Why yes Eric, we are in fact very interested in when you’re planning to make up for the 2 days of Double CXP you shorted us during the last event. It seems like such a small thing but since this is literally all we have to look forward to these days aside from old items that we can by with 12,000 cartel coins it’s basically all that matters. I check Dulfy every week to find out if Dbl CXP is scheduled so I know if I’ll be playing TOR that week. Until then I will spend my time playing games that feature new content, DLC’s and in game perks on a regular basis. I recognize that once this game is gone classic Star Wars as we knew it is dead, so I don’t give up on it… you just don’t make that dedication very easy as of late. Please hire Drew Karpyshyn back and write some legitimate content to help bring this game out of its coma.
    Thanks.

  • Fubarz

It’s summer where is the Summer of pvp you said be out ? Or is it just more smoke and mirrors as usual.

    • AbnerDoon

It hasn’t even made it to the PTS yet. I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say it will be pushed back from early July.

    • Guest

“summer of pvp” in october? lol

  • Black_Brains

Did you ever hear The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis THE GENIUS?

  • VKing

I am not even mad at Bioware. They wanted to make this game good but EA is successfully making it impossible. Anthem, Anthem, Anthem. If Anthem fails, Bioware will cease to exist too. Shame.

    • Rompe Himself

What utter nonsense!! I think you are getting confused on who actually provided the content that made SWTOR once a great game vs what we have now.

The ORIGINAL devs of BW Austin who gave us all the awesome content up to Oricon, wanted to give us an awesome game but are no longer at BW Austin.

The CURRENT dregs at BW Austin, led by the equally hopeless Keith, are all about recycling and doing the minimal amount of work they can get away with. Papa EA has his hand in the current state of SWTOR sure, but BW Austin (not to be confused with the other BW studios), who was created for the sole purpose of SWTOR, takes majority of the blame here. The rot was setting in SWTOR, long before Anthem was a tingle in Papa EA’s nutsack.

      * It was NOT Papa EA who decided to deviate from the tried and true Republic vs Empire story lines throughout the Star Wars Old Republic era, and instead give us “Keeping up with the Valkorians”. An expansion with a woeful story, only suitable for force using classes, and give us a flashpoint that was the same across 6 bosses, and forcing us to do heroics, and pretend that is new content. That was all BW Austin.

      * It was not Papa EA who decided to change the end game gearing system and make it all RNG. That was all BW Austin.

      * It was not Papa EA who told BW Austin to recycle content and slap a new title on it and call it new. That was BW Austin. They are cutting corners every where they can E.G. Dark vs Light.

BW Austin have the cheek to charge full sub fees while delivering possibly the lowest amount of content of any AAA mmo out there. I mean for fucks sake, take a look at the Guild Wars 2 page on Dulfy here. GW2 is a B2P game and they are pumping out way more content then SWTOR which is sub based. Even Star Trek Online has come out with a new expansion. Meanwhile, over here in BW Austin’s SWTOR, all you hear is the sound of crickets, while waiting for any meaningful content or expansion to drop. They have conditioned those left, to accept the mediocrity of the content they deliver in quantity and quality.

Oh and let us not forget how BW Austin is the ONLY dev studio of any MMO, that is afraid of keeping subs, and refuse to give any confirmation or info on an expansion or provide full details on future content, DESPITE posting a roadmap (of which, they have zero fucking clue what it is meant to mean to do so). All they can give are praises to themselves for the most part and bare bones info on future miniscule content and roughly when to expect it (which they never make, despite setting their own time frame for it E.G. New Op), and hope all the gullible left playing this game, eat it up, hook, line and sinker for yet another year.

No sir, Papa EA have blood on their hands to be sure, but this is mostly all BW Austin’s doing on the current state of SWTOR.

      • VKing

        Point taken.

      • Paulo Gomes

“No, perhaps it is time for Bioware to be put down if they can no longer deliver what they were once upon a time famous for.”

Having a studio in Canada already shut down, I think it’s safe to say that if “Anthem” fails we could possibly be looking at the death of this once great gaming studio.

Possibly the greatest in the RPG genre. Only Bethesda can arguably compete in this championship. In my opinion, that is.

But as usual, you are right on the money.

      • Nick Weber

Another great studio devoured. RIP Westwood Studios, RIP Bioware.

How does it feel to live long enough to see all your favorite franchises go down in flames? …it feels GREAT!

      • Jabbadidnothingwrong

Stop glorifing vanilla SWTOR and it’s development. The mistakes made when SWTOR was developed and released are the reason why it wasn’t the success it should be! It’s not KOTET or KOTFE or anything. When this happend the game already tanked many times. The original developer crew where the ones who ran away because of the mess they created!

        • VKing

It’s difficult to not glorify vanilla SWTOR, as Oricon “expansion” was the time when SWTOR reached its peak. 4.0 was the point at which game started to lose good, experienced players and was flooded with newbies. Nothing wrong with that, yes? Of course not, unless those newbies stayed and we already know they were leaving the game quickly. From 4.0 to 5.0 game was somewhat bad but still playable, where at 5.0 game’s population dropped by 50-60% just in subs. And we can say game lost even more because it became even more P2P than earlier and most F2P players had no reason to stick around after they did story mode.
One of the biggest mistakes Bioware made was deleting ops pass simple because they thought “no ops pass = more players will subscribe”. Wrong. No ops pass = less players do ops. Agreed, people should sub to do operations but only when those are released periodically. Who wanted to waste money on subbing when we had same raids for 3 years? You can say it’s only 15$ but for some countries it’s few weeks worth of work. That said, amount of players was decreasing to the point where Bioware removed server status in poor attempt to cover the fact that they are stepping on shattered glass.
So yes, vanilla SWTOR – RotHC and Oricon were the best things that ever happened to SWTOR. After that it’s mostly downfall. Releases of ESO, BDO and new expansions for WOW didn’t help either.

      • Kubrickian

“BW Austin have the cheek to charge full sub fees while delivering possibly the lowest amount of content of any AAA mmo out there.” That is actually to me the biggest crime of all. Here I am playing the Division and Destiny and they seem to be fine with no sub fee simply hoping you’ll buy a future expansion and a far more modest cosmetic shop than SWTOR.

      • AbnerDoon

If you could stomach the GW2 story style it’s definitely worth a return to now. For less than two months of sub I picked up both expansions. My god the amount of areas you can explore and return to. You don’t even need to rerun the story or a FP the world just exists not gated behind bs.

I see the GW2 fan base giving the dev team shit and I laugh. I mean seriously oh there’s an issue and the dev’s are working on it immediately and this is shit service? Lmao, the devs in SWTOR ignore issues for days, weeks, months even.

Maybe someday one of the remaining team or departed will explain. Why the sub money never seemed to be reinvested in the game?

        • BobiFromTheHoodJeLud

          Try years bro.

    • d8xC0

EA didn’t choose the engine, EA doesn’t do the balancing, we don’t know if EA is interfearing with the development at all.

Many problems this game has are the responsibility of BioWare, which of course is part of EA.

You are right about this Antham part. it will fail, and BioWare will be done.

      • R315r4z0r

EA funds the game. A game like Anthem is expensive. Super expensive. Of course EA will interfere.

    • Marrks

Anthem will fail, just look at, it has andromeda decals everywhere!

    • Shawn Hargrave

i wasnt terribly impressed by the e3 demo it looks like an iron man ripoff in space

      • VKing

Frankly, I don’t even care about Anthem at all. Most propably I won’t even bother with watching gameplay, yet alone wasting money on it. We had seen so many epic games on this year’s E3 that Anthem among them looks like 4/10 at best.

    so..Anthem? fekk

  • Ben Gimson

I’ll be interested when ranked isn’t such a broken cluster of dried out shite.

    • Dr. Mike Wendell

I actually did some ranked this time around just to say that I did it. Didn’t have a single match that wasn’t a win trade, a hate discussion or didn’t have at least one bot running into the corner.

      Lots of fun.

      (OP is drmike)

      • Ben Gimson

It’s an incredibly toxic environment and unpleasant to play, aye, but for me the most glaring issue is that you get punished and your rank lowered because the randoms you get grouped with (playing solo ranked) are shit. You can be the best of your class on your server but you’ll still get punished if the rest of your team suck.

Which is made worse by the fact that if your team loses your rating actually -drops-, making it borderline impossible to even break-even. One unfortunate evening of bad groups and suddenly you’ve lost a week’s worth of slow and tedious progress.

It’s just a terrible system through and through. They should just scrap it and throw the rewards onto a vendor for regular wzs instead of wasting items on a tiny minority of win-traders.

        • gua543

They should have individual performance-based rating and team performance based-rating for solo and team ranked.

          • Ben Gimson

Yep, I could put up with doing it if it were more like that.

        • Teddybomber87

Thats why i choose to stop playing ranked solo. Everytime played i got stupid people who can’t play and my rank getting shit.

  • Andryah

    Andryah here,

    I’m still a cunt.

    That is all.

  • Cloudy

“The Genius” What a fucking joke of a title compared to previous top 3 titles. I put in so much time for it too, I hope they change the titles to something better

    • gua543

Why do you think you’re gonna be top 3 at all, mate?

      • Cloudy

Already top 3 unless someone else takes it

  • Barloc

    The bots are out today.

  • Jonathan Parker

I have yet to find a ranked PvP system in any game that isn’t ridiculously frustrating and needlessly hard on solo players. This game is certainly no exception.

Tank Shielding Changes Coming in 5.9.2 | 06.28.2018, 08:55 AM
    Hey folks,

One of the topics we have seen quite a bit of feedback about is the viability of tanks in PvP. There are a few reasons for this which we would still like to address down the line, but we have one change planned for 5.9.2 which we hope will help their survivability in PvP. This will also help incentivize tanks to wear tanking gear in PvP.
Critical hits are now affected by Shield / Absorb.
Currently, only regular hits from players can be impacted by shield procs. By including crits, this gives the potential for much more damage mitigation for tanks when being targeted by DPS classes. Here is a very basic example. Let’s say a normal hit would do 1,000 damage and a critical hit would do 2,000 damage. You are a tank and when your shield procs, you reduce damage by 25%. Previously you could reduce the normal hit to 750 damage, but would always take the 2,000 from a crit. After 5.9.2 you can also reduce the critical hit damage down to 1,500. This allows shield and absorb to be a direct counter-stat to Crit Rating for DPS classes.

    Let us know your thoughts.

    -eric

    • VKing

I am conflicted about this. Some say tanks are op, some say tanks are terrible. I CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

      • gua543

Skank tanks are OP, as you pretty much have a DPS with 150k hp if played properly. However, if you gear for defense in PvP you’ll be pretty much useless. I don’t remember the exact reason why, but I think it was because some damage types from other players’ abilities ignore shield and absorb. Could be wrong, but still – skank tanks are superior to defensive tanks in PvP.

        • Elianne

          Critical hits bypass Shield/Absorb
          Yellow hits (force/tech) bypass Defense
Elemental/Intern damage type bypass Shield/Absorb and Armor. Only internal/elemental damage reduction, got from class buffs and class abilities affect them.

For exemple, a lightning sorcerer deals only force damage, bypassing defense, and a mix of energetic and intern damage, so the intern part (the dots, thundering blast) goes trough shield / absorb / armor

          • Elianne

Let’s say a tank try to survive said lightning sorcerer, it’s almost always better to blow him fast as shank tank and use hp as a mean of survival, than trying as a pure tank since you won’t kill him fast and he’ll have more time to hit you and his hits bypass most of your defensives stats anyway

            • EyesOfGehenna .

If you can kill him at all as a defensive tank to begin with. To me the only thing that would make sense is to take gear mods out of PvP and just let them have PvP gear that has fixed stats. Offer variations that make sense but thereby not allowing mixing and matching.

In the end people either are clueless or end up using the same builds generally so might as well fix the gear side so you can’t make combinations that are bad ideas or unwanted because they are imbalanced.

Of course that would mean having PvP specific gear, which I think is the way to go anyway. Also having set bonuses that are either PvP or PvE centric. In fect I would even split PvE between casual and raiding. Putting all three on the same heap was never a good idea imo. And it also allowes you to make changes via the gear that will then only affect the group that needs it rather than only being able to balance on the classes which affects all three. Give each group the same ratings so people feel good about that, but have set bonuses and stats that make sense for that gameplay type.

One size just doesn’t fit all. Anyways, that’s just my take on it.

      • Tanks are only terrible in the hands of a terrible player. You can still follow these old ass guides and and have a decent skank tank….

    • gua543

On the one hand, it’s a good change. On the other, which genius decided that crits should bypass tank stats?

  • MJ

    rankeds of sheats

  • Did the devs happen to mention what a miserable, POS, cunt that Andryah is? Or maybe anything about her dogshit Kaliyo music?

    • Andryah

Sorry John, the devs didn’t mention it but it’s important we do regularly.

I am a miserable, POS, cunt.
