thing:
Do I need all the crafts on 1 toon or can they be spread around on characters?
Thank you!
Most of the items are account bound I think so you can craft the various parts on multiple characters.
Thank you for the quick reply, have a nice day!
I have a simple question: If I want a full light armor set, do I only need Tailor level 500 or will I need any of the other professions, too? Since all others are on 400.
Just tailor 500
Do you need the insignia for each piece of armour crafted? cos I really don’t have the karma for 6 x 21,000!
Nope just 1 insignia is sufficient.
Can you “discover” the remaining pieces of a set of armor? Each piece of armor can be crafted after buying one recipe for ..say.. the gloves of that set. Can you put the required pieces together in discover panel or do you need to buy the “recipe” to complete the set?
You gotta buy recipes for gloves, boots, gloves, helm, legging, shoulders so it will be 30 laurels and 18 gold for the full set.
Thank you Dulfy 🙂
sorry to bump an old thread. any chance u could do this breakdown with ascended weapon too?i found the total mats really helpfull in planing what to make etc..
thanx.
how to craft Lesser Vision Crystal i have all mats but just could not find where or how to craft that
It says up top how to craft it… 2x dragonite ingot, empyreal star, bloodstone brick + 1 angur’s stone
cool guide! thank you
Sam

Will these be updated to include the new Ferocity stat?
Just curious, but for each armor set, wouldn’t there be an additional 3x bolts of damask for each insignia? Resulting in an extra 18 bolts per armor set? This amount isn’t reflect in each set’s breakdown, and can be a bit misleading
580g just for the 36x damask
no ty. i’m fine.
SUPER late to the party but I’m a bit confused with the Armorsmith chart. Spool of Gossamer and Thermocatalytic Reagent are mentioned twice in the Total Mats refined and full set. Why is that?
Would be nice if there was some mention for the requirements of Sinister insignias. Still, pretty nice to have guide to calculate most of the stuff to grind
I don’t get why heavy and medium armor both require more damask than the stuff the armor is actually made of. 25 bolts of damask to 16 deldrimor ingots? 24 damask to 18 elonian leather? Why are they screwing light armor wearers so hard?
Hi, according to GW2Wiki you need 16 Elonian Leather Squares for HA full set. Here it’s not listed. Is that an oversight or is GW2Wiki wrong?
They changed the ascended armor crafing requirements for HoT, this guide is outdated. I will update it later.
Hey, it’s still not updated, I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just wondering if you’re still planning to update it at some point?
Yeaaah I wasted gold following this guide halfway and then realising it’s all changed. Just use the wiki for now – that one’s accurate.
Hi Dulfy, please update the guide. If you don’t do it, no one else will. There is no other guide on the internet that lists the totals of the component materials like you do.
Both the wiki and gw2efficiency only list the totals for each individual piece of armor. It would be nice to know how much of each mat you need to craft a full set of heavy, medium, and light armor respectively.
Thanks.
We’d really appreciate it if u could update this guide dulfy! Tysm!
I know this guide is old but is everything still correct for Armorsmithing? Dont want to use the wiki because this is so much simpler
Most likely not.
The insignia is not 3 bolt of damask, it’s 3 damask patches; big difference. GW2spidy has made the same mistake, showing that the insignia is worth 35g profit, when it’s really about 5g profit.
This guide is outdated. They changed the requirements a couple months ago.
With the HoT update, this has changed quite a bit. It is now much more grindy to get gear. For a light armor set, you need 36 Damask patches, and 23 Elonian Leather Squares. Also 30 Gossamer Patches (for the intricate insignias to make the ascended insignias) cost for just those items I listed as well as 30 ectos, as of 6/27/16 is….about 910 gold. For one set which doesn’t include your T6 mat (that varies, Blood is way more expensive than venom, for instance).
Too bad. I remember when they said they didn’t want to make it a grind when they introduced ascended gear. But a grind it has become.
Ok so based on the fact we can all agree this guide is now out of date, can I ask – does anyone know of an up to date guide? I’ve just hit 500 armorsmithing so would like to embark on my ascended journey! But I cannot do it alone, i’ll need Frodo, Sam, and some guide of guide to get me through this adventure.
Ill be Gimley i dunno whats going on but YEEAH LETS DO THIS YOU CAN HAVE MY AXE!
I too am stuck if anyone has an up to date guide that would help a lot.
update this.
I think it is all nicely summed up here:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_crafting#Ascended_armor
As an alternative, one can easily make a spreadsheet splitting up the refined mats so you see the needed base mats.
Dulfy will update this when she’s got time for it.
I realize that updating the guide takes time and effort, but please at least add a very visible disclaimer at the beginning of the guide that it is out of date.
