GW2 Gemstore updated today with the Lucky Dog Harvesting Tool for 1000 gems and Fire Breathing Bow/Quiver combo from BLC chests.

Bow is awesome, sadly it’s an uncommon BL drop (acc bound), and due to my crappy RNG I’ll never be able to get it 🙁

  I bought the 25 pack of Lions Keys and after using up 10 Lions Keys I was able to get the both the bow and quiver skin.

  Mixed feelings about it. It gives bonus mats but is the single most immersion breaking equip I have ever seen. The animation also seems incredibly long unless you can walk off after the bar is done.

    It’s probably like other harvesting tools in that weapon swapping breaks the animation so you can walk off after the gathering bar is complete.

How often does one get resources?

    Also, how low is low tier? Tiers 1 – 2? 1 – 4? I’m guessing it won’t drop T5 or T6 mats due to the potential of glutting the market, but if it only drops T1-2, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

      If it occasionally drops tier 4 though, it will pay itself off in a year or two.

        People on the forums have confirmed that T6 DOES sometimes drop. So yeah, this actually seems like an extremely worthwhile purchase.

        So I ended up buying this and I’m just sharing my findings so far. I’ve gotten T1, T2 and T5 mats thus far; the tier of the node you are harvesting from does not seem to make a difference. The type of Fine mat received appears to be entirely random; I’ve gotten fangs, blood, totems, dust, bones and claws so far. In terms of drop %, I’d say it’s about the same as the Watchwork pick (about 20% chance of a return), but it’s less noticeable than the pick since the pick has 3 strikes on a single node as opposed to a single strike from plant nodes.

  While it looks cool, I find it conceptually a bit odd. If you consider it a dragon bow then you should note the fact that the dragon is busy launching arrows forward by flexing them off its abdomen. I don’t see how that would appeal to archers. Nutty hermet pet rangers perhaps, but not archers.

  Maybe it’s a legendary longbow project that got rejected or something. Was the same with Storm bow before that (they denied it but that’s what legit leaks said).

A real shame Arena Net felt the need to flat out lie about that longbow. No way in hell is that thing “uncommon.” Not with how many keys I’ve dropped to get jack shit.
