This will bring up a list of all of your currently trained Crew Skills, your skill level, and any available Companions. Located next to the Companions you will see an icon which indicates your available Crew Skills, click that icon.

This will bring up the Crafting: user interface, it is here that will begin crafting items. You can select items to craft using the left side of the interface. On the right you can see the materials that are needed to craft each item. In order to gather crafting materials, you will want to learn the necessary Gathering Crew Skills. You train these in the same way that you learned your Crafting Crew Skill earlier in the guide.
Once you have your Gathering Crew Skill, you can gain materials by either sending your Companions on Gathering Missions, or by harvesting from gathering nodes out in the galaxy.
Now that you have the item you want to craft, and the materials required to make it, simply hit the “Craft” button in the bottom right corner and your chosen Companion will begin crafting. Crafting an item takes time, from a few seconds to several minutes. Once the item is done being crafted you will receive a message on your screen, and the item will be placed in your inventory.

As your Crafting Skill increases, be sure to visit your Trainer to learn new schematics!
Once you have reached skill level 550 with all six Crafting Crew Skills, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Crafting Virtuoso” to note that you have completed this objective.

Merciless

To complete the objective “Merciless”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and gain enough Dark side points to reach Dark V Alignment. As you play through story Missions, you will have many choices that you make. Often, these choices will have an impact and will grant you Dark or Light side points, depending on what you choose. During a conversation, you may see these icons which indicate that a choice will grant you Dark or Light points, respectively.

As you make these choices, you will accumulate points. As these points increase you will achieve new levels of Dark or Light side alignment. You can check how many points you have earned for each side on your character sheet (C by default) and looking on the left of your character.

Once your Character has made enough Dark side decisions to reach Dark V alignment, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Merciless” to note that you have completed this objective.

Righteous

To complete the objective “Righteous”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and gain enough Light side points to reach Dark V Alignment.

Once your Character has made enough Dark side decisions to reach Light V alignment, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Righteous” to note that you have completed this objective.

The Collector

To complete the objective “The Story Continues”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and find five new datacrons which are hidden around the galaxy. Datacrons are meant to be hidden items for you, the galactic explorer to discover, so we don’t want to ruin the fun of the discovery. To ensure that you know what to look for, we will use the new Voss datacron as an example. This datacron can be found in the Desolation Pass on Voss and looks like this:

Your character must discover and interact with all five of the new datacrons, they are located on the following planets:

  • Ilum
  • Makeb
  • Nar Shadaa
  • Oricon
  • Voss

Once your Character has discovered all five datacrons, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: The Collector” to note that you have completed this objective.

Big Earner

To complete the objective “Big Earner”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and earn 1,000,000 credits. You earn credits by doing almost any game in-game action including Missions, killing non-player characters, completing Flashpoints, and more.
Once your Character has earned 1,000,000 credits, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Big Earner” to note that you have completed this objective.

Big Spender

To complete the objective “Big Spender”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and purchase the Stronghold Decoration “Datacron: Dark vs Light” from Gwhirrye Nekor in the Alliance Camp Headquarters. This decoration costs 1,000,000 credits. In order to purchase this item, you must have a character which has completed Chapter IX: The Alliance.
Start by using your player ship to travel to Odessen. Once you have reached Odessen, head into the Alliance Camps. From there you will want to move on to the Underworld Logistics section of your headquarters. There you will find Gwhirrye Nekor!

Once your Character has purchased the Datacron: Dark vs Light, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Big Spender” to note that you have completed this objective.

Ruthless Efficiency

To complete the objective “Ruthless Efficiency”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and unlock the HK-51 Companion. In order to unlock HK-51 your character must be level 50. To start the Mission, begin by heading to Belsavis.

When your ship arrives on Belsavis, you will exit onto the Belsavis Orbital Station. From your ship hangar, head directly to the Belsavis Shuttle located on the other side of the Station. Activating the shuttle will offer you a few different travel options, you will want to select Daily: Section X.

When your shuttle has arrived in Section X, look immediately to the bottom of the ramp in front of you. There you will see a Droid, either G0-A1 for Imperial or B6-31 for Republic, with an available Mission. Speak with that droid to receive the Mission Fatal Errors for Imperial or The Fatality for Republic. Follow this Mission through to completion to unlock HK-51! Separately, if you have previously unlocked HK-51 on another character within your Legacy, you can use the Legacy Unlock feature for HK-51 to complete this objective.

Once your Character has unlocked the HK-51 Companion, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Ruthless Efficiency” to note that you have completed this objective.

More Info on Rewards

Once you have your Dark vs. Light character, playing through the event is a great way to explore the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ galaxy. The event rewards and objectives are built into six levels. As you complete each level’s objectives, you will earn amazing rewards including titles, mounts, armor sets, and Force-Bound Dark vs. Light packs.

One special reward will help in progressing your journey through the event. The Victorious Pioneer’s Armor set will provide an amazing 50% Experience Boost when you are wearing the complete set! You will earn the set in three parts, from Legacy Level through Champion Level. Check later in this blog for all of the details on how to unlock the Victorious Pioneer’s Armor set.

One of the big parts of the event is the dark and light decisions that players make throughout the game. We will be tracking each decision made across the galaxy during the event. By the end, players can earn either the Merciless Darth Hexid Companion or the Valiant Master Ranos Companion – depending if the majority of choices were light side or dark side. Note, that only dark and light decisions made during conversations count towards this total.
Before we get into the detailed breakdown, let’s highlight some of the standout rewards you will be earning during the event.

Force-Bound Dark vs. Light Packs
These packs are “best of” packs that are themed around the dark and light sides. Each pack contains two slots. One slot is a “best of” Dark vs. Light item, and the other slot will contain either a Companion Gift or an Experience Boost. Below are just a few examples of what items can be found in the pack:

  • Tulak Hord’s Armor Set
  • Satele Shan’s Armor Set
  • Revan Reborn’s Armor Set
  • Black/Black and White/White Dye
  • MSM J-37 Jetpack
  • Volatile Conqueror’s Lightsaber
  • Cathar Honor Sword
  • Unstable Arbiter’s Lightsaber
  • Two new Weapon Tunings, Dark-attuned and Light-attuned
  • And more!

A few extra details on the packs -the armor sets come in three separate boxes, Upper Body, Lower Body, and Supplementary. Each item that you earn from a Force-Bound Dark vs. Light Pack is Bind on Pickup, so they cannot be sold. However, these items do unlock in collections similar to other pack items.

Victorious Pioneer’s Armor Set
As mentioned before, this armor set is an entirely new type of armor set. If you manage to complete the entire set, you will earn 50% bonus experience boost while wearing it. Unlocking the entire set will require you to complete up to Champion Level. You earn the following pieces at the following Levels:

  • Legacy Level: Helm, Chest, Legs (25% bonus experience)
  • Valiant Level: Belt, Bracer (+15% bonus experience / 40% total)
  • Champion Level: Gloves, Boots (+10% bonus experience / 50% total)

The armor set is a moddable set which can be worn at level 1 and is bound to legacy! That means once you have unlocked the set you can freely move it to other characters in your legacy to help them level faster than ever, allowing you to move even faster through the event.

Darth Hexid and Master Ranos
These two new Companions are embedded into the core of the Dark vs. Light event. As event characters are making dark and light decisions, they are tilting the scales towards Hexis or Ranos – ultimately determining which Companion players can earn at the conclusion of the event.

All Rewards, and Their Delivery
The most important part of any event is when you get your rewards! Let’s review each individual Level, what their rewards are and when you can expect to receive them. Similar to a PvP Ranked Season, many of the rewards are going to come at the end of the event. When reviewing the list below, any reward that is noted with * you will receive at the end of the event later this fall. All other rewards you will earn as soon as you complete the Dark vs. Light level to which the reward is attached.

Heroic Level

  • 5 Force-Bound Dark vs. Light Packs
  • In-Game Title: “The Heroic Victor”

Legacy Level

  • Shade Stalker Runt Mini-pet*

They are not retroactive. They can only be earned with an event character, which is any character created on or after June 28th when the event goes live.

Many of us no longer have 8 free character slots on our primary legacy server and have no desire to delete high level toons to create throwaway 50s.

Once you have completed the objective by receiving the achievement, that character no longer needs to be active. So you could level to 50 on a character, and then delete it.

Good question! The rewards are delivered in three different methods, depending on the reward:

  • Titles – These are tied to the Achievement and therefore are unlocked for each character in the Legacy.
  • Dark vs. Light Packs and Pioneer Armor Set – These will be delivered via in-game mail to the character who completes the final objective in that event level.
  • End of event Cosmetic Rewards – Things like the Companion and the vehicles will come at the end of the event and will be delivered to every character on the account, similar to the monthly sub rewards.

  1. Start at 60 characters do not count. Only level 1 characters will be created as event characters.
  2. Correct, you only need to hit level 50. Class story is not required.
  3. You can use the legacy unlock for HK-51, you do not need to re-complete the mission if you did it before.

So pretty much start fresh and earn all your achievements again? I just finished running the main story for one of my new alts and by the time I hit Corellia it was just painful to keep going.

It’s a little disappointing to see that even for alts that haven’t run SoR or KotFE it doesn’t count. To truly participate I need to do it all again. I have 65’s that haven’t traveled to Dromund Kaas or Coruscant yet. This would have been nice incentive to finally do the story on them.

Why are my posts being deleted? I didn’t swear in the last one. Are we not allow to voice our displeasure here?

This is the single worst idea I have ever seen in any MMO in my entire life.

Fuck you Bioware. Fuck. You.

Stop defending them, idiot. It just makes them keep doing idiotic things like this instead of expanding the game.

This is Bullshit…nothing new, just “do all the shit you did the last years AGAIN…for no good reason”

People seriously need to get it through their heads that all these events are optional. They’re not forcing you or making you to do it. And they’ve done similar things in the past, that it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

We’re just gonna have to deal with it. End of story.

“Crafting Virtuoso

To complete the objective “Crafting Virtuoso”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and reach maximum skill level (550) with all six Crafting Crew Skills.”

Not by the same toon, ofc…

Considering the answer about the 8 Level-50’s and how it’s being tracked as Legacy achievements, I’ll be very surprised if you can’t do each of the six crafting skills on a single character.
Craft it up to 550, click the X, train a different one, craft IT up to 550, repeat x6.

I wouldn’t mind doing all these if the reward is proportionately legendary. Looking at the reward compare to all that work, this is just a waste of time.

People will keep crying forever, u just cant please anyone can u? Well keep up the hard work and i will keep giving bioware enough money to keep creating so these smucks will have plenty to cry about

Hard work? You people literally defend them on anything. They have done ZERO work for this. It’s a fucking joke XD

Very curious as to what ‘hard work’ went into this promotion. Just redo the last five years of content for….what? To call what they are offering rewards is ridiculous at best, insulting to say the least.

Unlocking hk51 with mil credits counts? Earning mil credits by sending mil to alt by mail counts?

Well, when i read again i noticed hk51 can be unlocked for achievement for mil credits.

wow so i’m going to have to delete 8 of my characters since i got 40/40 toons to 65 and do virtually everything from scratch?

He can do it on another server – but that would be daft, imo.
Char slots are gonna go in discout when the event starts.
But if he wants to delete chars – he only needs to delete 1, since he can just delete the char as soon he reaches level 50 and start a new one.

A chiss Jedi? WTF.
So in order to get the legacy armour with 50% xp boost, you have do the whole main story, SoR, all 16 chapters of KotfE, pvp to level 5 valar, beat level 5 eternal championship, and do pretty much every fp.
Nice, but no, and this are certainly not the best rewards.

All of which can be done in just a few days’ time. None of that is challenging and none of it requires grinding of any kind to achieve. For the FPs, you can solo many and those you can’t, you just queue up for one at a time til you have them all. Easy peasy. And you can get Valor Rank 5 within just a handful of Warzones.

Ah no you can’t, the last parts of the xp armour is locked behind doing every single tactical flashpoint.

Screw this, I’ve got 2 servers maxed w/ 20 level 60-65’s. No way in hell I’m grinding all this out again especially since I’ve been playing since launch and have done this stuff long enough. If they really wanted it to be an event they should Retro it for people that have it done already.

um, so do I get more toon slots?, a lot of the stuff cannot be done unless you creat a light/dark toon and I am at the max of 40 as is.

>celebrate the 5th anniversary of the game by having people do content they’ve been doing for the past 5 years
Wew, Bioware

and to continue, all my toons on the servers are above 20 so… yeah, and will my alts be able to get these companions even if they’ve done all the story prior?.

Reaching Eternal Level is easy.

Legendary on ther other hand.. well it’s supposed to be hard but..
8 Chars, all crafting crew-skills to max – doable although annoying.
But those WBs, OPs and all the HM FPs are gonne be hard with the playerbase we have left.

Ok I have hope that this will be good stuff but officially it’s suck!!! I’ve already done whole 8 stories and have all toons on 65 and no thanks not again… BW u are a**holes!

Many of us completed all 8 stories and maxed lvl 65 more than 8 times. Hell I just finished doing third consular to 65 and seeing this I now realise that I could have waited.

I have 40 toons the fucking says the toon needs to be fucking made at the date all 40 toons are 50-65 and above, how is this fucking fair to the people who maxed 40 and cannot delete toons?.

I have 40 on main server but not as many on other servers…so that’s where to go if you want to do this

This is an Option only event.. For you newbies, we have had many events in the past. For those who are complaining that they have 1 or 2 alts, smdh I have 18 toons.. so what.. If you want to participate then do so and stop complaining.. If you know how to do a quick grind then do so.. If you don’t want to do the event then don’t do it…

I heard new event – I got a bit excited. SOMETHING NEW, YES.

Or, y’know, just start over entirely and just do EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN. Wait, what?

QUALITY BIOWARE AS ALWAYS FORCING US TO REPLAY THEIR CONTENT ALL OVER AGAIN FOR THIS EVENT

This is a new level of absolute crap. Doing everything they can to not make new content, just rehash everything old.

……Yeah if I do this event, I’ll probably only last up to the lv 25 reward, and that’s if I am lucky, I’m more of a casual gamer than a competitive gamer. A shame really, I would’ve liked to unlock some new companions……..namely Master Ranos

Hang on how do I check my level again? and what is this…”group finder” thing they speak of?

OMFG! I call dibs on whatever the hell BW’s smoking, because it sounds ahellofalot better than taking part in SWTOR: GRIND’R BUST part infinity.

I’m a procrastinator and a Game Addict too…
But if veterans players bite into this, they’re really making a point…
That the old players that stay and do this have really no life at all and waste it on this game…

Yea sure, will create new char on server that i dont want to play, just because i already have 24 65s, toons on my server.

no I bet you if they did a survey and checked how many people from say 2012 are still playing it would come down to less then 2,000, and I mean played on a weekly basis at least, they only care about the incoming millennial dipshits who won’t be there in 6 months. please them see how fucking long this lasts you dumb fucking morons.

just buy more toon slots I envy you because you have the option to make more for this event I do not aka why I am telling them where then can lick me, before I pay another dime.

They did say they’ll put them on sale next week which I’m gonna guess is 50%. If i’m right they’ll be 300ccs each and if you needed a full 8 slots would be 2400cc which will be $20.

to be honest, i only care about 2 of my characters.. the rest could be deleted and would care less.

What a fucking stupid event! Best of “How to make use of old content and literally do nothing new” !! Fuck you Bioware, do something NEW !!! OMG that game so rekt.

I’ll need to see better previews of them, but so far the armor rewards don’t interest me. The mount rewards don’t interest me. The companions would have been nice, but I have a crap ton of companions as it is and likely there will be little to no substantial interaction with them. The only rewards that have really piqued my interest are the light/dark attuned tunings.

As a first reaction, I’m feeling rather underwhelmed/disappointed in this event. I supported the making old content relevant again (heroics and FPs in particular) that they did earlier with 4.x, but this just seems to be….. I…. I don’t understand this.

Personally, I already have my 8 toons maxed at 65 and am only taking 4 through KotFE. So, I have character slots to burn. However, my current thoughts are: “Yes, I could make another toon to participate in this event, but after event it will likely simply be ignored with my 4 non-KotFE toons”. While I could do this, I don’t like to because to me it means the character would have no “life” of their own. Their entire purpose would be to run the event, and that mindset would color any creative process I would try and put into the character.

That being said, I not completely written off participating in the event. I’m going to have to think about this for a while.

When I saw you had to do HK-51 again I was ready to chop my own hands off. Glad to see you can just buy your way around it. Once is more than enough. I pity those who have undertake it. The scanning is the worst.

Not sure why people thought this was going to be, but I assumed from when they first announced it that it would just be a mega replay. Not the most exciting, but it’s the consequences that were always going to be the main thing about it. Hopefully they do have a decent plan for how this will impact the state of the galaxy.

And we sit back and laugh at their complaining while enjoying our games, I LOVE THIS GAME and everything bioware does to make it better!
Ps: bioware we need more hk items plz
(Stands aside for storm of complaints)

Not a chance in hell would I after 5 years of being in SWTOR. Redo all 8 toons again. Not going to happen.

Legendary status or whatever it’s called, the last achievement. All 8 classes to 65, max out all professions, yadayadayada.

Someones clearly not reading what the requirements are. Read it and weep. At a minimum you have to get 2 toons to 65. At most you have to redo all 8 toons to level 50 and relevel every crafting profession.

Everything you have done in the past 5 years or since you started playing. Throw that shit out the door and start over. It doesn’t count matter for any of this. No matter how long you already grinded out SWTOR content. Now, do it again or just pretend the event isn’t happening at all.

Alliance Hero

To complete the objective “The Story Continues”, you must take a Dark
vs. Light event character and gain enough experience to gain Character
level 50 with all eight Classes. In order to reach level 50, you simply
need to play almost any part of Star Wars: The Old Republic. This
includes Missions, Warzones, Flashpoints, and more! To track your
progress, simply look at your character’s current level, listed next to
your portrait.
You must have one level 50 of each of the following eight Classes:

Jedi Knight

Jedi Consular

Smuggler

Trooper

Sith Warrior

Sith Inquisitor

Imperial Agent

Bounty Hunter

mehh I only wanted the new companions but playing 2 new character to level 65 is not worth it imo… the comps don’t even look good I hate that doggy hair they have give the chiss

What a hack of shit, I just unlocked legendary with the 8 toons, now lets re-roll all 8 to do it again. What a way to fuck us in the ass prison style to those that have been playing since beta / launch.

*breaks down sobbing in the corner and cries lieing in a bath tub naked cuddling a bottle of vodka.*

Some of the rewards look good, but grinding all of that out again? No way. It’ll just burn me out and sour me on SWTOR. However, if it were retroactive, I’d be much more inclined to do what remaining objectives I needed to hit the new achievements I hadn’t already met.

I bet you could start a new toon on the 28th and achieve a good chunk of this content in a week.

Ls/DS event. Summed up as biowares way of not making any new content. Just redo the past 5 years 8 more times.

So I’m reading this right? They can put all of this time and effort into an event but can’t update the VIP vendor, or make something alternative for those of us that have already maxed out character slots, leveled every toon, done the monthly subscription, paid for items on CM, put up with their shit and expect participation in this?

For the first time in my SWTOR playing days, I am actually going to NOT participate in this, what an honest to god slap on the sick of those of us that have faithfully been subscribed and played since the start.

Fuck you Bioware. No really. Fuck you.

I’ve often lamented on their lack of vendor updating. I new set of bounty hunter armor for the bounty event or a new rancor rakghoul mount would’ve made repeating these events worthwhile.

Also, This should be the top comment. I dont see how anyone can disagree with a valid and logically argument against this point.

Honestly, what time and effort really went into this? There is no new content to play. No new FPs or OPS or PVP zones. Just some outfits a pet and a 2 new mounts.

Not a lot of effort from BW on anything these days. Unless I missed something here and if I did, help me see it.

I agree with most posters… This is a disappointment. I’ve spent the last 5 years getting 16 toons to L60+ (each class twice for their role variants). I do not want to do all of that again.

MMm basicly is more a free 2 player noob event they 🙂 always make new chars and can finish past lvl 25 xD we pro,s actauly are 65 Hm nim gear fuck this then if they spent this time in this event they would be better off making a new ops 🙂

The truly exclusive Leet NM mode guilds seem to have left the game permanently back around 2014.

Exactly. Instead they offer old content again and for us to start over fresh so new players have people to play with. Good thing all I do as others is come here for a nice bathroom read. Game will be dead once Legion is released.

wait a minute: I already have 12 characters and I’m a sub for FOUR YEARS. I played a lot already. you’re saying to be a part of this event I HAVE TO PAY FOR MORE SLOTS AND/OR DELETE CHARACTERS to PLAY ALL CHARACTERS ALL OVER AGAIN?!

fuck you, bioware. fuck you. I defended you guys all these years even with all the bullshit and bugs and that’s what I get.

Luiza: quit bitching you fucking faggot. Why are bitches like you crying at everything that BW does. Who gives a shit if you have no life and spent 4 years making 12 characters. Go sit in a corner and cry more.

Stop defending Bioware, they are literally offering gambling packs for hundreds of hours of grind. The only new stuff they made here are the 3 sets, the 2 mounts, the bunch of titles nobody is gonna use and another companion no one is going to have any interaction with because they butchered companion story lines. This event is a joke and if you decide to grind it to the end, you are a moron.

LOL, I have 24 characters made for SWTOR. Most are level 60+, the rest are either below level 60 or have yet to be created (but I’ve already worked out the details, i.e. class, discipline, appearance, gear, etc.)

I thought this was a pretty good event until I saw the last challenge tier. I could fill some of those 8 new characters with the ones I haven’t created yet, but having to create an entirely new set of characters and level them from scratch is a real pain in the ass, and not something I have the time or energy for after playing this game for nearly 5 years.

Why can’t people who have already completed all 8 class stories have that part of the challenge auto-completed for them? It would be a nice bonus for veteran players that have been here a long time while also not being too much of an advantage over newer ones.

Other than that though, this event looks fun. I like how they’re incentivizing playing some game modes that don’t get much traffic more, and the rewards look pretty awesome.

That really kicks long-term players in the shins. I mean, I’ve been here from the very beginning, I am so NOT going to pay for a character slot, slave through all the missions, flashpoints, operations all over again just to have the reward stuff on my main server. Too much effort, too much time required. Too little gain. Thanks, but no thanks.

Even if I had 5 years to do all that tedious crap, I would not. It’s just not worth the effort for a veteran player who has seen all the content several times over already.

Here’s hoping whichever companion we all end up with that they do a proper treatment on her and not a weak one like we got with Nico. More KotFE chapter than alliance alert if that makes sense.

Tldr:
Tunings are the same as furious weapons and volatile
Must max all crafting skills
Must reach level 50 with all 8 classes
Earn and spend 1mil credits
And some other shit

To take part you need to create a new character after the event starts. Progress in existing characters won’t be counted.

There are different levels with increasing rewards. For example to get the new companion you must complete the requirements for the Eternal level. You’ll need to do things like get your toon to a certain level, complete FPs, get valor levels, finish certain content, you’ll need to go through each yourself really to see what needs to be done.

It seems that image is meant to represent the new companion.

This is the bigest bunch of bullcrap! I am not leveling more characters goddamnit!! I have plenty and I do all endgame OPs and the story on 4 of them. The other bunch of crap is none of the rewards are tradable so they are stuck (other than armor) on the eligable toon….things like the titles and crap. This is a total waste of everyones time who has been playing from launch.

SO they did this crap instead of making a new Operation. So dissapointed.

Are these items legacy bound or do they have to stay bound to this disposable toon which is probably a class/faction we won’t play as much?

It looks like a mix the pack rewards are bound to the character that earns them. But you can unlock in collections. I think I read the xp armor was legacy but honestly don’t want to reread to find that bit again.

The final rewards will be mailed to all characters on your account at the end of event.

Did some number crunching and if you purchase the class xp and have an xp boost I think you can finish additional toons with class story only. Or should be very close to it.

they better end up giving us both comps, other wise they will piss off the other group who did not win and lose more subs!.

From above…

One of the big parts of the event is the dark and light decisions that
players make throughout the game. We will be tracking each decision made
across the galaxy during the event. By the end, players can earn either
the Merciless Darth Hexid Companion or the Valiant Master Ranos
Companion – depending if the majority of choices were light side or dark
side. Note, that only dark and light decisions made during
conversations count towards this total.

—-
From this it sounds like we’ll all get the same comp based on whether LS or DS wins.

My other gripe is that I have like 20+ low level toons (11 to 55) I use in PvP and now will have to delete them since they won’t be eligable. I was hoping to be able to use a few of my lowest ones. BUT NO. I still think all characters who are 65 and have any of these achievements should be immediatly rewarded for that hard work. I do not want to run a new character with shitty gear through all my OPS, FP, Heroics, Gree, Ratgoul, etc..again…solo for rewards I have already earned outright from being a launch member on 8 freakin already 65 characters,

Wait. My 14 level 65 characters are completely useless for this? Seriously? Are they being fucking serious? I have to make a new character to take part in this bullshit, and go through the bullshit boring grind yet again of leveling? They are serious, aren’t they?

Way to fuck up your 5th year anniversary guys. I expected no less. Good job. You never fail to disappoint.

Just finished going through this fully because I blew a gasket at continually seeing characters made after June 28th are the only ones eligible. Glad I did, because I’m going to have a stroke now.

8 times. 1-50 eight fucking times. Every single main class. And then, on top of that, you also have to do hard mode flashpoints. Every single one.

This is abysmal. As if the fucking game wasn’t a grindfest based on 5 year old content already, to celebrate their 5 year anniversary they make it an even bigger 5 year old content grind. My head hurts. I need to lay down. This is beyond stupid. This is beyond moronic. I don’t have words for this. Who in the fuck thought this is a good idea. Honestly I’d rather have both imperial and republic fleets have a rave in the middle with a banner saying “Go fuck yourselves. Thanks for the money.” It would be less insulting.

So don’t do it if you dont want to. If you want the additional cosmetic items, then it was kinda predictable that you would need to actually do something for them, not just retroactively get it without any additional effort.

8 chars? rll? ffs, bio…
there are players who already have toons, a lot of them. I could finish 2 chars with a lot of effort, but 8? cmn…

These would have been awesome to add in as achievement rewards or something, but no, lord no, just no.There is absofuckinglutely nothing they could offer that would be good enough for me to grind two more characters all the way to 65 with an event time limit hanging over my head. Even if I would be willing to, I seriously doubt the comps are worth it. I doubt they will be romancable or have their own sidequests or anything at all other than the a bit of envy from other players.

I was thinking of leveling all female characters on another server anyway, so maybe i might beat that dead horse.

To each their own. I honestly cannot see wasting my time for sketchy rewards at best. If they would make some of this retroactive I would consider it. Just don’t have the time or energy anymore to start over from scratch.

understood, but since i was thinking of doing this anyway. i just don’t like the time limit. feel rushed.

That was fan day at the office and during their tour they took his advice. BW had no intention of going that route on their own till he spoke up.

I have been unhappy with them since the launch of KOFE as it completely reset my HK-51 quest. I had two pieces left, now I have to start from scratch. Like this event, not going to happen.

Would be cool but which? I started wow sometime ago (maybe year), sub and try it normal?..

This shit should be retroactive…I have 22 65s…I’m not f’n leveling up 8 more characters and redoing a bunch of crap for this poorly thought out event.

It’s not poorly thought out i think. It’s just not aimed for every player. Clearly not an event for you.

It’s not aimed at anyone. New players aren’t going to be able to do it all and vets aren’t going to do it full stop. This ‘event’ is a failure before it’s even started.

Completionists an veterans are going to do it for the sake of having another mount or pet or gear. For them powerleveling 1-50 fast wont be that much of a problem. All those people that already have tons of max level characters will do the event. If they already invested so much time in the game, doing the same repeating stuff, they will do it again for new rewards.

New players will have a clear roadsign what to do in the game and they will most of them achieve atleast the new companon part. Not everyone need to to everything and get legendary level. This is for the most persistent players.

Normal casual players will have another incentive to make one or two more alts to get eternal level. They have enough knowledge of the game for it not having to be a long endevour.

There are plenty of people who will do the event. And legendary level of rewards is not for everyone, but for the most commited players. Eternal level is the main goal of the event, with this new light/dark side system and companions.

No matter how many people are complaining here that they are not rewarded better, this even wont be failure. Many players will participate in it and it will be a success enough.

Again, you are wrong. I’m a veteran and a completionist, and I’m definitely not going to do ANY of this. I’m not ranting because of better rewards, I’m ranting because I don’t want to be penalised for being a supporter of this game since launch! This “event” should be for EVERYONE, not for some players more than others. And furthermore, I’m concerned that time and again they choose to poorly plan these things and not take into account not everyone is going to grind the WHOLE GAME once… make that 8 times more for some stupid rewards. And yes, a WHOLE LOT of people think like me if this site and swtor.com is any indication.

And yet many of those people will still go and do the event. You may be not, but others will. yes even many of the people that are complaining about it today. That’s normal first reaction.
The eternal level is for everyone and this is the main part of the whole event. And most people will do it.
The legendary level is for hardcore completionists and most of them will do it. It’s the same psychology as with the WoW. If you already invested a lot of time and effort into something, you are more inclined to invest even more, even if you are not completely pleased with the outcome.

I’m not saying the event is great, but it is also not that horrible like many people here are overreacting with their first emotional reaction to it. People are comlpaining a lot, but still many people will do it, and that is what EA/Bioware planned. Just the fact that so many people here are saying that “you need to level 8 characters 1-50”. Like this was the main requirement for the event and you get nothing if you wont do that. They look only for the most hardcore completionist reward and saying like it is a must. So for them it is a must, and that’s why a lot of them will do it anyway.

You know what? You may be right. Yes, some people will go for it even after a negative first reaction.

But I’ll tell you what: I play a computer game for fun. A challenge, yes, but a fun challenge. This is starting to be more like a job… And I’m sorry, but to do a job, I don’t pay… I GET PAID. I can endure some grinding, hell even some seriously boring grinding… But this… This is beyond that. This is stupid. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I’ll just agree to disagree beyond this point fellow poster. Godspeed to you.

Clearly you haven’t been here very long. People are sick of doing the same shit over and over, and this ‘event’ asks them to do the same stuff over again + stuff they likely never wanted to anyway.

I’m a completionist and a veteran and I know many people like me in-game. None of them will be pissing away time on this garbage. Defend BW all you want. Fact remains people just aren’t going to bother. In fact, I’d say they’ll lose subs over this.

This is a great way to drive away players and reduce the overall sub numbers.

Like it wasn’t enough that the latest Op we have is 1 and a half year old, that we got reashed Heroics to grind these days… Now we have to do all crafting skills again? Galactic Starfighter for the Force’s sake??? No, this WILL be a GIGANTIC flop. I’ll stake my lighsaber on that…

Yup. It’s the single most pathetic idea I’ve seen to come from any gaming company, MMO or single player or other, from a lifetime of playing games. Cash shops, extortionate pricing, half-arsed content delivery- this makes everything else look downright reasonable. I hope the team feels embarrassed and ashamed that this is their grand idea of a special event for the 5th year anniversary.

Whoever thought punishing the playerbase as an anniversary reward was the way to go needs to be sacked.

And yet i’m gonna bet that despite this first emotional overreaction to the news, many people will play the event, and overall it will be a successfull enough. I bet even you tomorrow wont be feeling as negative emotions about it like you feel now.
It’s not a great event, but it also wont be that awfull like some people describe it.

Some, but most will ignore it. The response has been overwhelming negative, and the amount of grinding this entails means people just won’t do it. The rewards aren’t even remotely worth the effort.

Though I’m sure Musco will continue to lie through his teeth as he always does and claim the response has been great and that they’re looking forward to fucking players over more in the future.

Shouldn’t it be an event for EVERYONE??? Are there different types of players? This is an EPIC FAILURE any way you look at it.

Ofcourse there are different types of players. This event is aimed for many of them and many players will participate in it with zeal. I explained it more in nother post.

I have a sneaky feeling that the fact veterans players have so many leveled up toons and you need newly created toons for this event, that the backlash will be so great they’ll end up having to make this retro-active. Because, let’s face it, the majority of players aren’t going to deal with all that bullcrap of rolling and leveling new toons, just for this event. I’m sorry, but that’s just plain stupid. There’s no other word for it. Most players just don’t have the time for that kind of nonsense. They’re just going to give BW a big middle finger.

I hope your right and they’ll change it, but odds are they won’t. They’ve shown time and time again that they have a level of contempt for their playerbase that is unfathomable. It’s much easier for them to just stick their fingers in their ears and say, “I’m not listening. I’m not listening.” over and over again.

https://youtu.be/WGKUnFjzgPs?t=15s

I like to imagine that’s what their entire development team does. However I do hope that people continue to bash them and criticize them because this is absolute bullshit. It’s such a monumental fuck you to veteran players, players that have sunk money into this game and kept it afloat, that it deserves pushback.

I don’t think that there is that many people who have all classes leveled to max. I consider myself an average player and i have spent quite a lot of my gaming time in SWTOR and i have 3 characters leveled to max. I actually was thinking about starting one of two other classes i’m considering and now i have another incentive to do that, with additional rewards and pointers what exactly should i do.
And for people who are completionists, they will be powerleveling their chars again to get that additional mount or title or piece of gear.
I don’t think that this event is that bad, and i kinda like the premise of it.

On Harb alone I have 18 or 19 level 65’s and 3 others between 45-61. Heck the only server I don’t have 65’s or a legacy on is Bastion.

Anytime you see a golden sea monkey icon besides their name means that player has all 8 classes to story end. If the legacy achievements didn’t bug on them that is.

You are wrong. There are TONS of people that have done the 8 classes already, I meself have 24 toons, I know people that are at max cap. This is a good idea only for those fairly recent to the game, I CANNOT for the life of me think that anybody that is a Legendary player looking forward to this.

I have 35+ toons across three servers, with 21 of them at level 65. I have done KOFE on four of said toons with little inclination to do a repeat, much less rehash EVERYTHING I’ve done over the past five years. If this is how they think to keep veteran players they ought to share what the hell they are smoking so the rest of us can be happy about this as well.

I have 24 65 on The Red Eclipse ALONE. Of those I chose 8 to do KotFE while the expansion is running, and I was LOATHING the prospect of having to do it with the rest of them loooool… Mind you, that stuff they smoke in Austin might come in handy…

It’s a problem because it shows that BioWare is either creatively bankrupt or financially bankrupt. The latter seems unlikely, given how many infinitely replaceable 1s and 0s they sell in their cash shop, and the former is funking sad given the company’s history.

Good for you that you’ve managed to barely get anything done in the five years the game has been out. The people who have – and who have been supporting the game forever – get nothing out of this asinine “event.”

only problem i have is the legendary crap with the 8 classes that is fucking idiotic period.
valor easy just pvp from lvl 10, esseles/black talon easy join GF at lvl 10
all teh tacticals fine, all hm? thats gonna be a problem ops aswell since ops passes are being sold for 1.8 mil and higher worldbosses and such are achieveable

Time and time again they shit on long time players. I’ve been hoping the game does a left turn somewhere, but it seems I’m being naive, to put it mildly…

I have 24 level 65 characters, I don’t excel at ALL of them, but I have a selected few in which I do think I’m pretty good. Those are waiting for some kind of Endgame content to be released, but these guys think only about recycling old stuff.

This has got to be the WORST thing they could think of for long time players. Sure, I get that for those new or relatively new to the game this is a blast. Well, for me and for guys like me it’s a freaking nightmare.

So we leveled our toons to max level, and now we have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN??? WTF?!? WHY??? I know people that have 40 plus characters… Are you fucking kidding me???

Oh I know where my doe is gonna go… TESO here I go, I have no more patience for these guys…

Sorry for all the expletives. I don’t usually use them, but this is really LAME.

Fuck you Bioware.

I have mixed opinions… I think it’s a cool idea, but I don’t want to do it after playing for 4 years. I have completed all the stories multiple times, and I really don’t want to do it again as it won’t be enjoyable to me. I’m really sick of them recycling content for new players. It feels like the loyal players are getting punished just for the sake of new player appeal, which causes loyal players to leave. Why not reward the loyal players for being here so long? fuck you bioware.

I mean, I suppose the rewards do you look interesting indeed, and they are trying to introduce content that does not get much traffic. but I see this as them recycling content… A new operation would be much nicer.

Pffft this should be easy guys. Any of us that have over 10 lvl 65’s should know how to power level in this game and just use money and legacy from other toons to super power it through legacy perks. LVL50 legacy with so much unlocked and either essaxs or black talon with fp legacy boost you’ll be 65 and past everything in 3 days at most and that’s just the annoyance of doing the story lines over like you’re an undying god.

You’re going to be powerleveling just for the sake of getting gear that will allow you to powerlevel even faster.

though i am saving 2 spots for an rep and imp char for this, ill delete 1 char and use that as placeholder for the 6 other chars lvl up 1 each to lvl 50 to check it off delete and rinse and repeat, only need to be lvl 50 for it its doable but really really fucking retarded:P

This “event” is a pretty large slap in the face to longtime players. It’s clear that BW is doing everything they can to drag this game out without adding true content. A half hour of story per month it is BW. GG.

i wont do everything i have done in the last 3 years to get some packs or titles or other bullsh*t

“This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.” Thanks but does nothing for me.

Should be all fixed up now. Thanks again for the heads-up… man, you try to put a little music in the background, and you get banned from 277 countries! Yeesh!

So….boring.

Our companion’s Alignment should be changeable for the get go, like the Sith Warrior’s Apprentice, that is what would be cool.

But do you do that? nooooo, no you don’t.

I have 16 65´s… one per each class. Now I have to re-roll at least half of them? Fuck it, not going to do that. The alternative is starting fresh in another server, or just moving 1 toon to get all my previous unlocks, right? Not good enough, all my legacy gear will be lost in at least 1 server 🙁 I dont see the point in trying to force us to restart the whole game, really. I´m totally not going for this.

You can do 5 out of 6 tiers of rewards, that’s what I will do. Not gonna bother for the Legendary one. It would take 10 times more time than the first 5 combined

Nah, that wouldn’t make any sense. They could just have a totally new set of missions and material, instead of that crap.

Nope, I’m in the EU (Germany) and it doesn’t work because there must be some music from Sony Music Entertainment in it.

Level 8 new chars on leve 50, this is a bit too much.

But I’ll try it, as long as I don’t have to keep them after reaching level 50.

so this grand event amounts to “play the same shit you’ve been playing for years already” REALLY?!

Wow. So there’s gonna be 3-6 months of no new anything of any kind while they work on KOTFE season 2 and they created… basically a 2nd achievement system to encourage people to do old content again.
I expected it to be lame but wow. This is whole new level of desperate.

Kudos for the guide team dulfy but

Fuck bioware. its like they try on purpose to drive to old veteran playerbase away. most of us already have 8+ characters at 55 with all stories completed and every tiny bit of quest done including legacy 50 and darklight V. this is just… screw this I’m not playing all that again I prefer to play something else and as such my money will go to another company which actually add new content. *looking at you ESO*.

Every HM FP, that is too much grind.
But all 8 classes to 50 in what is going to be a 2-4 month event?
That’s not right. Hopefully they are forced to remove that or at least make that specific achievement count your existing characters because that is just ridiculous.

ANOTHER leveling grind was honestly the last thing I was expecting from this event.

Its like their only solution for people being starved for content is forcing us to level more toons.
Sad.

So, this basically seems like it’s an event meant for players that are new to the game 🙁 I guess I’ll level up a toon or two during it, but I’ve been playing since launch and it seems a bit meh to not reward the toons I’ve already taken through this stuff.

All toons get rewarded, but not all toons can participate. Looks like 1 toon start to finish will unlock most of the stuff with extremely dedicated players receiving the last tier.

I have 39 characters on my primary server… I could do all of this on some other server, but would not have much use for the BoP or legacy based rewards on other servers. I could use my final slot to create and delete characters to get it all done on my primary server.. still losing out on the majority of BoP rewards.

I figured maybe I could get myself to delete one existing character.. use one slot for a character to collect as many of those packs (since getting armor sets divided in BoP parts boxes spread over various characters that will get deleted after use makes them pointless) and the other slot to finish what I can’t finish on that one character, by creating and deleting..

That all seems like an awful lot of trouble to have to go through just to be able to benefit from an event that exists of things that I’ve already done and things that I’ve consciously chosen not to do at all.

If you’ve done all the Achievements on the other server and tranfer one character to your main Legacy server, the Achievements should be tranfered.

But you better double check this from an official source.

Doing things I’ve done before and things I chose not to do and then also have to pay to be allowed to benefit from its rewards is really not sounding any better at all.

Didn’t check, but “Additional Character Slot” must be going through the roof by now at the GTN.

So, in other words for longtime players they want you to re-do everything essentially in their game if you want these rewards…wow….

I am in tears of joy. Bioware truly loves me. I swear since nothing new was dropping this summer my brothers and I decided that we were gonna replay 1 Imp and 1 Rep. So now we just have to wait til the weekend of the 4th and we can get all these new rewards as we play.

Although no way am I planning on trying for that last tier. Definitely seems aimed at new players, or lucky old players.

All the more reason to make ESO the only game I play and ditch SWTOR completely. SCREW these jokers.
They can’t be bothered to actually come up with something creative, no instead they make an event consisting of already available content…

This is crazy. So old players would have to relevel new characters of EACH class both light and dark side to at least 50 on top of that complete ALL ingame activities including flashpoints many operation bosses and events. If you miss one event its over all the hard work is gone if you aim for highest rewards.
Ouch i dont even know where to begin to say that this is not going to happen…

Soo…. I wrote out a well thought paragraph for my opinion. And somehow, someway it was detected as spam and deleted FML.

EA: We have founded a new developer studio: RecycleWare.

Expect awesome amazing stuff comming, stuff you already played. Awesome. Soon!

Yeah… F this. Way to reward people like me that have been playing since launch. I *might* do this on one toon, maybe. But no way in Hell am I leveling 8 toons again. I’ve already leveled 18 toons to 60+ (most to 65). Urge to unsub rising.

I feel your pain, man. I just talked about that on my YouTube vid… I have 30 toons, so having to grind up another one feels pretty hurtful from BioWare.

Hey guys! I just put together a video analyzing this! I’d love to hear your thoughts, feelings, and comments on this new event, so click the link below to check out my YouTube video and weigh in on the issue!!!

https://youtu.be/mUFJbbRf1dw

This event would be much better if they turned off Sprint until level 15 for DvL characters, brought back the crate box loop on Ilum, and required a win of every on-rails space mission.

I applaud this guy right here. He can keep a sense of humor about this. I can’t. Kudos man…

So let me get this right, people who have been playing for 5 years have to level yet another toon, from scratch and basically start all over. This event is the “we are gonna give you reskined shit for leveling a character” event…”

LAME
LAME
LAME
LAME

By far the WORST in game event in any game ever….
BW you are frakin’ stupid!

Not just one toon but all 8. 2 need to reach level 65 and the other 6 have to reach 50 and lets not forget you also have to relevel every crafting profession. Look at how fun that will be. 🙁

Wait to make the game LESS of a grind, lmfao. This sounds like ridiculously tedious nonsense just get some mediocre cosmetic rewards.

Thats all it is. Do really old content and achievements you most likely already have. Thats the new event. Do old content and get some cosmetic rewards.

Hell, at least if BW had put any effort into new content doing a new content grind wouldn’t see quite so bad.

What were getting is some amazing BW laziness as we move into summer.

I was planning to level a DPS Powertech, so I can do that during the event, but I don’t really feel the urge to do another Republic toon. I may, I don’t know. This just seems like such a wasted opportunity to do something NEW ingame, rather than make us run the same treadmill yet again. A Light and Dark Side artifact hunt across many worlds, encounters with ancient Jedi and Sith spirits, never-before-seen locations on Tython and Korriban… I can think of a hundred different ways to have made this something more people would be enthused about.

I could still see them doing a part 2 later. I would only expect a new daily area on Yavin or Odessan and needing a sub to unlock. Although I would only expect this if Season 2 is delayed or season 1 was not profitable enough come August and they need a quick cash grab.

I can understand having some of these sort of ‘achievments’ counting towards a score, I can totally get behind them. But don’t make me level 8 characters again, that’s incredibly tedious

Even better is that you can follow BW example and reuse the image and sell it to a politico during the upcoming US presidential election.

Reading through all of this and i am like ‘Done it, done that and that, oh yeah i done that too.’ Why would i do it all over again….

So basically, you have to replay the whole game again on a brand new character to participate in this? I am tempted to do it as I still have a class to complete to level through all the classes but it seems a bit of a heavy handed requirement.

Is the 12x xp going to be active for this?

Also, the rewards are not even close to matching what they are asking you to do…….

I really like those new weapon tunings, too bad all we get is a chance to get them, rather than getting one guaranteed if you reach the highest event level

Can anyone tell me when the next gree, bounty contract and rakghoul events are? Also, does anyone know when this ends?

I know I know, at this point asking for ops is more of a joke than an actual request, not expecting anything anytime soon

End game now consists of throwing a snowball at someone in December on the fleet in order to get a reward you already paid cash for.

I’ve noticed that there are plenty more “fuck you Biowares” on this website than on SWTOR.com..

It’s because they are banning you on SWTOR forums for 7 days. My brother has been banned already and the post deleted.

If they can’t handle the anger they should stop wasting our time with bullshit events, do their jobs, and give us the content we’re paying them for 😛

Exactly, was going to say that but you beat me to it lol… They get you banned in swtor.com, believe me there would be A LOT more “fuck you Bioware” posts on there if they didn’t…

Only because you can’t say fuck you BW on their forums, they want you to be more subtle with your hatred.

I’m renaming this event “Lontime Players Scrap their Main and Roll a New One to get cheevos and a Chance Cube that Unlocks Armor Sets They Already Have Unlocked with Absolutely No New Event Content” event.

Nice one Bioware assholes.

So I’ve heard mate, so I’ve heard… You know, there comes a time when you just have to realise something is just not worth it, and there are better options out there… Shame really, I really wanted to play a great Star Wars MMO… Sadly no such thing exists atm…

Yeah everything up to the 6th tier is doable and somewhat reasonable but really we have to replay the whole game not once not twice but WHOLE EIGHT times again to complete the event. And on top of that they expect us to make 8 new charters but yet didn’t matter giving out free slots…

Which reminds me anyone else seen BioWare’s new music video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnHlksSfMEE

Im not sure i understand, i read few last comments, there is some words but nothing criminal. )

This sounds like an event I’ll be doing for the short-term rewards, if anything. I really just don’t care at all about the final rewards a bit.

I would have three questions for Musco after hearing about this and reading about all this nonsense that they want us to do again: (1) Are you serious? (2) No, really, are you f-ing serious? (3) Were you, and everyone employed by Bioware, dropped on your f-ing heads as children because you can’t possibly be serious about this load of crap.

In a sense yea but the scope of it for people what have been in the game is a bit over the top. It’s redo all 8 classes. Redo all the crafting professions (time and cost there is just WTF added to the classes), 2 of those classes have to reach level 65 and do damn near all the story (only skipping makeb). Then run all FP’s as tacticals and Hm (blood hunt and lost island – UGH in the GF)

You’re basically told to forget all the time you put into getting that stuff already. Forget the past 5 years and do a bulk of it again because why the hell not. BW didn’t give you anything else to do.

What we get will depend on global count of all the players worldwide. So something like this will never happen but it would be cool ownage of bioware 😀

Are you kidding me? I can’t afford eight new slots, sale or not! And the HM FPs! Some of them are literally broken! Impossible to finish! This is not going to be a fun event, this is going to be torture.

Yes, spend hours levelling a toon and then delete it as soon as you are done. Amazing event and great suggestion put forth by Eric Musco. The idea of levelling 8 toons should be to play them, not waste your life grinding away only to delete them as soon as they ding 50. Am I the only one that thinks that idea is dumb? This event just doesn’t work for players that have already done it.

^^This right here. When a dev team states that their game is going to revolve around “Epic Storytelling” and THEN basically makes players grind the game for objectives… I mean, am I the only one who thinks these people don’t know shit from Shinola???

It’s one thing grinding it lol, but then for Eric Musco himself to suggest to a player “once you hit 50 you can delete it”. He may as well add the uninstall button to the sentence as well. What MMO tells you to delete characters you invested time into levelling and playing, it’s so backwards.

I might go downstairs and spend hours baking a load of cakes, once they’re done I’ll take a picture and upload it to instagram with a title about how much of an amazing cook I am. I won’t eat them though I’ll just bin them. Totally worth the time & effort to not even use the end product.

First thing I thought when someone mentioned this event to me was this:

“Oh it’s a character slot cartel event.”

Exactly! I for one can assure you I NEVER deleted a toon beyond lv 10. And maybe because I didn’t like the look or the name wasn’t “catchy” enough for me after a short playthrough on the 1st planet. This is ludicrous. I’m not a Role Player gamer, but I do get attached to my characters. To reach lv 50 and delete a toon is unthinkable for me.

The ONLY conclusion we can draw from this is that they don’t RESPECT their own game! I am AMAZED at these people! wtfh…

I was already convinced that EAware is focusing on gaining new players over keeping current players and I left a while ago. This is just funny though:) I’m so sorry for anyone still playing.

I was going to comment the exact same thing. I do try to complete some basic storylines on every new character I make (Chapters 1-3, Ilum, Oricon, SoR, Ziost, KOTFE – NOT freaking Makeb) but I am almost done… not gonna do those things anytime soon. And most definitely, not gonna do 8 more characters

Hey if anyone could answer these questions, I’d love them forever. Will we need to level multiple characters in order to complete all the flashpoints, since some are faction restricted? And will we need to level 8 different characters for the legacy challenge?

Fuck my life… Who thought this would be a good idea? 8 TIMES, I’ve done this already, plus some, I don’t wanna grind 8 more times…

Then don’t. Just go for eternal rewards. That’s the main aim of the event i think, with the companions and light/dark stuff. 8 classes 1-50 is for completionists who want to have everything.

I thought about that, but that’s just bad design then if it’s apart of an event but not worth it to do

level 8 characters to 50 – one per class? yes. completing flashpoints? once per event. but… since you need to have both imp and pub level 65 anyways for prior reward – you theoretically would have the needed character. in practice though, even if its not as bad as running each flashpoint 8 times, its STILL ridiculous grind.

So basically, the Light vs Dark Event is as follows: Create and level and get up to the maximum possible achievement on eight different characters.

Seriously?

That’s great for a game just starting out. But… my god, did they actually think this was going to be interesting to people? New people just starting aren’t going to go through all that rigamarole for “titles”. Long-time subscribers aren’t going to bother with eight new characters just because.

Worst thing I’ve ever seen them do.

It’s aimed for players to achieve the “eternal level” of rewards, that requires two level65 done and rewards the new companion. The “legendary level” is for completionists and people who are spending huge amount of time in the game anyway.
So that said, it is aimed for new players and pointing them and encouraging to experience different aspects of the game. It is aimed for casual players that have only few characters, to create another alts to fill the stories they havent played.
It is aimed for veteran players who will do it for the new companions, mounts, pets and the like. Completionists that already invested so much time, will do it anyway, and for them powerleveling 1-50 is not that hard, so they will aim at “legendary level”

A bunch of people is complaining about it, but people are always complaining about games and some aspects of them, especially if they feel they are not rewarded enough. But despite that i predict that this event will still be a success enough for swtor.

People are complaining because IT’S BIOWARE TELLING LONG TIME PLAYERS TO START OVER. What part of this doesn’t register with you?

Ehh. I can agree that there usually is a bunch of people complaining. But. This blew up over the day an already had 436 comments. Ive made it thus far an you are the third semi positive comment. There has been a resounding number of f you’s to bioware. I’d say this time the white knights are very out numbered.

….wow…just wow….the entire event is just wrapped around grinding the game and baiting people to the CC shop or subbing.
F**k this, glad I unsubbed.

Why are people saying that eight new characters need to be created? I’m not seeing anything that suggests that.

“Alliance Hero

To complete the objective “The Story Continues”, you must take a Dark vs. Light event character and gain enough experience to gain Character level 50 with all eight Classes. In order to reach level 50, you simply need to play almost any part of Star Wars: The Old Republic. This includes Missions, Warzones, Flashpoints, and more! To track your progress, simply look at your character’s current level, listed next to your portrait.
You must have one level 50 of each of the following eight Classes:

Jedi Knight
Jedi Consular
Smuggler
Trooper
Sith Warrior
Sith Inquisitor
Imperial Agent
Bounty Hunter
Once all eight Classes among your Characters have reached level 50, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Alliance Hero” to note that you have completed this objective.”

COMPLETE THESE CHALLENGES TO UNLOCK YOUR REWARDS:

Reach Level 50 with all 8 classes
Earn 1M Credits on a Character
Reach Dark 5 Alignment
Reach Light 5 Alignment
Kill 5 Specific World Bosses
Kill 5 Specific Operations Bosses
Complete all Hard Mode Flashpoints
Complete the Eternal Championship
….and more!

I gotta say BW makes one hell of an infomercial. Someone should probably explain that the “…and more!” isn’t supposed to be attached to the cost but the reward.

Because many people are thinking only of the highest level of rewards, that requires, among other things, new characters for all the stories (leveled through 1-50).
8 don’t “need” to be created. Clearly the main goal of this event is for players to strive for “eternal level” of rewards (with this new light/dark side thing and a new companion) that requires only two characters. * ones is for the completionists.
The thing that so many people here who are complaining are still thinking only like a completionists, make me thing that they are still going to playthrough it just to get that fw new rewards for them, despite their complaints.

I wish they’d add an in game checklist too at the very least… This is already awful, but if they’re gonna force us through this, have something shows you what you’ve completed on each character

Having just reread the thing I think that there will be a checklist. I think that each of the tiers will have information within them.
For example it looks like Legacy tier will include the sub topics of The Story Continues and Flashpoint Responder.

Since it’s supposed to be Legacy achievements, I’m thinking they’ll probably end up tucking the checklist somewhere in the Legacy window under the Events section. You check the box in there and it’ll show up on the right of the screen under your list of missions. Since there’s so many achievements I keep track of that way, I ended up reducing the font size and height of the list window, so I can usually have about 8 or 9 things showing up on the side there but still not be a distraction.

This is not even an “Event”. It’s a play or replay bonus, at best. NOTHING NEW, I repeat, NOTHING NEW is going on here! Move along people, nothing to see here!

Legendary players will cringe at this. I have no char slots, what am I supposed to do to achieve this crap (as if)? Delete a character? Play on another server where I have no guilds or friends? Shelve some more money on Character Slots?

New players will have to rush through content to achieve this! No more enjoying the story for you guys, just rush through everything in time to get the rewards. Where’s the immersion in that??? BW, you don’t even love your own game! What about Epic storytelling? Out the window for the Summer I see…

Enough has been said already… I just ask for someone, if at all possible, to try and get who was the IMBECILE who thought people were going to enjoy this. The RETARDED BW employee (s) that thought of this. Please, someone must be accountable for this…

Not anymore, ever. I’m not going down that route again. The “BW is good – EA is bad” thing. They’re ALL responsible, screw them all.

Im not saying they good, i mean once bioware were nice company, they created mass effect 123. But there many people quit, so now its only old name.

No this idea is quite old now. It’s called a “Replay Event” and has apparently been done by several MMOs (This is second hand information as I only play STO and this in the MMO genre). Basically it encourages replay by giving veterans and novices new rewards. Usually the events would not be this encompassing. I guess it would be more common for the base game, then each expansion seperately.

I can’t wait to see Musco’s live twitch stream .. watch him squirm trying to make this look like the most incredible thing ever.

When is that. Ill have to make a new twitch account cause bioware is anti squelching. Except when you ask for new ops. Then they squelch you

Well I have been playing this game since release, I have no room for a new character let alone 8, I have legendary status, and now I Have to start all over on all 8 classes?, you know what, F*ck, you, Bioware, I have been a loyal sub for the longest time, and now I have to make more classes where I already have 2 of each, some even 3 now I have to make a 3 of more or a 4th of others, not only is the event only for new people, or people that don’t have legendary status, this is a slap in the face of all the people that has already done this crap, I have rarely complained about Swtor, and I have endured through it, but this is simply unacceptable, I really don’t mind that you have to do this stuff, but at least let people that have already done this crap so many times, that they already have it completed or something, I will never make 8 new characters, let alone 1, this will be an event I skip, and say f*ck the new comp to, not worth it, I even considered unsubbing now, I don’t really care if people think I am childish because of that.

I guess I’ll do the tiers up to the companion but no way will I make more than 2 characters for this event.

i would like to know, if a character created now, that is still lvl 1, will count as an event character, og if it has to be created after the event starts.

It would not, has to be character created after the 28th, all characters created before that date, is ineligible. to take part of this event, thats the reason so many vets like myself are pissed off.

So this is an event… that forces you to replay old content. This really is a punch in the gut to me, since I already have multiples of each class, and have done the story on all of them. I have done all the flashpoints, I’m at 94% on operations achievements (read: I’m missing a couple 16m nightmares, that’s it). I have seen what every choice does to the story. I have played enough PvP to get lots of PvP achievements. There is no area of this game I have overlooked. Now they’re saying I have to do it again for event achievements? What the fuck is this?

Yep hence so many veterans are raging, a lot of people are pissed off by this decision to make it new characters only, I can understand the dark vs light decisions, because that would be extremely hard to track now, but people that have already done all this shite should have it completed in my very own unbiased opinion. xD

Well, adding all my guildies on steam is gonna take a while. I just hope that when the game is in fire that someone finds a way to play it singleplayer.

I thought I would be mad….but I am not.

Is it a grind? Heck yes. But they “go to” idea is meant to be the companions….which any one both old & new can earn easily. You only need 2 toons for that one….so if you don’t have any slots, you can buy two new slots…or just delete 2 characters that you do not use at all.

Even better, it does not look like you have to do them in any order. (though granted the first one you will probably get first ha.)

That last tier? Def for people who play this game constantly. Which is okay. There are people who actually LIKE going through all of that.

The point is, all the “good” awards can be obtained by casual players. Which is fine to me.

All about worth. Personally I’ve been looking for a reason to roll lightside sith again, and to finally roll a Jedi that is all lightside.

Plus that Chiss Jedi is bad ass.

My only real question is will we have to do a recruitment mission at the end of the event for the comps (not that i mind)

But that’s my two cents.

Yes, the Chiss Jedi looks good. But beware: if Dark Side wins overall in your FACTION, you will ONLY get the Dark Side Comp… Nice BW work, hey??? 😉

Oh i understand that it’s a 50/50 chance that i get the comp that i think looks cooler than the other. But i think having a Darth as a companion is just as awesome. (otherwise i would not even bother).

Overall i don’t mind the event. just curious how long its going to last.

Btw, last I checked, they are calculating the dark/light choices made through the entire game, not faction specific. Which makes sense considering that the achievements are bound to Legacy.

All i have to do is hope that the lightside choices are the same as the last 6 months (59 percent, game wide)

I was saying that just because I’ve seen some people under the impression that the comp is dependant on the choices they make INDIVIDUALLY, not globally. But if you’re ok either way it’s fine then… 🙂

Can’t say I’m surprised… Bioware / EA has a thing of over hyping things, and when they actually release it, it’s nothing great… I honestly don’t know how anyone can stay subbed after hearing this. I mean if you don’t like it stop paying them. I quit the game months ago and it’s been the best decision I ever made, but if I hadn’t quit this would have made me unsub for sure.

All KotFE has been is rehash except for the single player story, Which imo is the worst story so far in swtor. I mean to make a successful mmo you can’t just focus on one aspect of the game. Not everyone likes story just like others don’t like raids or PVP. Everyone has their own thing they like about an mmo, and if you abandon other aspects of your game it’s not a good thing. Imo KotFE is where Bioware really screwed up, and if they don’t see the error of their ways I don’t expect swtor to be around much longer.

ive try Black desert Online and for i buy 2 play no sub game its great i love the dept of the system try it with a 7 dayrs free trial maybe you ill love it

I’ve heard that game is way to grindy. I’ve been playing wow for the last 2 and half months and I’ve been enjoying that.

Black Desert is grindy because there is no lvl hard cap, so some people want to push themselves way higher than everyone else. If you go to the soft caps(where probably the majority are) its not that bad. It also has the best combat system of an mmo to date. It’s different than the traditional mmo system and might take a bit to get used to but better. The game also has alot of things for people that like to focus on other stuff, like capturing horses(mounts) and breeding them, etc. Where Black Desert fails is the lack of PVE content like raids. There are world bosses that need alot of work but thats about it. They are just now implementing the pvp part of the game, Guild vs Guild siege wars. We’ll see how that goes.

I tried to get back into WoW a few months ago but they dumbed down the game way too much for my liking. Seems like they wanted to make it playable for 8 yr olds or something.

Seems they dont like to acknowledge their errors, for example mass effect 3 ending still great as they think. (Personally me think its not that bad, but could be much better.)

Hi all. Let’s imagine that I wanted to get the legendary level. Packs I get only one character, which I’ll get the legendary level. Will I be able to make the legendary level of the other characters and get these packs to another character if the achievements I’ve already got?

This is utterly ridiculous. Bioware’s message to it’s Veterans is: “Game Over. Now, start over!”

What kind of nonsense is this? STO last year had the Delta Recruit event. Yes, you had to make a Delta Recruit to participate…but in addition to the rewards for your new Delta Recruit, you got a bunch of really nice rewards for your established characters. It makes an event like that much more enticing to someone that has been around the block and back again 42 times.

I just don’t get this company’s disdain for their long-time customers. I really don’t. I have spent more on this game in 4 years, starting with my Collector’s Edition of the game, than I can even tally. Subscription fees, Cartel Coins, Character Renames / Legacy Renames / Character Slots / Character Transfers…all the while, sticking with this as a loyal customer through thick and thin. And they insult me by giving all this cool new stuff to people that haven’t been around through ghost town servers, server merges, bugs and everything else? Heck, they won’t even hand out character slots? Even cheapa$$ Cryptic gave a character slot for the Delta Recruit event!

But this….EIGHT NEW CHARACTERS? Bioware clearly has a crack problem, and they need to get themselves into rehab like yesterday. Lay off the pipe fellas, it’s frying your brains.

I will not participate in this event. STO has a new event this year, which I will be doing instead, and I will play my existing characters when I feel like it, just as I’ve been doing. But I won’t jump through their metrics hoops and I won’t pad their data for them. If this is what their big plan is, constant rehashing of the existing content over and over and over and over again….I’ll call it quits. No need to stick around, much less keep paying, for the same old stuff.

For some reason I cannot fathom they don’t want us around. I get it, got the message and will oblige. Really sad, but this will be the FIRST TIME I will not participate in an “event” (if you want to call it that…) since the game’s inception…

Truth it is, long as you’re paying, nobody cares about our rants on a fan site. (kudos to Dulfy for great efforts as always, not Dulfy’s fault for poor game development). The only means to send a signal (and save yourself the annoyance) is acting with your wallet.

I’ve thought of something! Concerning the comps what if you take a COMPLETELY neutral light & dark side points by maxing out both points? I mean do they give you both comps or do they let you choose? Since neutrality is a thing they should have some middle ground or did biofail not take that into consideration?

My understanding is the DS vs LS tally determines what companion you get, not your own personal alignment.

So if your faction, on your server, scores Light….you get the Light companion, even though you might have been totally Dark.

I could be wrong, but that was my understanding of it.

The achievement is gained when you reach Dark V or Light V. So if you can make a character go aaaaaall the way to Dark V, then do enough missions to go to Light V…. well good luck, that seems like a lot of work for two vanilla companions.

We have almost ZERO force sensitive male companions (2). More light-saber females (6 already) . . . great. All guys seem to be secret agents or ex generals with a hon solo vibe, blasters and whit, while the females get the force sensitive dangerous beauty construct. Really boring templates overused. They killed the only force male (marr) they need some diversity already. I really expected the darkside light side companion to be male.

Xalek, Darth Marr, Choza Rabbat, Vector, Scourge…

There are a lot of female companions to please the guys that have no sex lives IRL.

vector is not a force user…… and scourge doesnt count as he is not romanceable for female players.

Please let this be the end. The 3 dev monkeys working on this game seem like they are actually trying to sabotage their own shambles of an MMO.

On a lighter note, this would make the best April 1st joke ever…

Hey BioWare, if you want to make people redo what they’ve spent the last 5 years doing, at least make a timelock server like EQ with staggered expansions and old rule changes or whatever.

This, well, this is just creatively bankrupt, and it’s ammunition for all of the armchair developers who think they could do better. Because frankly anyone could.

I thought about that earlier when I was reading through the forums. Why didn’t they take one of the dead servers and rename it for the event? I mean legacy has more then a few bugs what is all this doubling up of achievements you already have going to introduce?

I actually think that the first 5 levels of rewards are ok. It’s basically making a character and completing most of the game with just one character. The Legendary Victor requirements are ridiculous. It would even be ridiculous if it was without the “Level all 8 classes to 50” requirement, but that’s just a bad joke.

No new content for the event, no imagination, rewards which I bet will prove crappy (I wouldn’t be surprised if these “best-of” packs end up having “Amazing Super Special Grand Chance Cubes” in them), and there is literally no incentive to do all of this.

Actually to get that high you have to do it twice. Once on each side and to 65 as well. Not 50. It sucks still.

Female Force-user companions again? Let’s compare amounts of male force-using companions and female:
Male – Xalek, Darth Marr, Choza Rabbat, Guss Tuno (Alliance version)
Female – Kira, Nadia, Ashara, Jaesa, Lana, Senya, Veeroa Denz, Temple (sort of, she doesn’t use any lightsabers)
Could use some diversity here

I would say that Vector is force sensitive at least and he does use willpower. How could you forget Scourge?!

And yes, they have basically a female, slim, human or human-looking female companion for almost every companion for obvious guy-pleasing reasons which is pretty sad.

I have read more then one person mention this. That it would have been nice to have a male force user romance option finally.

I mean males characters do get their choice of the first four females listed as romance options above.

You all realize of course that this is just a way to occupy us until November rehashing old content due to lack of new content. They have nothing planned outside of the companion missions they call KotFE.

Objective completed by BW then! I’ll be occupying meself with ESO much sooner than anticipated…

I have been working on ESO pretty regularly since Feb. I was half and half ESO/SWTOR until May, now I’m mostly in ESO. I believe that I will be ESOing it up MUCH more often now… Poor SWTOR, so much potential, such shitty Dev’s…

I was waiting for this expansion to complete, make a sub to get all Chapters, see what their plans were in the slim hope some new content would be added… So mid August, early September I was going to buy ESO… Now I have doubts if I’m even going to get all Chapters from KotFE… I’m really gutted by this…

Strange someone not reported you yet, i would if i were close to your character in game. No fence. )

Oh you should see the shitstorm once on The Red Eclipse… Someone named his character Hitler… THAT was a fun night…

Im on red eclipse, sometimes i see strange names, i try to not think about it. If i join group with someone like this i report name. Sure people have rights to call char as they want, but i have rights too to have normal game experience.

That’s the only objective I really don’t like. I could sort of find some place for them (through reach 50 – delete) but i won’t have enough time and patience to lvl them. That’s total bullshit.

Your not the least bit pissed you also have to re-level all 5 crafting professions. You got any idea just how much that would suck. How expensive that would be? And can you imagine if you didn’t level in the story but did FP or PVP and only had one or two companions. The whole LS/DS thing is a cluster “F”.

and thats in conjunction with leveling every class to 50 and at least 2 of those to 65 who also have to do Sor and all of KotFE – AGAIN….

I ´m starting to hope they posted this crap in hopes players would be pissed off, and then BW/EA would come up with “It will be retroactive because we love our costumers and hear their fucks all over” strategy.

The more I read about it, the less sense it makes!

Can be possible, but i think effect would be stronger if they said this from beginning, so not likely. Again, this my opinion.

Dam I love this game but this is one massive slap in the face – why would I bother making a new character especially when all the best looking armour was mostly in 1.0-2.0. No point in this event sorry.

Also I would say fix the courting gifts but… nah whatever this recycled content is insulting

Oh my god, thank you. I thought I was the only one who has a stock of those damn gifts in their storage. Elara’s my wife, damn it, why doesn’t she love me anymore?!

Also, yeah, no way I’m creating eight more characters, even if some of these rewards look fucking awesome.

Good work biofuckup, you manage to piss alot of your subs. This is just another way to to get people. Are they going to give free tokens? I bet we have to pay for the token. Fuck you Bioware you cheap not creative idiots .

That was rude, you know. I have life and doing all of those objectives, except for Legendary, won’t take much of a time, even for a man, who plays just 2 hours per day.

I don’t cry at morons like you buddy. It must be something, live in the world, where no one needs you and you trying to blame other people, for the how shitty your life is. It’s alright, buddy, we understand.

It was actually a reflection of people like you, who can’t play games with having life and girlfriends. Like soul said, you are slaves of endless stupid illogical cliche. And probably a troll.

Well, your every comment state you as a moron, so no, sorry to break your dream world, but you are a lower person. And just to end this dialog.

Well look at the bigger picture, only moron i see you, Bioware gives you shit, and you eat it up like a dipshit and you enjoy it. Good luck waiting long times queues for fp.

So in another words, you call people shit, only because they like what you don’t. You once again approved that you are a truly are a moron. It is no secret, BW could make a bigger job and this event is kinda lame. At least, not what i expected, but i like the rewards and to get all tiers, except for Legendary one, won’t take much of my time. So.. like.. why not? Game itself not so bad and i don’t have ANY in-game issues.

SHUT THE FUCK YOU DUMBSHIT, I KNOW YOU IN RL BUDDY, ONE OF YOUR BUDDIES SAID AFTER WATCHING SO MANY EPISODES OF GAME OF THRONES AND SEEING A FEW CHARACTERS SAY THEY GOT BIG C0CK, YOU WENT AND GOT A C0CK ENLARGEMENT!!!! HOLY SHIT HOW MUCH DID IT COST YOU?!?!!?!!

SO HOW BIG YOUR WEINER?!?! MINES 24 INCHS BLACK POWAAA!!!

Why dont you just drop the rest of the cliches as well? Just tell him he lives in his moms basement, and all that? No point at stopping with no life, and no girlfriend right? Yes legendary is going to be a pain for most of us. I will most likely not hit legendary. But the rest is very doable. Once you have the new armor set, assuming it stacks with the rest of the xp boosts, making 50 can be done inside a day or two if you take your time. But I guess to do that you cant have a life.

I’m please at least someone likes it – I still feel this game has a lot to offer and hope it doesnt collapse from this ‘recycled’ content

Honestly thou, the one thing i truly concerned about – do we get new companions ONLY on our characters, who walked through event or we get them on ALL of our characters, in the end of the event. I kinda missed this point.

Companions will be legacy wide. One character completes the required objectives all toons in that legacy will be able to get teh companion.

It’s ok mate, it’s a free world. If you are gonna like this, more power to you. I mean that, no irony. If it was 2012 I was probably going to enjoy this as well…

Um, no! During a brain storming session its quite common to just have ideas flowing. I, however, would like to know what the idea team leader was thinking that this would be a good idea to purpose to the rest of the development team, and then what the full team was thinking in terms of its implementation.

Basically, I’m not surprised that made it to the idea stage. How it made it beyond that utterly baffles me.

Jesus… fucking… Christ…

I thought, “Oh, this is going to be fun. I have yet to play as a Knight or Inquisitor, and I can do light and dark side respectively. Awesome!” This is completely different than what I thought. That’s a fucking ton of things to do. That’s a month straight, easily. This event better be going for a long time, because there’s no way I’m devoting 100% of my time to this game for the foreseeable future. We basically have to fully level multiple characters and complete almost every non-operation activity that’s currently in the game. That’s way too much time required, and that’s me saying that, by no means a “casual” gamer. I have the time, at least until I go on vacation for Comic Con in San Diego, but I don’t like the idea of playing through the same activities multiple times. Completing every flashpoint on all difficulties (if the group finder is feeling generous), beating Eternal Championship, even fully leveling a character, that takes a significant amount of time, not to mention the fact that we have to level ALL EIGHT classes despite most of us having fully leveled classes already. Some parts of this should definitely be retroactive, or this is just a simple waste of time. You might as well just ask us to complete every activity in the game on the hardest difficulty on all three disciplines on all sixteen specializations. Unless this event takes place over the course of a year, at the very least six months, there’s no way I’m getting past the three or four tiers.

Yeah, I went back through that giant last step and noticed that the second time. At least they didn’t actually include every operation on hard mode. It’s just so incredibly stupid to reuse all of the game’s old content to extend subscriptions. It’s just insane.

This is kind of brilliant from a “We have X active subscriptions” sense. But total shit in the “I am not leveling 8 more friggin toons….” sense.

What do you get for leveling 8 toons? I dont see that listed at looks like theres different stuff for doing either/both a republic and/or a emire character – so 1 or 2 toons at most

For the Legendary Level:

“Alliance Hero

To complete the objective “The Story Continues” [sic], you must take a Dark vs.

Once all eight Classes among your Characters have reached level 50, you will receive the Achievement “Dark vs. Light: Alliance Hero” to note that you have completed this objective.”

Thanks for your help. I just totally glossed over it multiple times lol
That really sucks though. : /

You’ll get 2 new armors (1 legacy with XP boosts & 1 that’s mailed to each character), 1 new pet for each character, 1 new mount for each character, 5 new legacy titles, and at least 15 of those packs. Not bad.

Yeah but in ESO I have a Yoshi. That shouldnt be the adamantium counter argument that it is, but there you have it.

I’m just pointing out that you can get a majority of the rewards without having to do that last tier 🙂
Even with two characters, you don’t have to do content with both. Both just have to be 65. That means only one run through of SoR and KotFE is required.

I have 16 characters currently. One of each class on each faction. All are done with all current content through Chapter 15 save for the E-Championship on most. All are Light V save for one, who is Dark III. I’e killed everything that could be killed via Ops, FPs, etc. I’ve done GSF and Warzone until my eyes bled. I even farmed HK-51 parts on 12 of the 16 toons… I done it all, now you are asking me to do it again on two more if I want everything?!

That is months of new work, and 3 years of pass work for nothing. They are going to have to make some of the achvs retroactive or the Top tiers are only going to be broken by very few people that will troll the rest of us because we dont have 18+ hours a day for the next 6 months to devote to this shit.

I hate to say this, but I’m going back to WoW and play through Legion, because this shit just hit my line of no return.

The more I think about this event it seems like they’re doing what every newspaper subscription’s goal is: they don’t give a shit about the letters to the editor, as long as they get a few months of record circulation numbers. After the noob influx wears off the event will be a middle finger to them as well as the vets.

To me this ENTIRE event seems like a pre-6.0 resource drain:
-Drain all your mats leveling new skills
-Drain all your time doing stuff you already did years ago
-Drain all your credits on Big spender decos
-Drain all your Cartel Coins buying server slots

Bioware needs to make all these things retroactive. simple

More like a time drain since there will be barely minimal new content coming. They just keep looking for ways to rehash old stuff and make us think “oh boy, a new mission!!”

LOLOLOLOL! Really? You’re serious? Grind more rehashed content?

Ok I think I am finally begining to understand what’s wrong, I’m playing the wrong game. I was under the impression this was an MMORPG not a hamster wheel.

Oh well, thanks for the lesson. Guess it’s time to unsub, bye.

Bioware: “Hey guys we need some more time since we haven’t even started creating the story for Season 2 KOTFE so we made a new “event” to keep you busy.”

Me: “Fuck You! I’m so happy my sub was canceled 4 Jun.”

Well there you have it folks. The utter contempt and laziness BW has for it’s sub base especially for the people who stuck around for years and kept these fuckwits in a job is now on full display and no longer being hidden by them that even Fanboi’s cannot make a valid excuse (though they will no doubt try and be laughed at) for this utter disgrace.

I said to my wife (who also used to play SWTOR) when we made the sad decision to unsub early this year after the death of group content and shit single story that KOTFE is (among other reasons relating to 4.0) that I hope the way BW recycled the heroics in 4.0 is a one off and not a sign of what they plan to do outside of their piss weak monthly chapter releases. Even I did not imagine BW could be this outright lazy and give it’s long time players this middle finger of epic proportions. If this game is making BW/EA over 100 million in the last quarter like the fanboi’s love to gloat, where the honest to God fuck is all the money going to because it sure as hell is not going back into the game in any way, shape or form. For that much money, this game should be blooming and getting ACTUAL new content, not recycled shit. With that much money coming in, EA could make even more money from this game if they invested said earnings into the game but no, this game is in maintenance mode until even the Cartel whales give up.

I could go on but many others have wonderfully covered all my other thoughts on this in the posts below already except one: DULFY HERSELF!!

Dulfy, I would love to hear your thoughts on this event and the direction SWTOR is heading.

No, just no, I’m not going through all that for a companion that will probably have one conversation when you first recruit them and then be like every other companion.

I was under the impression they would be keeping track of all the dark/light decisions players were making and after the event, if you log on before a certain date you can claim a companion that the entire player base helped determine its alignment and to a degree its personality.

But I’m not starting a new character and getting it through all of KOTFE and round five of EC. Ironically I was going to start a new character for the event and go through the first three chapters since those are actually fun to replay and offer some good light/dark decisions.

The operative word here RRR is “CHANCE” to get Tulak Hord set. With the time it would take to get the “CHANCE” to get this, you could make enough credits and just outright buy the set off the GTN in a far quicker time.

Why call it Light vs, Dark event? What does regrinding all the old content from level 1 have to do with Light Side or Dark Side?

because if your want light side, you will unsub to enjoy the summer. Going Dark side you will play this event and spend all your free time away from family and friends. lol

maybe lightside you endure all the grind and feel good about yourself that you had the willpower to slog through everything
darkside you burst into flames due to how boring it all was

ahhh.. more news to support my decision to unsub 7 months ago and completely uninstall 4 months ago. I didn’t know the game could be run further into the ground. I was wrong *shrug*

Honestly, Breaktown Brawler is fine. People who have trouble with it don’t understand that you need to KITE the boss, and maintain aggro on him, all in melee range. Phase 5 of Zotar and the Doom Droid’s basic attack come MUCH closer to being unbalanced. Don’t believe me? I’ve done the whole championship multiple times in only Zioat level gear (and PVP relics)!!!! My companion is < level 20 btw (dont remember exact number). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOCV3yVGzNg

Nerfing would only damage the content at this point, because they stupidly allow you to bring in full 216 gear, use heroic moment on cooldown, possess a brain, and win! It already has failed at its job, because it teaches people that 216 gear is enough to ignore half the mechanics in an ops fight.

I don’t really mind the heroic moment use, just because the last boss can require a ton of burst towards the end of it. None of this thing needs to be nerfed, it’s actually quite easy, just requires that you learn each fight, which is something they were hoping for. In some fights I wish they’d buff certain things to be honest

The burst at the end of the last boss is intentional, and honestly a brilliant move by bioware, if only it worked as intended. Both the focus laser and the last 50% on zotar serve as a dps check for dps players (once you run out of koltos and cooldowns you can’t get another laser), which I can tell you as someone who pugs SM ops daily, the #1 problem in SM pug groups is the lack of an ability to pull decent numbers under stress. Sadly the heroic moment ability, AND the lack of a gear nerf or restriction makes this move in vain.

You mean I’ve busted my *ss for years since launch to get anywhere near these requirements only to have to do that same work again in a matter of a few months? Yeah, f*ck this.

If I was a newer subscriber, this event would be alright; I’d have incentives to level up the other classes I haven’t played, run through the stories and missions I haven’t done, and be rewarded for doing so. But I’m not a newer subscriber, and most of the playerbase does not consist of newer subscribers. Furthermore, I’m willing to bet that many players that would even have the time to participate in this event have already done about 70% of what you’re asking to do–if the comment section of this post is any indication.

I don’t know how this event even got past a five minute discussion during a Bioware lunch break. That boggles my mind. Why didn’t it occur to anyone then and there that this is the worst thing they have ever done since Rise of the Hutt Cartel?

I’ve been proud to stand by this game for years. I’ve defended it at its lowest points. I’ve spent so much time becoming attached to the characters, my characters, the worlds, and the stories. But they’ve finally managed to lose me, and it’s because of this atrocity towards the people who love this game. I can honestly say that I’ve lost my respect for the developers.

Wow, okay other MMOs events: “do this new thing and get rewards!”

SWTOR event: play it all over again and get rewards!

I have all 8 classes stories done, not re-doing any of their stories and certainly not all 8…

I just ended my sub for good, when the best they can come up is “let’s give them rewards for doing what they have already done” you know the dev team either gave up or is just that incompetent to think it’s a good idea.

Either way, they don’t deserve my money.

Going to be putting more time into Fallout 4 I guess. Ye gods I hope the devs have a sense of the dreck storm they’ve stirred up. This is pretty much what is going on at swtor lol. Haven’t seen people this bent since the slot machine fiasco!

Let’s just hope that this is just a late April Fool’s prank and they will let us know tomorrow. Doubtful, but we can hope…

For those who are wondering how Bioware got this utterly awful idea from, well I heard whispers that it was movie night not too long ago in the cardboard box BW Austin calls their Office and Eric “Fucktard” Musco always being late on everything as usual, just discovered a movie everyone was raving about (Remember Eric is slow and behind on everything) called Mad Max: Fury Road!!!

Some in the BW Austin office had seen it while others gave their best impression of giving a single fuck, having mastered it by using it on the player base and SWTOR itself. But since no one spoke up and little fucktard Eric was oh so full of excitement, they went ahead and watched the movie.

Now it was here where the details gets a little hazy but in between watching the movie where some dev’s sneaked away to make more money for their EA Overlords by reskinning existing gear in the game for the Cartel Market and calling it new, inspiration hit one of these BW drones when they heard the war boys chant their famous line “I LIVE, I DIE, I LIVE AGAIN!!” throughout the movie.

This said BW Drone then screamed “EUREKA!!! I JUST GOT AN IDEA FOR A NEW EVENT!! The movie was paused and all eyes turned to this dev who continued their train of thought.

I LIVE, I DIE, I LIVE AGAIN!! What if we make an event where everyone has to redo everything already in the game for years again to participate. I LIVE!! But they cannot use their current toons or legacy to do it. I DIE!! They have to make all new toons, do the whole game again including events, world bosses, fp’s and ops using ONLY these new toons?? I LIVE AGAIN!!!! And have incentives for doing it being new titles and armors. Excited whispers began among the team for they knew if this idea saw the light, then very few of them would need to do any actual work. In fact it could all be done by Pablo, the office cleaner who just got a crash course on how to reskin armors and speeders after that one night fling he had with one of the drunk CM girls at the KOTFE release party.

But then doubt began to spread. Would it work? Would the shit eating lemmings they call the player base take to it? “We recycled so many things in the past” one said…… “Why would this be any different??” Another found his courage and said “They expect so much and we have failed them time and again yet they still remain. It can work!!!”

This was all followed by excitement as they declared the rest of the year a holiday and went home content in how little they actually did the whole year.

The lights were turned off leaving Eric Fucktard Musco in the dark. Poor little Eric. So afraid of the dark. As he heard all his fellow workers leave for the year, he rocked himself back and forth whispering “Choices Matter, Choices Matter” before coincidentally the DVD player (No Blu-ray for BW Austin were behind on technology as well) unpaused itself with a timely retort about the idea by Immortan Joe who declared:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fbry0X7OmM

Yeah no, they googled mmorpg news, saw Diablo 3 seasons and ripped it off, but made it worse, as in seasons you can take a toon and make it level 1 instead of needing to make new ones.

Having never played Diablo 3, care to explain how their event worked in relation to the pure facepalm that Bw announced? You got me curious.

Diablo 3 events last about 3-4 months. Each time you start from scratch. That means create new character and level up + gear. Also get some achievements while doing so in season and few cosmetic items.
Rince and repeate each season. For those who dont have life can also push into leaderboards. Difference is that SWtOR is MMORPG that SHOULD NOT make events like in Diablo where its basically only thing left to do.

Ah sadly no, I too have not played it, just have people I know say that.
This is how it works, kind of the same thing, its about trying to get old players back into the game, and trying to get people who did not do content to do it, and giving new players a chance to group up and get rewards.
http://www.diablowiki.net/Seasons
It is a good idea, but people want to complain, it is the right way to do it, everyone is on level field, if you made it retroactive then personally I would have every reward except the last without doing a thing, so would lots of other players.

Courting gifts still broken, KOTFE content last 1-2 hours at best, no new raids and 99% of all the companions we have get 30 seconds of speaking lines.

Unless this companion gets its own story like HK did or any of the original companions did this is a giant waste of time. I would have done the events if I could use my characters already leveled and geared, but they want me to start all over again? No way. The rewards are pretty cool, but this is some dumb level of grind they expect us to do. $14.99 says the new companion is just like all the other new ones we’ve gotten in KOTFE.

No, you only get one of the companions. If the darkside choices win, then everyone gets the darkside comp, if there are more lightside choices we get the lightside chick, that’s why we get the companions at the end of the event

To be fair, apparently there was a thing done that showed there are more lightside options done or something like that, so we’ll see.

I really hope light wins just cause I’d much rather have a chiss sentinel than another assassin, and it would be the first chiss companion.

No, only brand new characters that start at level 1 after the even goes live are eligible. But the titles and end of event rewards are legacy wide and the rewards from the packs will unlock to collections so you can pay to get them on existing characters

Yes it does. You think it does, I think it does, and 480-plus people on this thread alone think it does…

But somehow, Bioware thought it would be a cool idea…

Go figure…

It only counts for characters created june 28th or later of this year. So no concerns about characters having to repeat.

I spend millions on items for two characters created within the last month, making their outfit designer look how I want, only to find that now I will need to remake them(as they are the two classes I have any inclination to level again)…..

At least let one of my characters count for this shit already

Sooo…do I get this right? We *need* a new legacy to achive this? Like, start on a new server and then spend CC to come back to our original server…?

You don’t need a new legacy. Just everything you have done up untill june 28th has been pointless as far as this event is concerned. If you have 8 free character slots then you are good to go.

I agree with all said below and HUGE slap in the face to founders. Don’t worry about the gear, mounts and titles though guys and gals they will be in KotFE season 2-3 cartel packs and eventually on the GTN so start saving hahaha

Got excited last year when more story content was announced. Was a tad shocked to find out they alienated a good chunk of their regulars by not adding more of those grinds they call ops (I don’t like em at all, but power to you if u do). After all grinders are usually (in my exp) the ones that will keep subbing instead of just going F2P. Was also weird they didn’t give PvP’s much hope either (another crowd that loves that endless grind; again if u dig it power to u), but I shrugged and said, “meh, maybe its just time to give us the [people that play for the stories] something new to sink our teeth into, and then next year they’ll flip again and give some of the others some love”.

Its been almost a year and I see no love coming towards the PvPs or Ops players, which means I’ll probably never ever again see familiar faces in the game? Now they tell me that I need to play a level 1 again after I have 18 characters (14 already maxed out) just to participate in this event? I rather walk barefoot on broken glass while chewing on tinfoil!

Seems I can defy statistical odds by having unknowingly investing $$$ in some of the worse MMO dev teams so far (my game before this one made its expansion PvP, not to mention its literally impossible to do last map of game solo, and game before that, well it has developed a penchant for unlocking ALL new powers behind gamble boxes and still has launch bugs from almost 7 yrs ago).

Guess I needed to vent a bit. I will always have fond memories of you SWTOR, but

Agreed. I just wanted to see dark side/light side choices of each class at least once (thats 16), then I got a free lvl 60 character and free trial of chapter 1 (that’s 17), and I really cant remember if #18 was just coz I had a full set of gear none of my other characters had and didn’t want to gtn or mothball it. That’s how much I enjoyed the story parts of the game, but I have already seen them all, I really don’t think I want to have to go thru it all again just to participate in this ‘event’.

Since i am preferred player can’t post on the forum so i hope Eric reads comments here or someone post it on the forum……

Can Eric state which of those achievements require you to make new legacy on new server( if you already have lvl 50 on eight classes) and which require only to make new character in current/ main Legacy

But if to obtain all achievement lvls must be done in one and same legacy does basically means in order to get all you MUST create new one (legacy)?

Titles will unlock only in the current so mostly not the players main legacy ONLY? (You MUST transfer characters to you main sever to have them?)

Dark vs. Light Packs and Pioneer Armor Set – given to character on New Legacy so i have to pay for character transfer to have those on my Main Legacy?

Pack bind on force alignment -> does it means character current alignment or current overall choices alignment or we have to wait till the end of the event so the alignment that wins will make those pack dark or light sided?

Every one who are eligible to pet companion will get the the same alignment rewards depending on which side wins?

Thanks everyone who reads it

and thanks to anyone who will give me answers 🙂

Lol… I have to take my hat off to you guys at Bioware: over time you managed to piss off sections of your playerbase… This time though you managed to piss off EVERYBODY! This is great, no pvp versus pve, “casual” versus “raider” stuff… This time we can all agree: this is as LAZY as it gets, you rehashed the WHOLE GAME on a single move…

Oh but you forgot one thing: how about doing the seeker droids and macrobinoculars missions ALL OVER AGAIN TOO???

Just stop already. Quit while it still looks good. While your sacred metrics say that more people than ever are playing this sorry excuse for a game. You make me sick. If I was half as bad at my job as you guys are, my ass would be so fired I would have to call the Fire Department to put it off…

Hats that were not created after june 28th taken of heads not created after june 28th don’t count. You will have to purchase a new hat an create a new head for credit

A disturbance….as though millions of swtor players were crying out in terror, and then suddenly…silence.

Seriously, what a load of crap.
If they really expect veteran players to do this, they should have at least made the rewards ACCOUNT-WIDE and directed us to the lowest populated servers. >>

If you click that you’ll go from 484 comments to about 5 or 6… Not even the white knights can argue over this one I think…

I know. Would make the comment reading less tedious.
I feel like they finally shut up the white knights. You’re right there is still 5-6 still kicking around

those carebears are to busy grinding away toons otherwise theyd tell us how hurt thier feelings are = (

Since yours isn’t working allow me to type down what it says.

“Players are interested and passionate over this event.”
Every comment eliciting new information. Also every comment that includes profanity, or how it is discriminatory and a slap in the face.

“High level of involvement from player base”
The internet is full of posts on this event(assuming here, I only glance at Dulfy, but other posts indicate that their forums and other fansites have also garnered a large number of posts in a short amount of time.

“Mostly positive outlook”
Most of the complaints seem to stem from the ridiculous laundry list to receive “Legendary” while I see several people reacting with interest to the lower level rewards. Therefore a majority of the content is liked while a small portion is vehemently disliked.

*extrapolation, may or may not appear in BW screens. This is a beta feature still in testing.

“Goal achieving”
If the purpose of this event is not to maintain or increase subs I think it will achieve a decent player retention. Reactions with this much passion typically indicate an increased level of attachment to the product and while their may be a decline in the short term most studies indicate that people will check sites for news even if they don’t log in. This increases the likelihood that they will catch a trailer or info on season 2 get interested and probably sub for at least a portion of season 2.

If I were to return to the game (been subbed for 4 years since day 1), this event is supposed to stimulate me to delete some of my characters and level them all over again, doing all the things I did, all over the place, because having done it a few times in the past doesn’t count. And that is after all content was already scaled once, while some flashpoints and operations were scaled three times. Meanwhile there is still nothing new other than a few nice cutscenes monthly, which I can see on Youtube.
Hhrrrrrmmmmmm, nah, maybe another time.
Rather wait for the huge expansion coming later this summer for the game that shall not be named.

Lol Legion is gonna flop just all all the previous expansions. It’s a rollercoaster that is only going further and further down the drain.

Now lets be fair if you hate WoW. The ONLY xpac that was a flop was WoD, saying ALL previous xpacs were flops reeks of just pure hate for the game/company and trying to make up something to seem self-important.

Well, the game has been hemorrhaging subs for the better half of a decade. I don’t know if you can say it was only WoD that flopped. Every single expansion, since TBC has had less subs when the expansion ended, than when it began. And it’s so low now, that they won’t even talk about it anymore. It’s just a matter of time now.

“Like all the previous expansions”, really? (Draenor did flop in terms of retaining subscribers, one miss in a decade).
But let’s not turn into an argument for or against Blizzard’s games. I expressed my great disappointment with the extremely poor development of SWTOR in which I invested so much time, effort and money, so it hurts. And I mentioned that I’ve went back to playing an MMO that I feel is superior in every aspect. I did it along with fifteen others who quit swtor. But I also know people who went to play ESO, STO, EVE or quit MMOs altogether. It won’t be me who defends a game that rescales 4 years old content without adding anything new, no matter if it flies the “Star Wars” and “BioWare” labels in hopes of milking you through the cash shop.

Gonna pass, not re-subbing just to replay all the content that i’ve already played through multiple times. If anything, i should just log into the Game and have all rewards for already completing everything on the to-do list.

Seems like BioWare Austin is trying to squeeze as much money out of the Game to get people back to re-subbing and buying their lottery packs without putting a lot of work into the Game. Honestly, they made so much money from this Game they could easily re-build it with a new Engine for better visuals and improved performance, hell even get it to run on Consoles to increase the player base like every other MMO is currently doing and still be in the green.

Gonna pass, too. No interest in doing all the content again and again and over again. I’ve a 50 hours / week working shift. I’m no student or so. And I’ve family to care for. Soo… no time for this either. Better going on a good holiday trip with wife and kids :).
And in the and … it’s just a game. Not a full time job.

Wuahahahahaha, Bioware, you bunch of old joksters and pranksters, you. Dudes come on, it’s not even April anymore! I mean, I almost bought it. All this shit abou-… (A sheet of paper is handed to Wedge on which is written a short note in shaky handwriting. Profoundly confused and with a rising
level of perplexity his eyes follow the departing messenger, who is hurrying on to the next player.) Huh? Wot? This is serious? What does that even mean? Hey, come back, I’ve got further questions! Hey…

Well, well, well, all my characters (one of each class, all 65, all finished the class story, obviously) – some of them created minutes after server start back on Christmas 2011 and since then fighting the good/evil fight for the Republic/the Empire, these toons that carried me through this world, representing my legacy and my time in the game, these toons that virtually embody all the ridiculous marketing gobbledygook and empty phrases and all the un-bear-able fucking marketing bullshit about “this is your journey” and “your decisions matter” and “find your place in the galaxy” and “leave your mark in history” and “play your own meaningful, rich, deep story” and whatever else these shitcunts vomit out of their marketing-cancer ridden faces – all these characters are left out… They can’t participate in any way, shape or form. In the event that will impact the shape of the entire galaxy this fall…

You know, I really like honesty and I much preferred if Bioware just wrote me a plain, black on white email telling they don’t wanna see my fuckface in their game any longer and that I should go play something else.

Nope not doing it Bioware I did the level grind I fail to see how this is suppose to be a event or anything like that.

Don’t award people who’ve been playing you game for years or anything

this might be awesome if you had a group that would stick together till the end, doing this solo seems painful :/

Soo we have companion grind fest and now we have “let me play again all the content I had already played” fest…. Fu BW.

Nah, fuck off BW, no money from me this time, time to unsub, gonna play something different while waiting for a good content if it will be created, which means..never? Lol

So I’ll give this abortion a try.

I don’t need to do things on separate characters right? AKA I just need to 1-50 the 8 classes?

I was gonna have my main lvl 65 just be the final character/s I don’t delete at the end…

You also have to get all crafting skills (Cybertech, Biochem, etc.) to 550. So you need to do that on individual characters. Or if you’re a masochist do it on your event “main” and continually delete the skills.

This isn’t even an abortion. That’s insulting to abortions. This is more like a stillborn.

WTF? I can understand BW wants to encourage new players to play the game (even though their ways to achieve such thing are quite strange), but why not to reward all those people, who play for years? I’m really dissapointed.

Not sure I’m with on that one. I play since launch, but I don’t want a reward for that. I just want to NOT BE PENALISED for being a supporter for so long. Also, since I put so much time into this, I’d like to have the characters I ALREADY leveled (24 of them to be precise) to be able to do, you know, SOMETHING… But rolling new ones that I don’t need, getting character slots to increase the number of toons I can play, doing the WHOLE GAME all over again… It boggles the mind, it resembles a chore, it equates WORK, a JOB. And I don’t pay to do a job, I GET PAID when I do a job. They can suck on my lightsaber for what I’m concerned…

Agreed. “Legacy” tier would have been a nice touch, or a new daily area from one of the myriad of “once and done” locales to get a special comm to spend on event specific rewards. Or even slightly revamping the rewards from say Yavin and Ziost during the duration of the event.

Look, there’s plenty of ideas that would be cool:

– Upping rewards on dailies, or even a new daily, God forbid, would be cool. Dailies are mostly empty these days, and rightfully so, since you get more money AND crystals if you group up and do Heroics;

– A new Casino event, but this time with REAL games! Screw the slot machines! Pazaak, Dejarik… With Tournaments! How cool would that be??? With some nice rewards for the Tournament winner(s). Introducing gamer decks would be oh so cool;

– Speeder races! On circuits spread across all planets, or some of them. Equally with rewards for the race winners. Like the ship game NO ONE plays, we could get our Cybertechs to produce upgrades for the speeders, and they could even make some money from developing Cartel Market speeders.

Of course, all this would involve ACTUAL work from the dev team. This is just bits and pieces I thought of out the top of my head. How in the name of the Force do these people not think of this??? Your guess is as good as mine…

After doing Tython two more times, I’m pretty sure I’ll hang myself.
That’s what you want BioWare? Yes?

That’s why I don’t. After leveling 16 characters, with second 8 already being quite tiresome endevour, i’m definetely not running a sinlge more. And that kinda excludes me from “event”, which was supposed to be something new and fun. For all means and purposes, for people fed up with leveling the event either doesn’t exist or is a huge source of irritation. Hence the hate it gathers, quite well-deserved for such stupid idea

Because rewards!?

Btw. if somebody doesn’t enjoy leveling all 8 classes again doesn’t mean this person doesn’t enjoy the game at all!

Once more we are seeing evidence that they should thank the original dev team for crafting the content of Makeb and Oricon so that even after they have been fired this game still had some decent content (people can whine all they want about Makeb but it still came with one different story line for each faction where the NPCs were still acknowledging your class allowing you to play with a friend, with an op boss, with a new operation, with the macro and seeker droid quest line, etc.).

Since then the new dev team has been unable to create anything decent. We got SOR that was nothing but a solo RPG completed in 5 hours (watching all the cutscenes) and KOTFE that is nothing but a companion mission every month. How can they proud themselves with rehashing content over and over?!

If you make a calendar and write down all activity it will be like real work. Each day doing activites for 4 months. No time for real life then it can be done. But if you miss one event then all effort will be gone. I started to calculate a bit and you have to log in every day at least 8h+ to even have a chance let alone RNG factor things like completing all FP’s and some opses.

is this shenanigan bullshit enough to sue them for false advertisement?? they said something new. now i see he meant ‘new character’.

everyone expected a real event, but no.. this is even worse than something lame that they would do…

I can’t tell if they’re lazy or if they genuinely don’t have the resources to come up with anything complete new.

You can’t? Let me lay it out for you: they ARE lazy, and lack the intelectual resources to do anything productive, copying all the bad ideas OTHER MMO’s have come up with in the past…

1 thing is to work for reward, another is do work already and saw how you get to do all again.

It’s not compulsory. Why re-run eternal champ on many chars – to get the rewards/achievements, same with Kotfe rewards.
If you don’t like repetition don’t go for achievements.

and eternal champion at least was new content. It was new to do but yes, even it has it’s limits in replay-ability.

There is nothing new about this BS event of re-grinding the entire game like it was 2012 again.

I LOVE rewards you have to work for. HK quest (51) was awesome. Gree equip is cool. Etc. Etc. But who wants to regrind the entire frigg’n game again??? It’s not an event. An event has content. Something. Anything.

LS/DS event is nothing but busy work. That BS crap your teachers used to do so they could hide out in the teachers lounge and have a drink while you did some worthless, rinse repeat work that means nothing.
