SWTOR 5.0 Uprisings Guide

A guide to the Uprisings Content introduced with SWTOR 5.0 Game Update.

General Info

Uprisings are a new four-player group content introduced with Patch 5.0. They are meant to be a lite version of flashpoints with no cutscenes and all action. Each Uprising should take regular groups about ~15 minutes to complete at the easiest difficulty. They are only available to Level 70 players and can be accessed in three ways

  • Via the Galactic Command system (can’t select specific uprisings, auto-queue)
  • Via the Group Finder (can select specific uprisings to queue but can’t enter with less than 4 players)
  • Via the Uprising Terminal in Combat Training section of the fleet (allow you to enter with less than 4 players and with companions)

swtor-uprisings-guideswtor-uprisings-guide-2

Currently only Story and Veteran Uprisings modes are available. Five Uprisings are available with 5.0 launch and more are planned in the future along with Master mode Uprising that are more difficult.

  • Story Uprisings are meant for fresh level 70s
  • Veteran Uprisings are meant for players in mid-tier (234/236 rating gear)
  • Master Uprisings are meant for players in top tier (240/242 rating gear)

CXP Farming

Uprisings are meant to be a good place to farm Command XP. They give 160 CXP and 200 CXP base for completion on story and veteran mode respectively but the last boss also drops an Uprising Bonus pack for everyone (Story mode drops Small Bonus Pack which give 240 CXP). Add in the daily activity bonus (20% more CXP), the CXP you get from killing the bosses, or the CXP Bonus from the Light/Dark Victory State and you could see about 500 CXP every 10 minutes with a premade group earning potentially 3000 CXP an hour with very little downtime.

The five Uprisings differ slightly in length as well

  • Inferno and Fractured are the shortest Uprisings. (Fractured has only 2 bosses while Inferno has 4 and they are about the same length so Inferno give the best CXP per run).
  • Firefrost is slightly longer.
  • Done and Dusted and Crimson Fang are probably the longest due to multitude of bosses that have high HP.

In addition, there are weekly quests for story and veteran Uprisings that give 200 CXP and 300 CXP respectively.

Power Ups

Something unique to Uprisings are the power ups. These power ups are usually found in clickable crates and once discovered, they go on your special action bar. There are three types of power ups: Thermal Devastator, Tempest Rocket Launcher, and Combat Clarity.

swtor-uprising-power-upsswtor-uprising-power-ups-3swtor-uprising-power-ups-2

Thermal Devastor is great against waves of trash as it can one shot low health trash packs and send those alive flying in all directions. Tempest Rocket Launcher does fairly decent single target damage and can be used on bosses if they don’t have the buff that grant them resistance to Prototype Weaponry (these Power Ups). Combat Clarity is great for tough boss fights since it basically remove the CD and resource for a particular key ability for your discipline, allowing you to spam it over and over.

Thermal Devastor and Tempest Rocket Launcher have two charges while Combat Clarity only has one charge.

Decorations and Mounts

Decorations

There are three achievements in Uprisings that grant decorations

Uprising Achievement Decoration
Crimson Fang swtor-swift-and-silent-achievements Alem “Whisper” Reesus Holo
Done and Dusted swtor-rage-awakened-achievement Rakesh the Foul Holo

Some decorations also drop off the Inferno Uprising (Adacin/Zanisk) and the Crimson Fang Uprising (Red Huntress)

Mounts

Each Uprising is suppose to drop an unique mount. This drop on Veteran mode and as a rare drop off the storymodes.

Achievements

Observe and Report: Crimson Fang

Found the agent sent to observe your performance in the Crimson Fang Uprising. This guy is right before Elarea on top of the scaffoldings.

swtor-observe-and-report-crimson-agent-2swtor-observe-and-report-crimson-agent

To get to him, you need to stand here (right outside the last med station before the final boss) and look up. There is a magnetic grappler you can click to get up (may take a few tries). Once you get up, it is a simple matter of running along the pipes and drop down to him.

swtor-inferno-uprising

swtor-inferno-uprising-2swtor-inferno-uprising-guide

  • Lord Wrad is surrounded by several Sith Acolytes and summon groups of Sith Adepts that needs to be dealt with.
  • The two main abilities that Wrad will spam are Force Slow and Force Choke. The Force Choke is group wide and it occurs more often than your CC break comes off CD so it can get fairly annoying as healers can get choked while trying to heal people.

Lord Zanisk and Adacin

swtor-inferno-uprising-3

  • Imperial Troopers and Sith Apprentice adds will spawn on the edge of the platform and they can be knocked off.

swtor-inferno-uprising-4swtor-inferno-uprising-5

  • Zanisk will depart once you get him to ~60%, Adacin will join the fight. Her main attacks to avoid are her Force Storm attack which appears as a red circle and Volatile Blast that appears as a very long red rectangle
  • Adacin will cast a groupwide DoT called Unrelenting Corruption upon her entrance, healers will need to cleanse this DoT as it ticks quite hard.

swtor-inferno-uprising-6swtor-inferno-uprising-7

  • Adacin will depart once you push her to 60%. Then you will get a wave of adds before both coming back for the remainder of the fight
  • If one is killed before the other, the remaining Sith Lord will get an enraged buff increasing their damage output by 250% so you will want to kill them evenly (doesn’t matter as much for story mode).

Achievements

Observe and Report: Inferno

Found the agent sent to observe your performance in the Inferno Uprising. This Imperial Spy can be found close to the last boss of the Uprising on top of this structure. You can run up the structure to the left side against the wall but may need a sniper/gunslinger to use their roll to get up.

Fractured

swtor-fractured-uprising

Fractured Uprising is located inside a Sith Imperial Station where you will be fighting waves of Imperial Forces and their Commanders. This Uprising is designed a bit differently from the others with more jumping around but only two bosses.

To get past the Force Field, you will need to use this Grappling Hook past the exploding red circles. This will grapple you up into the catwalks. Once you are up the catwalks, you can jump across them using the grapple hook points. To come down from the catwalks, interact with this pad and then disable the two control panels.

Lord Anril

  • HP: 898k (story), Sith Apprentices: 33k (story)

swtor-fractured-uprisng-guide-2

  • Lord Anril has two main mechanics: He will cast Force Storm on his target and summon Sith Apprentices. You need to kill those adds ASAP and avoid his Force Storm attacks as they deal ~20k damage per tick on storymode.

Major Korven

  • HP: 901k (Story), Battledroids: 35k (story)

swtor-fractured-uprisng-guide-3

  • Major Korven’s attacks are Fire Bomb and Suppressive Fire. Suppressive Fire is a frontal AoE so you will need to turn her away from rest of the group. Fire Grenade is a PBAOE so you will want to spread to avoid her hitting everyone with it.
  • From time to time she will port away and you will need to chase her down using the same grappling hook mechanic from the catwalks. She will summon two battle droids you need to burst down.

This will probably like star fortress for me, do it to get the decos and never touch it again.
Sounds really bad for ranged players, especially sniper.

I did all the star fortresses, they were painfully boring, especially with how easy they were. That was the final straw (well that and the over powered companions being fixed, then rebroken). I was hoping the difficulty setting would help, but it doesn’t sound like it.

I didn’t even do that, I did it once to see what it was like, then went back when I had the affections high enough for the boosts to get the decos, then gave up.
I got feed up with that stupid grapple thing for the last boss, I must have died like 20 times, always thought I was facing the right way take a step and fell off the side.
Plus it was just far too long, although I imagine it would be good for farming CXP.

70 Only & Behind Paywall. Swtor’s Eaware crew got a taste of Real Dime Big time from 1st Semi Singleplayer “Expansion” called Knights of the Boo Empire. So now they came up with Paywall for “endgame” stuff & naturally put it like that as Swtor never really had any actual Endgame Content. Also could be that they expect for new Sheepies to join & keep wallets open after seen Partially Ugly Knights of the Eternal Farming CGI trailer.

So they’re experimenting the Paywall with that & ofc as we know they removed the Ops, Wz & other Passes. Also Now not able to transfer Warzone Comms between Legacy members. Way to go Eaware for bringing Rng looting & doing those things. Rng loot system before giving any actual New Content where new gear would mean something.. *Brainstorm when thinks of it..*

For me as Years long Subber the Cancel for Automatic Renewal happens before December’s Charge Date. Did also feed the Crap Market & EA with buying CC’s few times in 2015. So have given my share of Bling for Swtor’s Eaware crew / Half Blind Greedy EA. After Renewal stops Heading to Eso & Esp. to Star Citizen that i’ve backed so far with 130€. Buying Ships with real Dime is optional as most of them can be acquired via adventures once SC launches. Happy to support great Chris Roberts & Cloud Imperium Games 🙂 Huge WC3, Wing Commander 4 & Freelancer Fan here. Freelancer was golden esp. with Crossfire 1.0 & 2.0 mod <3

But this doesn’t sound good for Uprisings, but it is what I’ve been expecting:
Kill adds, avoid voids, next wave…

When Charles and Ben said “fast peced, action packed…” over and over again (and nothing elese), in the live streams, I had the bad feeling that it will be like that.

Imagine running the first five minutes of a flashpoint, and while the rest of your group skips a load of trash some scrub runs straight down the middle and aggros everything. That’s essentially what Uprisings are. A tiny portion of a FP that takes about 5-10 minutes and involves large numbers of trash, with a boss or two thrown in towards the end. Very easy, very boring. Not even close to FP quality.

So, yes and no. Uprisings are just budget FP’s with no story no loot and no replay value.

Silly Half Baked Uprisings well summed up there.. ^^ Current Swtor Development & new ways of Grabbing Cash with help of one of the biggest Franchises is Sad & So Darn true :/ Outdated Glitchy Game-Engine, Gfx Style that’s from early 2000.. Yaiks 🙁 Have to Congratulate Eaware for how easy it is to lure in some Bling Bling throwing ppl with such Small Effort..

My High School Review score be 6.5/10 for Knights of Eternal Farming Small Dlc that launches 3.12. It would’ve been 8/10 “or more no doubt” if Swtor’s Eaware crew had listened their Supporters Equally already starting from spring 2016. Made by giving E.Championship / One Big Mother Star Fortress as Operation. Not hard to imagine that work what was put into Eternal Championship Pve design to be Converted as Operation a.k.a Raid.

Oh Momma True Mmo Fans would’ve been smiling already in Spring 2016 the time when EW did the “Get Hk-55 Pieces / Items via 6+x months Sub” & that was just to ppl get Silly “Finding Dory” Hk-55 Bonus Chapter. One that had annoying Female Droid Voice.. Since Swtor has Pegi-12 rating i imagine that Eaware hired young Girl to do Voice Over for it..

Tried a random one yesterday, in veteran mode, with a group of capable guildies in our old 220/224 gear. We got Crimson Fang and pretty much sliced through it without any issues.
It wasn’t bad, but also not terribly interesting, and difficulty seems around the level of the easier HM flashpoints like Battle of Ilum. Anyone used to HM raids will breeze through without any gear, without bothering to read tactics.

I don’t dislike SWTOR. It has is pros and cons.

But the main problem is BioWare ignoring their customers (e. g. customizable (armor) companions, RNG gear loot, …) and this game feel more like WoW than Star Wars. I should look like and sound like Star Wars. I don’t want to fight in ancient temples, caves and all of that. And I don’t care if such BS was part of the (now killed) EU. People remember the Star Wars movies, not some poorly written EU stuff, just made to get into people’s wallet.
Just trowing lightsaber into a game doesn’t make it Star Wars, there is more to be done!

If this game felt more like wow it would be a better game lol. Legion has been a great expansion for thy game.

This game is becoming more of a single player or Korean moba game were it’s all about the money you spend on game stores. 9 chapters for 8-12 months of an expansion. No amount of end game will stop people quitting. Especially with the ring loot system shit

I honestly love the lore behind first Kotor. If devs could stop this heroic bs with saving the galaxy and give us a way to play some lore based smuggler missions, or again lore based jedi/sith adventures, that would be great. They dont need to create new planets, quests can be added anywhere.

And some kotor based deep space operations, something generic yet repititve. With real tactics. Where you need to think, not faceroll content. I want to enjoy the story, not the grind (

The advice was to add new quests. Interesting quests. Not to use same content for hallway run.

The main drive for all RPG, MMO or singleplayer, is a good story. I still can play 2-3 times more the original story for all 8 classes, its great, once in 1-2 months can play through SoR, its kinda ok, but KotFE is something too boring, cant do it more than on 4 chars. Havent tried KotET yet, heard that Drew Karpyshyn himself wrote story for it, so it just might be good one, hope so.

I’d love to hear their explanation of why I saw a WoW: Legion trailer play before The Force Awakens when they had just had KotFE drop a few weeks before and shared the damn IP with the movie that was about to play! It is just one of the numerous games showcased here. It is actually a more active section. Despite all the times BW killed the game, there are still people talking here and reading all the posts.

If you think Swtor is dead and you want to move on, then do so and just ignore this section. You don’t go in ESO news and ask dulfy to take it down just because you don’t play it, do you?

For the Observe and Report: Crimson Fang to get to the agent simply find the malfunctioning power coupler on the left upper pipe right as you exit the med center. Click on it to rocket up to the pipe. It may takes a few tries since I kept falling. If you stand between the power coupler and the medcenter it tends to make you fall less often. Than follow the pipe down till you get to the agent and stand directly on top of him.

For the imperial spy in the inferno uprising, just go to the place where he is, and use the rocket thing (with arrows) to the side and go up the climbable things like the ones in battle of ilum to skip trash, then you’ll see that it is just a dead end but the mountain leads up to a rocky ledge, so what we did was we had a sniper roll up that mountain until he got to the ledge, then just keep rolling until you reach the spy

        Actually, that is incorrect.

Many melee dps classes have significant rotational changes. Also, due to the new utility abilities and various nerfs/buffs, tank’s defensive strategies have also changed. Then, there’s the classes that are bugged…some with massive dps boosts and some with absolutely broken abilities(centered around procs). Who knows when that will be addressed. Finally, as Sion related, some ranged classes have some tweaks.

The larger question is if there is anyone left to write the guides.

I’ve been alerting to that fact for a long time now. Most of the people that wrote the Class Guides were raiders. Let’s face it: there’s no real need for having accurate, optimised rotations except if you wanna go raiding. And there’s not much left in this game as far as raiding is concerned.

People jump to conclusions so fast lol. BW publicly stated before KotFE was even released that they were going to spend the next 2 xpacs (KotFE and now KotET) returning to more story driven immersive content (which is what BW is known for). The Xpac after KotET will be back to PvE focus with new FPs/OPs/PvP content. I wish people would do more reading and less blind complaining. Plenty of E3 converge on YT every year and Dev Blogs…..Not sure why so many are confused as to why there is a lack of new PvE and throwing in the towel, after they already told us 2 years ago and last E3 what was going on with it.

There’s NOTHING you can say to contradict that. If you weren’t here to know that… Well, I was. And more than 2 years without an Op, and you say we’re jumping to conclusions??? How am I wrong, when I am going by verbatim what BW themselves stated? lol. So what, a few hardcore players leave/left because of a lack of endgame Raids, after BW publicly stated 2-3x that KotFE and “next xpac” were going back to “A return to single player story driven content”. Every MMO is cyclic, those same players that left, will return in 6.0 once this phase has ended. The 1-2% of the community that hardcore raids, do progression guides etc does not mean everyone is up and leaving. There will be plenty of people to fill the void. Happens all the time, or are you new to MMO’s?

              • Shawn Elliott
                Dec 14, 2016 @ 16:05:00

So what, a few hardcore players left the game. Like any other MMO that’s cyclic. You don’t NEED a guide for a class. It’s not rocket science figuring out an optimal rotation for your spec. It’s called read tooltips, read your passives and go through your skills. Should take no more than 30 mins to nail down a solid rotation and put it into practice. People panic because no one wants to do the work and wants everything handed to them on a silver platter with minimal effort. I only use the guides to cross reference my rotation and make sure I didn’t miss anything.

As far as BW announcing a return to PvE, you are right, they didn’t specifically state it, but only an idiot can’t read between the lines. The immersive story driven content dev phase ends at the end of KotET, so common sense would state they will be returning to more PvE centric content. They hear the complaints, just like they heard the communities complaints of lack of story driven content, hence why they forewent PvE to appease that large chunk of the community. On top of that, specs get a new skill at 74(every 16 levels), so whatever “hardcore” players that left, will no doubt be returning for 6.0 when we see that new passive(s), new utility and new skill on top of the other PvE additions.

To be fair this game was never billed as a endgame progression hardcore-centric game, it’s billed as a story driven experience.

                Dec 15, 2017 @ 07:56:00

That last remark is exactly why a noticeable proportion of gamers feel this game is doing so terribly: MMOs should not be billed as story-driven, especially when: 1. Story-driven Star Wars games have largely been under the class of single-purchase, single player RPGs or shooters, or 2. there’s a more than likely chance in this game you’ll get “Spacebar!” junkies in any convo-heavy group mission.

Once EAware billed this as another story driven Star Wars game, yet had to keep their prices competitive with current MMOs that actually knew their players’ priorities, they had to cut corners in areas that actually merit a subscription charge, which led to their disappointments with projections for launch (which led to the f2p model shift) and will lead to more disappointments beyond now that the brand is taking flak for lootboxes and anti-climactic grinds (notice their shift to direct sale items in the CM?).

Yes, I am voicing my disappointment that the dev teams don’t seem capable of churning out more that 1 story mission or ops boss every half-year anymore, but if you think we should be subbing for the “story”, you’re wasting your own money. We have Wookiepedia for this, and there are plenty of great games with immersive campaigns and replay value that don’t require a re-buy every month.

They’ve taken one filler filler away on Snipers, and Sorcerers are pretty much unchanged. Not sure about dps output though, because obviously I didn’t run them through any difficult material.

But the Passives on Snipers… Omg, these guys are crazy! Haven’t taken them out on a raid, but the new passives are awesome! People that play Snipers/Slingers: get out there and show how’s boss! Because I’m not sure this is going to last hehehehehe…

They didn’t really take anything away. They removed ranged abilities from melee classes and vice versa. What skills X class lost, was replaced with a ranged/melee version of it. i.e Vanguards lost Mortar Volley, but gained Artillery Blitz(?) in it’s place. Does pretty much same thing, with the same amount of damage.

IDK about Plasmatech, but Tactics Vanguard now has Grapple to use as higher priority over Hammer Shot and Pyro Grenade as a free filler with the Legendary utility that gives Grapple a damaging component and boosts Stockstrike’s damage. If the Devs change the damage numbers on Flak Shell then it would have higher priority than Tactical Surge, but still lower than Stockstrike and AP. Flak Shell is higher than Tactical Surge if there are at least 2 Targets instead of the normal 3 targets for AoE vs. Single Target. Flak Shell has higher priority than Explosive Surge with or without the 25% damage boost talent for AoE. As for Artillery Blitz, it would be AoE priority 2 coming after Flak Shell. Ion Wave or whatever Pulse Cannon was renamed too is bad. Explosive Surge is better and has no CD, so you don’t need it on your bar unless your tanking or playing Plasmatech.

I consider myself best versed in Tactics, so I can’t say too much about the other specs in the game, but I can only imagine there minimal changes like that, so I don’t really think we need guides for the full community. New players can check out the 4.0 guides or ask other players within their guild and they’ll be good to go! 🙂

        https://youtu.be/5XV5seDZ9mo

If you try from the half stop or 3/4 it just won’t help. On the other hand starting from a lower position you can get it done in one go with virtually no effort (or you have to luck out to follow the right path?).

The video makes it look super easy but really it was after 1 hour of countless attempts, right when I was about to ragequit. Good luck!

Because we really liked/loved the game once, until we ran through all the content, often on multiple alts, and have seen how the updates get more and more shallow. Which means that we either repeat content that we’ve already done far too many times, or burn through stories with little replay value and then wait for the next update. We’ve also seen how much of the content we liked to play only get barely any attention, if any (PvP, FP, OPS, SF). Lots of the things that hooked us initially simply isn’t there anymore. For example, this game was heaven for altoholics, playing the base game with multiple characters was a blast, but now most of them are just sitting around. So we check updates to see if it’s worth coming back, and we end up going “meh”…

And those of us who’ve played other MMO’s and therefore have something to compare with can see that the updates/expansions are indeed less than she should expect. Let’s not even get into the CM which is getting more and more ridiculous all the time.

And… just because you don’t enjoy the content doesn’t mean everyone else doesn’t….. That goes both ways. Many of us have been here since launch, many of us have played all the content multiple times on alts, and many of us are still enjoying the game regardless. Any MMO is a grindfest, and honestly games such as WOW, FFXIV, or haven’t come remotely close to the story and voice acting swtor has, even when it’s at it’s worst. I’ve seen the doomsayers repeatedly claim the game was dying since year one, yet here we are, 5 years later. But yeah, it’s even more amusing that anyone that jaded would bother commenting at all. It’s almost like they can’t stay away. If you truly had lost interest in this when the content got stale, a la a year or two ago, why bitch now??……. If you truly know anything about the game at this point, or have kept up at all, you knew the direction they were taking it. So what’s the point in bitching? It’s not like it’s going to change anything. Seems more like we have a bunch of internet warriors attempting to make the people that enjoy the game feel bad for it by shit posting. You’re responses have been reasonably measured, but what started this discussion was basically a troll post. So if you’re coming back to a forum related to a game you know you won’t like, and are going out of your way to shit post about it even though you don’t play it, at that point, don’t you have to ask yourself, are you really that pathetic? 🙂

If as you say, you can’t enjoy the game because others complain about it…. you must be very insecure. Not sure you can call others pathetic.

The fact that other shitty MMOs are a grindfest, is not an excuse for SWTOR, and neither should it be. SWTOR is a STAR WARS game, therefore it will always be judged and criticized if it doesn’t deliver accordinf to the extremely high expectations that we have from this game.

I have been lucky enough to see and play games like Jedi Knight I and II, Jedi Academy, KOTOR 1 and 2, Battlefront 1 and 2, all of them in the 2000s. When SWTOR was announced, everyone lost their shit. And when it was released, despite its faults, it was a actually on par with the above mentioned games, when it comes to gameplay and story. It was one of these games that could make you forget about everything else while you play.

Well it’s not like that anymore, whether you like it or not. Every single update in the last 2 years has shifted this game to a single player cartel market gambling grinding repeating boring experience. Is there stuff to do? Yes, a shitload. Is is the same it has been in the last few years? Yes, unfortunately.

So take your white knight attitude and go to the official forums to make the SWTOR team feel good about themselves, even though they know deep inside that they have failed us for the last time.

Never said we “can’t” enjoy it, just that some people seem to want to go out of their way to attempt to make us feel that way. Quite a bit difference there. I also find it funny that you go on to list a litany of games that aren’t MMO’s….. Again, just sounds like bitching for the sake of bitching on a forum related to a game you “claim” to no longer care about. 🙂

You must have a very high opinion of yourself, if you think that people who complain about the current status of the game care that much about what you think and how much you enjoy this game. Not sure how you came up with the conclusion that people go “out of their way” to complain. If anything, you can always not visit dulfy.com you know. It’s YOUR choice to read the comments and reply to them.

When did I ever claim I no longer care about the game? The reason why I am very judgmental of Bioware is because I DO CARE about the game actually. I want the game to be good, so that I can enjoy it. But the game is currently HORRIBLE. So I am sorry if you don’t like reading the truth but I don’t think we’re going to stop anytime soon.

If anyone likes the game in its current state then I really don’t care or bother to respond since I got nothing to add.

When people defend the game while telling people who criticise the game in fairly measured terms that they’re wrong, that’s when I bother to reply as it was in this case.

And the reason we complain is that despite the decreased quality of the game, we still care about and want it to be good again.

Plus, from a company standpoint, you don’t care that much customers who are happy since it means you keep on doing what they like. The customers who complain (ignoring the trolls and the worst meatheads) are the interesting ones since you can usually find feedback from them on how to improve your product in order to attract more costumers. And more costumers = more money. It’s the same for any company and BW/EA is no exception, especially since the game is long term and contains subscriptions.

And that original comment I made about his opinion being “wrong” was actually a joke. Hence the ” 🙂 “. Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion. What I find interesting is the haters that just do it for the sake of it. The ones that don’t even play anymore. I mean, to be motivated to hang out on a forum related to a game you claim you no longer care about, just to get your kicks bitching about it in a chat section. You would think you could find something better to do with your time. But again, feel free to pick over the carcass of a dead horse that’s been beaten for so long it’s comical at this point.

Well that’s why I didn’t insult you and went with long winded answers to explain my point of view instead 🙂

Some of us who don’t play currently might be inclined to do so if the game shows signs of improvement, so we check this site from time to time, and then we read the comments and get stuck (it’s fun to argue or just talk crap with some regulars here who are pretty nice people)…

It’s a SW game, which also means it’s a space MMO, there aren’t too many of those around (unlike fantasy MMO’s, which by my estimates, there are a crapton of). So I sort of want this game to get its shit together since there aren’t really any other interesting options for space MMO’s.

And haters/white knights are the toxic foundation that all gaming forums are build upon nowadays, it’s like the jedi and sith, only far far far more sad…. 😀

Because not all hate the game. White nuts such as yourself are not the only ones, we just don’t go around sucking BW dick every time they open their fly to piss on the player. You can like something that was great and now sucks, hoping that things will improve. Last time I checked wasn’t a law against the universe. Us “clowns” have written to BW, EA, Eric, etc for the last few YEARS trying to get them to improve the state of game, to fix basic bugs they have ignored in order to pump more CM dreck out. Those of us not subbed come here as you cannot post on the official forums unless you do. Then if you post something that the devs think doesn’t praise them enough they either delete your post or hit you with the ban hammer.

Properly worded, no cursing, bashing, naming them the idiots they are. Post was removed as were several others written that afternoon criticizing his empty speech. That is but one example. Believe what you like. I know how to speak to companies when in direct communication with them. This is one place I am sure I will get facts, not just some white nut version of what is going on with the game. Dulfy has been rock solid in that respect and many of those that dropped their sub come here for the same. I don’t care if people like the game, in fact that’s great. Help push the devs to keep promises made, to fix the horrid amount of bugs still in game and to kindly get a clue about what they are doing to their player base. Because aside from the few BW defenders like yourself most I see are pissed off about this. Most of those that are posting they are pissed off have tried to go through the official lines to get the devs to listen and have been ignored so yeah, they have reason to be pissed about this. It is the ONLY Star Wars so called MMO, the only other Star Wars game out there is Battlefront. They can and have done better than the current effort.

I mean, of every single companion, he’s by far the most intriguing one in regards to the story. Not having him voiced in Revan makes it even worse. He wasn’t on my top 10 of favourite comps in core game, but his presence alone would’ve made me far more likely to play these stories.

This is the very first toon I ever made in this game. Pictured here with Scourge in my own little private Jedi Council on Coruscant hehehehe…

Aside from Vette, I think Scourge is my favourite companion. I COULD NOT believe how BW missed a chance to having him play a role in these expansions. I mean, the guy was Emperor’s Wrath for centuries! Yes, I know the drill: everybody has his/hers personal favourites, bla, bla, bla… But this is different. This guy was in actual contact with Vitiate/Valkorion! He could be an explanation for how Vitiate was “absent” while building up Zakuul…

Talk about missed chances. right? Oh but well… I got to Odessen and finally used the terminal. Thanks a lot BW… For nothing lol…

Yeah, in Revan he could’ve given the JK a ton of backstory.

In KotFE, he could’ve joined from the start, had interactions with Vitiate, had a hardline stance agains him. And given a crapton of backstory for a lot of stuff. It’s indeed a missed opportunity.

And as for favourites, all Inq comps, lokin, mako, kalyio, vette, guss & kira are ones I consider on par or more fun than Scourge, but he’s still awesome. Also thinks he hates you for dressing him in jedi clothing 😉

Might as well never pay a gamble on a hopeful update ever again. Ever since the GC system the game has been lackluster story content and an endgame gearing system where they force you to sub every month or your grinding for the “chance” of gear progress stops dead, they did that to some extent pre-GC too but at least there was a clear, yet healthily challenging goal: slowly but surely collecting the gear to knockout NIM/Master Ops. With GC the goal is far more murky, and these days we can’t tell if the next update is more test-of-skill or more cash-shop.

I can explain uprisings very easily.

Mini-boss fights in a small instance with more adds and trash packs then you will care for. Almost as if bw just copied and pasted adds and trash because why not. Thats easy to do.

I hate the game’s direction as much as you, but I can’t agree with what you’re saying ’cause I can’t understand a word other than you’re not satisfied with TOR. Either he’s a foreigner who stinks at syntax in his second language, or Chris Roberts made comment bots who are slightly malfunctioning.

I like the 5.0 update. I come back and play every once and while to see how the game is shaping up. I still miss star wars galaxies. I loved that game. Its just my opinion. There are many people who like the game, though the people with grievances are more likely to post then people who are happy; that is an interesting social fact, “For every customer who bothers to complain, 26 other customers remain silent,” White House Office of Consumer Affairs. Its a video game, to me, I don’t get very upset about it, it might be because I have more important things to worry about in life. If you have something negative or mean to say about this reasonable statement, don’t worry, I won’t respond.

In crimson fang this 2 droids is nightmare, maybe because we was without tank. Is there some secret tactic or advice? Maybe its bug and their damage is too strong? I found that they sometimes almost 1 shot group members…

Twomanned this with a guildie, it was easily the hardest fight (1 wipe) we ended up just making sure that both droids where not agroed on the same target, and used DC’s as needed. (lvl50 comp and a lvl46comp for the heals) Once we had the damage split it was just killing the adds off as they came and then focusing the proper droid, was a cake walk on our second run.

Damage output on them just insane and they shoot event through boxes and walls. Maybe they need to change numbers a bit or need tank. But again you can form uprising with 4 dps. And this healing stations only 1 use for fight. Maybe they need to change them to flashpoint like kolto stations.

I thought about it too and even try, dont remember it helped much. Later with tank was easier, funny part most veteran uprisings easier then story mode. Maybe its bug or they confuse them…

Tactic for Done and Dusted Veteran mode, the G9-RX fight. We LOSed both bosses behind the large crate in the middle of the area and stacked them so we could aoe them down (focusing on G9). While in this position the adds will not engage. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/19edab00cfb9643898d827970b3ee54ef9975c1c2b73863feff0f58c08ba11b4.png

Also if you do wipe and want the little animal companions to help you again you have to go back to the top of the hill to refresh your special item.

After a week of trying to grind Uprisings….

    1. If your group has a healer all of them are ridiculously easy in Story Mode. Some of them are very challenging without a healer in the group, since the kolto stations do NOT respawn. That was extremely smart Bioware, boss fights that last a few minutes, without any way to heal at all. Most groups with 4 dps will wipe a couple of times, and some will rage quit, even in Story Mode.

    2. Veteran Mode is also very easy since they obviously have the standard setup of 2D, 1H, 1T, provided that people actually know how to play their class.

    3. They are fun the first time you play them. Again, the main problem of endgame content is zero replay value, like what happened with Star Fortresses.

    4. I have reached the conclusion that Uprisings were designed by Leroy Jenkins, there is no other explanation.

I feel like this doesn’t need to be said, but evidence seems to be to the contrary so:

IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE CLEARING CONTENT AND ONE PERSON LEAVES, DO NOT INSTANTLY GIVE UP AND LEAVE AS WELL.

Flop out a companion, set them to healing, and you can easily faceroll your way through to victory.

Again, didn’t think this needed to be stated since it’s been a viable tactic since…well since release, but here we are.

In the Inferno uprising if you die during the last boss (the two sith on the platforms) and you happen to have a force leap type of ability (I’ve only done this on a sentinel), you can respawn and move to the platform you and the group landed on after leaping across the gap (to the right if facing the bosses) and position yourself on the far right part of said platform. After doing this wait for one of the Imperial soldier adds to spawn during the fight closest to you, you can then get around the invisible wall and get back into the fight with force leap.

Fractured and Firefrost (Story) are fairly easy to solo as long as you pay attention, use the extra power-up weapon thingies (the AE firebomb makes those stupid mixed standard and strong trash adds go a lot quicker), don’t mind a death/extra attempt on occasion, and obey mechanics exactly. (Haven’t tried any of the others yet)

I main Merc, Arsenal, with a rank 50 healing companion, mostly last tier’s 216 raid-gear with 4/6 set bonus, and a few of the new 230s with most last-tier augs.

For Frac, try to save the big flame bombs for when you’re fighting all those Strong adds that both final bosses summon, and LoS (using the posts) the Agent-analogue’s Snipes and/or Terminates as much as possible. Have your DCDs and any relevant defense-orientated skill-points ready though, as you will be eating a few regardless.

For Fire, kill the turrets ASAP, and AE the fuck out of those stupid little weak droids that rep the walker up.

I wanna try the Port Nowhere one next, it’s been far too long since I been there. (Another great zone that they could have done so much with, but that we could never see again in the fine hilariously short-sighted FuckwitWare tradition…)

In Veteran “Done and Dusted” is there a trick to the first boss’ DoT? It seems you can’t cleanse it so I guess it is a healer check? If that’s the case, Master mode will be a killer.

“Crack-Shot” Agge is nearly impossible, espeically on a melee character. Sometimes there’s just nowhere to hide from her sniper shot. Also, after you get shot, she’ll throw a cryo grenade so you can’t run from her fire bomb. I’ve fought ops bosses less challenging than her, and that is just wrong.

    This is Storymode, btw…

I’ve had almost zero problems with her but I’m ranged DPS. At some point she stays in one place and focuses on my healer comp (lvl 50, he heals himself) while I finish her slowly. On the other hand, the walker is impossible for me since I can’t kill the repair droids fast enough.

Has anyone figured out how to do “Observe and Report: Inferno”? My Sorcerer can’t get higher than the spot Dulfy is at in the pic. The only video I’ve been able to find has someone using Rocket Boost. I wasted half an hour today trying to get up the ledge with Rocket Boost without any luck.

Any ideas that don’t involve class-specific abilities?

Dulfy’s pic shows the WRONG way to do it. I also was getting frustrated but theres another comment right above this one that describes it better – “Go to the boss platform and head back towards the medical droid. Facing that droid run up the left side of the metal building, jump onto the cliff when you can. Just follow the cliff around to the agent and you’re all set.”
So basically dulfy isnt at the right spot.

I don’t know the exact time, felt like about 4-5 minutes, but Takkan Rusco (Boss 2, Crimson Fang) has an Enrage Timer. It’s a semi weak one, 150% more damage, but combine that with the soft enrage from constant add spawning makes his Mortar Volley’s pretty deadly.
