SWTOR Patch 3.2 Rise of the Emperor PTS patch notes

Unleashed from hiding on Yavin 4, the former Sith Emperor has struck the Imperial world of Ziost. Using his immense power in the dark side of the Force, he has dominated the minds of the planet’s martial forces–as well as an elite cadre of militaristic Jedi–and has set them against the populace, engaging in a bloody slaughter. Lana Beniko of Sith Intelligence and SIS Agent Theron Shan are attempting to reach out to their Imperial and Republic allies, respectively, with details on the quickly escalating crisis in the heart of the Empire.

Highlights

  • New Planet: Ziost! The Imperial planet Ziost is the focal point of an escalating crisis. Level 60 players who have completed the Shadow of Revan storyline can now join in the fight against the former Sith Emperor!
  • New Feature: Outfit Designer! You can now have up to 16 outfits created and saved with your unique look! This new feature can be accessed on the right hand side of the Character Sheet.

General

  • New Feature: Outfit Designer! You can access this new feature by opening your Character Sheet from the Menu bar of the “C” key by default. All players start with the first tab unlocked. You can assign the appearance of an item to a particular slot by dragging the item from your Inventory and dropping it into the appropriate slot. This does not consume or otherwise “equip” the item – it can be used for multiple appearance tabs.
    Once you’re satisfied with your outfit, clicking the “Commit” button at the bottom of the screen will save that Tab’s appearance. To use this outfit, click “Apply” at the top of the window.
    If you wish to unlock more tabs, simply click on the tab to the right of the Character Sheet and purchase it with Credits or Cartel Coins. (PTS Note: Only the default tab is currently available for testing).
  • The following mounts and vehicles are now Adaptive and can be used at any Speeder Piloting rank and their speed will increase depending on that rank:

  • Singularity is now a single effect, rather than a stacked effect: While Shii-Cho form is active, Combat Focus and Force Exhaustion grant Singularity, increasing the damage dealt by your next Force Sweep or Focused Burst by 15% and making your next Force Sweep or Focused Burst consume no focus.

  • Koan is now a single effect, rather than a stacked effect: While Shii-Cho form is active, Zen and Force Exhaustion grant Koan, increasing the damage dealt by your next Force Sweep or Focused Burst by 15% and making your next Force Sweep or Focused Burst consume no focus.

  • Shockwave is now a single effect, rather than a stacked effect: While Shii-Cho form is active, Enrage and Force Crush grant Shockwave, increasing the damage dealt by your next Smash or Raging Burst by 15% and making your next Smash or Raging Burst consume no rage.

  • Destruction is now a single effect, rather than a stacked effect: While Shii-Cho form is active, Berserk and Force Crush grant Destruction, increasing the damage dealt by your next Smash or Raging Burst by 15% and making your next Smash or Raging Burst consume no rage.

  • Feelin’ Woozy now reduces the movement speed of all affected targets by 30% for the full duration of Shrap Bomb (up from 6 seconds).

  • The damage dealt by Scatter Bombs has been drastically reduced, however a single target can now be struck by all 5 bombs. Additionally, Scatter Bombs now immobilizes affected targets for 3 seconds.

Dirty Fighting

  • Feelin’ Woozy now reduces the movement speed of all affected targets by 30% for the full duration of Shrap Bomb (up from 6 seconds).

  • Rain of Fire has been redesigned: Kinetic and energy attacks deal 5% additional damage to burning targets. Additionally, Pulse Cannon spreads your periodic Incendiary Round effect to the targets it damages, as long as it damages targets already affected by your Incendiary Round.
  • Pulse Generator now only has 2 stacks (down from 3 stacks), with each stack increasing the damage of your next Pulse Cannon by 20% (up from 15%), causing it to slow affected targets by 45% (up from 30%), and making Pulse Cannon immune to interrupts.

  • Rain of Fire has been redesigned: Kinetic and energy attacks deal 5% additional damage to burning targets. Additionally, Flame Thrower spreads your periodic Incendiary Missile effect to the targets it damages, as long as it damages targets already affected by your Incendiary Missile.
  • Superheated Flame Thrower now only has 2 stacks (down from 3 stacks), with each stack increasing the damage of your next Flame Thrower by 20% (up from 15%), causing it to slow affected targets by 45% (up from 30%), and making Flame Thrower immune to interrupts.

I wouldn’t call that a buff….. The 5% Rain of Fire damage increase is (mostly) useless as only tactics uses kinetic and energy dmg attacks….it should be changed to elemental- but, it’s bioware.
As for Pulse Generator…the 10% dmg boost difference you gain from 2 stacks is just a result of the redesigned Rain of Fire (live,) which used to grant you a 10% dmg increase.
…so, no real buff.

Hey, Plasmatech is 25% Kinetic/energy damage.

Of course, because every 4th pulse cannon had 3 stacks it means all we got out of this is a DoT spread, and damage moved slightly out of Pulse Cannon

Poor Kwerty, going to have to go back through this guide and work it through again after 3.2. The devs have something against you or something, lol

Thankfully its not as drastic this time – Unless the resource management is changed, I’ll only have to alter the AoE rotation.

Last time I had to create a ton of new images, vids, etc, but if too much isn’t changed I can keep what I’ve got up this time around

So if Pulse Cannon spreads stacks of Incendiary Round (if it hits a target affected) does it refresh Incendiary Round on the target already affected? If not, that’s stupid, but it’s BioFail.

Why would it? No other DoT spread does that.

The only annoyance with it right now is only the first tick spreads the DoT. That and the icon-highlight code still thinks its 3 stacks to pulse generator

If you used Pulse Cannon with 3 stacks, you were doing it wrong.

2×20 + 5 (susceptible) = 45
2×15 + 5 (susceptible)= 35
Rain of Fire = +10%

2×15 + 10 + 5 = 45

So its 45% boost vs a 45% boost, except one of those 45% boosts also spreads incendiary round.

I’ve been wanting that stacking buff for Juggs and Mara’s to be a single stack for like, ever bro

The adaptive mount upgrades are a welcome change. I LOVE riding my Hyrotii Scrapper, but at 90% speed it’s awfully slow. I’m not such a hard core role-player than I insist on a broken mount actually being broken…

I don’t understand it at all, the adaptive mounts, some of them you get them at nightmare mode so it’s really rare you go to nightmare ops with speeder piloting I. Maybe a change to those mounts with 90% of speed like denova tanks, but the others i don’t really get the point of this adaptive upgrade,, this could mean that they will be unlocked for all your characters trough legacy on the future?

certain speeders could only be ridden at pilot rank 2 or 3 but with adaptive speeder you can go on a mount/speeder with pilot rank 1 that use to require rank 3 before. thats what im getting from it

I think it’s to make the old speeders attractive for high level characters and to relieve burden of buying a new speeder when you level up piloting for new ones…. Most newbs figure out or are advised to just buy a cartel pack speeder off the gtn right at the start. Speeder vendor rides still cost more than many of the common cm ones do off the gtn, so not much is changing for new players.

My bet is they just decided to make all mounts adaptive to save time and standardize things. Like you said, nobody is going into nim ops with piloting 1 anyway, so it doesn’t make any difference.

Buffing: you get all 3 stacks of Singularity at once now. No need to wait until Force Exhaustion is done.

why dumb it down in the first place? bah another ”nerf” to serve the baddies that wont pay a little attention

Why nerf engineering, it’s already hard enough to play my sniper without a “drastic nerf” to my damage ;o;

Drastic nerf to one ability that you don’t use often. We get more defense and utility in exchange for the damage nerf.

Engineering was doing slightly better than normal anyways and really good on dummies.

Snipers in general need a buff. I like the utility that’s being added but we need more. We suffer horribly in PvP and other classes do more dps in both raids and PvP. Remember, dummies don’t hit back or move.

Don’t use often? That 20 cd makes it rotational actually, so you use it, every, single cycle if you don’t have to worry about your positioning.

That may be, but the fact that you can now hit one target with all five bombs might make up for it, and I’d guess the immobilize effect will be nice for pvp.

honestly the nerf to rage/focus, fury/concentration (retard name) is for the lazy baddies that cant pay attention to stacks.

I’m still not sure about the rage/focus being an absolute nerf, you are now able to use raging burst or smash right after your stacks are up instead of having to wait. Will have to test.

its not a damage nerf, but it stil is a nerf, its the dumbing down of the stack mechanic, cause it sure isnt hard to wait for all 3 stacks to build up with force exhaustion or zen

this dumbing down of the stack mechanic is to appease the lazy baddies for pvp that dont wanna pay attention to it, nor have i seen any request to change this henceforth a dumb decision and a wierd one on bioware’s end

I moved to the Powertech so I could play a DOT class without a DOT spread, having abandoned my Vengeance Jug and Madness Sorc.

wtf? When they finaly start nerf mercs and maras? As I read all PTS so far it seems like only sorcs get nerf on single target and aoe (I total agree with aoe). Mercs and maras are able to do over 5k dps now PTs will do so… wtf? Maybe they should get nerf in first place… but no Bioware musi as always destroy sorcs… maybe let them remove all dps abilities and make them only fuckin heal class only… this is so not fair

It is totally ridiculous we said that from the beginning when the Nerf box opens up all hell breaks loose and they fck up the classes.

They should have left everything as it was.
They Should stop pay attention to the whiners and cry babies that can not play their class and are asking for Nerfs all the time for the shitty pvp.

Yup, they should move all the abilities to their original form for PvE. Then, create a special simplistic UI for PvP: attack ability, stun ability, heal ability, stealth ability, scan ability, and shield/bubble ability. That should take care of the pvp whiners that don’t need actual abilities as the pve raiders do. It would solve a lot of problems.

Or they can just create another new pvp class that all players will use only that for Pvp so all will have the same class and nothing else, no more crazy whiners this way.

Meh, I’d rather keep the same classes in PvE and PvP, this would be highly annoying for anyone who likes to do both PvE and PvP.

This isn’t DCU and the engine cannot handle Rift-like separation of PvE and PvP effects. Not to mention that would cause twice the work that could be better spent improving other parts of the game and introducing new content.

I will answer as a PVE player. Most of you guys (PVP players) do not give a damn about PVE players and many of PVE players do not give a damn about pvp but think a lil bit. New ops are really really favorising ranged dps classes. Fights like torque, underlurker or even bulo are quite pain in the ass for melee classes. If they nerf mara because of him being probably OP in PVP (as far as i read from comments) then I am sure he will be totally useless on PVE. Please let’s try to force BW to implement some new mechanic into game that will make skills having other effects in PVP or PVE and THEN nerf/buff classes. It will be better for all of us.

Well but this is not reason to nerf single target dps on Lightning. .. I understand FS and imo they can take it away coz I don’t use it a lot.
About PvE and PvP I really don’t care I’m not pro PvP Player I and do warzones for fun and more focusing on PvE content. I’ve play my sorc sience very beginnig and now they wanna force all dps sorcerers to abondon this spec but truly no one knows why…

Lightning and balance are fine for pvp. Sorry you can’t faceroll like the other classes, their nerfs will come eventually. Sages have been doing good for a LONG time and they are still very good for all parts of the game. If you are having too much trouble with lightning do madness, just as good and works just as well in ranked. PvE wise, most guilds can’t clear the new content without having OPFOTM classes. This is why nerfs and other shit is happening.

Weekly on Czerka does not longer require the FPs to complete. There is new Heroic 2+ which you need to do to get the weekly.

It’s Called Off Message and you need to kill single Champion Droid to get it, it’s located in open section of Supply Yard. HP – 120340. No special stuff to worry about

There were on The Shadowlands until SOR. I would not be surprised if there was a resurgence on CZ-198 the Weekly once we no longer have to run 2 FP’s.

So for anyone thats gone through the story on pts, do we meet Theron if we’re Imp side, and Lana if we’re Rep? Ty for any answers anyone can provide

If you go through the full SoR expansion, yes, you meet them both, regardless of your personal faction alignment.

Checked it out on the PTR but I love being able to ride around on my Avalanche Heavy Tank and it now go at rank 3 speed with what is probably the best mount resistance to being knocked off in game. Just ran though it all.

Nice so they continue to nerf engineering sniper. Niiiiiiice. Especially when it got hit with 3.0 too. >.<

All these Pvp whiners that cry like crazy for Nerfs day and night in the forums have created that mad situation.
They will make the Pve part of the game totally unplayable if they continue like this.

Blame the devs u mofo not the players. They can’t balance this game to save their own lives , just be happy ur pveing or else you would go crazy on the PvP side of things.

The problem is the forums all over are full of clueless people that ask for nerfs like crazy.
The damn Devs try to make those whiners a little bit more happy and then they create a total mad house for all of us.

Players need to be blamed too, mostly.

And I pvp too some time and the problem there is the quitters and the newbillies, not an imaginary overpowered superman class.

Haven’t seen that only good players and bad players, not classes.
The player makes the class good or bad not the class the player.

Yup they will nerf everything what is not Warrior/Knight and Bounty Hunter/Trooper. This is really sick 🙁

Yes, the skill removing through out the game life cycle big disappointment cause. of no skill crybabies. I remember back when sith marauders had skill in pvp. Now they are a focus of embarrassment. No round house kick anymore. Skill progression isn’t bad.. but keep removing skills. And see how fast people start pulling the WoW cata effect. Keep nerfing the game. That will happen I would bet on it.

While it isn’t accessible yet, there is a new single-boss operation on Ziost called “Heart of Ruin”, which contains a single boss – the “Colossal Monolyth”. Think an operation like Toborro’s Courtyard, Xenoanalyst, or The Eyeless
