  • Jonathan Parker

That Royalty armor looks really nice, except for the hat. Lightly armored, really nice colors, butt cape. I think I just found my Assassin an outfit.

    • Darth Ji’inx

The Twi’lek Hadiya seems to be the inspiration for the “Shikaakwan Royalty” set.

      • Jonathan Parker

Now that I take a longer look at it, it the hat does seem to be a perfect fit for Twi’leks. A bit weird for my taste, but I rarely use helmets or hats unless it’s on my Trooper and Hunter.

        • Darth Ji’inx

I’m wondering if it will actually work since the pieces meant to surround the base of the lekku appear to be jutting almost straight out to the side in the picture.

  • Morthy

Seems like Shikaakwan Royalty’s headgear is made for twi’leks.

    • Darth Ji’inx

      Lookup “Hadiya” on Wookieepedia 😉

  • I’m surprised to say these all actually look pretty awesome.

  • Darth Ji’inx

Interesting pack. Noteworthy items I’m excited about:

The “Shikaakwan Royalty” is a nice royal armor (even if the helm gives me a pirate vibe). It’s nice to have another cosmetic Iokath armor. “Diligent Engineer” reminds me of Gault’s “Triumphant Predator” set. It might make a nice post-KotFE/ET look for him.

More non-lightsaber melee weapons for Collections. More golden(?) weapons.

Pretty new/unique creature companion from the new flashpoint.

Speculation: Could we be visiting Shikaakwa and dealing with its Twi’leks post-Umbara?
(Note: Lookup “Hadiya” on Wookieepedia to learn more about Shikaakwa and the likely inspiration for the “Shikaakwan Royalty” set.)

    • Darth Twinge

Oh, that’s interesting. Twilek’s could use a good headpiece. 😀

      • Darth Ji’inx

Agreed. Unfortunately, it looks like the part that would surround the base of the lekku is sticking out to the side instead of being angled back. We’ll have to wait until we can preview it ingame to know if it will truly work.

    • Acher4

      Good catch with the lore.
I wonder what they will do also. It seems weird to create this armour just for the sake of creating it. Maybe we will see more of their planet then? Hmmmm. I really like the idea of exploring more (unknwon) planets from the Star wars universe.

  • Jep Fareborn

Are you kidding me? This stuff (currently) looks like absolute shit! Would never buy or wear those armor sets. Choo-choo stronghold looks like a monorail straight outta Disney World or something ‘Lyle Lanley’ would shyster you into buying.

  • Harston

    Great Pack!
I’m not a fan of everything, but I’m really liking it!

  • Djangus Roundstone

some of this stuff looks sorta okay, but those vibroblades are kinda gross looking. Why is there a gun magazine coming out of the hilt? Like it’s the same magazine model as the other guns on here, they just threw it onto the swords for whatever reason.

    • Marrks

      because of recycling and lazyness

  • CrumpetTrumpet

    “Indigo Fog”

That sounds like a tasty soft drink but I’m just imagining a purple variant of the light and dark tunings.

    • Darth Ji’inx

I was thinking it might be more like the “Rakghoul Infection” tuning since it has a mist effect.

      • Guest

I’m thinking it’s like that deco Ancient Entity or what ever it’s called from Yavin that’s just a purple blobby/light/mist. I’m thinking it may look great with my purple themed, Ziost saber wielding Sorc.

    • Mark Saunders

can just imagine ordering that a bar, “2 beers, an indigo fog and a slippery nipple..”

  • Harston

There’s another Armor set coming with the patch named the ‘Umbaran Guardian’s Set’, It doesn’t come in a crate so logically, you’ll most likely be able to get it from running the new flashpoint and spending currency. (Which looks to be called ‘Alliance Research Data’)
No word on what it looks like.

Also! Remember! Lana’s, Koth’s and Senya’s hairstyles arrive in this pack too!

    • Darth Ji’inx

You’re right about the “Umbaran Guardian” set and “Alliance Research Data”. There are also a bunch of Umbaran plant decos that don’t appear to be CM related, meaning they’re most likely from the same vendor. Oddly enough, the description of “Alliance Research Data” claims that the vendor is on Odessen instead of Umbara.

Note: Cosmetic options have never been pack items; they’re always direct sale on the CM. Therefore, “Appearance Options: Galactic Hero Hairstyles” will probably go on sale separately from the new pack.

      • Harston

Right you are, should’ve said ‘with this pack’ instead. x3
And aye… Puzzling to hear it’s on Odessen, perhaps Umbara won’t be the first ‘One-off Flashpoint’ planet that we’ll visit and earn this ‘Alliance research data’ at.

        • Darth Ji’inx

Interesting idea. Maybe we’ll visit Shikaakwa next in a flashpoint if the contents of this pack are any indication…

        • Darth Ji’inx

Update: Looks like the NPC that grants the flashpoint itself is also on Odessen. I guess this means that we’re not actually visiting an Umbara hub; rather, we’re just entering the flashpoint via Odessen. Now the vendor being on Odessen makes sense.

          • Harston

Interesting, the one-off flashpoint planets are seeming more and more feasible now…

    • Jep Fareborn

Yeah, you forget to mention the companion customizations change their facial appearance along with it.

  • ZestyM8

Still very lame pieces. Nothing really that great.
Let’s hope the mounts are complete trash and then this pack might be alright but so far very meh.

Those guns look like hideous bastardizations of WW2 guns.

    • Harston

      Yep, they’re great. xD

    • Simon Cleal

Just like the guns in the original film!

  • PenusBob

“This game is so awesome, i love spending my cold hard earned cash on cosmetic items to make my character look fabulous. I bet other people look at my toon and say to themselves, that is one good looking toon, let me just go and buy packs so that one day i can look like that too.” {Like I give a shit what complete fucking strangers think of my virtual character}.

    • Zeus Fagervold

Believe it or not, people actually do that. And they don’t just say it to themselves.

      • Elrandil

My toons are the best looking toons in the game. No one else has as toon that looks remotely close to my great toons. I’m also not subscribed for almost 6 months now and no new packs have convinced me to resume my subscription yet. Maybe I will subscribe when they let me play in the exact Valkorion amor or let me use Valkorion abilities from lvl 1 or something of that sort. Revan reborn greaves are awesome 🙂

        • Ben Gimson

“My toons are the best looking toons in the game”
          “Revan reborn greaves are awesome”

The latter statement contradicts the former XD

          • Darth Siox

Can’t tell if he is trolling or genually thinks he’s the best dressed character of all time.

            • anoneemoose

The flaps on the Tulak Hord piece literally clips into his choice of leg armor for that first set.

        • Jay Asher

You may wanna come to harbringer then you may be disapointed. Or check out my Aria or Reazen Toons on Tor-Fashion. Pretty sure I got you beat on best looking. One of the only reason i play the game. And this is just one of her 14 slots. My collection is full except for crap and the revan reborn greaves or skirt yes is good looking on SOME costumes other its horrible. And looks retarded. And really the only redeeming factor of the revan reborn set the rest is god aweful ugly. but even then I only wear revan reborn skirt with exterminator/eradicator whatever the robe one is or for my “training suit”.

Just saying you’re not the only one that demands to be the most pimpin looking player on a server. Each one of my outfits is worth hundreds of millions not to mention the CC unlocks for all toons.

          • HMH

worth hundreds of millions of what? I hope you dont mean credits

        • Jay Asher

ntm looks mean lil when you can become one with the force in pure energy. Super Sayian Sith level 3 https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c8a4a08c868f701e29c5de21144d21660400d73d0342fe3b6618049b360f6d53.jpg

      • Guest

Yup, I’ve had people whisper me and ask what gear I’m wearing. I’ve even stolen other people’s ideas.

        • Jay Asher

I’ve had 5 people try to steal the look of my toon down to the exact tatoo’s/bodyshape/head and all trying to copy this outfit. Unfortunately none of them are rich enough to get past the tulak horde chest and then they put crap on the rest. Not to mention most dont have the cred for black/black dye. But I’ve seen 5 people trying to copy my toon and even 2 on tor-fashion trying to pass off their knock offs as original idea’s.

          • James

Tulak Horde is an aweful set. Your set does not match at all.

This set is the best in game.

          • Ben Gimson

Pretty sure they’re not copying you. Seen plenty of people sporting almost exactly the same look on Prog and TRE.

          • Guest

Yeah, because no one else could possibly come up with the same idea. Tell us more about how much money you have!

      • Shawn Hargrave

And they stand on the fleet doing nothing for 5 minutes then log out lolz

    • Darth Ji’inx

Or…maybe you could just customize your character the way YOU want it to look. After all, being a badass is even more satisfying when you look great as well. 😉

      • Thundertrain

Yup. This right here. It’s wonderful that you can slaughter mobs by the hundreds…but it means so much more if you look like you didn’t get dressed in the dark before doing so.

  • Ann Nonymous

Ugly pack unless you share Trump’s taste for gold plated things. Besides, I don’t get the craze for weapon tunings…it is a purely cosmetic thing that anyone will barely notice anyway. Bought one from the gtn out of curiosity and I barely notice it on my own toon…

    • Zeus Fagervold

Simply don’t buy them then and let the rest og us enjoy the little cosmetic things.

      • Guest

What? How dare you bring logic into the this! Don’t you know if someone says an item sucks we all have to hate it?!

  • Kirill Zhmurenko

These guy sdefinitely need more inspiration on armors. They look really ugly and don’t posess any StarWars image in them. Yet weapons are cool, but anyway, the overall quality of packs is disappointing.

    • Mark Saunders

Agreed and disagreed. ….sorry, was I looking at Toys-r-us latest pack ‘cos those guns look like kid’s toys. I was praising them a few packs back but lately they’ve gone backwards…. Electroblades look the best of a weak bunch. I will praise the creativity, seems like they were trying to do something different. I agree on armor, same old complaints – oversized gloves, buckles, helmets. There is a reason armies no longer fight in heavy shining armour.. it’s impractical. Why design it for SW? Iokath armor just looks daft.

  • Sick of mindless whiners

The Shikaakwan chestpiece is great! Nice gear – looking forward to the train and new content too.

  • Friendly Neighbourhood Carnage

A creature called banshee? I wonder if it will have some kind of ranged sonic cry ability.

    • Djangus Roundstone

they’re in the clone wars show and they didn’t have that ability

  • Matias Javier Fabressi

    Great Pack.

  • Ramzzess

  • Disqus this

Another pack I don’t have to worry about considering.
    That pack looks terrible.

  • Kubrickian

  • Acher4

    Interesting pack.
I like how most have connection to the new planet.
Good armors, nice looking Electroblade and it’s good to see some new types of weapons.
I want to see the new tuning in action 😀

  • Kaelin

I can`t tell I`m happy with armors and weapons this time, may be some of armors will look ok on my toon.
I like new companion, weapon tuning and colour crystal look promising.
Who knows, may be I will like new mounts, pets and decorations.

Anf I`m always happy to see new strongholds.

  • Mark Saunders

Hoping they put in a solid amount of deco’s.

  • AbnerDoon

Some of these weapons looks pretty good. While I’m not a fan of this SH maybe this will appease another part of the player base. Enjoying 3 of the 6 SH’s is a pretty good ratio.

I think I’m going to let me sub lapse and wait for the current story to end. This round of the sub cycle shall go to GW2. Maybe I’ll see the pack items in game and won’t be able to help myself. But reading spoilers and this story just doesn’t do anything for me at this time.

  • Edward

More ugly cosmetics… How about making crafting fun for once?

    • Guest

So that you can craft “ugly cosmetics”?

    • DerpDude

There have been some ideas swirling around about crafting customization etc. but I highly doubt it’s going to be a thing as it doesn’t line up the pockets of EA.

      • Rompe Himself

Oh come on, BW gave up on crafting a long time ago. It was around SOR that the writing was on the wall about crafting.

  • Ben Gimson

Shikaakwan is a pretty obscure reference for them to market -_o

    • Darth Ji’inx

Well, Shikaakwa was a big deal around the time of the Je’daii Order, which has already been mentioned in the game. Also, it could be a potential hint for the next story?

      • Ben Gimson

Eh, I really, really hope not. Hundreds of far more interesting places for the story to take us. Kashyyyk is pretty heavily requested. I’d much rather go there personally.

        • Jay Asher

kashyyk would be cool, mandalore or concord dawn would be nice also. Mustafar would be amazing if they put some platforming mechanics in

          • Anonymus66

Vader’s castle was located on Vjun (at least before “disney wars”). maybe i’m worng but I think in the Rouge One the castle was on Vjun too.
Kashyyk would be really nice imo too, a mando planet, or maybe a new area of Tython to explore the ancient je’daii temples (the tho jor ships or other ruins of the planet -> sweet dreas for my healer sage to visit mahara kesh someday but will never happen because of game mechanics, and would be hard to give an acceptable explanation why the imps appeared on Tython^^) Mon Calamar would be a nice place too (add some underwater stuff with swimming)

but i stop whining here…….could write some other places even with some “fan made” stories to be fit in swtor but sadly is not upon me

            • marr.vikingr

it would be easy to explain the imps dont get to go there and we get an expansion that is faction dependent for once. I am tired of everything being shared between the two factions.

        • Darth Ji’inx

Wookiees vs Hutta/Alderaan hybrid… I would honestly prefer the latter.

  • Jay Asher

Eh the Banshee Comp and like 2-3 pieces of the royalty armor looks like the only things worth wild unless this new tuning is something freaking amazing.

  • Jay Asher

I just wish bioware would put out the darksaber already. That way I can have my mando with a more canon saber… And since my toon is house visla it works out perfect story wise lol

    • Harston

Honestly, Rebels ruined the Darksaber for me.
First, It was a relic stolen from the Jedi by the Mandalorians and held by a warrior from Clan Visla that passed it down his line. That makes sense! Mandalorians are a warrior society, they pillage, take trophies, no problem.

Then Disney made it into a symbol of power for the mandalorians, something that must always be carried by the mandalore, forged by mandalorians for mandalorians. I guess they forgot about Beskad. Mandalorians are a practical bunch, they’re not going to want a Darksaber because it ‘looks cooler’, Beskad works, they’ll use that.

Long and short, I think the Darksaber is dumb now. I suppose I’m not really being all that constructive, just prompted me to start thinking about it.

      • jaydog

IDk. I actually like the idea that a Mandalorian was inducted into the Jedi Order and forged their own unique lightsaber that fit their culture (throw back to the Legends Jedi Knight Tenel Ka whose blade was made from a rancor’s tooth, she was also a warrior culture).

And this Particular Mandalorian was a Viszla, and the VIszlas toook it back, which is also another throw back to the Legends of Mandalorians keeping pieces of the fallen ones gear so it could always be a part of them.

        I like it.

      • HMH

If by Disney you mean the exact same team from Lucasfilm that made Clone Wars and invented the Darksaber I guess you’re right…

That sure is a weird way to define Disney though.

        • Harston

The TCW team and Disney had different origins for the Darksaber.

          • HMH

Rebels and TCW are made by the same team. You guys just like to irrationally blame Disney for story bits you don’t like.

            • Harston

They’re the same team but Disney makes the call on what they can create / how they can apply lore / create lore. The revamp of the Darksaber exists for Sabine’s benefit to make her seem more ‘mandalorian’.

              • HMH

Dave Folini, a Lucasfilm employee and show runner of both shows, is responsible for both versions, blaming Disney is no different than blaming Pepsi Co that your coffee was made wrong at Starbucks. Good luck with your wild accusations though, they make you look super informed and I’m sure will work toward molding the Star Wars universe to your personal tastes.

              • Harston

Well… You sure are condescending, welcome to the Ignore list.
( You do realize Lucasfilm is owned and dictated by Disney? )

              • HMH

No big loss if I make your Ignore list even though your grade school view of how the largest corporations on earth operate is cute.

            • Harston

Disney dictates the lore and forcibly removed everything that was pre-established. I think it’s reasonable to hold them accountable for changes.

    • Guest

How does you “mando” use a saber? And don’t give me that crap that your Jedi is a “mando”. Are you in one of those “mando” RP clans that take anyone other then sorcs as long as you dress correctly?

  • Wayshuba

Why even have a game anymore? It is so much easier making money (and requires so much less work) to just allow people to do this:

    • Paulo Gomes

I think it speaks volumes about the game how a post about cosmetics has more comments than all the class changes posts in the http://dulfy.net/category/swtor/ page COMBINED…

      • Darth Ji’inx

Not necessarily the game, but more about players’ interests.

        • Paulo Gomes

Yep, I agree. Seems people are far more interested in looking cool than in discussing class changes. Sign of the times I guess…

          • Darth Ji’inx

Personally, I don’t really care that much about class changes unless I notice a huge difference in playability.

Note: I don’t currently do operations or PvP.

          • Rompe Himself

That’s because almost all the serious players left this game a while back. All that is left are people happy to spend their sub money on new & woefully small content and buying new monthly cartel packs

I mean when a B2P game like GW2 is releasing an expansion over a game like SWTOR, you know Bioware and by extension SWTOR, are dead in the water.

It seems that Bioware has decided that those fanbois left in SWTOR and the Cartel Whales of course, are the ones they will please by releasing embarrassingly small new content but constantly putting new shit on the Cartel Market rather in then in game to earn……………you know, like a real MMO should do. Bioware has figured out that those left are easily satisfied with this combo so it suits them as they now don’t need to put in any effort while still making a profit to keep the game alive. Minimal Effort, Maximum reward thanks to these peeps.

            • Paulo Gomes

And I was one of those players. And even when I did maintain my sub I had already boycotted the Cartel Market.

Don’t get me wrong. I like looking cool as much as the next guy. But at the expense of actually having a cool game? I started raiding on self made gear. Did I have a killer look back then? No sirree. But I had so much FUN back in the day…

        • Fred Garvin

Player interest is being partly driven by the game’s direction which is vastly towards cosmetic cash items.

          • John Kosto

Yeap, the company itself has shifted the interest of players towards the Cartel Market, rather than the content, because… what content?

    • Darth Ji’inx

Aesthetics play an important role in MMOs.

      • Wayshuba

I agree – but it is secondary to game play and content creation. No sense looking good if there is no one around to see you.

In SWTOR’s case. They are reliable with pumping out stuff for paper dolls but can’t seem to produce a reliable amount of decent content for the $180/year people pay.

        • Darth Ji’inx

While the pacing/amount of content they release at a time can be lacking, it sounds like the issue is the dev/story team. Even if the CM Team didn’t pump out a pack every month, I doubt actual content would suddenly improve. However, it might get even worse as a result of less revenue from CM sales. Overall, I think the CM is actually benefiting the game (more revenue/more character aesthetic choices), while other issues (staffing/content creativity/EA) may be the underlying problem.

          • AbnerDoon

Hopefully the current story arc will be finished by the end of the year. They’ve spread it out over two years now it’s time to change the pace to something new and less ridiculous.

            • Darth Ji’inx

It looks like Umbara might be setting up our next enemy, based on the datamined dialogue from the final cutscene after the new flashpoint.

              • AbnerDoon

I really hope so this is silly. You were good then you became bad etc, etc… Just take it out back and put it down. Take us back to our roots no alliance that you can’t do anything with anyhow. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8c5eb40a268989b38708de86045f4b401aae10d823f394d758ddf9961ef2af23.gif

              • Darth Ji’inx

I actually like the current storyline, but I don’t like how it feels for non-Force users and the lack of extremely meaningful choices.

              • AbnerDoon

Fair enough. 😀 My mains were op, sniper, merc, scoundrel and commando. When I finally took my sage part way through it made a little more sense but not perfect.

          • Ben Gimson

“Even if the CM Team didn’t pump out a pack every month, I doubt actual content would suddenly improve”

Sure it would, because then those items could go elsewhere and we could actually get items from playing the game instead of having to gamble for everything new. We were assured that we’d be able to earn tunings in game but that never happened. It’s laughable, at this point.

            • Darth Ji’inx

But would all of those items even be made if there wasn’t a cash shop for them in the first place? Since the CM has its own team making them, I doubt it.

              • Ben Gimson

Sure they would. Once upon a time that was how games worked. You played the game and earned gear by doing quests. EAware have just decided to get rid of that and sell you quest rewards instead.

  • Darth Siox

Looks like BW are still inspired by the ‘Zakhuul theme’ in these armour sets.

    • Darth Ji’inx

The “Shikaakwan Royalty” set is inspired by Hadiya, a Twi’lek gangster/queen from the time of the Je’daii and the Rakata.

      • Djangus Roundstone

I feel like they need to relax with all the gold themed armor, we have enough at this point

  • Craft Beer Brewer

More gold and brown shit. only like 10% of dyes go with that crap and the other 90% clash.

  • Deshik

that loosen up regen could be fun

  • King_Prickar d

that iokath armor set will be mine

  • John Kosto

Interested in zero items. Not surprised though. Waiting for the mounts, mounts are always good to have many of.

    • Лев Сафаров

      What about regeneration item?

      • John Kosto

Nope, couldn’t care less for most of them.

        • Лев Сафаров

  • LucasFaun

i like the guns tho. even if i stopped playing i still come back and look at the stuff the trying to sell.

  • Twoandahalfcents

    So that’s the new stronghold?

Hmm, reminds me a bit of Denliner. Be neat if you could mount cannons on it.

    • Darth Ji’inx

It has centerpiece hooks on the roofs of the cars. 😉

      • Rompe Himself

HA!!!! That will be funny when you put a statue of Revan or one of the other statues in the game,

    • Zebedeeeeee

      ORE SANJO!

Reminds me of when tried to create a Momotaros Sith.

I kinda hoped for some sort of base with a train moving around it. Also I kinda hoped for Umbara to look a bit more… ummm black…

When it comes to modern day BW Austin, remember their woeful efforts since 4.0, all their broken promises, inability to fix bugs (like the ongoing preview window bug or romance companion gift not working) and base your expectation on that – minimal to non existent at best.

      • 平賀才人

lol, well they did delivered more strongholds, are making KOTFE companions customizable, will add Lana’s hair next update. At least for me they are delivering. Dont get me wrong I’m not really upset about the train and the planet lookings I just had my own vision of them in my mind and they were sightly different.

Hey Dulfy. Given how minimal the new content is coming out of SWTOR, are you ever going to get back into ESO or any other MMO? Seems the only section on this website that sees constant updates is GW2. Is that all you are playing these days?

  • De-ranker

Anything is better than the reskinned trash they’ve been giving us for almost a year.

  • Chakra Kusanagi

Cool, they’ve used the bergmann pistols as a base for this series of blasters.

Too bad they made a shitty job of it.

I’ve always thought the bergmann series of pistols would make awesome blasters.

(in fact, I use pictures of them as blasters in my star wars edge of the empire games, since none of my players are gun-nuts and don’t recognize them as real guns)

    • Ben Gimson

Yeah could’ve looked mint with different colours and minus the crappy lights.

  • Sean-Michael McAlpine

Those electroblades are gorgeous. They’re a must have for me. I love the melee weapons that aren’t lightsabers. Wish we had some pics of the mounts tho. Sadly those armor sets are pretty ugly.

  • Errtai

A train going through a…. Stargate???! What the hell is that?

I thought this was Star Wars, not Stargate. What’s next; Jaffa warriors and Goa’uld bad guys?!

    • Darth Ji’inx

Pretty sure those rings just generate the tunnel (track) that the train goes through, rather than being a wormhole.

      • Teddybomber87

Repulsure Energy i guess. Exist a liitle while in the Star Wars Galaxy.

    • 平賀才人

Lol you guys complain a lot about that anti-gravity ring looking like a star gate when we’ve already played content with gree hypergates (actual star gates) without you guys complaining…

  • Here’s hoping this new SH, if nothing else, lets us get up to a 175% Conquest bonus 🙂

  • Sabretooth

    Beryar’s MK-3 Electroblade

    and pistol looks cool

  • 平賀才人

Oh I love the MK-3 blaster looks like the classic Han Solo one.

  • Matthew Langley

Still waiting for an Alderaan Castle stronghold 🙁
