I’m a bit disappointed there were no new races added, but am still hopeful they might make another announcement closer to release. I want to play a Togruta so bad it hurts.

So 2 new ops 4 new hm flashpoints new gear and level cap and your worried about a cosmetic race that does not change gameplay at all ?

Yes, this is why we can’t have nice things. Because people clamor for cosmetic things and the devs are all too happy to oblige. Very cheap and easy to implement, and at the expense of actual content.

how much faster will this xp boost make it compared to having the legacy perks? Will this make it so I can level a toon solely through Class missions? Because that would be great.

They had to delay the announcement by a week or two just to say we can get a 12x exp bonus? Why? Were they unsure they could do it for some strange reason?

Also, I was hoping to see more universal companions added, especially after seeing Theron and Lana. Doesn’t have to be them, I just always like more people in my party. 🙂

imo, i expected better stuff than just mere xp boost. our regular dailies can do it easily..

i’m expecting special items, like they did for 2.0

They probably had an issue where the 12x xp boost wasn’t working properly server side. And if people preordered and werent getting the main perk of early access as they were promised, then that could speak legal issues for them

Not even a slight discount for subscribers, x’D. I dont know what to say for them (they may have to discount it for 5 $ after all), but this is not the same case like in RotHC (was 10 $ approx. for any subscriber, then after many months, absolutely free for everyone who subscribes at least once).

I believe it may be free for subscribers at one point(much like RotHC) but it won’t be soon. Probably 6+ months. It may not be the case thought

Yavin 4……i wonder if this might also be a set up for something that deals with Exar Kun in the future……

Yeah.knew it. Yavin 4 baby. Yes i do hope they do something with the spirits of Exar Kun and Naga Sadow. If Freedon nadd spirit is also there i would love to see them. Specially on my Sith Inquisitor … Dadadadummmm

It’s possible. They talked about both Kun and Sadow way back in the old “Galactic History” updates pre-launch, and they both appear in Codex entries I believe. Would definitely like to see them mentioned/appear.

Dangit don’t they know the pre-order bonuses are supposed to make you want to resubscribe? I would go for seven days of early access and the xp bonus if there was a new race something to make me want to run through a set of class quests again. RotHC is underwhelming as well for a reward. To be honest all subs get it free and I would think a lot of people already own it.

While a grand statue sounds cool I doubt I am going to need more then one cluttering my house. I just don’t understand the delay for this announcement. Throw in a unique mount or color crystal combination something to ooh and aah us shiny collectors. I really was expecting to have a reason to want to resub. But at this time it looks like I will just be buying the expansion and continuing my F2P sojourn.

to the first part.

Allot of people will want to come back and also new players might join. With the xp boost. This is a great way for them to catch up to current end game level. Also i know a ton of people who still make the same class alts, or who still didn’t bother to level a few classes because it didn’t bothered them but just story wise they now can enjoy it without allot of hassle. I am one of those so imo, this is a great idea.

Grand statue sounds nice, and one of the packs will have a smaller version just like Grand Statue of the Emperor and the smaller one from False Emperor flash points. I also don’t get the delay for the announcement. Unless it took them some effort to put those guides up for the new Discipline system and such, i really dont see a reason for the delay. I do hope they will throw in some extra’s for those CE, Subs and Pre-orders.

Actually I saw some posts on reddit saying that the fees for abilities are waived as well if you pre-order. So I can definitely see your point for people returning and the newer players now. That is a huge credit savings I wonder if it counts the speeder piloting. 😀

Was it for the pre-orders only or in general? indeed i can remember when i played from beta to launch. The cost for a skill was even ridiculous back then.. Ended up to max level with half my skills missing. lol

Looks like pre-order only. I am going to have to flip a coin outside of commando and shadow I never got into the republic classes. It might be worth it just too knock those two other classes out for my legacy.

Eeeh… “you’re gonna need more than one”?

It’s a centerpiece… There’s not many centerpiece hooks in the first place, so how many do you need anyway?

Damn, I was hoping the 12x XP bonus was for all missions.
That would have made my class mission videos much easier… oh well.

Still get 12x XP for Class missions, which level you up even faster then double xp (which increases everything). So glad I no longer have to Kuat grind…

Yeah, but I play with the UI turned completely off (when recording) so I like to outlevel content by more than a level or two…

But I guess I’ll try it out and if need be, I’ll fill up with KDY (which most likely will have waaaay longer queues now)

It saddens me that there isn’t any PvP news (at least not a direct one, since the disciplines affect it). I know it’s still the first announcement, but I think that if there were something big for PvP they’d tell us to create hype the way they did for PvE (new flashpoints, operations and so on).

Seems like Dulfy team is going to have their work cut out for them, a whole new skill system will probably change builds, balance and rotations completely.
Though i trust them to be on top of it in good time.

Have been waiting for this….. NEW OPS!! It will be incredible to dig in and really get excited about earning new gear again. Can’t wait!!!!!

This is KICKASS CONTENT (Now TWO operations instead of one. That’s something at least lads. This is getting better and better!!!).

And I really mean it, even far far much better than RotHC!!!

Little great shame that there is zero pvp content, 🙁 Well, for sure the first new patches after the digital expansion’s lauch shall bring us a new whole warzone, plus an arena I guess, 😛

Patience is a virtue. And I am really glad I have been patient with this game.

I really hoped with all my heart to beat this game will improve for sure. And it did really worked! Well done Bioware, really well done!

Just keep it up, you can do this! :bigthumbsup!: 😉

On a second note: i do hope we get to see different sizes of Massassi warriors.,d.ZWU&psig=AFQjCNEDe9HgrycvzQ2lgz8ROIpRoGkPHQ&ust=1412709754858859

i figured one picture would be enough to show the size different between the hulking one and these. But just for your pleasure, two more links, showing a skinnier version and one bit between the second link and the one from the trailer.

well they did it once and i’m sure they will be happy to do it again. bioware listened to everyone and they are going to build up from what the players want.

Since empire and republic must unite to fight Revan and his forces, surely BW intends for the ops to be cross-factional and we’ll be fighting alongside the opposite faction. Commandos and snipers in the same op, right? I mean, otherwise why are you saying we’re uniting and showing Satele next to a sith lord? Oh that’s right. It’s just for a pretty trailer. In practice we will be “uniting” by not uniting at all.

Silly BW. They need to come up with more logical storylines and better villains, maybe sprinkle in an original idea or two. Other than the nonsensical story, hopefully this expansion turns out good.

And you say this when we know nothing about the story or (possibly) cross-fraction ops itself?

Have patience.

I say this from watching the trailer. You really think it’s cross-factional and they just forgot to mention that as a feature? I have a bridge to sell you.

Of course not, if you look at the Battle of Ilum fp, there were Republic and Empire soldiers fighting against Malgus together, yet we could only group with our fraction.

I was really just pointing out the fact that you said the story was “illogical” when it hasn’t been released yet.

The story is just a continuation of the Forged Alliances arc, which we’ve experienced a large portion of already. And obviously the rest of the story involves a build-up to a face-off with Revan, probably as the last ops boss in the second op.

What’s illogical is saying and depicting both factions gearing up together for what looks like a big battle, but then having the ops not be cross-factional. It’s like false advertising. Of course we won’t actually be teaming up with the opposite faction, so why depict it that way for cutscenes?

I seriously doubt we’ll be facing Revan before 3.4 or so. I’m actually surprised that nothing was shown on Manaan. I figued one of the two ops would have something to do with the Order of Sasha.

Its all about the story, not actual game features. You will most likely go in story instances and see Darth Marr and Satele having a conversation with you, See republic troopers along side Imperial ones in flashpoints and ops. Not suppose to take it literately. If they havent mentioned it, don’t assume that what a trailer is saying is immediately a game feature announcement.

Most games will come to a point where they share a common treat. They will unite but all for story sake.

I agree about cross-faction. Then again, even if its not cross-faction at launch, a future patch may very well introduce that function. Not that it makes anything better for now, but just something to be aware of.

How Big are these Planets?

Reason why i am asking is because Makeb with the shuttles was an illusion in size,if these planets are the size of Oricon that is lame, and the quests just added little fluff here and there but nothing that anyone would want to do aside if and i do not like saying this Rep again.

I’d expect Oricon-sized, maybe a little bigger. I would NOT expect Makeb sized x2. That’s just not going to happen with this content team or for $20.

This looks about what I expected. Won’t be preordering because it isn’t important enough to me, but I’m looking forward to experiencing it when I feel like paying $20 or have it rolled into my sub like ROTHC’s deal eventually was.

this^ .. i’ve been struggling to preorder, is there any news as to when (if it ever ) becomes free for subs?

Yeah, subsriber pay the same price f2p player pay.

Thanks BioWare. Time to cancel my subsciption – just to show them the finger they showed me as a subscriber…

Very appreciated.

I think I will not buy this. And I will re-subscribe when I get the addon for free. I have enough of the BioWare swtor team.

Well, this is just funny.
I did say that the grand subscriber reward would be an XP boost, didn’t I?

Good Job BioWare……/sarcasm.

So, lame rewards, lame story, lame EVERYTHING…….

Yes, they really could have and should have come up with a better reward in addition to the XP boost. Some people have the maximum number of characters already. What are they going to do with the XP boost? Delete characters and start over (nm, I know people already do this ::rolls eyes::)? How about something useful like IDK, a mobile access point for legacy storage? That would have been a nice reward.

Just buy an extra character slot on the GTN, or better yet, level up a character or two on another server :)?

Have 8 55s. I’m good with that. I got 8 for the class stories and achievements. No incentive to have more than that. New characters are for doing PVP. But I suspect that will stagnate more since there’s no new PVP content coming out with 3.0.

Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent have a LOT of replay value (LS/DS/NEU?) in the story imho :). I’ve started my second of each. Since it’s been about 2 years since I’ve gone through the story, I’ve forgotten most of it.

In the end it’s to each his or her own…

Nice catch, didn’t notice it. Now it only gets better!

But I doubt it will be mounted combat. If it was, they would’ve said so.

I agree. Not bad at all. About the same for the Hutt Expansion. I have to laugh at everyone bitching about the price, when you know damn well that they’ll spend $50 on some Cartel Coins instead. Hell, these days you can barely get a pizza and drinks delivery for around $20.

Stupid argument, you can also get better expansions for $20. You can get Final Fantasy XIV for $20. The Witcher 3 is going to have dozens of hours of content for $20 each for two expansions.

Face it, Bioware over hypes mediocrity and has failed to deliver quality since this game launched.

Let’s do a headcount here:

1. Continuation of the Forged Alliance storyline with 5 more levels!
2. Not one, but TWO NEW Planets!
3. 12x experience boost attached to the wonderfully crafted class stories + Makeb! Which by the way, starts today! (with preorder)
4. Two Tactical Flashpoints and Four Hardmode Flashpoints!
5. Not one, but TWO NEW Operations!
6. A revamped progression system that is coupled perfectly with the level cap increase; giving us time to understand how it works!
7. Armored Mounts with option for passengers! (Am I possibly reading into that too much?)
8. More new enemies, items, crafting schematics, reputation gear, datacrons, and much more!
9. Oh and did I mention a story that revolves around our beloved REVAN?!?!?

Twenty bucks? For that ^^?

You think so 😕 I probably just got a bit into the excitement of the whole thing and thought of those elephant things in WoW. I’ve always wanted to have a two person speeder like the one in AotC.

why should you preorder as F2P? there is nothing for F2P except the 7 days early access.
the housing statue of revan is crap bioware can keep it.
seriously the bonus with rise of the hutt cartel were better.

and why the fuck is the addon so expensive even for subscribers?
rise of the hutt cartel was 7-8€ for subscribers and dunno ~15€ for F2P

$20 is not expensive at all for an expansion with a level cap increase. It’s the same price for preferred and F2P as it was with ROTHC. Instead of the $10 discount for subs, they are giving them power-leveling for their alts….something which doesn’t appeal to me but appeals to many, many subs. Frankly, if people are still subbing almost 3 years into this game, I don’t think they are going to have a meltdown over $10. If you’re not a sub, you get 1 week early access which is a fairly standard pre-order perk for expansions. If you don’t want early access, then don’t pre-order. I don’t think they market much towards F2P players since they don’t bring in much revenue for the game.

well you do have a difference in f2p vs. preferred status though since preferred status gave money to the game one way or another at one point but yea i wouldn’t care about pleasing pure f2p either not giving anything

When did the subs started getting RoHC for free? Might as well w8 since I don’t have much time to play this game now

Yep. It’s just so people can power-level alts to get them to max level before the early access starts on the expansion with the new level cap.

Thanks, now I can finally finish my 30-40 alts that I was supposed to do in the holidays before I stopped playing.

I’ll be the jerk to say – I think it’s BS they’re charging subs for this expansion. Especially those of us who have dumped literally thousands of dollars in Cartel Coins. Oh well, I’ll pay for it anyway, because I still love the game – but you’d think subs would get a discount or some better perks than XP boosts as a single piece of decor.

It’s EA bro they know people will spend thousands on CC – and pay for expansion. Corporate level only sees $$

It’s called capitalism.

But, if the consumer is easily bilked out of money for cosmetic, digital merchandise i can hardly blame the corporate body for that.

CC aren’t mandatory to buy. I can understand that you’d like it to be free for subs, but I don’t see why those buying a lot of Cartel Coins should have it for free.

So you want it for free? That’s not how things work here, and about the ones who spend money on the cartel market, that’s entirely their choice to do so.

I guess I missed the armored Mount thing. Someone enlighten me where that information came from as I didn’t see it on my read through.

I have to say despite having to pay for it ( which I think is worth it for the xp boost) I’m pretty excited for this it looks, so far, like they’ve done a great job on it

It said 100k for me, the purple pop-up text said 56k, but when I checked it did give me the 100k. I think some things may not be aligned entirely well so it may just be a display bug. If not, then consider writing SWTOR CS an in-game ticket. 🙁

Edit: Also, it seems logging out of the game and back in may help, if you activated your pre-order while logged in.

What about Imperial players who sided with the Revanites on Dromund Kaas? It’d be nice to fight on Revan’s side.

Hadn’t played that storyline yet and didn’t know about any Revan connection. I still think it’d be nice to have the option to support the Revanites, especially if your character is one.

Whether you played it or not, the game assumes you did and proceeds as such. There for even if you choose to side with the Revanites in the beginning, the action the four classes took will contradict that of the previous one if it were light side. So if you choose Dark side option then nothing changes, if you choose light side then you sort of changes sides again.

So unless they will add options to side with him in the new story line, i will have to disappoint. As of right now until different actions has been chosen, you will be against Revan and his army.

Hope that made sense.

I get that the plot railroads the player into that, I just think it’d be nice to have the option, especially since Imperial players can join the Order of Revan so early in the game.

I haven’t played that plotline yet but I thought that Revan took leadership of the Revanites? That’s a long way from wiping them out.

Again, I haven’t played it, but the description I’ve read explicitly states he took over and said nothing about destroying them.

dont you all see? sure I may be wrong, but all I see here is a revan with a genius masterplan, posing a threat so reps and imps work together, like they seem to do, to finally stop the war between them. Knowing revan is a bit screwed up and doing things a strange way this seems only logical for me.

The war between rep and imp will never be stopped. The reason for their joined forces is that they are out numbered. With an unknown number of both faction secretly been working for Revan, it is hard to say how much men and firepower each faction has. But it is undoubtedly that if they go alone against Revan, Meaning no joined forces, also could mean having the Empire facing of against the Republic and at the same time fighting Revan, both factions would be doomed.

Revan plan was always to destroy the Sith Empire. Not peace between them.

2 NEW OPERATIONS WOW! And just days after DP/DF made a 1 year birthday. Let”s not be an expansion, even digital, with just 2 operations for 1 year again, PLEASE!

2 Ops for a year again? DP and DF were never an expansion, They were PART of an expansion. That expansion being RoTHC. DF/DP was the climax of it all. Just like RoTHC had a Ops or two at the beginning, its the same with this. So We will see future Ops and other similar releases since the launch of RoTCH, i just hope it will be even better,

Yes, the developers actually mentioned they never want this to happen again. They had some scheduling issues where the window between the ops and the expansion was just a bit too short to make a whole new ops worthwhile, but they definitely intend to have more frequent new ops. I’m expecting at least two sets of new ops after 3.0, before 4.0, spaced 6-8 months apart.

Two new level 60 operations obviously means new gear. Anyone any information yet about the gear rating that will drop in those operations in sm? hc?

If they do it similarly to RotHC, then 192 gear will be available at level 58 with Basic comms, 198 gear will drop from SM bosses and be available for Elite comms, and 204 gear will drop from the HMs and be available with Ultimate comms. The bolster addition to SM ops may get them to remove the level 58 tier, tho ,since no one will actualy have to gear for 8-man SMs.

Yes you will remain level 50 until you either sub for a month which gives you rothc or purchase the latest xpac which automatically gives you the rothc xpac even if you don’t sub

I’m kind of flabbergasted BW had the guts to call it their own idea that was implemented “after much discussion” when they essentially copied WoW again.

what do you mean they copied wow again? how? did revan was killing some orcs in wow and wow players got mad about him?

I’m pretty sure he means the skill tree system; Blizzard revamped it in Cataclysm because they had hit the same issues (increasing skill points allows unbalanced hybrid builds which requires them to raise the signature abilities of each treehigher and higher up the tree to avoid it) and this is extremely similar to Blizzard’s solution.

However, since Cataclysm launched while SWTOR was still in development, it would have been much smarter of them to bite the bullet and switch to that method prior to launch…

Yes, I meant the skill tree & utility system.
I never said Blizzard invented everything. They’re just running the most financially successful MMO.

than why you said that BW copied wow in some way? Most of mmos are facing same problems…. do you even know why wow and swtor changed from tree to profecy system?

They’re not all bad, but far too many are just time wasting “Kill [number] [enemies].” and the functionally identical “Obtain [number] [items] (by killing [bigger number] [enemies]).”. But unfortunately that’s standard in al MMORPGs, the good ones are just better at disguising it with plot.

I keep thinking about story in this expansion… So Revan did what he wanted to do … He forged peace between Empire and Republic… So… He is not villain? Right?

he never wanted peace between Empire and Republic, hes intentions were always to destroy the Emperor, destroy the Empire. He made that pretty clear in The Foundry. Now he just includes the Republic in it.

I mean this “new” Revan. He wants to change the galaxy… So galaxy united against him. From some point of view thats exactly the change he wanted, right?

Yawn. I can’t decide which I find more boring, Revan or the pre-order benefits with this expansion.

A huge XP boost is enough to make me consider not pre-ordering and without anything to entice me I don’t think I’ll bother. I had been looking forward to the expansion because I’m bored running the same old content but now I can’t be bothered. Maybe its time to go play something else.

The huge xp boost is awesome. It allows you to experience the stories you haven’t played yet without bothering with the boring repetitive planet arcs, fps, etc, allows you to build up high level crafting alts, allows you to quickly roll a 55 on different servers, etc

Leveling to lvl 60, two new flashpoints, four HM flashpoints, two new planets, two new operations at level 60, new Revanite gear (probably at gear level close to 200 I guess?), 8 new class missions and 2 new faction story arcs. Yes, you are right, why bother with this expansion? We agree on one thing though. Go play something else, indeed. Trust me, we will not mind at all.

Yes go play something else. I can’t stand people.e like you who constantly complain about the game yet still play.

I already have ROTHC, why would I want it included with the pre-order? Can I get a discount and not have that since I already own it? Other than that, I’m looking forward to this.

It’s for people who don’t have it, so they’re not prevented in getting to 60. ROTHC is pretty much free for everyone now.

i believe Makeb was actually dubbed as chapter 4 as it shows on your logging in screen… so yeah this is definitely chapter 5 and should be IMO

I don’t like that Empire and Republic allies. Fuck republic imo. Sith would just let revan kill republic and then figure something out, I hate this.

I don’t get, if I become a sub now, not pre-ordering Shadow of Revan, will I get the expansion in Dec 2? And Shadow of Revan is a paid expansion? Or I’ll receive it on Dec 9 no matter if i’m subbed or pref?

You should become Preferred, but only subscribers would get the 12x XP. Save for that, you should get all of the pre-order bonuses, inculding the early access.

It’s all a bunch of rubbish i pre order the game, and when it was finally here i got in and try to go on those 2 new planets, it says i need to purches the expansion…and ive done that almost 2-3 weeks ago. I got an e mail from them about confirmation purchase and it clearly shows ive bought the game, but when i go on my account on their site my account / games it doesnt show the expansion, btw am a prefered status. But i don’t think that’s thing cause is says that we can also have an early access. Thank you bioware for robbing me.

and actually you will be able to play it in december! As of today (dec 9) the content is out for everyone who pre ordered or purchased before today!!!
