    ANet’s marketing department has quick reaction-time 😀

Blessed must have been a huge debacle indeed.

    • Jesse Wan

      Sorry, what happened?

      • Taiwan Wolf

Everyone can use their Bless refund money on GW2 xpans instead

There was a new MMO called Bless or Blessed. Apparently, it was a total disaster. A blogger told the people dissatisfied with it to try Guild Wars 2. Below is an example of such:

        https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/8n0iro/bless_refugee_here_looking_for_advice/

And this created a HUGE influx on new players. So much so, ANet has been greeting them in places like Queensdale. And that’s the reason for the sudden sale on the expansions.

        Hope this explained what’s happening.

when you think about it. it’s kinda special that the success of an old game comes from the massive disappointment of a ”new” one(that failed in 3 other continent)

          • Jesse Wan

I’ve figured it out: Guild Wars is best enjoyed when you flavor it with the salt from your previous MMO. Not for nothing that BDO stands for “Bitter Disappointment Online” to me.

I am sooo happy about this. hopefully this cash influx and the huge amount of new players makes anet strive for even better content as theyve been doing so far.

    • Alot

      Your optimism is touching.

Does this Version included the basic game and the first addon? Or do i have to buy all separate?

    • Verthiss

Either expac includes base game. So if you need just base game and one expac, you can buy either of them. If you want to have both expacs, you need to buy them both.

    • the base game is the free to play version, so everyone that makes an account gets that anyway.
the first expansion, heart of thorns, is 30 euro (without discount) and the other package is heart of thorns and the most recent expansion, path of fire, for 50 euros (without discount). i suspect that if you buy HoT first and then PoF later you will have payed 60 euros (2x 30 euro) total, so the 2 expansions at once and the discount will come down to 35 euros, for all expansions the game has, as the cheapest solution if you want it all.

i think this might be the deepest discount they ever gave too, but i might be wrong

Just in time for the Bless Online failure… nice.

    • Raizel

      Ye, it’s such a coincidence right? <.<

No matter how you slice it, gw2 is the best MMO out there. It just doesnt have that loot grind that everyone wants. So they keep leaving for greener pastures, but only find desert.

    • Jesse Wan

@mu Way to copy my comment, three whole hours later. Too much effort to come up with your own original thoughts, bro?

  • Andy

Is some of the story content locked behind another paywall? I remember when I was playing a couple years ago that if you didn’t log on every week as story is being released you would have to buy it with gems. Don’t want to buy expansions and then have to pay again for content.

    • Vadim Karpov

You can always play ESO and pay for every DLC (which hase a size of one living story episode) without opportunity to get it for free or buy crowns for gold.

      • Andy

I’ll take that as a bitter yes.

    • Californian Dreamer

With each expansion you get a living season. Right now we are in the Path of Fire expansion and in Living Season 4. If you are just buying the PoF expansion right now you’d have to purchase a couple of the past episodes of Living Season 4 because you didn’t log on while they were current. But if you buy the expansion future episodes would be free as long as you log in while they are active.

Can’t use the code for some reason. Is this only for new players Duffy?
