SWTOR Yavin Warzone Delayed to Patch 5.6.1

Bioware is delaying the Yavin Warzone to Patch 5.6.1 due to quality issues.

Warzone Date Change and 5.6 Details | 11.16.2017, 01:01 PM

Hey folks,

Quick update on Game Update 5.6. As we are getting closer to the launch of Update, we feel we need just a little bit more time to really bring the new Yavin Warzone up to quality. We are going to pull it out of Game Update 5.6 (launching 11/28), instead it will now launch as a part of 5.6.1 only two weeks later on 12/12. We apologize for the delay in the Warzone, we know that there is a lot of excitement for it and we are eager to get it to you as quick as we can.

This date change does not impact any other elements of the Game Update. As a reminder, here are some of the bigger things coming in two weeks with 5.6 (this is not a comprehensive list):

  • New Flashpoint on Copero, a planet in the Chiss Ascendency (Solo Story, Group Story, Veteran, and Master Modes) and the continuation of the Alliance traitor storyline.
  • The return of Raina Temple.
  • Nahut, the third boss in the Gods From the Machine Operation (Story and Veteran modes).
  • New GSF Deathmatch map set in the orbit over Iokath.
  • Significant changes to Group Finder (new UI, all queuing in one place, upgraded rewards, solo activities added).
  • Legacy-wide Credits and Unassembled Components.
  • Changes to Galactic Command disintegration (gear now disintegrates directly into Unassembled Components to help mitigate RNG).
  • New item, the Master’s Datacron. This allows you to take any existing character and boost them to level 70; this boost does not progress story.
  • And more!

Thanks everyone.

In addition, there hasn’t been any information on whether UC cap will be increased.

To the first part of your question, it is giving you UC instead of CXP, not Command Tokens, so that is not impacted. I do not believe there is a choice on what items break down into but a general rule is stuff with stats breaks down to UC, everything else is CXP. There may be exceptions but I believe that was the guiding principle.

There is no longer a cap on UC because it isn’t actually tracked via the currency tab any longer. It is now a stackable bind on legacy token in your inventory (allowing you to move it across characters).

Also related to that is UC costs and accrual. Costs for all items via UC will be doubled in 5.6, BUT, everywhere you previously gained UC (Warzones, Missions, Ops) will also double. This totally breaks even, there is no change to current rates for gaining and spending UC. The team set those numbers higher to be able to get the values for breaking down items from Galactic Command in place.

It was actually mentioned in the roadmap, but it was a small mention so I think most people missed it.

We are producing a blog on it but I can give some basics. It is purchased from the CM (similar to the 60 and 65 tokens), and will be tradeable (so it can be sold on the GTN). It then gives you an item which you use on a character. That item will level you to 70 and place you on your Class ship (whether you have one or not from story, this doesn’t impact your ability to get it naturally). It will also give you a set of starter gear for level 70.

It does not progress story at all so you could even use it on a brand new level one.

  • Syok

I am satisfied with disintegrating gear right into components, I am only pissed off about ops.
On 9th of December it will be 3 years since SoR was released and since then we got only 2 bosses and 3rd is on the way.
Also: Master’s Datacron. Try to guess the most expensive CM item in following months… Still, feels like a waste of money since getting to 70 is now a matter of hours. Remember when getting to 55 took weeks? I am glad it’s over, although most people managed to learn their class by that time.

    • yep its a shame and instead make new ops they let us play as a mouse droid 🙁

  • Travelering_swordsman

honestly this masters datacron is bad idea, if u used that. no story 1-3 titles and those were always nice to have. 🙂

    • Kelvin Noe

It says it has no affect on story so I’m assuming that applies to the title cards as well

    • Caryss Muur

No story progression. Youll be a 70 and finish up Korriban with level/planet sync.

    • Mattador

That was the previous character boosts, that got rid of the story, the datacron has no effect on the story.

    • Syok

You’ll really pay for it even though getting to level 70 is now a mindless grind for few hours, nothing more?

    • TheCulprit

I thought it was so you can start grinding CXP right at the start of the game. Create a new toon, bump to 70, start going thru story gathering CXP and gear. Maybe get some nice gear by the end of the original story, and the extra “story” they added later. Level and PvP. I might resub for a month to try it out.

      • Syok

That seems like the only logical explanation for starting storyline as level 70, except for being a lazy bum! 8)

  • HMH

I really wish they would quit retooling the UIs and spend the time on actual content.

  • Bang bang

Why, am I not surprise here

  • Jaime spenser

A mannan warzone would be interesting, instead of yavin.

    • gua543

It’s not the location that matters, it’s what the objective of the warzone is. Tbh I would be ok with just getting another warzone.

  • drT.1

An additional deathmatch map for GSF
    =
death match happens even more often, because ever map has the same random chance to be selected

THIS SUCKS! I hate deathmatch in GSF!

  • Ben Gimson

    “Legacy-wide Credits and Unassembled Components.
Changes to Galactic Command disintegration (gear now disintegrates directly into Unassembled Components to help mitigate RNG).”

Good stuff. The new boost should be good too. Losing out on titles with previous boosts made them pretty much useless to me.

  • Ecarlate Purpureus

lol “Also related to that is UC costs and accrual. Costs for all items via UC will be doubled in 5.6”

    • Dude

I love how he just throws doubled…as if its no big deal. I understand balance but really? doubled to fix what they are messing up imho, I like the idea of getting uc but i cant wrap my head around why the costs need to double, guess ill just stick with my day job lol

    • Sweet

Those retards, doing exactly the opposite of what they’re supposed to do.

  • Meelis S

They can delay or take their time to finish new updates as long they want. Login activity already started to go down slowly after new server merges. I dont there will be another server merge in future. This is it.

  • Vladislav

Too little too late… Ofc only my opinion, but things they doing now they should have done 2 years ago (new warzone, operation, legacy credits) and not change how Operation’s loot works in..was it 4.0?

    • John Kosto

4.0 actually had gear drop in operation bosses. It was 5.0 that was the complete shitshow. But yes, it should be the way things are done, but with 4-5 times the amount of content they are releasing.

  • Jerac

Took them 6 years to implement Legacy wide credits. I’d like to say better late than never, but how did something so simple take them 6 years to implement? Good lord, its a no brainer.

    • Dude

yes, when I started playing I remember thinking wtf? why? oh well guess I will have to sub and send through the mail…eh not good bw/ea

      • Leah

wait for it. think about it. right now, you can have 350k credits per character as preferred. how do you think legacy wide credits will impact you? for the better? or for the worse by reducing your already low credit limit to even lower amount?

  • Whitedragon
  • Matheus

Will Temple’s Force Sensitivity be explored?

  • Kenshi

Have they mentioned if they’ll be raising the credit cap? If they leave it at 4.3B that’ll screw me. 🙁

    • duokit

SWTOR is a 32 bit program. They literally can’t fix this without implementing some kind of new number library into their engine, which I’m fairly confident they are unable to do.

    • Sweet

If you have no use for the extra money, maybe you can give me some hundreds of millions.

  • I’m totally OK with this. I would love a new WZ but it’s worth the wait. There are plenty of other goodies in this update.

  • I like the idea of the Master Datacron as well. Would be cool to play the stories again from the beginning with a level 70 toon.

  • Drivan

With something as lucrative as the master datacron I’m sure that will be a CM direct buy for 5k-10K CC only. Not attainable in for game currancy and BoP.

    • John Kosto

This is actually answered in the last paragraph above:

“We are producing a blog on it but I can give some basics. It will also give you a set of starter gear for level 70.”

I don’t think an item such as this one would be priced at 5k-10k on the Cartel Market. How much better is it from the purchase of a new level 65 character token?

      • Matrim

The only better quality is that it allows you to play all the vanilla story. The 65 token puts you straight into the zakuul shitfest.

        • John Kosto

I guess so, but you don’t need to be level 70 to do that…

          • Matrim

Well you don’t need it but what why do you expect sensible decisions from BW? It’s just another CM milk item to earn them some more $$$.

  • John Kosto

“Also related to that is UC costs and accrual. Costs for all items via UC will be doubled in 5.6, BUT, everywhere you previously gained UC (Warzones, Missions, Ops) will also double. This totally breaks even, there is no change to current rates for gaining and spending UC. The team set those numbers higher to be able to get the values for breaking down items from Galactic Command in place.”

Well, if you do NOT double the UCs that we have all gathered across each one of our toons, then it most definitely does NOT break even Eric.

    • Syok

They want to double UC costs but also want to double UC gain. It willl be the same, smh for BW.

      • John Kosto

It won’t be the same for the UC we already have. They will be devalued.

        • Syok

Okay, I missed the point. My bad.

  • Alaric Skywalker

My only question is, will players have the option of helping Ensign Temple learn how to use the force? I mean, Guss Tuno got that ability when you got him, so why not Temple as well? I think she’d make a great force wielder for your team. Plus, I’m sure Lana would probably be willing to help her with it. *watch it be that, Ensign uses the force to persuade one of the enemies to give us Theron’s position and Lana asks how long Ensign was able to do that, which kicks it off*

    • Hugh Salamando Filth

Ugh, since KotFE I’m srsly fed up with FUs.
As long as we can keep Temple from using the Force and kill off Beniko one day I’m happy.

  • Whitedragon
  • kirk

wasn’t there supposed to be 5 new raid bosses before the end of the year? and here we are still only with 2… when they gonna shut servers down, and just keep a mock server up so people can still purchase from the CM? that seems to be their only priority.

    • John Doe

      very soon.

    • Disqus this

      It’s pretty bad in swtor.

It was supposed to be one complete OPS of 5 bosses in a year. Completed by the end of December 2017. bioware could only complete 3 bosses in 11 months.

The fact that they cannot stay on schedule with a year of planning is just a testament to biwoare lack of skill and ability to get things done in a timely manner.

Pushing back this PVP map is just another show in their lack of ability and given how little content this game has actually produced that is considered entertaining and worth repeating content. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked bioware can’t get this patch completed done and on time.

      • Errtai

Actually it’s not lack of skill or ability but lack of manpower. Which means lack of funds.

        • Disqus this

I’ll add those to the list because I think it’s all of the above actually.

    • Fred Garvin

Well, to be fair EA only has a net income of around $1.2 billion so I’m sure it’s hard to find the funds. I mean imagine how poor WoW players must feel since Blizzard only has a net income of around $200 million. HA! Scrubs. Probably only one boss………ummm, wait, what is that? There’s been 29 raid bosses (and 11 more incoming next week) released in the same time frame that SWTOR will (maybe) have 5? Hmmmm. How about that. Guess there’s no reason for EA not to invest more money into THE BIGGEST FUCKING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ON THE GODDAMN PLANET.

  • Duke BigSnacks Macias

It only took me bitching about it for 5 years but FINALLY the legacy credits!
