  • y2z

DNA canisters and Gray Helix Components are now BTL! WOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!!!

    • Zan

I’m fairly certain my brain glitched when I read that. It just made too much sense. Same with the relics and contracts. But awesome, all the same. And the Operation fixes are welcome. Good patch.

    • mkwerner143

Very, very, very happy to see this!

  • Kalam

Exterminator and Humble Hero Sets? Pics anyone?

  • Josef Tauser

“Fixed an issue that would cause certain pieces of gear (such as the Dancer gear sets) to cause texture issues on the character wearing the item.” YES !!! Five months later they finally fixed the robot butts : D

  • noname

Does anybody know when the gree evnt is.coming back?

    • darkfather

Or the rakghoul…..the BH event is enough already.

      • Hache-Moncour

No news, but the fact that the tokens were changed to BoL instead of BoP implies at least one of them will return soon. Hoping for the Rakgroul, I have a Dewback to pick up…

        • Wiskers

As I understand it, the Rakghoul event is meant to serve as a medium term event, occurring less frequently than the BBA event but more frequently than the Gree event. The BBA event occurs once a month and the Gree event occur approximately every year, so I assume the Rakghoul event would be on a six month rotation, which would put the next event around June/July.

          • zenight

I thought we got 2 Gree events last year?
I’m missing 15k worth of rep to get legend for the Thorn event, I already have all the components for my veractyl, I can’t wait for it to return!

            • SpideyBry

You are correct. In 2013 the Gree event happened around start of July and Christmas to New Year’s. I’m looking forward to the next Rakghoul event to get my black/green crystal! 🙂

              • ucftimm

We actually got the Gree event in 2013 5 times. February, Middle to late March with double xp weekends, then one week at the end of May beginning of June before they turned it to 55 then July 4th and then Christmas time.

              • SpideyBry

Oh wow! I just started playing in April of last year so I didn’t know about the first three. I’m amazed they would do Gree 5 times in 1 year but very cool.

        • ucftimm

One will come in May after BH event to keep us busy until 2.8 and one will come in July to keep us busy until 2.9.

  • Luis Rosado

Gotta Use contracts to get the BB armor instead of just having the requisite rep and credz? Sneaky, sneaky way to make us keep doing contracts.

    • Chakra Kusanagi

Well, contracts are now tradeable on the GTN so you don’t really have to.

      • Luis Rosado

Same issue, now instead i have to buy inflated price contracts instead of using actual credz but i USE credz to buy the contracts, the difference is time spent on the subject. That’s my only complaint. I’ll play more when the mood hits me, but I don’t like having to grind more then I have to (this IS an mmo so I suspected some level of grind) but you shouldn’t have to grind if you’re already at max rep lvl. Just my personal opinion.

        • Chakra Kusanagi

I was just saying that you don’t have to keep doing contracts.
As for the inflated prices, that’ll just be at the start when everyone is trying to gauge the market. The prices will level out over time (and then increase again over time as less and less people do the event, but that’s far away)

    • ucftimm

That’s why I bought both full sets of armor last night and one of the bow casters. The gree armor can still be bought with credits so I do not know if the armor will have to use contracts or just the other Bounty vendor. I was not taking any chances.

  • Cornboyz

“Addressed an issue that could cause a crash in certain Flashpoints, such as Esseles, Black Talon, Boarding Party, and The Foundry.”
UMM WHAT?!?! Bioware actually decided to fix this? Only took them 2 years… i wonder if it actually fixes it haha

    • Wiskers

I did a double take when I read it, can’t believe they finally fixed it.

      • Eriksonix

Wut bug i never even knew of this bug existing and i was able to do all flčashpoints normaly

    • Chakra Kusanagi

They tried once before and it didn’t work, so I’m sure it’s a difficult bug to not only fix but to locate too.

    • zenight

I have never finished Esseles, now I can!

Well, now I *might* I should say, I’ll try it but I’ll believe this fix when I see it.

      • Chakra Kusanagi

You do know that alt-tabbing out during the hyperspace scene works fine right?

    • Geedai

      Finally!!! Cheers, everyone! 🙂
This should have been a really nasty bug to take so long; I don’t believe they were not looking for a solution for all this time. Anyway, glad it is finally fixed!

  • Jester

Going over these fixes… I could have covered all this in a couple days with less than 5 guys. I don’t play anymore, I just check to see improvements to the amount of attention Bioware gives this game. Just now getting around to fixing some major issues that are 2 years old. It’s surprising this game functions on the level it does. I think SWTOR is just given enough attention to keep it floating, nothing more. I really hope Bioware isn’t on the team when the next Star Wars MMO comes out.

    • Chakra Kusanagi

You should start your own company and make your own MMO if you’re that good at fixing bugs.

      • Edward T. Riker

This is the most used and stupid comment used at Internet… So if any of your family dies in a hospital you should start to operate them instead of sue the medics… They get paid for fix their products and sell it in propper state, so stop with this dumb, childish answer.

        • Chakra Kusanagi

Hah! You compare it to medical care?
He claimed to be able to do it himself with 5 guys in less than a couple of days.
That’d be like claiming that he could have done a better job than the surgeon in your example, which we all know would be bullshit.
So how about you stop being childish instead?
Grow up and realise that some things take time to fix and someone with no knowledge of how to fix them shouldn’t be commenting like that.

          • taylor

Trust me I could fix those flashpoints way sooner with 5 people.

            • Adolfo

I doubt you could, all you know to do is yap yap yap like a little chihuahua.

            • Chakra Kusanagi

Then how about you march up to bioware austins offices and offer your services?
Or better yet, tell us here exactly how you would fix it…

              • Jester

If you understood coding, you’d understand the amount of work it takes Bioware to fix what they fix. Any programmer can make a pretty good estimate of the work involved. It’s really not that much. SWTOR may be a huge game, but most bugs are isolated to specific areas of coding, which means the size of the game doesn’t mean anything. It’s like having a huge house that has a burned out light bulb. The size of the house has nothing to do with fixing the light bulb. The amount of fixes Bioware does per patch is small. Doesn’t take that much work. We do most of the work for them by finding the bugs and telling them where they are. That’s the only time fixing a bug actually gets difficult… when you don’t know where it is. In most cases, we give them 1-2 years notice on the bugs they’re now fixing today.

              • Cert

I do understand coding and I do not agree with you. Although sometimes fixing a bug can be as easy as replacing a light bulb, many times the problem is much more complicated than that. It could be like finding out you actually need to replace the circuit breaker as well to make it work. Sometimes you need to replace the whole circuit, which can lead to also removing a window and moving a door. Doing so can affect other things in your house (you have to remove a shelf, move the bookcase to another room….), which leads to more changes and fixes, needing much, much more time.
Of course, the bigger the house, the more complicated the fixes can become. SWTOR is a very complex game and I can imagine how hard it sometimes can be to actually fix a seemingly simple problem.

              • Chakra Kusanagi

                Oh that’s just BS.
If you understood coding, you’d understand that bugs are not like having a burned out light bulb.
First off, there are tons of differently configured computers out there and some have the bugs, and others don’t. Just because someone pointed out that there is a bug doesn’t mean it’s easy to find.
Take the Esseless/Black Talon bug for example. It’s obvious that many people suffer from the bug (me included) but it could not be replicated on any of the BW computers.
That means it must be specific combinations of hardware and software that are causing the bug. That means it’s hard to find and possibly hard to fix as well.
Not once has anyone said that the bugs are hard to find and fix because “the game is big”.

    • bogey2230

      golf clap

you obviously care enough to read, check and post…

      sad…very sad

      • Jester

I’m a Star Wars fan. Of course I’m going to check back from time to time to see if Bioware has made a game worthy of the Star Wars name. Took them 2 years to add space flight and ship combat, so trust me I don’t check often. Personally, I don’t even think many Bioware employees even play SWTOR. At the rate of bug fixes and content addition, I’d say they may have of total 5-10 developers and coders actually working on this game. 2-3 day ticket wait times means they probably have half that many working in SWTOR Customer Service.

I also see Bioware is still sticking it to their players with BitRaider. Software appropriately named for what it does to an average system, b/c it’s written so inefficiently. That means Bioware was foolish enough to sign a lengthy contract with a company that has a bad reputation for bad software and service. Cost cutting is Bioware’s #1 priority when it comes to SWTOR.

Okay, I’m done. Feel free to continue the personal assessment you started. Everyone knows I’m right.

        • Anon

BitRaider is terrible, but at least it is optional. I for one have chosen to never use it. For all of your programming expertise, wisdom, experience, and foresight, you certainly seem upset about an optional alternative.

    • Adolfo

You and your buddies should try to get hired by BW and EA since you are all so freaking awesome……I hope you notice my sarcasm.

      • taylor

you are still here? I thought you went back to Berlin already

        • Adolfo

Why should I go back to berlin when all I have to do is go to your mom’s house?

  • Disqus this

Glad I bought sets of the BH event gear before they changed it. I’ll have to remember to buy some other sets before they change those too as well as future events if their offered for credits first.

  • taylor

Where is the corruptor zero fix?
