  • AbnerDoon

Well if the generic pack weapons are 1k CC I’m going to guess Tulak Hord’s lightsaber is going to be another of the 5k CC ones.

Not a bad price for the npc decos though.

    • KevinSaku

If it comes for sell one day

  • Jep Fareborn

Looks like the new ching-chong outfit (among other items) were not put up as Direct Sale as people were led or hoping to believe – need to buy packs!

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ec0cc7d952690b58c9bc069dc6ec0541a0ec9a69edf3bed278994519d4ed363c.gif

    • Little Flame

And those packs have 0 chance of getting the new items. Because you can get ANYTHING from the cartel market from them.. fuckin wankers

on a sidenote, seeing as I had too many cc’s laying about. 60 crates. not a single new item. I’m beginning to think that they were added but not made obtainable yet

    • Darth Ji’inx

      Sounds a bit racist…

      • Jep Fareborn

Go sip your soy. Or in this case, saki. ;p

        • Darth Ji’inx

I’ve had the same bottles of sake in the fridge for over a year. :/

    • Davrel Kex

      “Ching chong” outfit? Seriously? Yikes.

  • CrumpetTrumpet

$10 each for a bunch of generic, bronze-tier blasters? We had much more extravagant looking weapons like the czerka series for 500cc. I doubt I could tell these apart from the plasma blasters if I wasn’t looking close enough.

  • Harston

Prefer the normal pack structure honestly –
    Old Packs + Direct Sales

    • Jep Fareborn

NO Packs + All Direct Sales. Everything Direct Sale!

      • Harston

The problem with ‘All Direct Sales’ is that prices on the GTN go for the moon. Nobody wants to put something they bought for 1400 Cartel coins on the GTN for a reasonable price – You’ve gotta charge out the wazoo to make it worthwhile.

        • ThatGuy

The prices already went to the moon, then Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, stopped at Pluto to point & laugh, and finally left the solar system. The average price for hypercrates on the GTN used to be in the vacinity of 5-6M, and that was back when money was harder to come by. 6M was a lot of credits. I can practically fart that amount in the game these days. Lately, the average price for a hypercrate is more like 70M.

The prices of packs/hypercrates in terms of CC haven’t changed that much since the introduction of them, plus the newer packs suck compared with older ones. There’s absolutely nothing driving the GTN prices except sheer greed. My advice is to buy credits through a gold spammer, which is the better investment, or don’t bother

          • Harston

Sorta! I get where you’re coming from – But when new pack items were more common, they tended to sell for less. You could potentially get the silver sets for a decent price. But now… Since they cost upwards of 1000CCs and barely end up on the GTN, they’re super expensive.

            • Guest

I would much rather have every item from the CM be available through playing the game, but direct purchases would be much better than gambling for them.

          • R315r4z0r

It’s not greed, it’s inflation. And this is super important to understand because if you don’t understand, then you become part of the problem.

The value of each individual credit has gone down drastically since the game started. That means an item now requires more credits to represent the same value it always has been at.

Do you think everybody on every server secretly got together and decided that all prices on the GTN should be in the multi-million range? Of course not.

What happened was that Bioware, during 4.0, had too many credits being injected into the economy, what with the stupid rewards being given out for heroics. And everyone was all “No! Don’t nerf the rewards! I’m making money this way!” without realizing that the amount of money you have doesn’t change your worth.

Now the game has too many credits. 2,000,000 credits today is like 100,000 credits in 2.0. That’s not greed. That’s the value of a credit going down.

        • R315r4z0r

No, direct sales will stagnate GTN prices and kill the competitive market.

GTN prices are determined by two things:
          1. Rarity / Scarcity

          2. Real money equivalence.

And #2 plays a part of #1. RNG crates create scarcity. Even when a bunch of people are buying crates, the supply of rare items generally stays pretty low and that keeps the prices up.

When they are direct sale, people can use it as a way of ‘buying’ credits by buying these items and simply posting them on the GTN. The issue is, everyone can do this and if enough people do it, the price will go down to a point where it’s not worth the cartel coins any more… at which point people will stop doing it until the price goes back up.

      • Harston

( Newsflash, you give more money to Bioware buy purchasing through direct sales than picking up an item on the GTN. 😉 )

        • R315r4z0r

Technically it goes to EA. The money you spend in game does not go back into game development. It goes into EA’s wallet.

If EA determines there is enough profit, they keep Bioware on the project. Otherwise, they’ll shut it down.

  • leore1651

Good point: Cantina Performers Personnel Bundle: it’s great and cheap. Can’t wait to see Underworld Patrons Personnel Bundle and Mandalorian’s War Camp Decoration Bundle

Bad point: Ultimate Cartel Pack: the worst thing I saw in the Cartel Market = Where is the new stuffs when I open this new packs + too expensive on GTN. SO DON’T BUY THIS SHIT. I’m so edgy with these fucking new packs.

I only want direct sales if they continu with these packs.

  • uuu

    Direct sales suck.

    Never asked for this.

    • Jep Fareborn

Fuq you ~ go play casino IRL not in fantasy land!

      • Harston

Direct Sales are good, but not at the expense of getting rid of the old packs. Ideally we’d want both.

        • Darth Ji’inx

They can also be overpriced if you take away the RNG. :/

    • Darth Ji’inx

      But many people did. 😉

    • Direct sales are the best. Don’t worry, once you finish puberty you can go gamble at an actual casino. Then you’ll understand.

  • Adam Mauldin

Tulak hord saber tho hehe, and turtles and lizards and freaky lifeless dark eye masks! <3

  • Popo

Tulak Hord lightsaber says it’s available from the cartel pack in the collections interface?

    • Jep Fareborn

Just tried it moments ago as of this posting. Didn’t work. ;p

    • Darth Ji’inx

It is. Someone on reddit got it.

  • KevinSaku

And yes now I’m done I stop defending Bioware they just had to screw it up I wouldn’t have mind spending money on a Cartel Pack that would have actually the new items in them or direct sells but now they ask us to spend money on cartel pack just in hopes to get the items? No I’m done Eric Musco crossed the line when he said later meanwhile buy the pack. Thought that after the success of the direct sells items from last time they would have kept it but no not putting new items in new packs.

For 4 years I kept fighting defending Bioware but with a BS answer like that no that’s it that’s going too far

    • Guest

“spend money on cartel pack just in hopes to get the items”
thats how its always been lol its always been BS.
      nothing changed.

      • KevinSaku

Bro now it’s really bs at least before you had 1 new items now you don’t here is why it’s really BS now

    • Igor Lopes

Musco said the new items will be up for direct sale soon, tho he didn’t give a date.

      Edit: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9602833&postcount=14

      • KevinSaku

Yeah in a few months when the game will shut down cuz of anthem falling and EA shutting down Bioware don’t get caught in that and I remember him saying though if you want the items now try out the new pack with almost no chance at getting a single item you want no thank you

        • Rompe Himself

Anthem isn’t being released til Jan 2019 (at this stage). So at the very least, IF Anthem crashes and burns and Papa EA pulls the behind the shed tactic on Bioware, it won’t be til at least mid 2019 (if at all).

          • KevinSaku

Knowing EA they might just release Anthem right after red dead redemption they even decided to release Battlefield V between CoD and red dead wouldn’t be surprised they are actually trying to shut Dice down so EA pressuring Bioware for releasing Anthem at a bad moment and unfinished wouldn’t surprised me at all

    • R315r4z0r

What do you mean… is that not how these packs have ALWAYS worked? How is it any different and why is it worth complaining about it NOW?

You seem a bit late to the party. :

      • KevinSaku

Here is the differences at least before you were 100% sure of getting at least 1 NEW item now you don’t it’s just any items on the collection

  • Adam Haynes

Did they actually start double CXP at 4 or are they going for consistency with today going down as a “complete” fuck up?

    • Adam Haynes

Silly me, of course they failed and completed the day.

      • Thundertrain

You’re right, this was silly of you. LOL

Funnily enough, they had no problem getting the new items into the Cartel market working right away. But the Double XP bonus that everyone was waiting for yesterday after YET ANOTHER extended downtime? Nope, f*cked that up somehow.

        • Adam Haynes

Hahaha, exactly… funny how they never seem to screw up a money making opportunity, mistakes only seem to occur when it involves one of the petty perks or events that the player might benefit from. Of course they haven’t even acknowledged the fact and will certainly do nothing to reimburse their customers for an entire day’s missed perk. If these idiots were an employee or girlfriend they’d have been fired or kicked to the curb long ago. For some strange reason I continue to play this shit… it’ll be interesting to see what the straw that breaks the camel’s back will be.

  • Jonathan Parker

Another Mandalorian armor ruined with weird ass shit added to it, and yet another amazing lightsaber that’s probably near-unobtainable for anyone who doesn’t have hundreds of millions of credits ready to burn. WHO PUTS METAL EARS ON A MANDALORIAN HELMET?!?!

    • Darth Ji’inx

The armor resembles Sabine Wren from Rebels, as well as Bo-Katan’s Nite Owls (Death Watch faction) from TCW/Rebels. I’m assuming the head protrusions are to emphasize the owl aspect of its supposed inspiration.

As for the lightsaber: don’t forget those with tons of money to throw around… XP

      • Jonathan Parker

It resembles most Mandalorian armor we saw in that era (don’t even get me started on that dumb, teenage hipster from Rebels), but I just can’t get past those big damn ears and the fact that the gauntlets and shoulder plates stick out way too far. It’s like the armor plates are stretching out more than they should be. If they just put in a good old Mando helmet, like the Death Watch helmets we saw a lot of in Clone Wars, I’d be perfectly fine with it! That Mandalorian armor is one of the coolest things in Star Wars, especially considering the lore behind it. Don’t like this one’s color either, but that’s not a problem if it dyes well.

        • Darth Ji’inx

I found Sabine more likable in the later seasons…

          • Jonathan Parker

I liked her more, I guess. Had a fantastic scene in the finale where she let Ezra leave, not much beyond that.

        • Fubarz

Not a bad idea Getting them to make Sabine’s Armor for the next Sub award Along with the darksaber

        • Ben Gimson

It’d be great if they released the Neo-Crusader armor imho.

        • John Kosto

Sabine is a much more interesting character and personaliy than you will ever be, and don’t forget that she is not even real.

          • Jonathan Parker

Whoa dude, where did that come from?

    • abaddonsmummy

I don’t like most of the items here, however the helmet (armour is horrible) is the only thing I’ll try to get of the GTN.
I like the look and most of my alts have a ‘mando’ look about them and this is an interesting helm.
Maybe the blasters too, as I look the look of the old style imperial blasters aka Episodes IV-VI.
Weirdly my eye is drawn to the cantina and mando deco’s, weird because I only ever decorated my strongholds to get the max conquest bonus. (previous to the new disgusting cash cow stronhghold area opening bonus).
Have the impulse to turn my empty (but fully opened :/) Yavin s/hold into a huge casino.
Maybe with a secret Mando camp out back.
GTN prices will decide that idea though.

      • gua543

Prepare a hundred million credits and you just might get it the way you want to.

    Hi everyone, Andryah here.
Just making sure everyone knows I’m a cunt.
    Thanks.

    P.S. I mean a total CUNT.

    • Eban
      • abaddonsmummy

Ok I’m lost, I’ve seen this a few times now and I don’t get it.
        Who is this Andryah person?
        What’s it in reference to?
“Please help Eban, you’re my only hope” XD

        • Ben Gimson

Andryah is an obnoxious piece of shit who religiously defends every BW decision on the forums and attacks anyone who dares to say anything that isn’t positive. He/she is an obnoxious piece of shit who would happily blame you if your collections window suddenly went to 0%, because it couldn’t be BW’s fault.

And he/she has been around since day one, thus he/she is probably the most well known cunt in swtor :’)

          • abaddonsmummy

Thanks Ben, I take it they are just a Swtor forums poster because I haven’t seen that name here before, albeit they could use an alternate name here.

          • R315r4z0r

Really? I’ve been around since the game launched and never heard of this person.

            • Ben Gimson

Well, he/she has always been there. Dunno what to tell you.

            • Eban

Browse any thread on SWTOR forums that has a negative feedback title, you’ll find the infamous cunt.

        • Eban

          Yeah What Ben said.
          Pretty much nailed it.

        • My Dog’s Poo > SWTOR

He’s a different tier of white knight. For example, you are willing to look at both sides of the coin when you post comments here on Dulfy. You’re open minded and willing to share differing opinions. Andryah however is very similar to a robot, programmed specifically to support Bioware Austin decisions no matter what they are. And if anyone dares to disagree he will scold them in the forums. Oh yeah and he LOVESSSSS to use big words too when he speaks. I find it amusing. It’s almost like he has a dictionary right in his hand and browses through each page and choosing random ass keywords that fit the agenda.

The agenda being….. I am 100% in favor of EA corporate decisions and Bioware is the best company ever made.

  • John Kosto

I personally do not even understand how people still pay real money to buy these items, especially after they made the changes to the packs. And by changes, I mean that there are no packs anymore. That’s pretty disgusting.

    • Fred Garvin

      [OP is Fred G]

Now you either buy the item outright or buy an “ultimate” pack or whatever it’s called that has random items from every pack release ever, correct?

      • John Kosto

Yes, which is really awful…. for obvious reasons.

        • Matthew Langley

Why is it awful? I can see arguments for the “ultimate” pack, though buying stuff outright means you don’t have to roll the dice anymore, you know what you are getting and if it’s worth the money, no more gacha mechanics… unless of course you want to and can roll the dice with the ultimate pack.

          • John Kosto

I have explained it before (and of course I wasn’t the only one), when they made the changes to the packs. Let’s just go with someone who wants to have all the items in a new pack (I am not even close to that, as I just don’t care about cosmetic crap that much).

            Option 1 (the old system):
Spend 5500 Cartel Coins, buy a hypercrate, get almost every single item in the newest pack. Sell the duplicate items that you get from the hypercrate on the GTN, then buy all the items you didn’t get in the first place, and still make some profit. 100% in collections for the aforementioned pack, and credits in your account.

Option 2 (the new system – direct sales):
Spend a minimum amount of 15000 Cartel Coins to have every single item in the pack, by buying everything in a direct sale.

Option 3 (the new system – the GTN solution)
Spend a minimum of 200 million credits on the GTN to acquire every single item in the newest pack.

Which one seems the best option to you? Since the introduction of the new packs that are RNG and can have ANY item in the game, inflation has increased so much, that the economy of the game is even more broken. And many people (including myself) don’t even bother with cosmetic items at all anymore. I am never going to buy items that cost 47 million credits on the GTN or a lightsaber that costs 6000 Cartel Coins as a direct sale, that’s just making fun of me in my face (same thing with the new “roadmap”)

            • Matthew Langley

Did you ever try to regularly get items from previous packs? I suspect not since it doesn’t play out like you say. You end up having to buy multiple hypercrates, sometimes even 4-5+ to get enough coverage and decent items to sell to then get the rest. It’s especially variable based on the crate and the value of the items dropped. The rarest items wills ell 50-100 mill+ while many others will sell less than 1 mill.

So no I don’t agree with you have, being someone who at one point did spend way too much money trying to get most of the best items out of a pack it usually doesn’t add up the way you are claiming and direct purchasing the ones you want are far better, especially for those hyper expensive and most valued items.

The only way the pack system would *potentially* be better is if they went back to the cartel cert system, didn’t make it exclude another item, and expanded what you could get by direct cartel cert purchases… basically moving more towards something like ESO’s system but with reselling.

Though direct purchasing is far better than in the past, if you just one thing that ends up crazy expensive you don’t have to dump $100-$200 and get vaults full of 10+ repeats of junk that won’t sell worth a damn. I still have nearly a characters full set of fully expanded vaults full of junk old items that dropped so much more common than the good stuff. Basically worthless crap I’ve been slowly selling off but it’s barely worth the time rather than just destroying it.

        • Fred Garvin

          [OP is Fred G]

The direct purchase would be a nice option to eliminate some RNG but the prices seem a bit high. Plus, by eliminating the new stuff being in their own pack it creates a situation that just seems….bleh. It’d be one thing if they didn’t release items very often but it’s every month and it’s no secret it’s the main focus of their “content.”

Most games these days generate a high % of their revenue from direct purchase items or some form of packs so I don’t hold that against them; but most games also keep putting out 10x the PLAYABLE content that also gives you options of getting a ton of items in the actual game.

    • AbnerDoon

Yup I make(made) all my purchases off the GTN. But with the new “Ultimate” style pack it’s even more rng than before to see new items.

Even generic decos because they are so hard to get are at crazy prices now. It was hard enough to get them in the old packs as it was. Or have to buy stack of Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum with 1 randomly drawn deco.

It’s nice that they have stuff for direct sale. But when you have to pay the price of a months sub to buy and unlock the cosmetic for your account it is ridiculous. That’s not even taking in to account the $50 lightsabers.

      • Matthew Langley

I don’t know, BDO outfits are often $30-50 and they can’t be unlocked per account or transferred.

So though it might seem high compared to some other MMOs it’s not as ridiculous as it might seem (and being able to unlock it for all characters is a huge bonus compared to many other MMOs).

        • AbnerDoon

Well that rules out BDO from my list of next MMO’s to try.

          • Matthew Langley

Probably the thing I dislike the most about BDO. To be fair their outfits are extremely detailed and to a higher quality than just about any other MMO, though they don’t even have an option to pay to unlock to account, so be sure you want it on the character you get it on if you do. Otherwise a good game.

Unfortunately prices for these things are pretty high overall in many MMOs/Online games these days.

            • Amodin

You forget that not only do the BDO outfits provide a bonus to experience, durability loss, but there is also no monthly subscription payment for that game – you just purchase it one time. They make their money on the cash shop that provides an incentive to get items from it. What items from the Cartel Market can provide any player that, along with not paying any subscription? Go Preferred, and see how long you last not having access to over half the UI, what’s left of recycled game content and gear that you are allowed to equip.

EA has sucked the consumer dry with this game, and BDO just sells things on the cash shop with no limitations of not having a subscription, unlike the pathetic free to play model that SWTOR thought was a ‘good idea’.

              • Matthew Langley

Those bonuses are a negative to many (very pay to win-ish). Additionally monthly subs are not required for this game or that one, though SWTOR is free while BDO is initial purchase (very cheap though). BDO has something basically identical to subs, X days of benefits you can purchase.

Sorry BDO sells $30+ vanity outfits (with minor bonuses) that you can’t transfer or unlock for your account. There are also other benefits you can buy just like SWTOR or play it without spending any of that (and just the initial purchase).

If you’re going to expand on it then you should expand on it correctly.

I enjoy both MMOs though being able to unlock vanity outfits per account is a *huge* benefit that MANY BDO fans want and have asked for. They don’t to make their money, it’s a cash grab.

          • Rompe Himself

You can always create your own BDO private server and using admin functions, give yourself whatever you want in game. Instructions on how to make your own server for BDO (as well as WOW – Legion which I can recommend as I have one myself) can be sourced via Google.

    • Shawn Hargrave

you have fucktards who will buy them ton and make videos of them opening this crap while they mortgage there house for more of it (no fucktards i dont really believe people are mortgaging there houses for this)

The worst part of this trend… pushing every item in the game into these ultimate packs… is that is most punishes the people who have been playing and supporting the game the longest. Figure the more money (for cartel coins or packs) or time (for credits to buy on the GTN) you’ve spent in the past to fill your collection, the more fucked you are by shoving every single item into an ever-increasing pile of crap you already have that further diminishes the random chance that you’ll get the new item you want. So either EAWare doesn’t have the sense to recognize this, or they are tailoring their approach to the newcomers who don’t have collections full of stuff, who are excited that any of the really old shit can now pop out of a pack. Either way? I got the message, EA. You won’t get another dollar from me for the CM… and if you don’t get back on track with offering more content, you’ll stop getting my subscription money as well. And I say this as a CE-Founder Beta Monkey who has been pretty pro-SWTOR over the years. These last several pushes with the CM are turning into one Fuck You from EA too many.

    • John Kosto

While I agree with every single word, it has been a “fuck you” from EA for years now.

    • gfg@gmail.com

Haven’t bought any of the new packs for same reasons. I did like a couple of recent new armour sets that came out and got them directly, unlocked them in the 50% off unlock sale. Total price cheaper than a bunch of crates and eliminated the BS gambling. ie: got what I wanted. Never buying packs again.

  • Gratua Cuun

I’m a simple man with simple tastes

Show me a TOR version of an E-11 Blaster rifle and Clone Wars armor and I buy it

  • Fubarz

Going to see Solo with my kid went online to get tickets only 5 seats were unavailable in the theater LOL Wonder if Disney will get the message!!

    • Shawn Hargrave

looks god aweful that guy playing han looks nothing like han and then the guy that plays lando says lando is pansexual just more sjw pc bs smh

      • Darth Ji’inx

One of the writers is Lawrence Kasdan (Empire & ROTJ), which might be a good thing.

I agree that Ehrenreich doesn’t really look like Ford. :/

While the Lando thing sounds like pandering, I don’t think it fundamentally changes (ruins) his character. Just because he flirted a bit with Leia, doesn’t mean he has to be hetero. Honestly, I think its going to depend on how it’s executed. If it’s more subtle (less gimmicky), then it’s fine by me.

Overall, I’m both skeptical and excited for Solo. Furthermore, I’m withholding judgment until I see it for myself.

        • Shawn Hargrave

Ill watch it on hbo or netflix someday after the last jedi star wars will not get any money from me anymore that was the worst star wars movie ever total pile of shit and they follow it up with this? Meh im looking fwd to ant man 2 and marvel movies who have been destroying star wars lately

          • Sorrai

I’m going in with very low expectations in the hope that I’ll end up being pleasantly surprised, but I think it was a dumb move for them to make a Han Solo movie when they have an infinite amount of other ideas to explore. Harrison Ford is what made Han Solo so loved by the fans. You can’t emulate that kind of charisma. I can’t shake the feeling that this new guy is just a pale imitation and the teaser trailers didn’t really do anything to sway that opinion. It seems to me that young, hunky actors are a dime a dozen in Hollywood. It would have been nice if they found an actor whose voice was at least somewhat reminiscent of Harrison Ford. His looks and voice and presence are one of a kind.

I’m going to see the movie on Tuesday. I hope it will be good.

            • Sledge

Or maybe they should do a force unleashed story, with vader and his apprentice, would be pretty cool (if they do it right, and disney not involved)

              • Paulo Gomes

I gotta be honest. Although I don’t play TOR anymore there’s always a little itch in me for wreaking havoc with a lightsaber. So I’ve been going through “The Force Unleashed” 1 and 2 to satisfy my SW obsessions (yes, I know TFU2 is crap… But I can run with TWO lightsabers!!!).

A TFU movie would be great. And they even have the actor to do it! The guy is real. And he’s a SW fan. He appeared on some of “Battlestar Galactica” episodes (great sci-fi series, check it out if you don’t know of it).

                http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sam_Witwer

It would be a great tie-in with “Rogue One” I think.

IF (and that’s a big “if”) they did it right…

          • Darth Ji’inx

I’d actually recommend this movie. It doesn’t suffer from a lot of the things that people hated about TLJ. It was just a fun movie that had an interesting cameo, and actually fixed some plotholes with A New Hope and Empire.

        • Ben Gimson

I think it’s pretty safe to say GL would never have considered Lando ‘pansexual’. That kind of retrospective pandering is going to cost Disney in the long-run if they don’t lay off. A new character would have been a far smarter choice to showcase their sexuality politics, instead of messing with a well-liked and decades-old character.

Which is why I’ll be watching it illegally online 😀

          • Paulo Gomes

That’s the real problem. Why KK and her staff insist on making these movies about current politics that will be ridiculed and outdated in 5, 10 years is beyond me.

Not that Star Wars didn’t have political messaging. It did. A lot of it. But it was “general consensus” kind of political messaging. Fighting for freedom, democracy and that sort of stuff.

Lando Calrissian was NOT a “pan-sexual”. He was the ultimate player, a ladies man. Just the way he put the moves on Leia in Bespin should tell you that much. Ridiculous to twist a character decades old to suit your political agenda. But people shouldn’t be surprised, after what they did to Luke. And Han, to a lesser degree.

And yes, I’m going to watch it illegally too. Which is way better than TLJ. THAT one I don’t ever want to watch again as long as I live…

            • Ben Gimson

Yep, use a beloved character from a beloved franchise that’s been around for decades to push your politics and you’re going to create more division not less. Why these hardcore SJWs don’t see that, I’ll never understand, and it’s depressing that Star Wars has become a vehicle for militant LGBQT advocates.

              • Darth Ji’inx

I watched the movie, and it was enjoyable. The “pansexual” thing between him and his droid seemed more like a one-sided joke than anything serious. As for the droid itself going on about “droid rights,” we’ve seen similar themes in this game (Directive 7) without anti-SJW backlash. I think people are just upset because it’s Disney and Kennedy.

I’d recommend this movie. It doesn’t suffer from a lot of the things that people hated about TLJ. It was just a fun movie that had an interesting cameo, and actually fixed some plotholes with A New Hope and Empire. 🙂

              • Ben Gimson

I don’t think the droid rights thing is an issue for anyone, it’s more the unnecessary change to a well-established character from the OT for absolutely no good reason. I’m sure the film itself is fine.

              • Darth Ji’inx

It still seemed more like a joke to me. Based on what I saw in the movie, I could tell that Lando really cared for her, but I think anything romantic/sexual is a stretch. It’s the interviews with one of the writers and Glover that really play it up.

              • Ben Gimson

Watched it online last night. Seems like they tried to force it in as a serious thing when the droid was talking to Qi’ra in the cockpit. To be honest the droid added nothing to the film. Don’t see why they even included her in the first place.

              • Darth Ji’inx

That scene was what I was talking about. L3’s the one insisting that Lando wants her. To me, that came off as the delusional girl who always insists that all the guys are attracted to her even though she’s obviously out of their league.

Furthermore, if Lando “loves” her so much, then why would he want to wipe her memory to get rid of her annoying personality?

              • Ben Gimson

Felt to me like the memory wipe comment was in jest. Either way, the scene didn’t add anything to the film. It was a relief when the droid got shot. Such an annoying addition to an otherwise decent film.

              • Darth Ji’inx
              • Darth Ji’inx

Would you have preferred Jar Jar?

              • Ben Gimson

                Honestly? I’m not sure.

            • abaddonsmummy

The Pan sexual subject is very low profile imho, blink and you’ll miss it, you wouldn’t notice it apart from a few short comments he says to Han, but as Jinx and you say I think he’s just a player out to get what he can for his own ends.
Also I have to say it’s worth seeing it on the big screen, way better than TLJ imho, had more of a rogue1 feel.
And some great big screen set pieces that may be lost on your computer monitor.
              Just my opinion though.

            • biower pls

Because Kennedy and Disney care about one thing: money. It’s trendy to be “inclusive” and play the identity politics game *now*, at least according to Twitter. I think their problem may be forgoing actual market surveys in favor of online “influencing” and operating on the unproven assumption that the vocal minority pushing the so-called “SJW” agenda are representative of consumers in general, and what we want in our entertainment. Which may or may not come back and bite them in the ass, depending on how post-TLJ SW performs as a brand.

Whatever the case, they don’t give a shit if in ten years their works have been rendered a joke. If they alienate the traditional fanbase but make a quick buck in the process, that’s fine because megacorps mostly care about the next quarterly report, not what’s going to happen ten years down the line. The current CEO isn’t even planning on staying on board that long. They’ll find another intellectual property to purchase and bastardize, don’t you worry.

After realizing that I’ll never get back the two+ hours I spent watching TLJ illegally, I won’t even bother doing that with Yolo.

I know you’re not reading, Rian. But just in case: fuck you. 😉

            • Fred Garvin

              [OP is Fred G]

The OP’s post is about a comment Glover made and has nothing to do with the movie.

          • abaddonsmummy

If it wasn’t mentioned before the film I would barely have noticed it.
I think he made maybe 2 slightly gay comments that is all.
It wasn’t like he was oiled up frolicking with group of guys or anything. XD

            • Ben Gimson

That’s another side to my issue with the whole thing; if it’s totally irrelevant, then it’s just there to pander, not to add anything. It doesn’t help with representation because general audiences don’t know, and hardcore fans now have to accept that a long-standing character has been significantly changed because of (let’s face it) real-world politics.

Just seems like they’ve done nothing for anyone with this, in which case what was the point? And I’ve got dreams of being a published author one day, of a novel in which only one of the four main characters is heterosexual, so I’m really not against the whole inclusiveness thing- although I’ll never claim to care about all this modern gender-bending shite 😛

One of my two main RP characters in swtor is trans, in fact, albeit with a sci-fi twist, naturally. Just pisses me off when they arbitrarily stick these labels on well-established characters, all to appease a very vocal- but very tiny- group of people. Then everyone acts surprise when people who care about the franchise are rightly pissed off about it.

            • Darth Ji’inx

It seemed more like the droid thought he liked her, and they made jokes about it. No “agenda.”

          • Darth Ji’inx

I’m saying that it doesn’t necessarily contradict his character. If, on the other hand, it was stated that he ONLY liked women, then it would be a problem for sure. Again, I’m waiting to see how it’s handled before judging it.

      • Fred Garvin

        [OP is Fred G]

True fact: using the term SJW lowers the chance of what you’re saying being taken seriously by at least 75%.

I had planned on boycotting it myself because I thought TLJ was hot garbage but I saw it last night and it’s just a fun movie. Not great, not bad. Ehernreich is fine as Han (nobody is Harrison Ford except Harrison Ford) and Donald Glover was great as Lando. I’d put his portrayal up there with Karl Urban as McCoy in Star Trek. Not a caricature but mimics his predecessor very well.

        • abaddonsmummy

Hmmm I’m on the fence as Alden (I’m not even going to try his second name) as Han, it was ok, but a bit too cheesy for me, not the gritty street grifter that grew up in the slums of Corellia as it hinted at.
I didn’t think that much of Childish Gambino’s performance too, maybe more screen time would have helped and cemented it for me.
The stars for me were Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke, they really stood out, and lit up the screen along with many side roles like the amazing Thandie Newton as Val, and a few memorable aliens (no spoilers).
Good movie though, my expectations were really low, so was pleasantly surprised.
It had some fantastic and memorable set pieces, a few dull events, overall well worth the ticket price.
And one hell of a better movie than TLJ.
And spot on about the SJW thing.

          • Rompe Himself

Donald Glover is better in comedy (Community) then movies that don’t know what the hell they are trying to be like Solo. Plus, Donald Glover doesn’t have the acting chops like Chadwick Boseman or Chiwetel Ejiofor who either, would have been my pick for Solo.

            • abaddonsmummy

              Good call.

        • Shawn Hargrave

i demand to be taken seriously! lol

    • Adam Haynes

I read that it might actually be based on Paradise Snare which would be awesome and would make me actually go see it. If not it’s just another Disney Wars POS that I’ll file with High School Musical and other Disney crap in the “I’ll never see it” folder.

      • Ben Gimson

High School Musical is quality back the fuck down sir :O

        • Adam Haynes

          Hahaha!

      • Fred Garvin

        [OP is Fred G]

It is not based on Paradise Snare. It’s just an enjoyable side story, imo. Leaving TLJ, my friends and I stood in the parking lot discussing how it was trash for 30 minutes. Leaving this with the same people we basically were like, “Huh, that was pretty good. It’s nice to leave a Star Wars movie not wanting to strangle someone. Later!”

        • Adam Haynes

Bummer it’s not based on that trilogy since I did really like that one. Did they go with Chewie being rescued by Han from slavery and Han having been an imperial pilot and all that? I appreciate your feedback man!

          • Fred Garvin

            [OP is Fred G]

Yeah, Han rescues him (while saving himself as well) and he was in the Imperial…Navy? I can’t quite remember. I think when you rejoin him after he enlists he’s already been demoted to the front lines from piloting due to not being good at taking orders.

            • abaddonsmummy

Shame how they skipped over the Navy bit, that would have been interesting. The bit after when he met Chewie and Harerlsons character were brilliant though I thought.

            • Adam Haynes

Oh cool… ok so at least the fundamental parts of his character that were already established weren’t altered.

    • abaddonsmummy

Went to see it last night and place was nearly empty.
Either Star Wars overkill, bad trailers or Last Jedi rejection.
Or all of the above take your pick 🙂

      • Paulo Gomes

I’d pick the first and the last ones…

        • John Kosto

Yeap, the trailer is awesome, and I suspect the movie must be good too. I will also go see it, but I am not going to see Episode 9…

        • abaddonsmummy

We didn’t like the trailers, thought it looked underwhelming.
Imho the trailers didn’t do the film justice.

      • Don Loco

The Last Jedi pretty much killed all desire to see any more Star Wars movies. Say a lot when Han was my favorite character.

        • Shawn Hargrave

after tlj that was it for me no more star wars movies for me im a marvel man now there better movies anyways

“FREELANCE HUNTER’S ARMOR SET: NEW DIRECT SALE

    Available on May 25, 2018”

  • Paulo Gomes

And the news are out: the Boba Fett movie will be a reality.

I’m curious about this. Seems the guy that directed “Logan” will be directing this one. But Boba is a true test to what the people at Lucasfilm really know about Star Wars.

First: how are they going (if they are going) to inject some nonsense politics into this one? Boba secretly wants to be a woman? Bobina Fett loooooool?

He’s a freaking bounty hunter, a gun for hire. A bad ass among bad asses. THE baddest MF out there, even before Samuel L. Jackson.

Second: how are they going to set this up? Are we going to get a Mandalorian Boba? Or are they going to completely forget about that?

And lastly: for people that stated that for Star Wars to grow it had to change… C’mon, 4 movies into the Disney period, and apart from the trilogy we only had material set in the PAST! When people say that the Star Wars universe is limited and there’s only so much that can be done… that’s simply not true. And all you guys that play TOR know that for a fact. There’s simply so much that can be done. Why always go back to the past?

At least “Rogue One”, despite being set in the past, gave us some new characters. And it’s the best Disney movie of them all, excluding “Solo” that I haven’t watched of course.

Well, I know the answer to that one: money. Hollywood is all about recycling these days: sequels, reboots… Put your thinking hats on and give us something new. Some guy named George Lucas did exactly that, and look how that turned out…

It seems Discord is having some issues. Some of my posts went all strange last week, and Gau reported one of his comments a few days shit itself.

        • John Kosto

By Discord I assume you mean Dulfy 😛

          • Rompe Himself

Nah, I contacted Dulfy when it happened, and she said she didn’t ban my comments or do anything to my posts. The fix was for her to whitelist me on this site, so perhaps it is whoever hosts or whatever controls the connection between this site and Discord that allows us to comment via Discord??

      • abaddonsmummy

Shame, was a great post and a good talking point.

  • Paulo Gomes

And for another try… Second post…

Yes, the news are out. The Boba Fett movie will be a reality.

I’m curious about this. The guy that directed “Logan” will be at the helm.

But how are Disney going to spin this one?

First, are we going to have some nonsense politics? Is Boba secretly wishing to be a woman? A tragic story of Boba turning into Bobina? Looool…

Second, are we getting some insight into the Mandalorians? I seriously doubt that, but it would be VERY cool. Especially since I didn’t like the way Mandalorians were portrayed in “The Clone Wars…

And last: for people that defended that for Star Wars to grow it had to change… C’mon, it’s the 4th movie in the Disney era. All we are getting is characters from the past, situations set in the past. At least “Rogue One”, which I consider to be the best Disney-era movie (“Solo” doesn’t count, because I have yet to see it), had some new characters.

Hollyoowd is all about recycling these days: sequels, franchises, reboots… Put your thinking hats on and give us something new. Some guy named George Lucas did that, and look how it turned out…

    • Ben Gimson

Seems like Disney are terrified (or incapable) of doing something new. I mean Boba Fett is cool, but a movie about him? I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be good but is it going to add anything meaningful to the franchise? They should really do some new stuff with new characters instead of relying on nostalgia to get arses on seats.

      • Adam Haynes

I don’t mind nostalgia but they’re not even doing that… they’re writing these shitty screenplays that have nothing to do with the existing stories and back stories that made perfect sense. If you’re going to pull some new plot out of your ass why not just make it about something completely new and different so you don’t continue pissing off and alienating all of the EU novel readers?

        • Ben Gimson

I meant it seems like they’re staying firmly in familiar territory rather than adding something new, but yeah I hear you. Bad enough they took the EU, but to just make movies that retread ground we’ve already read about years ago is a bit meh. Feels like we’re treading water until they run out of OT era material to elaborate on.

Saying that, the main trilogy is pushing further into the future and they’ve made a fucking mess of that. Feels like Star Wars is fucked either way :/

    • Fred Garvin

      [OP is Fred G]

Except Lucas admits that Star Wars is his version of a Flash Gordon style serial since he couldn’t get the rights to FG. And early Hollywood was awash in sequels, reboots, and franchises during the studio contract era. This is nothing new; more of the latest wave that Hollywood is going through of it.

Frankly, I don’t want a Fett movie. The character has already been exposed too much and lost his cool mysterious factor Although one could argue Lucas contributed greatly to that with his lame death in RotJ…and I don’t care about any EU crap that says he survived…it’s on screen or it didn’t happen. Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Capt. Phasma. All three look cool standing there but they don’t really do shit and die like chumps.

      • Paulo Gomes

Well, yeah. If you wanna go down that road no one has done anything new since the Greeks, two thousand years ago. The hero’s journey, with trials and tribulations, overcoming difficulty to become better.

What George did was put his twist on millennia old archetype stories. The Force, lightsabers, and a whole new world to explore.

I’m on the fence with a Fett movie, to be honest. It all depends on how it’s treated. If we get an inside look at the Mandalorians it could be cool.

But somehow I seriously doubt that.

      • John Kosto

Boba Fett had a lame death in ROTJ, cause he was a nobody bounty hunter, who served as a minor plot device for ESB. Seriously, who cares about Boba Fett and why?

        • EyesOfGehenna .

Well as far as I know he wasn’t meant to be anything special but his character did strike a chord with many people. There is something about a free agent or mercenary with gadgets and guns that appeals to a lot of people.

But I remember that in Babylon 5 (sci-fi series from the 90s) the same happened to a minor character called Mr. Morden who became very popular much to the surprise of the show itself.

These things do happen and for all kinds of perhaps unexpected reasons.

        • Davrel Kex

I mean, a lot of people? Have you ever been to a SW con? lol

          • John Kosto

Who would have thought?! You go to a Star Wars comic con, and you actually see people dressed up as minor characters from the movies!!!

I got an idea. Let’s make a movie about Amidala. After all, I see thousands of Amidalas at comic cons, so that’s a good enough reason, right? And then lets make a movie about C3PO and one about R2D2.

            • Rompe Himself

Or a movie about Jawa’s. Plenty of them at cons too. 😛

        • HMH

Boba Fett was left for dead magnetized to a wall in his first appearance ever in the russ manning comic strips, since then he has died or been left for dead several times, not just in RotJ.

It would be super cool if, since they just gotta make this movie I guess, they continued this tradition but since Im the only one I ever see mentioning it or pointing it out…

      • Guest

        you forgot Darth Maul 😉

        • EyesOfGehenna .

No he didn’t, cause it’s canon that maul survived. And as for Fred’s comment, we don’t know if Phasma is actually dead.

          • Don Loco

If so what a waste of a character. Didn’t think anything of her until I read the book Phasma but oh if they would stay true to that! In the book she is a ruthless bad ass who will stop at nothing to win. Yet another lame part of TLJ.

            • Fred Garvin

              [OP is Fred G]

Any why didn’t they at least go with that deleted scene from the Blu-ray?? Such a better one than what’s in the movie.

And in Phasma’s case, unlike Boba Fett, you have a great actor who was totally wasted. I was so happy when she was cast. Sigh….

          • Fred Garvin

            [OP is Fred G]

She might as well be for how underutilized she is. If they bring her back again she’ll probably just be hit by a speeder as she’s walking in the background.

Hes died twice in the new cannon already – its a slipery slope. Like the old cannon bringing dead characters back over and over.

          • Rompe Himself

She may as well be. She has been buried twice now in two movies straight. I honestly do not see the point of having Phasma in the movie.

        • Fred Garvin

          [OP is Fred G]

Nah. Maul not only came back on screen in Clone Wars; he was also in what is one of the best Star Wars story arcs ever as he consolitdates crime syndicates and ended with one of the best lightsaber duels of the franchise (Maul and Savage Oppress vs Darth Sidious.)

      • Davrel Kex

        1. I don’t agree – of the characters listed, Jango actually did a lot. He fought Obi-Wan to essentially a draw in one of the coolest fight scenes in the saga, he killed a Jedi Master on-screen on Geonosis. The character definately pulled his cinematic weight.

        2. Yes the RotJ “death” hurt Boba’s image a lot. That’s sort of the point of having a Fett movie imo – to move past that blemish and show the character as the badass he was intended to be. You said it yourself – “on screen or it didn’t happen”. What better way to bring him out than in he movie?

    • John Kosto

Screw that. There might a cult following of Boba Fett across super nerd fans of Star Wars (I am convinces some of them claim they like Boba Fett just to be different) but in reality this character is NOTHING in the official canon universe.

The only part where his existence mattered, was the old Expanded Universe, and even there, he was poorly written in many novels (for example all the Karen Traviss novels, she had a real hard on for Mandalorians and presented them as the most absolute and noble clan of honor in the galaxy, meh) so I am really wondering…. who wants to see a whole movies of Boba Fett and his back story?

If anything, the Mandalorians in Clone Wars and Rebels were presented much much better, I don’t know why you didn’t like that. Darksaber was an absolutely amazing episode.

      • Paulo Gomes

I would agree with you. Fett is more of a footnote. I don’t really think a movie about him is justified.

Just… Why do they keep going back to decades old characters? There is so much you could do. Even with old characters. What about a movie depicting the adventures of the Jedi Council in the prequels? You know, those Jedi Masters that sat on their asses all day, meditating? That can’t be ALL they did, right? Seems to me a lot more exciting.

The “Clone Wars” thing… I just didn’t like the way they set that up. Mandalorians trying to be peaceful? It didn’t work for me. I can’t say it was badly done. Just not the take I wanted to see. Still WAY better than TLJ.

While Logan was a fantastic movie, having James Mangold on the Boba movie (and “The Force” whatever the hell that is going to be about) guarantees nothing. Firstly, he has a mixed bag of hits and misses when it comes to his movies:

      https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/james_mangold

And secondly, there is no doubt that “Logan” being rated R (or whatever you call it overseas, we call it Rated R here in Australia) helped him in making the movie. Good example is the previous Wolverine movie, which he also directed (The Wolverine) and how it was PG and in comparison, terrible (Power Suit Silver Samurai ffs). That movie could have been much better had he been allowed to go better then PG in all things Wolverine, because lets face it, Wolverine is not a PG character. He needs to be in Rated R movies to fully be what he is as per the comics. Putting that into perspective, James Mangold will be handcuffed to what Disney want the Boba movie to be about and portrayed, and after seeing what they did with Lando and Han, it is a safe bet to say they will castrate Boba. So expect it to be more Solo (Disney changing shit to suit their agenda) then Rogue One (Which Disney left mostly untouched to the actual lore).

      • abaddonsmummy

I feel Rotten Tomatoes scores are sometimes not the best measure of a Directors ability to make their next film good.
        Just ahem…..leaving this here….
        https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/1167238-rian_johnson
        XD

        • Rompe Himself

You cannot fault Rottentomatoes for that. They can only aggregate the average score based on the movie reviews out there. They are not deciding the final average score. Plus, it helps that Rian Johnson has only done a mere handful (3 movies he directed) of movies in the 9-10 years he started directing. One of them being Star Wars, which by virtue of being Star Wars, practically guarantees it will rate over 50% already, even if it is shit (like Episode 1 which scored 55% despite how god fucking terrible it was).

    • HMH

Am I the only one that finds that Mandalorian armor in Drydens ship super ominous?

I can see it now, Qi’ra’s going to kill Boba and pull a Jodo Kast (diversity inclusion version)

  • Adam Haynes

So did TOR ever say they were extending the double cxp for a day to make up for the 24 hour delay or are they just giving their customers the finger again like last time?

    • Frigi

“We know that double XP (and all events) are very important and losing a full day of it sucks. Even though we can’t extend it here, I’ll talk with the team about getting double XP back sooner than later, or extending our next instance of the event.”

      As per: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9602872&postcount=78

I guess anyone can decide for themselves whether to consider this a “finger” or not.

      • Don Loco

As always Bioware gives it’s player base the finger when possible.

      • Adam Haynes

Appreciate the reply, I never saw this official answer from Musco. I would say it isn’t getting the finger yet again except that history has a habit of repeating itself and they’ll schedule the extended “makeup” event for when I’m on vacation or working an 80 hour week or something. Last year they botched a double cxp event and just “did it a week later” instead… when I happened to be in Japan. That was a week of “0” cxp thanks to their screwup and another hearty “suck on this” aimed at a paying customer. It’s not like I want anything special, just no failures for a change. I don’t fail at work, why is it such a challenge for this crew?

    • AsSeenOnTv

They aren’t extending it because according to Eric it would take a patch of the game on our side to do so.

      • Adam Haynes

Perfect… being it was a patch that lost us the original day of 2xp I could imagine them trying to facilitate this on Thursday and not only failing but losing us the Thursday 2xp as well. In retrospect I guess we’re better off. Pretty sad when you have to look to an instance of non failure from a product you pay for to be inspired to maintain your status as a customer.

  • Don Loco

To all the people freaking out/having a fit about Lando being pansexual, you obviously have not payed the SLIGHTEST attention to the history of Hollywood. Just because the straight laced didn’t want to see such things does not mean it didn’t happen. Well over half of the actors/actresses in Hollywood were at best bi when not actually gay. Do yourselves a favor and get over it. Just because you are straight and don’t like something doesn’t mean no one else does nor does it mean all should be as you wish it. Hollywood has done that for over a century, long past due for a change.

    • Rompe Himself

With all due respect, what the hell does the history of Hollywood or how it operates, have to do with the lore and history of established characters in an established franchise such as Star Wars? I personally couldn’t give two shits if Lando is straight, gay, pan or fucks people who identify themselves as Apache Helicopters. I think the issue is more that Disney is changing shit in Star Wars to suit their view on things, instead of accepting the history of the franchise they bought (Perfect example – TLJ). Food for thought.

      • Don Loco

The history of Hollywood is full of opression. Be it against people of color or people with different sexual orientations it has always been there. Disney is going all out to put that right. Do I agree with the stupidity they have passed off as good Star Wars movies? No but I look at the wasted talent, wasted money and time with beyond stupid plot lines that do nothing to forward the movie. Does it upset me someone that I thought might be a smooth player back in the day is open to more than just women? Also no. To each their own but understand that the mountain of purely straight, white hero movies are pretty much becoming a thing of the past. If people like it or not, diversity is coming to the world.

        • Rompe Himself

“Disney is going all out to put that right.”

Hate to tell you, but Disney IS also a big believer in oppression, especially to their theme park workers:

          http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-dreier-flaming-disneyland-employee-survey-20180228-story.html

Disney may be including more diversity, but it isn’t for any righteous reason as you appear to suggest. They are doing it because they realize you catch more types of fish if you use a bigger net that caters to more then just one type, and that means more $$$$$$$. Just like Hollywood – it always comes back to money.

          • Don Loco

Seriously. As if I thought Disney would so otherwise? I know why they are doing it but it doesn’t change the fact they are making this happen. Don’t like it, don’t watch the movies. I have no desire to see another single movie in this series anymore, none and I have been a huge fan since I was seven. Strangely though, it has nothing to do with anyones sexuality.

            • Rompe Himself

It isn’t just Disney doing it. It is the new “IT” thing to do in Hollywood now they discovered they can make more money by adding things (more women, more sexuality types, more racial types, more whatever etc) to movies and tv shows then before, while pretending it is all about diversity or pretending it is feminism (their version – not the real, original feminism that women in the 60’s fought for). Or they just reboot established movies and change it all and call anyone who hates it a hater or sexist/racist.

It is why we got an all female Ghostbusters that nobody asked for (and my god, was that a terrible movie on all fronts).

It is why we are getting an all female Oceans Eleven movie that nobody asked for.

And it is why they are changing elements of Star Wars to suit this new ideal, when it wasn’t needed. It is just so they can feed the new “IT” thing in Hollywood, while making more money.

When it is done piss poorly as most of them are, it looks bad and generates negativity, mostly because they want to make it an issue and bring attention to the change (“HEY LOOK!!! LANDO IS PANSEXUAL, AREN’T WE DIVERSE HERE AT DISNEY???”), rather then just either make the change crucial to the movie or have some meaningful impact. It is all just paid lip service – the Hollywood/Disney equivalent of people who “Like” causes or charities on Facebook or social media, but don’t do anything more then that.

On the flip side, I would also have an issue if Hollywood went and did a reboot of Aliens and made Ripley a male. It isn’t about diversity (though Hollywood and the media wants to play that card hard). It is about the laziness of Disney, Hollywood and others in taking what is established, and rather then make something new like what Peter Jackson did in the Hobbit movies in creating the Tauriel character (that never existed in the book), just taking established characters and their lore and changing it to suit their agenda. Another good example is Michael Bay hijacking the Transformers franchise so he could make Bayformers explosion porn.

But when Diversity is done right, it is seamless, like in Rogue One, where there were female combat pilots (But no attention was drawn to it), females on the front line (no attention drawn to it), the Rogue One team was a mix of different nationalities – At no time did any of these changes be made into an issue or to advertise it (Oh look, we have a British/Pakistani, a Mexican, a Chinese as well as a legend from Hong Kong – Donnie Yen), it can be diverse without being up its own ass.

Another good example is the reboot of Battlestar Galatica – making a female Starbuck. At no time in the 4 seasons did Starbuck being female become an issue where they wanted it to stand out for her being female. Starbuck in the reboot if anything was more gung ho and reckless then the male Starbuck from the original series, and more damaged mentally which was great. But not because she was female, because that is how they made this Starbuck character in the reboot be, who just happened to be female. That is how you add diversity in movies without being stuck up like the latest bunch of movies that change established content, just so they can kiss their own asses and be proud of it, under the guise of “diversity”, when it is really all about more $$$$$ to the sheep who fall for the diversity lie.

              • Don Loco

Wow I forget the mentality that says women can be seen but heaven forbid they be cast in positions of authority/power/upstaging men situations. As long as they are there for you to look at but not have to worry about them being a more powerful figure than the man all is good. We will just agree to disagree. I cannot change such a mindset, only you could do that. Having read what you wrote, I don’t see that ever happening.

              • Rompe Himself

                WHAT….THE….FUCK????

How the fuck did you even get that from what I wrote??? I clearly stated
I couldn’t give a shit if they want to add more diversity and make
changes to established lore (e.g. Starbuck), as long as it is done right
(Rogue One), not what we are seeing of late in movies, which is just
                lip service. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images

              • Don Loco

Guess I’m just seeing things. How weird. Have a nice day Rompe, this seems to be a issue we wont agree on.

              • Rompe Himself

Yup, you did see what your predetermined agenda wanted you to see –
aka anyone with a differing view to what your OP states is sexist. The
issue is not as black and white as you think.

                I will put it to
you this way: DID WE NEED AN ALL FEMALE GHOSTBUSTERS MOVIE THAT IS A
PALE, PISS POOR COPY OF THE ORIGINAL? The answer is a resounding NO.

                The
old saying “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”, deftly applies here.
Hollywood just doesn’t understand that some movies were lightning in a
bottle at the time it was made. Other movies were just masterclasses in
movie perfection (Seven Samurai, Godfather, Raging Bull) that could
                never be bettered.

In saying that, if Ghostbusters redux had to be born, would it have been cool if Hollywood gave us a fresh take on the
Ghostbusters franchise involving 4 women this time round that wasn’t
banking on nostalgia and piss poor imitations of the original
characters? Depends on who you ask. But that is not what we got.

                The
2016, all female version of Ghostbusters WAS Shit – and it wasn’t
because it was an all female cast. It was because the script was fucking
awful, the jokes were just as bad, and the so called comedians in that
movie not named Kate McKinnon are shit. But even Kate McKinnon (Which
was partly the reason I watched it, the other being I love the
Ghostbusters franchise) was awful and that says something. I like her
stuff. Her Jeff Sessions impersonation = perfection.

                If they
insisted on making a rebooted Ghostbusters where they are all female and
wanted GOOD female comedians in the roles (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen
Wiig and Leslie Jones are just god awful choices), where the fuck was
Ali Wong?? She would have shit on the whole cast and maybe even saved
the movie from itself and its god awful script. Why did the sole black
character in the movie played by Leslie Jones, have to be a stereotype
loud, obnoxious black woman?? Why couldn’t have they made the black
character a brilliant scientist, instead of a nobody who works in a New
York subway train station ticket booth who loves acting all loud and
cliched?? They made Kate McKinnons character a pale imitation of
Spengler from the original, and there is only one Harold Ramis. Why not
let Kate McKinnon who is fantastic in coming up with characters, come up
with a new type of member in the team?

But here is the point you
are missing: WHY did a movie like an all female Ghostbusters need to be
made? The original franchise was 4 guys and the franchise is well loved
AS IS. If they insisted on milking the franchise, Why didn’t they make
all new characters that do NOT resemble in anyway the original cast?
When the movie came out, the cast INSISTED that their movie was not a
copy of the original, yet here we are. The cast of 2016 were piss poor
copies or slight alterations of the original characters. That is the
crux of the point I make. It isn’t that it was played by women, the
point is the same issue I have with all reboots and that is that it is
very rare for a reboot, whether to be diverse or to cash in on a well
known franchise or movie, to be actually good. For every reboot like IT
that shits on the original, we have countless reboots that don’t even
stand in the shadow of the originals.

                Hollywood wants to make
these reboots no one asked for? Fine. Hollywood wants to make in some
instances, these reboots be different in one single aspect (E.G. Once
male, now all female Ghostbusters)? Fine. But for fucks sake, make them
good if you are going to hijack established content and change it in
whatever way. Making these movies and adding things into it just so you
can make an issue of it (Lando being pansexual) will just be detrimental
in the long run on what could and should be an otherwise noble idea of
adding more depth to the movies we all get.

Oh and have a nice day too Don Loco. 🙂

              • Don Loco

You say my agenda but as I don’t have one that is just confusing. I get your point, far better than you know. So glad you have all the answers.

              • Fred Garvin

Since you’re talking about the new GB so much, I don’t think the cast had anything to do with why the new Ghostbusters was bad. At no point in the movie did they point out they were all women or make a thing out of it; they just were women (which was too much for some knuckledraggers.) Now for sure that movie sucked but It was written poorly and directed poorly by Paul Feig who is a hack who couldn’t direct a dog to a beef sandwich laying in the middle of an empty room. For the life of me I can’t figure out why the original cast had the lame ass cameos they did. I didn’t want them as the leads again as they’re too old and Ramis was gone but they could’ve done a nice transition or something especially since they used the same building, car, etc. Made no sense until you hear an interview with Feig and you wonder how he gets up every morning without tripping over his ego and incompetence.

I must say that I also don’t hold the original in the highest of regards. It’s good but I find Bill Murray, who I usually love, to be creepy and childish to the point of annoyance. It also has a hack director in Ivan Reitman. Name one good movie that guy made that doesn’t have Harold Ramis attached to it. You can’t. GB was what it was because of great special effects, a kick ass song, and some genuinely fun situations which rose it above some of the inaneness.

And speaking of Ivan Reitman, that brings us to the REAL Ghostbusters remake that people should be ranting about: 2001’s Evolution. What a pile of dog shit that thing is. Directed by Reitman desperately trying to rip off GB and recreate an earlier success. Even the ads tried ripping off the GB art style with the dumbass three-eyed smiley face on a black background and no other info just like GB originally just showed the “no-ghost” symbol. Scenes in the movie were direct rip-offs from GB too. Damn, I hate that movie. There’s a scene where they run up to talk to some asswipe about why they should be listened to and it was just like when the GB go to talk to the mayor. Fucking Reitman.

Actually, Ghostbusters 2 deserves some hate as well. Abysmal trash. I’d watch the 2016 GB over that thing any day.

Thanks, Rompe! I haven’t hated on Evolution in a long time…lol.

              • Rompe Himself

I cannot begin to put into words, how much I loved reading this GB hate rant, and I mean it. I wish I could upvote you x 9000!!! 😀

              • Paulo Gomes

                Wow…

Where did that come from? Have you been out and about in the last 20 years or so? There are many women doing great performances in places of authority.

Look: you say things are changing. Are they? I’ve been a professional musician for more than 20 years. I’ve come to work and observe a large variety of people from different sexes, sexual orientations and nationalities of an absolute amazing quality. I count many young women as students in the music school I tend classes. As I’m writing this a woman is in charge of Lucasfilm, and sadly not doing a great job.

For me as a guitar player and teacher, the most awesome guitarist to ever walk the Earth was black. His name was Jimi Hendrix. My all-time favourite singer was openly gay, and sang in an obscure band called “Queen”.

Are things really changing? Or is it our perception of things that is being changed by the media?

I watched “Black Panther”. I’m sorry, but it was a mediocre movie. So it has an almost all black cast. Big deal. And no, I’m not a white privileged male. I’m a half black guy. And I don’t hate either my father or my mother. But yet it is said to be the most important movie for the black community… Ok, if blacks want to set their standards so low have at it.

But the media won’t teach me or tell me what to think. I’m my own man, not a part of a creed. That’s very dangerous thinking. And it has led to many wars in the past.

Let’s hope we learned from our past, and don’t repeat the same mistakes…

              • gua543

I know we’ve had our (radical) differences over TOR and how Bioware treats it, but I can agree with you completely here. Making a character’s defining trait it’s gender or sexuality is simply poor character writing.

              • Rompe Himself

Hey don’t get me wrong Gua, just because we disagreed on one topic, does not make me think less of you. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. We didn’t agree on one thing? Fine, plenty of other things I am sure we can agree on.

Witty but creepy GIF time 😉

OMFG! “Battlestar Galactica”. How more people don’t revere that series is absolutely beyond me.

The problem is not what sex is in the lead. The problem is QUALITY. Make good quality shit and I won’t care if the lead or the cast is male or not.

          • Paulo Gomes

            Read above.

        • Paulo Gomes

Ok, I’ll roll with that. I’ll play that game.

If what you say is indeed true, I want to go full on.

Let’s see Disney make a movie about a transgender princess falling in love with a pansexual black knight on a pink horse (you can’t have white, now can you???).

Let’s see Disney come out and say that Snow White was actually Asian and a lesbian.

Let’s see Disney come out and say that Thor is secretly in love with the Hulk. That Spider-Man wants to be a woman, and Captain America is gay.

Shit, let’s throw the kitchen sink in there! Mickey Mouse is gay! And Donald Duck is a privileged white man… I mean, duck that sexually exploits his nephews!!!

No??? I mean, does that not “endorse diversity”??? I wanna see that. More: I want YOU to want to see that. Let’s be absolutely precise: THAT’S a more diverse Disney, don’t you think?

But hey, until I see that I cannot claim that “Disney is at the forefront of the diversity movement”. Because Disney is a lot more than Star Wars.

Until that day… Keep your identity politics the fuck away from my Star Wars movies, Disney.

          Please.

          • HMH

Pretty sure Buck and Cap already got something going on off camera.

          • abaddonsmummy

Did they not just recently announce that in the new Beauty and the Beast remake, that one of the main characters is now gay?
            Watch this Space.

            • Paulo Gomes

Well, good then! That shows consistency. Not that I personally agree with it, but if that’s the take they want to make more power to them.

The same thing happened with “Black Panther”. I had already commented on that, but it disappeared.

“Black Panther” was a mediocre movie. At best. Yet the media made us believe it was THE most important thing for black people since Martin Luther King.

I’m sorry, but if a pop-corn, mediocre movie is so important for a whole race of people… We gotta check our priorities, because something is definitely off here.

              • abaddonsmummy

Yeah I agree, there are a few issues that worry me about that situation.
In a perfect world actors and actresses would be picked for their acting ability, not the colour of their skin, what they get up to in the bedroom and whats down the front of their pants.
But I think we’re far from that still.
The danger however is to create a false reality where we are making film’s JUST for that race/minority/gender/persuasion rather than making movies because they’re good.
                That’s a slippery slope my friend 🙂

            • Darth Gnaw

Yes. Near the end of the B&B remake, Lefou (the little fat guy that follows Gaston around) has a love at first site moment with a dude dressed like a lady. It goes by in two blinks but it is there and leaves you to assume that he was gay for Gaston as well.

      • abaddonsmummy

I think sadly they’re doing for the headlines it brings.

    • John Kosto

I could care less about the sexuality of Lando. Saying that more than half of the actors are bi or gay is stretching very far. I personally don’t have any issues with how they show Lando in the movie.

But Disney is not fixing anything, and is not making anything right. The crap that we saw in TLJ angered even people with liberal views, such as myself. Star Wars is not the place to protest everything that is wrong in our society, let alone do it in the most horrible way (as in TLJ).

I appreciate the intention, but the execution was poor.

      • Don Loco

You seem to be in the minority on his sexuality then John. TLJ was a horrible joke from start to finish, any messages they tried to put into it were lost in the hot mess. All I am saying is things are changing, Disney (for good or ill) is in the forefront of introducing said change. The gods forbid people try to make things better and give more representation to all. Bash them for fucking up a wonderful movie line with shitting directing and horrible story lines by all means. Those freaking out over a characters sexuality really need to take a closer look at their lives.

        • Paulo Gomes

But how does making more representation make “things better”?

Is Lando apparently being pansexual going to make things better for pansexual people? I fail to see exactly how.

Representation is a fool’s game. Who decides about that? What are the parameters?

Let’s say we want more Asian people in movies. Fine, I’m ok with that. As I am with any attempt for a fairer society.

But then the real head games start. Are you going to put ALL Asian people in the same bag? Because, you know, Japanese people are nothing like Chinese people. Or Korean, for that matter.

What about black people? African-Americans are nothing like native Africans. Even in Africa you have a wide range of ethnicity. A Northern African is nothing like a South African. And then we have Cabo Verde, home to my mother. The islander Africans are NOTHING like the rest of Africans all over the world. Believe me, this I KNOW.

So starts the fool’s game. There are even women that are left politically oriented, let’s use “feminists”, that are being singled out in social media for being WHITE privileged feminists. It’s fucking insane! And it’s a fool’s errand to try and quantify AND qualify all the variants. It’s impossible.

And more importantly: NO ONE has ever made the case of EXACTLY HOW this will contribute to a better society.

All the evidence I see around me points exactly in the opposite direction…

    • abaddonsmummy

To me it’s not about Lando’s sexuality, it so subtle in the film to be non-existent. And I don’t care what he is tbh, it’s irrelevant.
I asked my 3 kids whom I took to see the film and if they noticed anything about Lando that stood out.
My kids are between 9 and 13.
My 9 year old said was it that he was black?
When I mentioned about his sexuality (they get taught this at school, they know more about it than me and keep me up to date on all the changes out there) and they were absolutely none this wiser.
They never even picked up on it.
So if that’s the case why did Disney even make this statement highlighting it if not for PR.
I don’t think Disney for a second are doing this for the Gay/Bi/Trans community, but instead for the headlines it brings.
I think the bigger issue is like my youngest son said, black characters are still not represented well enough in the Star Wars Franchise.
Plenty Aliens but only one black actor? :/
Anyway just my two cents worth, don’t want to start a bigger war :).

      • guest

yeah the only sexual thing that was odd about him that stood out was i was starting to wonder if L3 was his “droid with benefits”

        • abaddonsmummy

Exactly, but it never elaborated on that, so I was sat through the film waiting for it to arise and it never really did.

        • Darth Gnaw

Yeah, that droid kinda creeped me out.
Plus, by naming it “L337” they are doing the same BS that they did with promoting Capt Phasma as “The next Boba Fett”, telling the audience “this character is cool” instead of letting them decide for themselves.

    • Fred Garvin

      [OP is Fred G]

They also obviously haven’t seen the damn movie because he openly flirts with only two people (so briefly you could miss it, during each of the sabaac games) and they are both women. This is the same stupidness of people being upset that Dumbledore is gay. It’s not like he was running around hitting on other professors in every scene, It just was who he is.

He cares for the droid no differently than Luke cares for R2 or Chewie showed sadness over 3PO in Empire, or Poe gets excited over seeing BB8. Now the droid is a loose cannon and thinks Lando likes her intimately but she says she something like she won’t go there (confirming Lando isn’t using her as a sex toy) and the lines are delivered perfectly. I thought it was funny.

  • EyesOfGehenna .

So, how about this game called SWTOR…anything to say about that? No? Ok.

    • Don Loco

Sadly there isn’t much to say about that thing anymore unless of course you fancy some Cartel Market Content (TM)

      • EyesOfGehenna .

I’ve said it many times on the forums but the problem with the CM, especially the cartel packs is that it started taking the place of actual content. Easy money for low effort. That’s why I stopped buying the packs long before I quit playing the game eventually. I mean I wish I could like the game because it was good for a long time, but it’s just not what it was anymore.

    • Rompe Himself

Even more sad when you scoot over to Dulfy’s GW2 section and see how much more content a B2P game like Guild Wars 2 is getting, but this game struggles despite the subs and Cartel Whales to deliver any meaningful content or events that isn’t recycled.

      • Don Loco

Which is really sad as Bioware had the largest IP at their fingers and totally fucked it up. That they managed to do that was amazing in all the wrong ways.

        • Rompe Himself

I think Disney wants Papa EA and EAWare to hold its Chardonnay, and wants to show them how to TRULY fuck the biggest IP up with the TFA/TLJ.

          • Don Loco

Already did that with TLJ. I was a diehard Star Wars fan, even loved the prequels as they fleshed out the Vader story a bit more. Zero interest in seeing one more after watching the horror show that was TLJ.

            • EyesOfGehenna .

Well, I couldn’t stand the prequels, especially the first and I like the new movies better….funny how that goes, but there it is. Now even though I do like the new movies I will say that I’m not sure why Disney went the way they did. I do get that it didn’t work for a lot of people and I think they knew that.

I’m just lucky that I liked TLJ so I don’t have to feel bad towards Star Wars but can still enjoy it. I still don’t like the prequels but I’ve learned to live with that 🙂

      • abaddonsmummy

I’ve played GW2, had a few lvl 80 alts, and it’s excellent, beautifully crafted and well supported by it’s dev’s. Shame for me it’s fantasy, I’m kinda sick of it after playing those type of games for so long. 🙁

        • Don Loco

Did that game live up to the hype? My son has been wanting to check it out but not so sure due to what we’ve gone through here with SWTOR. Thoughts?

          • abaddonsmummy

It’s a cracking deep game, does most things right.
One of the few things I didn’t like was the lack of class abilities, but it gives you the option to change weapon in-battle and give you some different options, but if I remember its only 4 per weapon, so it got a little bit repetitive in longer battles.
But that was a minor flaw, character creation is to die for, range of classes is superb and the races are really cool too.
Lot’s of cool mechanics, like as soon as you walk into an area you automatically get the quest, and it informs you of nearby player events like taking down a boss.
I haven’t played in years so I’m sure there’s lot’s of cool changes too.
Oh and the mounts are amazing AND you can dye them.
I preferred it over Lotro and Wow, and if I was to go fantasy again, GW2 would be the game. 🙂

            • Don Loco

Good deal and thank you. I tried many times to get into WoW but it never clicked for me. SWTOR was his first choice of games but after hearing me and seeing what a joke this has become he changed his mind. I told him not to judge it on my experience and to try it and see but in his words…”It would be great for about the first two weeks, then I would be bored. No thanks.”

              • EyesOfGehenna .

Well I’m an altoholic generally and in GW2 I had trouble getting two characters to maximum level…it just got boring too quickly for me.

I also don’t like that’s basically one big farm game in the end and it’s mostly about repeating the same events over and over again running around like headless chickens.

I’m not saying the other guy is wrong about his experience with GW2 but I also think it’s not representative of everyone either. I definitely prefer GW1 over GW2 even in its current state though I wouldn’t recommend it for new players as it is dated.

Just to give you a different point of view. Some people love it, others not so much. He’s going to have to figure that one out on his own.

              • abaddonsmummy

Agreed, always good to have alternative viewpoints 🙂

              • Don Loco

Thank you as well for the input, always good to have multiple sources.

          • Lucy Cooper

If you wish to play a fantasy MMO I’d suggest going for either GW2 or ESO. Both are pretty great. I’ve however spent far less time in GW2 than I have in ESO so I can’t give you too much info on it.

As for ESO, the great thing about it is that yes, you do have a relatively small ability bar, but true to Elder Scrolls games you’re not bound to a single set of weapons and armour because you’re a certain class.

The dye system is pretty great too, allowing you to even dye your weapons. Also, unlike in swtor where you constantly have to buy dyes, in ESO they stay unlocked permanently per account per server.

ps. stealing is actually a decent way to get good gear cx just dont get caught

    • Andryah

      Hi, Andryah here.
SWTOR is wonderful, all games have their flaws but SWTOR is near perfection.
Anyone that says anything negative is just a hater and should leave.
I don’t PVP because my ego hates it when someone better than me kills me.
I take noobs through all PVE content because the game is 6 years old and I’ve done everything 10’000 times so I think I’m totally awesome.
I love the fact Bioware barely release new content because then I don’t need to learn anything new and be shown to my guildies for what I am, A TOTAL CUNT.
Last thing I want to do is go play another game because then I would become the noob.
Long live SWTOR and long live my fragile ego.

      P.S. I really am a cunt.

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Hahaha, no worries…I remember you from the swtor forums and we butted heads regularly but that’s all good. This was definitely funny and I have no problem with you being a c*nt 😉

  • Fubarz

Well at least in SWTOR as far as star wars go. You can be a ruthless Jedi to honorable protective Sith, and it matters not about gender, race, species. As you are the hero/ villain in the story line you wish to run. Free to be what ever you want to be in that story line. Then you get the rpers that make up their own story lines in the game Just be happy playing what you wish to be is all

    • Eban

Until everyone is forced to become The Outlander and completely break immersion with your character because you’re made to do and say things your toon would never say or do.

      • abaddonsmummy

        Good point.
And that’s why I only ever took 2 toons through that farce. 🙂

      • Fubarz

You still chose to play that story line…. For me doing pvp, lvling is the most fun right now

        • Eban

Yeah I choosed to attempt to play through those story lines twice, once dark side and once light side and neither made sense.
Ended up quiting both times (at different points), never made it to the end.
          Worst story writing ever.
Looking back at the story writing for the agent class and then that mess of KOTFE/KOTET, it’s staggering the gulf of difference in quality.

          • Marrks

going to zakuul as a non force user has no sence since the beginning

  • CRYPT from CATACOMBZ

I must really laugh 😀 Just wonder when this game will be shout down

    • Fubarz

Shout down? Hmm… that is a new way to look at it

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Yeah when social media complains enough causing a game to close down, it’s called a shout down.

Not really but it seemed like a legit explanation 😉

        • Fred Garvin

          [OP is Fred G]

You would think SWTOR would’ve been shouted down long ago…lol.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

Hah, well it’s pretty close I’d say. I bet this game doesn’t have 5% left of the original player base but the cartel market keeps the wheels turning I suppose

            • Mark Fair

New expansion is coming the game is NOT getting shut down.

              • EyesOfGehenna .

I didn’t say it was shutting down. As long as the people who are left keep spending enough in the cartel market, the game will survive.

But anyone with a bit of a sense of history and basic math skills can figure out that a game that started with 200 servers and now has 5 left of which only two are decently populated is not doing as well as perhaps it should.

Not to mention that 6.0 is coming out next year which is the longest wait between expansions so far. So as long as people are happy to pay subs, pay for overpriced cartel stuff and accept a slow trickle of content, the game can go on for quite a long time still.

It’s just not good enough for me anymore and well most people apparently. But I wish you many years in SWTOR still.

  • Paulo Gomes

Well, my posts keep disappearing. Don’t know why, don’t know how. I don’t delete them, if I did there would be a “this comment was deleted” thingy.

What is the problem? does anyone know? I think other people are having problems, and I can’t seem to be able to stay logged in to my account. I log in, go do something else, return to this site later and I’m logged out.

It seems to be a Disqus problem, not a Dulfy problem. But it’s really annoying, and it prevents conversations from developing.

I may simply stop commenting, at least until this problem goes away.

On the upside: it seems not only BW have problems with bugs, hey? 😉

    • abaddonsmummy

I’ve had the same issue with getting logged out constantly and it started when I approved the new Disqus GDPR statement.
Look like it might have some bugs in it now.
      Thanks Brussels 🙂

    • Shawn Hargrave

its an issue with posting on your phone and your pc at least for me ive gotten use to it lol not sure how to fix it i also get randomly logged oout of here onto other accounts not sure how to fix either

    • Rompe Himself

Send an email to Dulfy. When it happened to me, some posts were marked either as spam or disappeared. I assumed it was some crybaby here reporting my posts, but now you guys having the same issue, perhaps it is a technical issue. Dulfy whitelisted me and now I have no issues. So send her an email.

“Solo” movie bombed. SWTOR will be shut down in a matter of week(s).

    • gua543

It seems unlikely the game and movie development to be connected. I’m thinking that maybe they’re gonna stop doing these weird spin-offs and trying to copy Marvel’s formula of 2-3 movies per year.

      • EyesOfGehenna .

The things is that Solo is actually a really great movie. The Han Solo character is treated well and in this movie finally he shoots first so if anything it restores the Han Solo character.

But it’s hard to tell what Disney are trying to do. I did enjoy TLJ but I also understand why a lot of people didn’t. They must’ve known that and still they persist. Some may say that they have an agenda but if there’s anything Disney tends to care about it’s making money. If they’d chosen the easier path with the story then people like myself would also be happy with the others that now hate it. Luckily Solo doesn’t have that problem but it may well suffer from the backlash of TLJ.

Where Star Wars is having issues I think is that it’s based on a movie from the 70s originally where advanced space age technology looked very different than today. So people still see it as Sci-Fi even though it’s really fantasy in space. But with indeed marvel and transformers and all those high tech movies out there, Star Wars is a bit of a strange thing in there.

I wonder what would happen if they reimagined Star Wars with a new story from scratch but with the futuristic tech that you’d expect in a sci-fi movie today…

New expansion? Source? Because the roadmap pretty much confirmed there’s no new xpac this year.

        • Mark Fair

Check last live stream or any youtuber that covers SWTOR.

          • Ben Gimson

Nothing new there. ‘Expansion is coming but we’re not saying when’, and the roadmap heavily implied it won’t be this year. Hardly seems like it’s ‘coming’ to me.
