- Leaving Sakan Do’nair’s room after he has been killed, but before using the hangar deck console will no longer stop the console from playing its conversation during the Boarding Party Flashpoint.
Items + Economy
- In support of the new Relics being craftable, we wanted to ensure Relics found in Operations were still superior to crafted and Mission Relics. As such, we have changed the stat allocations of Relics found in Operations. The abilities of these Relics remain unchanged, however they now have an additional stat added on to them. DPS & Healing Relics have lost a little bit of Endurance to gain Critical Rating, and Tank Relics have lost a little bit of Mastery to gain some Shield Rating. This only affects Relics that drop from Operations or are sold on the Glowing/Radiant Data Crystal vendor with Rating 216 or higher.

Darn.. I was hoping they would put in the ability to sort comps by influence level. Still I like pretty much everything here.
And still haven’t fixed the comps speaking each other’s lines. Getting real tired of Sgt. Scourge
no note of server monitor or minefield marker being fixed!
“Players can no longer toggle off the “Dusted with Snowflakes” buff that is received when hit with a Snowball.” Thanks, we really needed to sparkle all day. No, really.
Yeah, that is really, utterly ill-conceived by BW:A, being unable to click them off is just going to strain people’s goodwill, especially mine, as I click them off the instant they appear.
same
I always carry the snowball with me to use on players that steal the quest node or treasure chest while I’m fighting the mobs that guard it. So thumb up for making that punishment more permanent.
I might feel differently if there was only the buff, and no lingering snowflake effect.
“Players can no longer toggle off the “Dusted with Snowflakes” buff that is received when hit with a Snowball.” Are you serious BioWare? I now cant farm my Snow Covered Parcels. Atleast it will annoy the all the obnoxious raid-obsessed players who hate snowballs.
There are other easy ways to farm them.
Thats not the point. Come next years life day event i would have to go to the fleet or another public area and get the npcs or other players instead of my companions in a stronghold.
If you put all of your comps in a room, by the time you finish hitting them all the first one is already debuffed. Or the lifeday droids, those i dont believe it matters. The easiest way for me to farm them was during fps, or just other missions and before I attacked anyone I just hit them with a snowball. It took a little longer but I at least got other rewards then just the parcels when I did that. I do think this will annoy those who the obnoxious raid-obsessed players who hate snowballs the most.
If you have the snowball cannon, it significantly reduces the wait time to throw the next snowball. By the time you make it around your stronghold room (assuming there’s still a max of 25 NPCs), the buff will not have worn off. Flashpoints probably wouldn’t work, but maybe on low level planets you could run through tossing snowballs out every ~6 seconds on NPCs and let your companion kill anyone who doesn’t de-aggro.
Best bet is high population areas on fleet, but it still doesn’t have the mindless convenience that was clicking off the buff from your companion. That was so easy and quick, I can see why they got rid of that option.
And all the obnoxious filthy casuals who hate them as well.
I’m guessing death will still clear them, so I’m not worried.
“In order to resolve cases of players getting more materials from disassembling items than it took to craft them, the amount of Crafting Materials received from disassembling has been reduced.”
…oh great.
I know right? They are so good at streamlining benefits in this game. *eyeroll*
No mention of new pack being added…? For real? :/ We gonna be stuck with the strategy alliance one for three months?
They confirmed on twitter that new pack will be out tomorrow. They just didn’t add to the patch notes I guess.
Got worried that they decided to push it further in order to remove the rancor that caused some “controversies.”
Akk Dog Customization, you say?
Now we need Lana and Koth customizations
yes, definitely!
Still looking for the ability to give companions gifts in a much easier and quicker way than clicking 3000 plus times.
If you have a gaming keyboard/mouse with macro keys….then you can use that =)
True but It is against their rules. I can see BW holding that against people to be honest. There needs to be a better in game way to do it instead of clicking thousands of times and waiting on a cool down.
Well…then I’m “breaking” their rules ^^
Always use that macro when I have a stack far up in the double or triple digits.
Give them gifts in stacks or combine it into a supergift or something =P
Thats my thinking. There just needs to be a better way in game not a macro system or having to download autohotkey so I don’t break my mouse. A better way in game.
“Corrected an issue that caused certain Marriages to not be acknowledged. This fix will not work retroactively and provide the missed in-game mail, but any future content will work correctly.”
Wondering if this has any effect on the fact that my female main who did KofTE 1-9 did not receive notification of a romance with the [Flirt] I need to see one of you with Koth. Annoying. I only found out it was supposed to appear when my Smuggler got to the end of Chapter 9 a couple days ago.
Are they going to do anything about the “retroactive” romances that are screwed up or is my main forever SoL and only alts going forward will have the correct romance flag?
hey look at this more Single player Content for an MMO this Makes perfect Sense bioware!
I like single player content, and my Mac tends to melt down when it comes to Ops and PvP, so I’m not bothered by it. But I suspect I am in a minority.
my point being its a MMO its designed to be catered towards groups of players.. something this game abandoned well over a year ago.. if they wanted to do Single player content they should just make a new Kotor.. not make the MMO community suffer because they only have the staff to just release Single player content.. put the nail in the coffin and be done with it i say
no one is forcing you to “suffer”. just stop playing, let those who enjoy it play and you dont even need to think about it.
so you’re okay with pay $120+ (by august) to play single player content that last maybe 1 hour a month? yeah that makes perfect sense
I really dont care if you think it makes sense or not. It doesnt make sense to me that people pay to get cable TV, but that doesnt mean its not worth if for some people.
Thats a weird way to look at it. Most games an expansion comes out and you get the whole thing at once then nothing for about a year or two.
What they are doing is distributing the expansion over the course of a year so the new content lasts longer. Just as if you got the whole expansion at once, you are paying to pvp, play alts, rp, craft and whatever else you want to do in the game…
I don’t know about you, but I play most single player content more than once. I get my money’s worth from the single player stuff. In fact, I consider all the single player content to be one of the best parts of the game; better than what I see in many single player games.
That being said; I’m not blind to the fact that group content is being neglected. Personally I think Bioware’s best bet would be to integrate a group option into most of their upcoming single player content, but I doubt it will happen. As much as I love the direction SWTOR is headed in I can’t deny the possibility that it will hurt the game in the long run.
Yes because some group content is somehow single player content…
Are we playing the same game, here? Just go back to Crowfall or something, where people like you belong.
You deserve your mac to melt down for using a mac in the first place!! :p
That is actually kinda true. Macs are fantastic for some things.. but gaming is not one of them. Not that I wish your mac would melt down.. but I dont know anyone who games on a mac..
OK, this was hyperbole. It doesn’t really melt. It gets as laggy as hell when there are a lot of special effects on the screen. (Usually only gets up to ~70-75℃, which is still in the safe zone)
Yeah, you’re right, Macs aren’t for gaming. But a friend told me “Hey, we’re getting back into SWTOR, let me buy you a copy of Windows 8.1 so you can rejoin us”, and it did work.
I loved SWTOR back when I was in early access in 2011-2012, and had to quit because my computer couldn’t hack it. I’m glad to be back under these conditions even.
If it works then thats all you need
Yeah I do solo content and occasional grouping with friends and the Mac works good enough for me
haha, nice
Im shocked it even runs on a mac!
Dual booted with Win 10. Because it’s Iris 5100 graphics it is on the lowest setting, but yeah it does work.
You suck rascal, go study math now.
awl you one of those moronic people saying the NiM rancor been out for 3 years? i sowwy i upset your feelings
He didn’t say anything, moron.
You don’t have to play it rascal
“Corrected numerous instances of incorrect Mission scaling.” I wonder what this is in aid of?
The crafting intro mission and the stronghold intro mission are both level 55 regardless of player level.
I encountered some bonus missions granting 6 xp or a few hundred credits rather than awards appropriate to level.
“The “A Kindly Old Monster” Alliance Alert Mission no longer requires completion of the “Stalking the Score” Alliance Alert Mission. It now requires the completion of Knights of the Fallen Empire Chapter IX: The Alliance, and the “To Find a Findsman” Alliance Alert Mission.”
Finally, no more farming Jagganath targets on Hoth….
There are a lot of missions where I just do them on my main and on the character who can get them without doing the missions. Nice that Lokin is no longer behind a PITA wall.
At least they’re fixing codex entries.
No kidding. I’ve been bug reporting them for months.
I’ve been bug reporting numerous missing / defective codex entries since 2012 and nothing happend. RotHC destroyed numerous codex entries (especially all the final bosses from flashpoint) and many more are still mapped missing (3 x lore in dromund kaas) or mapped for a wrong instance or planet or not avaiable to a certain fraction at all.
Meanwhile I don’t care any more. I’m playing only out of fun, stopped raiding, stopped pvp, stopped trying to get achievements (still some can not be aquaire at all like the one with the party java I don’t have) and just come by for a few hours per week for having some fun besides other hobbies.
Concering the Sithspawn entrie: worked until 4.0 and was destroyed by the chanced heroic quests.
Therefore – in my opinion – its not a real fixing but a correction of the errors and bugs they created with 4.0
But besides of this my sub is still running because playing it as f2p or preferred, with all the restrictions … no way! Those few bucks per month don’t hurt me but I’m also not spending any more money into this, just waiting until end of the year … Hail Star Citizen.
“Duels now end as intended instead of leaving the players in a duel-flagged purgatory, doomed to battle for all eternity.”
Oh c’mon Who was that hurting?
Random duelists, obviously. I do like the language used in the update though. 😀
Each boss in NiM has a 5% chance to drop a 224? Just give it a 0% chance to drop 224. You screwed it up already. So what if the last boss drops 224? NiM Styrak/Brontes/Council are legitimately hard fights.
They already announced it will be fixed properly in 4.2 next month, they’ll all have 100% then.
“Corrected numerous instances of incorrect Credit and Experience Mission Rewards across the Galaxy.”
i got a baaaaaaaad feeling about that.
It could (hopefully) just be that it currently says one thing and gives you another. ‘Ive noticed that the charge to fly to several planets from my ship say that the cost to fly there is one thing, like say 900 credits, but then when I do it, it charges me like 1500 credits instead.
i actually never noticed that. i just QT anywhere i can with the unlocked abilities. hopefully they just fix that, and not getting the heroic mission rewards nerfed.
“Players can no longer toggle off the “Dusted with Snowflakes” buff that is received when hit with a Snowball.”
Why.
I saw that :/
Yea wtf is up with that?! I hate those stupid snowballs…
I’m going to assume it’s because people would debuff themselves so they could be hit again.
Sigh….fuck the snowballs
maybe they will sell a snowball proof jacket on the cartel market
Some sort of immunity buff/debuff would go a long way to keeping most players happy.
I do feel somehow less fierce with snowflakes and pixie dust floating around my black robes >_>
Exactly, to not be able to get rid of that is going to be super-annoying.
They can call it the “Tampon Jacket.”
:-p
I get the feeling its because people were getting together with buddies to hardcore farm parcels during lifeday…I can only see that being an issue if the stuff from the vendor weren’t BoP (which, unless I’m mistaken, are BoP/BtL)
I’ve seen groups of such working, ops group size at that.
Yes, curse these players who take the tools given to them by the devs to reach goals set by the devs! How dare they partake in group activities during an event that focuses on player interaction?
People will complayn and in typical BW fashion they will disable the snowballs outside the lifeday event.
Fine by me. No reason for them to be enabled outside of the lifeday event in the first place.
Now if they could just let us customize/change appearances of the companions gained in KOTFE that would be nice.
Too many generic Lanas, Therons, etc… walking around.
I wish i could give Lana a proper Dread Master Outfit. On the other hand, i have pierce in full dread master set and with 50 influence. It is not what i wanted, but it is something alr.
“Removed the X Bonus Series Mission Terminals found on Y. The
Mission chain can now be accepted directly from yada yada once they reach
level 60.”
Um.. why level 60? Those bonus series were all available to low level characters (30-40) before. Worse, this means that f2p players whom don’t have the expansion packs can no longer do those bonus series. >_>
they probably figure with the newly accelerated leveling compared to vanilla swtor, that no one is going to bother doing those until fully leveled up anyways…
Yeah, this is annoying me as well.
I like to follow stuff chronologically – using the wonderful timelines put up in various places – especially the Bonus Series. I always forgot Alderaan because it triggers later, did it and loved it. What made it annoying was you often were already above the max level for it when you found it, which isn’t an issue anymore with planet scaling. So I’m really intrigued why they removed Hoth, Alderaan and Nar Shaddaa – which are clearly at their specific times – instead of just removing all to level 60.
Why Tatooine, Voss, Belsavis, Corellia and co still at their levels?
Because nobody at BioWare has a clue what they are doing. None of them ever played this game.
Who will go to Nar Shadda (…) after he turned 60 expecting to find new bonus missions?
Those who choose to do the seeker droid/macrobinocular mission chains, I guess…
If I had to guess, I’d say it’s a case of having content available at max level. Not saying I approve of it. Just saying it’s my theory
I think it has something to do with the post KotFE Alliance recruitment. Alderaan and Hoth already have former companions to recruit and data suggests that a few new ones will occur on Nar Shaddaa. My guess is that if they add other recruitment missions on Tatooine, Voss and Balmora(Star Fortress planets) they will be bumped up to the 60 difficulty level too.
“Companions are now sorted based on their
Influence amount in the Crew Skill window. Your Companion with the
highest influence will be at the top, while the one with the least
amount of influence will be at the bottom. ”
They Just added this to the notes
As if this is of any importance at all
It kinda is….
We won’t get customizations until after KOTFE is finished. Then it’ll either be customizations or the new comps will be allowed to equip armour like the reset of our comps.
I 100% believe this. even if you change the color of Lana’s lightsaber it is still red it all of the clips. They wouldnt put the extra work into making each of them custom for how you made your comps look. Once all of that is done, I could see them letting you change how they look once you finish the last chapter.
finally i dont have to run to vendor on other planet just to find out that i forgot to take out tokens from cargo bay…
“Players can no longer toggle off the “Dusted with Snowflakes” buff that is received when hit with a Snowball.”
………..
Well, you guys just made my raid nights a lot more f***ing annoying, since I won’t be able to click off when the token annoying fake-girl throws snowballs at me and giggles stupidly.
hey, what about when the un-token dude does it?
Can’t remove snowflakes?
GOOD FUCK YOU CASUALS, YOUR BAR RP (AKA ERP) IS NOW RUINED.
Signed,
Someone who earned their rancor w/o abusing mommy’s credit card
…. you’re an idiot of serious.
it’s not the roleplayers (BTW I know many roleplayers who raid, including hard mode and nightmare mode) who are gonna be screwed the most by this, it’s the raiders whose computers have eneugh trouble with particle effects as it is.
Aww, that’s cute. The little boy is using big boy words. Who wants to put some soap in this little twat’s mouth, eh?
Signed, A Decent Human Being
Bugs I am hoping to see with this expansion:
-All companions use the audio for the Gonk Droid
-All item piles we had in our inventories were accidentally topped up to 9,999
-Grass renders up to 200 yards, but is now hostile, and 10 levels higher than players
-Dueling now unflags both players to each other, but flags them to everyone else, you may now duel on the fleet
-You can no longer remove snowflakes, each subsequent attempt increases the volume and mass of the snowflakes.
-Dasta mounts are now more audible, players will now find out their engine sound is an audio loop of Eric Musko eating Captain Crunch.
-The new decorations that drop in Sm/hm/NiM operations scale based on difficulty. They are all themed penis sculptures.
” -You can no longer remove snowflakes, each subsequent attempt increases the volume and mass of the snowflakes.”
you sir are one really evil bastard if this happens im forming a lynch mob just for you!
you forgot to add:
-All NPCs now throw snowballs all year ’round.
Naq, the best poster on Dulfy. Had to get away from the screen just to physically recuperate…
All while being labelled as an exploit, resulting in a permaban and the loss of all genitalia as further punishment
– All companions use the audio for the Gonk Droid
I would pay for that one…
Apparently you forgot to mention extended maintenance due to technical problems.
“Bugs I am hoping to see” not “Bitter ramblings of an Mmo divorcee”
Throwing snowballs was just a little fun feature.
But now it will raise hate among the players.*
Well done, for no reason they ruined it.
There was this Sith guy on imperial fleet, angry because people threw funny looking snowball stuff at him. Now when nobody can turn the effect of, there will be many more like him.
hmmm…
http://imperialentanglements.thecomicseries.com/comics/155
I Totally agree with your comment and others sentiment on this issue. Before reading the comment section here, I was… why are they wasting their time on this, an Event that comes around once a year. So, once again, someone at Bioware has a pet-peave and got a big Bonus for acting and correcting this severe blatant mis-use of an ability. CONGRATs
Whooo gras. I think the oculists in the Star Wars galaxy invented something new to cure our short sighted characters.
I hope some day they can see enemy NPCs that are more far away than the lenght of an arm!
“Alliance Supply Crates no longer drop Premium Quality gifts or courting gifts.”
Is this their fix for the courting gifts? Stop giving them to us?
The snowflake thing seems… like a waste of time.
Maybe the idea behind it is this: I like tossing snowballs at people. Now that I know they’re stuck with it maybe I won’t toss so many.
Maybe?
Trolls will start at this point, not stop.
😉
Prepare to see more snowflakes after the pacth than in December.
BioWare really hit the right time to change this, when the event is long gone. This change clearly couldn’t wait till next December. It had to be done now. It’s really important. I hope they stopped fixing real bug to take care of the snowflakes. They really know what it important and what not.
I agree, though I have a feeling this was a VERY easy bit of code to change
Buahahaha! Now people can’t remove my snowflakes! (In serious though, this was done to stop people doing snowflake farming
I have to say, it’d make ALOT more sense if we had a dusted with snowflakes debuff (not buff), it should just be that and no visual/audio effects lingering; it’s not as if peeps wouldn’t know we had it, and it would save alot of goodwill. I could be dusted, have the debuff, and without the visual effects I could really care a damn, THAT’S what BW:A should do regarding this.
or make the visual apperance a seperate buff, that way you can turn em off if you desire or leave em up, while preventing the farming.
That’s true, like we have with tracer missile/gravity round and sundered, which used to be all one; in 3.x they separated them, they could do the same with this, make the visual effect an off-clickable buff, and the actual player-responsible thing a debuff (cannot be clicked off under any circs).
Probably, but then again the real farming was on gift droids. Much faster than snowballing you companion in your stronghold.
I love the snowflakes.
“•Force Stasis may now be activated without a melee weapon equipped.”
Finally, the combat changes we’ve been waiting for.
Great changes!!! I cannot tell you just how much of a difference activating Force Stasis without a weapon will do to my playstyle (or lack of it). And Plasmatize… How many people did I see complaining that it’s visual effect just had to be improved??? Nevermind making Forcequake at least half as cool as Force Storm… Noooooo, that’s not what the players asked for… Plasmatize, that’s the real deal… Last time they did something remotely as cool as this one my Merc had Quickshots replaced by an ability in which he does a “thumbs up” when he finishes… A Bounty Hunter doing a thumbs up…
Now where did I leave my snowflake???
I can tell you exactly why. BW and EA need tax incentives
https://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Small-Businesses-&-Self-Employed/Tax-Benefits-for-Businesses-Who-Have-Employees-with-Disabilities
Well, with Force Quake it’s not even a question of “cool”, on top of it it’s also bugged and the animation cuts off after the first tick. They acknowledged it as a bug… and that was that. 🙁
“Increased the max grass render distance to 200 meters (up from 64). This setting can be adjusted via a new slider found in the Graphics settings.”
If this is true, I’m gonna be happy… =)
”Nightmare Operations now drop 224 Rating items:
Each boss has a 5% chance to drop a 224 token”
Have they completely lost their minds?
I’m just lost for words with this one
They already announced it will be back to 100% when 4.2 drops. You’re a bit late to the party.
http://dulfy.net/2016/01/25/swtor-nightmare-mode-will-drop-guaranteed-224-gear-with-4-2/
Thanks but doesn’t explain the insanity of implementing this in the first place.
If the change in 4.1 patch isn’t going to stay then why bother applying it all.
Bioware logic I suppose.
Because when they launched 4.0, the NiM bosses only dropped 220, and the only way to get 224 was the featured HM Ops (maybe the last boss of NiM dropped 224, but that was the only one). This change is the fix they were able to get through in time for this patch, and they are working on makinjg sure the 100% drop rate will work correctly, ths the delay in implementing 100% drop rate. This is not a decrease in drop rate, it is actually an increase, and stepping up to the expoected drop rate.
So, with your logic, never make a patch that changes something that might change in the near future?
thats no where near what I said.
They have applied a drop rate to nightmare ops today knowing full well it’s wrong and will change it in a patch in the future. My logic is thinking why add the change today at all ? just leave it out and in 4.2 add the 100% drop rate…whats the point in adding the 5% drop rate today?
Therefore no reason to go for nightmare ops until 4.2 … at least in my opinion
Good news:
There was a missed note for 4.1 that came up internally today:
Companions are now sorted based on their Influence amount in the Crew
Skill window. Your Companion with the highest influence will be at the
top, while the one with the least amount of influence will be at the
bottom.
Adding it now.
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=8787013#post8787013
Tait told SWTOR_Potato on Twitter that they will be sorted by the total number of Influence points over the Influence level, meaning two Influence level 25 companions may not be equal if one has more Influence points than the other. Otherwise, they will be in alphabetical order.
Hope that there are more companions to recruit! But sounds good!
There should be 2 more to get. Kaliyo and Blizz.
and HK-55
Firebrand (Spoiler if somebody still doesn’t know and doesn’t want to know: Kaliyo), Blizz and HK-55 are all mentioned in the patch notes. So they are not 1, 2, 3 more.
I am not sure how you were confused. The guy said that they are releasing 2 more companions with this patch, Kaliyo and Blizz. The real answer is 3 more companions, since he forgot to mention HK. That is all.
Hmm, not that much :/
Yeah, but I mean much more^^
so… what about the damn tactical fps weekly fix? Istill can’t get credit for tactical flashpoint on any toon, even those noted on mission description..
How is it that I have never seen anyone else complain about this? Probably you do not have every single tactical selected when you queue up.
If you have ANY flashpoint quest in your log the random will not give you credit, it will only count if you have no flashpoint quests in your log
Alliance Supply Crates no longer drop Premium Quality gifts or courting gifts. Why?!? was already a grind fest just trying to max one of these characters out.
It’s actually a good thing: Premium Quality are the green ones, a.k.a. the shittiest ones, so you’ll only get blue/purple (in other words: better).
And nobody really accepted courting gifts. As far as I know, the only one that’d get any (even if extremely low) influence from them were Nico Okarr and, suprisingly, M1-4X
Nadia was accepting them from my female Jedi Consular and giving 50 affection points for them. I had wondered about that.
Oh. Well, I was talking about the companions you have in KotFE thus far. *shrugs*
Ah, i totally misread that thinking they were getting rid of companion gifts in total from the packs. xD
Talos Drellik is the only one who accepts them on my characters.
Interesting how the most talked about item in the comments appears to be the snowball buff/ debuff. Guess I’m not the only one with the cannon still in my quick bar.
TBH, I hate the change that we can’t remove it. Not because I exploited it, but because I hate having it on me.
One of the best looking updates in recent memory. Keep it up Bioware.
General
Increased the item stack limit to 9,999 units.
Does that incluse crafting resources?
Yes
cool that will free up a ton of my legacy hold space. Was a full time beta tester been playing off and on since so you can imagine how much resources I have taking up space.
As long as you organize your crafting resources as stacks. Yes.
Anybody get a sense of the size of the patch?
sounds huge.
Agreed. Haven’t seen a download number but just got the “Reorganizing data…” response.
first file was just over 4GB. i have it downloaded and would say with
the rest of the files it was 4.5 gig in total size. servers are slow
and kept disconnecting. ended up using a thumbdrive to move the entire
EA folder to my other 2 computers.
17:10 and 3.55 GB to go. I think it wont be ready on my computer when the servers are ready to go.
Can’t even start downloading here. It’s giving me some BS about a network error.
You may check if your harddrive has enough space… because there is no error message that tells you so if that’s the case.
I got some misleading erros from the launcher because of that in the past.
Nah looks like it was something on their end; it’s working now. Thanks though 🙂
It’s usually a plus to give the specific error you are receiving. I work in tech support. Not giving the specific error doesn’t like folks like us anything to go on.
I’m downloading fine.
first file was 4.1 gig. rest of the files are smaller so in total I would say 4.5 gig. it was fast at first then it would stop saying network error 310. i paused the download and restarted it. finally got it finished then used a thumbdrive to move the ea directory to other computers.
“Network Error 310” and “wait until after maintenance to patch.” Are you fucking kidding, Bioware?
I got that a lot as well. keep hitting pause and play on the download and it will finish. the first file is over 4 gig in size but after that the rest of the files are under 300MB
Maybe the error won’t show up after maintenance is concluded.
wth, I have no pause/play button in the launcher.
pause/play button is only on the non-streaming client I think. I could be wrong tho, as it’s been a long time since I used the streaming one.
bottom left corner
There is none.
Weird, it’s there for me (on top of the progress bar, left of the word “Downloading”). I forget if I have BitWrecker turned on or off, I’m not at home right now so I can’t check – that might affect whether it appears.
Anyway, like I said the pause/resume thing didn’t really work for me, and in the end I just gave up; I’ll try patching again later.
I started patching at like 16.00-16.30, and finished at 18.00-18.15. But no servers.
I like how they manage to make each update break in a different yet spectacular way
For me this sort of works, but not really – I get about 2 seconds of downloading before it breaks again. Since I have 2.3G to go, I think I’d have to pause/unpause approx. 10,000 times to make a difference…
I did that too a few times, and it has since stopped at 3.82GB left…. it doesn’t seem to be able to reconnect after that.
*sigh*
Another BW patch F…up got to love it network error 310 for me too
On my desktop with 8.1 workd ok. On my lep with 7 it gives the 301 error
“Today’s maintenance window has been extended, and we will update you as soon as we have more info.”
someone quick make a picture of Eric Cartman pointing saying “Ah hah… you thought you had early access today”
Lol Another we do not know why our patch is messed up But will get it fixed if we can
Source?
From their twitter
Damn you beat me to it
I wish they would tell us what was wrong instead of leaving us in the dark like this… ahh modern day gaming industry.
“We are extending our 4.1 maintenance due to issues with external network connectivity. […]”
https://torcommunity.com/database/developer-posts/1344-9-maintenance-9-february-2016
You’re welcome.
Thanks, but still i had no idea they told us and we have to rely on external sites or regularly check the forums to find out the reason.
Don’t expect them to log ingame and post stuff on the admin channel ^^
A couple of words on the twitter update could of helped, maybe i should have explained more clearly
Then don’t. Trust no one, trust nothing you read. It’s all a conspiracy.
I don’t understand how they consistently over promise and under deliver. You’d think after the first 73 times their maintenance ran at least an hour over schedule they might learn and start 2 hours earlier? I guess these are the same minds that un-wrote the MK-9 slot from the game in 4.0 only to reintroduce it in 4.1 😛
They’ve messed up your hopes 73 times so far, and you’re still expecting them to deliver? What does that say of you?
Where exactly did he mention that he was expecting them to deliver?
“I don’t understand how they consistently over promise and under deliver.”
So lack of comprehension = expectations?? :/
I say “I’ll have your heat pump back up and running by noon”, then proceed to fail in my efforts until finally the job is done at 9 pm. I have over promised and under delivered. Now you know.
Why is it nobody understands rhetorical questions?
/ducks thrown objects
Sarcasm, exaggeration and rhetoric… Food of the gods and understood by so few hahaha.
Heh BioFAIL
To be fair to BioWare its not their fault its been delayed, its their external networking partners…
Well I could agree with you… but last times BW always fuck up maintenace… They are focused on their epic story telling but they are blind taht sience then they fuck up whole game…
And you know this how?
https://torcommunity.com/database/developer-posts/1344-9-maintenance-9-february-2016
All you know is that’s the excuse they give, could be total bs…
If getting the 310 error your swtor gaming experience today will be watching the fever meter and hitting (pause/play/pause) play to get the download to push through. You get a tasty saltine cracker if you get to the end of the download.
Once download is complete you will also be congratulated with a 224 random armor sent to your mailbox.
Hmm… would using the swtor pre-downloader tool work ? At least you could download the biggest part (~4.7 GB).
And for the 224 armor… the servers needs to be back online for this LOL
I’m having the same (310) issue on my end, and have tried both the launcher and pre-downloader, but no luck. Such a nuisance. 🙁
lol It will intresting to see how that random 224 goes over
Clock is running next to 20:00 soon. Will I get my early access today?
Nyet, no early access for you
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svSGKJFSl-8
I think most of us are concerned about the game being back up and running.
C’mon, by now, you should have known that “early access” in swtor is not a “subscriber reward”, but a “subscriber punishment”.
Unless, of course, their metrics revealed to them that those who remained subscribed after 4.0 are, in fact, masochist … in which case, I guess, it works as intended.:-))
“early access” is swtor code for “beta test”
“early access” should had been on sunday.. this is just a big ‘fuck you’, cause when did they “released” content 2 days after the update???
I guess it should be “Sub on the 1st of [Month] to play on release or be a sub later on in the month to get 2 days late access”
Not looking forward to the snowball effect in PvP since we cant turn it off. stealthed players will have the flakes displayed. so look for snowflakes moving around.
lol… Are you serious? Does that really happen? And no I’m not pulling your strings, this is a genuine question. 🙂
Yeah, if you’ve been doing PvP and noticed stealhers getting dusted with snowballs, theres a reason. We can see the flakes when they are stealthed.
So, I wonder how long before BW announces patch 4.1a that actually works?
Probably in next extention 😉
Well… never mind the good content, this execution was so sloppy it made me want to cry. Simply a plethora of errors on my computer.
God damn it BW how come that you are the only one that screw up every single one maintanance sience 4.0 lunch… I hope u will have some recompense to us for all of this…
Nice joking xD
servers should be up now
They brought them down again
I just got out of class and was so excited they came on as soon as I could play… they are toying with me..
Like that:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AKfqZcDHAA
They took them right back down because of an issue, apparently.
“We have isolated the issue and are working on a solution, but have no ETA at this time. More info: http://bit.ly/1T4BKbR“
http://confetti.de/_slider//slider/images/konfetti-shooter-konfettikanonen-kaufen_jpg-1374689680.jpg
All heroic lockboxes now BOP. I guess no more level 60 gear on level 1 toon. sad face.
They weren’t BoP before? I thought they were.
The lockboxes themselves weren’t, the gear you got from opening them was though.(and had no level req).
How about fixing female Mirialan Smuggler Hair Color choices? Would have been an easy fix
“All Artifact Quality Artifice Hilts now require Artifact Quality Slicing Materials instead of Artifact Quality Treasure Hunting Materials.”
is that backwards?
Wow this is a long day. Wonder if they will do overtime to correct their problems.
The new 212 Relics are all Bind on Pickup, so… I guess I won’t be making them for all my characters. Or for anyone else. That was not a great decision.
Found two new hidden achievements with Blizz – one for correctly naming his friends, and one for giving them correct items without any error.
Area loot is broke. Have to pick up loot from each body. Awesome! No more rolling on loot when grouped for Heroics. So now when you get something that a guildie you’re running heroic with can use you have to stop and trade with them. Since you can no longer roll and pass. Awesome. Keep screwing things up.
Looks like 4.1 is the worst SWTOR patch so far.
Then you clearly have never played galactic starfighter
I haven’t tried it and don’t intend to, but I can’t fathom it’s worse than 4.0, but everything since has been pretty terrible.
About the Black-White Crystal…
Anybody found it anywhere?
I checked all reputation vendors if they sell the scematic. No success.
Right now I’m running slicing, investigation, … missions to check if that’s a way to get the scematic. But it looks like it isn’t.
Maybe the scematic is a boss drop?
I knew it is to good to be true.
got some from the chance cubes maybe that’s what they meant?
Where do you grind grade 9 mats nowadays? x: Thanks for any information.
the same places you got the level 8 resources. The moleytex and farium or whatever from the droids now give the new metals.
Thanks a lot!
Game’s still on suicide watch though.
I got the last of my fill for SWTOR. I will still point players towards this game, but otherwise, I think I’m finally done.
No mention of the nerf to influence rewards from companion gifts??
“Alliance Supply Crates no longer drop Premium Quality gifts or courting gifts”. The second part of the expression is true but I am getting more Premiun Quality gifts than before…
