112 replies on “SWTOR New Crafting Items and Schematics in 4.1”
I could already craft 208 earpiece on my Cyber.
Relics are quite confusing. I’d say the 200/208/212 will be available as schematics while you can RE the 212 for 216. With at least a dozen people, maybe more (at least on my server) able to craft 220 relics, this is quite underwhelming. I guess I can now have half decent relics on my crafting toons still in 192 gear.
The 208 earpiece you can craft now on your cybertech will get boosted to rating 212 gear. The new 208 tier is really just to bridge the gear gap for new players without requiring conquest or operation mats.
I have 12 toons, and I could not be bothered to farm HM priority operations with ALL of them to get a 12.5% shot at a 224 or 220 relic, so most of my toons (except from the 2-3 I do raids mostly with) have PvP relics (lvl 204) or even lvl 192-198 relics.
The new 212 relics will require only green and blue mats, when for a 216/220 relic I would have to spend 2/3 Dark Matter Catalysts. It’s obvious I will prefer the 212 lvl solution. This is an excellent new option in my opinion.
I agree, it’ll be nice to be able to upgrade my relics without breaking my bank at the same time. Might even be able to sell a few!
Interesting. I guess spam gathering missions to get to 550 there, then spam crafting to get to 550 there. Doesn’t do my main any good it seems, (216 and 224 data crystal armor), but benefits alts
What? What? What!?
Black and White Color Crystal will be craftable?
Medium Gray/Medium Gray Dye will be in the game, and craftable?
MY DREAMS COME TRUE!
annoyed that the ranked crystal is now craftable (black white)
Lol man almost everyone that did ranked got that crystal
How is black-white a ranked crystal?
The Black-Silver crystals (probably gonna look near identical) are a reward from doing ranked.
I remember when they said they would be exclusive to PVP ranked – although technically, true black-silver is not black-white, it’s too dam similar.
Ya I’m kinda mad about that as well
gathering Exarch SA/FR MK1 etc relics are having stat increase seing the Exarch MK-26 relics have same stats as the MK1 tokens?
10 material types for one f#&@in Augment Kit.. This make the crating much more easier.. good F#&@IN JOB BIOWARE!!!
oh and dont forget to add some new HK Jetpack and one to five glitches and bugs that will make crafting TOTALLY UNUSABLE for about one or two week.. that would be great.. subscribers are excited and cant wait to pay their monthly charge..
make as many as u can now and just covert them in game when it goes lives, but i find it ridiculous that it going now gone need 10 mats where it cost 4 different mats before.
Im lost with 4 and 10, can you explain please whats going on?
Don’t worry about the 10 thingie, that was a screw up on our end. The correct mat costs are displayed now and it only uses 4 different mats.
O, thank you, i will.
Torcommunity database its showing that aug kits do still only use 4 types of mats. Its more likely to be accurate. It looks like SWTORdata has got the mats from the original mk-9 kits in 2.0 and 3.0 mixed in with the 4.1 mats.
The database had the mats from pre 4.1 shown in there too. Should be fixed now.
I was mad.. now i’m not! Thank you for clarification
Wtf… when they said things that previously used grade 8 mats will now use grade 9 mats, they meant grade 8 AND grade 9 mats… that’s bullshit.
Plot Twist: Its all going to be broken and crafting/using any of these new schems will be labelled an exploit and you’ll be permabanned
Edit: Plot twist means it’ll be something unexpected…therefore it wouldn’t be a plot twist at all
LOL, I was gonna say, not much of a plot twist at this point.
I am really glad for getting Black-White crystal’s schematics. Hate PVP.
I can’t wait for a crafted version of the Crest of the Dread Master cuz I hate PvE
Since Bioware likes their recolours, you might get your wish.
They added good color crystal colors, but we can’t see any of them in action yet 🙁 and also, lightsaber blades themselves still look like garbage in this game sadly.
Wow, good colour crystals from crafting? I must be dreaming!
Good stuff 😀
How does crafting for gear work in this game? Finish chapter nine with enough common crystals for an almost complete 208 set, do group content for the mats for 212 while looting 216 unless you really are bothering with hard mode flash points which have a recommended gear rating of 212. Or if you actually solo you farm weeklies for the elite crystals for those mats, and oops it takes less crystals for a 216 gear piece from the elite crystal vendor than what that many mats would cost.
It was said or at least implied these crafting changes would provide an alternative route for gearing solo players and I’m just not seeing it. Mods and relics are what solo players needed so at least those are there and some good color crystals and dyes.
Cool, a real big amount of complete useless craftitems….there is no lvl 65 content in this game besides that boring star fortresses.
all dailies in this game are affected by lvl sync, what makes gear meaningless. and if u wanna do grp content just play gf ops. u get bolstered and better gear than this crafted stuff. but as mentioned before gear is quite meaningless right now.
if they hed invested that time effort in doing a new op, it would have been much better
You think it took the time it would take to make an op on making this list? That op would be short and hardly sweet. Although with how things are going with their solo content I think I’d prefer an op about now and I’m a solo player a majority of the time. Too bad there’s no way chapter 11 could have an op, maybe chapter 12.
Disappointing to say the least, right now I can make 220 implants and ear pieces, but tomorrow 208 is the highest mods that can be made, lame.
You’ll still have your 220 craftables including mods, these are just new recipes and recipe changes.
Relics 212 for everyone!
Artusian Crystal and Charged Hypercloth should probably be classified as Premium, and not Artifact. They do appear to have blue color on their icons anyway (and it makes sense, since there is already another gemstone and another luxury fabric that appear to be artifact)
Oops they are both in fact prototype (blue). Premium is green. I have corrected them.
Yes, that’s what I meant, I sometimes mix these two names, but I know that artifact = purple, so I am somewhat useful 🙂
So there is likely a new Rep grind on Zakuul i assume to acquire some of these?
So these new armour sets, you make 208s, re them to get 212, re them to get 216, re them to get 220?.
I may be wrong, but doesn’t it seem that the new black/white colour crystal costs not vary much in mats? Was thinking of buying one of them now but it seems if I wait about a week after the launch of 4.1 they will be really cheep. or am I mistaken and the mats are really rare and difficult to get?
The mats aren’t that hard to get, so it’ll be way, way cheaper to make one than buy a cartel one.
Well the other thing is, is the cartel market crystals are actually the opposite in colour placing they are white in the center and black on the outside
i bet those people who bought the black/white crit crystal for 12mil are pissed off right now lol….
Maybe their are but it’s their business and if they bought those crystals… Well bad luck 😉
white black is the one from gtn. black/silver was a ranked reward from season 5/6. there has never been a black/white color crystal as far as i know.
technically its been in the games files since release but no one knew how to get it. supposedly was intended to be one of the swtor “secrets” like magenta. guess they just decided to release it to the mass.
This is the first time there has been a Black-white color crystal in the game.
There have only been White and White-Black crystals.
They have made crafting a little easier, so it’s a step in the right durection. However, they should do away with the skill grind and make crafting level based. What’s more, this need to make all these components before you even craft an item is just plain stupid and needing up to four of them is plain ridiculous! Have it so we only need one. Otherwise you are making crafting a grind! Oh, it would be nice to see the return of Green Premium gear to crafting.
What do you need green gear for?
Why not? The ability to craft sightly better Green Premium gear than the basic 190 quest awards as an option to making crafting components would allow us to craft cheap gear we can sell on the GTN, whilst allowing us to increase our skills at the same time.
I don’t know. I sell green stuff to the vendor. Since the game launched in 2011. I#m happy that I no longer have to RE green gear to get the blue ones.
That’s a fair point. The re-engineering the green gear was a pain. I take it back.
no one buys green gree on the GTN unless it’s to make an outfit
Whoever came up with the extra “assembly component” crap for crafting needs to be kicked square in the nuts.
Couldn’t agree more. They tried to improve crafting, but added this bullshit that only makes it more of a pain. Make no sense.
But I think it’s the same idea like the more awesome Companions, wich are just more boring.
i recon u should try crafting in swg than come back and complain u will see how easy it is in this game
I actually found it had some uses when leveling crafting as I could mass produce the assembly components to level and then save them until I needed/wanted to produce something in specific
while i do use the components almost exclusively to level crafting, it makes crafting actual items a much more convoluted process. instead of just gathering mats and crafting, you have to craft these over here to craft that over there, just to craft what you really wanted to craft in the first place.
Yes, but if you have multiple alts who could craft from the materials, this means you are turning the mats into things they can’t use to craft with. It’s an unnecessary middle step.
it’s so that they can ask for only 5 materials per item instead of 7 mats
and if they made the assembly components nonspecific (as in, that my armormech could use the components my armstech crafted) I’d actually be happy with this
but right now it’s not too great..
I couldn’t agree more.
“…there will be a limited time vendor that will take your Grade 8 mats and converts them to Grade 9 mats until patch 4.2 in March.”
I’m guessing they’re not getting rid of the grade 8 crafting materials entirely. Have they said, yet, which specific grade 8’s we can trade in and what equivalent grade 9 mats they will correspond? Wasn’t sure if it was a free for all until the special vendor goes away. Thanks.
I am assuming that all of the above 24 new mats can be bought with grade 8 mats… but I guess we’ll find out on Tuesday
“To help ease the player transition from Grade 8 to Grade 9, we have introduced a new Crew Skill vendor on both fleets that will sell Grade 9 materials for their comparable Grade 8 materials at a 1:1 ratio. *This new vendor is temporary and will be removed with Game Update 4.2 (Chapter XI)” from DevTracker
I expect all grade 8 mats to be trade-able for the corresponding grade 9 mats
the grade 8 mats are NOT however removed from the game whatsoever (but there won’t be much you can craft with them anymore)
grade 8 mats arent going away, they will be correctly use for lvl 55ish gear. the 4.0 version of crafting never made much sense anyway, using grade 8s or everything lvl 55 to 65 when the other 7 tiers were spread from 10 to 55.
the only real mistake is they should have made these changes with 4.0 instead of waiting and retroactively updating the lvl 60+ gear to use tier 9
Can someone tell me that tokens relics, ear pieces and implant get buff stats coz this mk-26 stuff are way to close to tokens? IMO if they won’t change mk-26 stats down or buff up token versions it will be another kick ass to whole raiding society…
If you go to the section that explains the 212+ relics, this is what it says: “As Bioware mentioned in their crafting changes post, the operation relics had their stats tweaked a little to give less endurance/mastery in exchange for more crit rating/shield rating.”
And there is an example of how the operation drop relics give critical/shield rating on top of the endurance and power stats (also a little bit more power)
Is this same principle carrying over to the crafted mk-2s as well? Right now they mirror the operation mk-1. maybe I’m just head pretzling myself over nothing, but do you know if those are staying as is or changing along with the rest of the curve?
I expect (and hope like hell) that they get the exact same changes as the token items (since apart from the name and binding rule, they’re the same thing)
I am ok with the Artifice changes. Now I don’t need slicing! And I get new color crystals and dyes woo!
No, but it’s equally bad, now we need armstech components… though I’m assuming that’s once again a f***up on their part and will be fixed gods know when.
Is artifice back in business?
It was never out of business. At least not according to my main artificer’s bank account.
Hey Dulfy, thanks for the nice recap, but didn’t you make a typo in the adrenal table ? Artifact crit adrenal gives +828 whereas all the others give +825.
rip vault
I can just imagine the singing stone relic activating in the middle of a battle and just start singing Carmen habenera and your opponent just stopping and going “…whats wrong with you people ?”
i really wish they would have made those rakata look alike and not war hero, war hero can already be bought on gtn, rakata looks have came back partially but still missing some variations
Holy info dump, batman. Thanks as usual, Dulfy.
Cranoran Thread from Treasure Hunting – home this is mistake. It should be Archaeology crafting material mission.
*hope
The funny part about the crafting changes is that this is what should have been available to us when 4.0 launched. We are getting these changes 4 months late, and forced to act like BioWare planned all this is the past month. I would rather you give me a product that is ready to begin with. For starters, if you needed more time to complete this then let us know instead of blowing smoke up our asses and act like you just did us a favor. I hope the many crafters that left the game are ready to return.
Yes…only “crafters that left” can craft.
the funny part is you waited 4 months to post something stupid. They should have a moron check before they allow people like you to post thoughts.
Can’t wait to see the fire red crystal. But I’m prepared to be disappointed (by it’s looking like the boring orange/yellow we already have).
where are the black cyan and black white crystal schematics?
Idk I looked on the crafting trainer and it’s not there… I was really looking forward to the black white crystal.
Least I’m not the only one wondering where they are. Think they might add them in 4.2? The fact that 2 days after 4.1 they needed to patch it means that they might still be having trouble. I’m also looking forward to the black white crystal.
They are implementing it later today
I’ll be a week absorbing all this. Thanks for putting it together!
No black-white or black-cyan schems. The amethyst looks like the original purple and fire red looks like blood red (slight difference). Also, currently synthweavers and armstechs can’t craft. Pretty disappointing.
My Synthweaver was able to craft, but my Armormech showed no schematics even after I trained. Haven’t checked any other, jsut one Artificer, one Synthweaver, and one Armormech (I have at least 2 of each, many alts).
Hey Dulfy, where does all this information come from? Because, it isn’t from Erics post. And some of the items mentioned aren’t in the game, like two of the color crystals.
Is this from any official source?
Yeah, I was wondering that myself.. What happend?!
The information was mined from the data files for patch 4.1, which were posted up on the CDN server sometime Sunday I believe.
Also – the two color crystal schematics mentioned are listed in the files as not being learned from the trainer (flag ‘taught by trainer’ set to false), so they may be in the game but obtained through some other means not yet known, or they could be tied to content which hasn’t been released yet.
there is an issue with the schemes. At around 7am pst there will be another update, where they will fix the missing items and the new story’s lag and playthrough issues
Ok so all the new grade 9 mats are from Zakuul Node from what i see. Does that mean those toons that never started KOTFE cannot gather grade 9 mats any longer? That would be insane cause how are we going to have every gathering skill on one toon? I have 22 toons but just playing thru KOTFE once with one toon is enough for me given that its the same thing whatever choice we make. Another BW schemes to force us to play thru again?
not necessarily, doing the grade 9 missions should be able to get you the mats, either that or look on the gtn, it will be sold there. I run through it just to pick up things more effectively, but you do not NEED to do that in order to get them.
Yeah that will be another way but normally i craft to sell & if i have to buy the mats from here on to sell, that will hurt the ROI. If it was true that we have to complete KOTFE to farm nodes, its really a bad game design to force ppl to play being there is so little content they have to offer
where can i get the schematic of Advanced Black-White Color Crystal (Eviscerating/Hawkeye/Indestructible, Artifice 450) from ?
Where is black white crystal?when they add in game this crystal
there is an issue with the schemes. At around 7am pst there will be another update, where they will fix the missing items issue and other problems as well
Where to find the vendor to do the mats exchange.
OK so i’m not the only one. I can’t find him/her/it anywhere. Maybe we have to recruit the mat exchange vendor via broken Alliance Alert
the vendor is located right next to the crew skills vendor, they should be named “Jawa Peddler” at least that’s how it was yesterday
He is hiding behind the barrels next to the Crew skills vendor
Is there news on the Artifice Black-Cyan and Black-White crystals? Not on trainer. And I can’t make any purple crystals.
Would like to know that too
Okay, so where are the schems for Artifice Black-Cyan and Black-White crystals? I have not seen them available.
Also, why do relics require Armstech components?
Dulfy, can you please clarify why it says Black-White and Black-Cyan crystals are craftable from the Artifice trainer? Like, are there schematics? Because they don’t appear to be from the trainer by default, and GTN sure doesn’t have any.
What’s the cheapest thing to R/E for Mk-9 slot components?
