SWTOR Upcoming Items from Patch 5.9.2

SWTOR Upcoming Items from Patch 5.9.2. There isn’t much currently other than some loading screens and collection images for decorations.

Loading Screen

This the loading screen for the new Rishi stronghold and it shows players PvPing inside.

New PvP Arena

New CM items

These items appear to be new to the CM.

Decorations

It seems Bioware is adding decorations to collections. Here are some images of the decorations, most are old but some could be new decorations.

  • OW EN F

Looks more like their going to sell them from the Cartel Market, not add them to collections…

    • blackpyros

Yeah ppl were asking for direct sell decorations for some time now, and not long ago they even promised they will add them, so it seems the time has come.

      • Rompe Himself

Pity it is being done when the population is decimated and only the die hards and cartel whales are all that is left.

        • Jep Fareborn

It’s just a fucking travesty all around. This game can’t die soon enough. The entire game was just a GIMMICK from the get-go, anyhow – lousy game engine – re-use of map topologies in-game – tepid storytelling at best. I hope that Keith, Musco, and Charles (and especially Ben Irving) never find work in the video game industry again after SWTOR and BioWare get shut down.

        • Matthew Langley

But the Hate on SWTOR in Comments meta game is going strong, what would you do with your life if the game died. Credit where it’s due my friend.

  • EyesOfGehenna .

“This might be the loading screen for the new Rishi stronghold but it shows players PvPing inside.” Why do you say “but” Dulfy? The Rishi SH is reported to get PvP in it so that would be perfectly in line with this being the screen for the SH.

  • BioNightmare

Decoration unlock in Collection: 3500 CC

  • OH good… more garbage to spend real money on LOL. I’m sure that cunt bag Andryah loves it.

    • Jep Fareborn

You got botted above, ‘power-bottom’ ;p but I liked both comments anyways 😀

    • Andryah

If any comment needs botted its ‘cunt bag Andryah’ comments.

      P.S. I’m still a cunt.

  • Ahmet Yılmaz

but what is the point of adding decorations to collections?

    • cx

      Endless poweeeeeer.. no decorations?

    • EyesOfGehenna .

When you aren’t the kind of decorator that just throws random crap in their strongholds but actually puts in an effort and uses themes, you’ll find quickly that you don’t need 1 or 2 of many decorations but 10 or 20 and sometimes even more.

That gets really expensive really quickly and in a number of cases is impossible when there are like 2 on sale on the GTN for 20 million each and you need 10 more. And this was already the case 2 years ago. It’s a total rip off and actually is one of the reasons I quit playing.

  • Bazoom

Decorating your Stronghold and Barbie your Character is no longer fun since they raised the cost for unlocks and put everything on direct sale.

They also destroyed this part of the game. Well done BioWankers!

    • Jonathan Parker

Anyone who likes to play with the cosmetic side of any game is tearing their hair out in this new gaming industry. They’re just making us pay for fucking everything now, no matter how small it is.

    • Jep Fareborn

They sometimes cut the cost for collection unlocks in half, but usually hardly ever make an announcement about it. :/

    • EyesOfGehenna .

Well, the player base is so small now that they have to max the CM sales or this game is dead. So as long as the whales swim the cartel seas, SWTOR will live.

  • LucasFaun

    im going back to wow….

  • Jonathan Parker

Ha! You think they’re going to put decos in collections. No, no, no no no, THAT would be a good update to the decoration system. THIS is adding them to the store, to buy, another fucking money sink for those still wanting more of those for some reason.

  • De Hemel

OH good… more garbage to spend real money on LOL. I’m sure that cunt bag Andryah loves it.

    • Rompe Himself

Andryah would enjoy a golden shower and a plate full of shit if it came from the fucktards of BW Austin. Andryah wouldn’t even need to be sold on it. That is how obsessed and deluded Andryah has become.

  • Ben Gimson

Decorations being added to collections will mean I won’t have to create a guild for every SH I want to decorate. Nice.

  • Jayden

    Good for you?

    • Dr. Mike Wendell

Didn’t know spambots knew the difference between good and evil.

  • Jonathan

but what is the point of adding decorations to collections?

    • Rompe Himself

I cannot honestly see this being in collections. If the Dyes weren’t, then it is just as highly unlikely decorations will be either.

    • EyesOfGehenna .

There are a lot of decorations that I wished would be in collections, because when you create themed Strongholds you need lots of them. And as they are expensive and often the GTN doesn’t have the numbers you need, it becomes impossible to create those themes. So that would’ve helped me out a lot when I still played. But my guess is that this is probably just a list of items that will go on direct sale.

What the game needs is really a more extensive offering of decorations in the game itself and only sell some of the more special or uniquely flavoured items via the CM. The problem is that if you want to say use black as your main colour, then there are black wall drapes or banners. But only one and it’s from the CM and very hard to get if not impossible, especially if you need 20 or 40 to create that colour theme. And is there even a black carpet?

And yeah you can craft blue luxury carpets. But the red ones are behind those cartel certificates. And what about the green ones, yellow ones, black ones, white ones? Etc. They already have the basic skin and they only need to change the colouring on it to give people different colour options. It’s just one example but that’s the sort of stuff that needs to happen.

Collections for cartel market items would be useful but the things you need that for mostly is stuff like carpets, wall banners, lights and furniture. Those things are basic theme creators that you use in any Stronghold really. You could add plants and trees as well since you’ll need many copies too.

I just think they mishandled Strongholds since they were released pretty much and it’s a shame because they might’ve found something that made cartel packs more interesting for people to buy but it was a real douchebag thing to monetize to that extent. And it’s also chased people away who stop spending anything at all. Clearly I’m one of those people.

      • Slowpoke

        Totally!

      • Paulo Gomes

I couldn’t agree more. The game needs more decos available by playing the game, not by spending money on them.

They could be an incentive for, you know, actually playing the game. But obviously BW’s focus is somewhere else.

The MMO I’m currently playing has made housing into a game of its own. You can literally just play the game to get stuff to decorate.

But has you so rightfully say: Strongholds have been mishandled since they were first introduced.

        • EyesOfGehenna .

          Which MMO is that then?

          • Paulo Gomes

Oh, I’ve stopped identifying it, because I think I talked too much about it here. And some friends of mine here say the same. And I respect their wishes.

But my avatar is a pretty good clue.

            Hail Sithis!

            🙂

            • Matthew Langley

I do like how you can get decorations in ESO as well as a variety of other MMOS with good housing, even some oldies but goodies like EQ 2, etc.

My biggest problem with ESO housing is the lack of features (though with the whole storage thing they finally remedied that somewhat, though took way too long) and just how unimpressive the base housing options are for the price they cost. Even the most expensive houses tend to have pretty underwhelming interior and/or exterior spaces despite an absolutely insane cost if you buy with real cash.

Some of the newer ones show promise and there are a couple gems (the one I like the most is the large Orc house, pretty good indoor and outdoor space and expensive but about half the price of many less useful top tier ones).

          • Rompe Himself

Whispers *Elder Scrolls Online* into your ear. Unlike my esteemed fellow Dulfy poster Paulo, I don’t care for the people who get upset about ESO being mentioned or how much better ESO does things, so here, let’s go pimping for ESO:

            https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/25881

“have the option of placing pets, mounts, and useful
functional items in your homes, including Assistants, Crafting Stations,
working light fixtures, and even Target Skeletons (with which you can
practice combat and builds)! We even have a little something for diligent
Mages Guild scholars: copies of Shalidor’s Library books, which can be
placed as real books and read from your home, can be purchased from
Mages Guild merchants after you’ve found and completed a set. (This is
retroactive.) When Homestead launches, you’ll be able to craft, test class builds, host parties and roleplay gatherings, and more – all from the comfort
and convenience of your own home.”

After you experience ESO’s homesteads, it truly makes SWTOR’s “gallery” strongholds an utter embarrassment, not just in how you have to source items (As Paulo said, you can craft a great many things for your homestead vs maybe 99% of stronghold deco’s coming from Cartel Market), but how actually FUNCTIONAL, the homestead is, vs the static swtor stronghold, where truly, a SWTOR stronghold is basically one giant art gallery.

Like everything else these last few years, stronghold’s was a half ass effort by BW Austin (created just so BW Austin can say they too have housing, just don’t ask how good or functional they are lol), made worse when you compare them to not just ESO, but any mmo out there that has housing. Even Wildstar puts the strongholds in SWTOR to shame, and THAT is truly embarrassing.

            TL;DR: ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/98e32296177695501227d62e88025486bbc2d7847e099caf3507331d593ecda2.gif

            • EyesOfGehenna .

              hehe thanks

            • ConcernedGuest

Go for EVE Online, don’t even need to buy a sub for being subbed, just earn the sub by buying it from ingame money you earn on your quests/missions ;).

              • Rompe Himself

I considered trying EVE Online once upon a time, but all the stories of newbs being hunted by the super ships owned by the veterans put me off.

      • Matthew Langley

        Agreed, need more crafted decorations.

      • ConcernedGuest

If you were not here in the beginning of galactic strongholds but joined the game much later you will have massive difficulties getting the amount of decos you want for certain teams. Many are not obtainable anymore, or the drops have become so super rare or so super expensive in GM … but well, played the last time 4 month ago. 🙂

And concerning crafting: cartel market killed crafting.

    • Kubrickian

So that you use real money to unlock hundreds of past decos for this new stronghold. Maybe incentivize with a conquest bonus for having yet another fully decorated strongholds?

      • Dr. Mike Wendell

The bot doesn’t care about money.

  • Disqus this

I can only hope thats not the Rishi SH in that picture.

  • blah

Used to love the game, now it just depresses the hell out of me. Miracle to run any content with anyone decent and the remaining raiders are pretty much the youngest and most epic jerks around.

  • Slowpoke

Most of these are big decors, but we need to put the small ones to collection because we need a big amount of them for certain theme.

  • HMH
    • EyesOfGehenna .

I think you grossly overestimate how much SWTOR is making.

      • HMH

Nope you’ve just grossly exaggerated the point Im making to give you an opportunity to say something snarky on the internets. 1 out of 10, lacks originality.

        • EyesOfGehenna .

I’m known to take people’s comments more literally than people are used to it seems, but in my mind I have this apparently odd idea that people might sometimes mean what they say. It will happen again mind you. Oh and if there’s one comment that lacks originality then it’s “1 out of 10, lacks originality”. So well done on that. I guess you won the unoriginality contest, so I bow to your masterful lack of originality (I do hope that keeps me in the snarkiness contest however, that one I wouldn’t mind winning).

          • HMH

Literally I said ‘at work’ so, no, you didn’t ‘take it literally,’ you just made an assumption and were wrong and now you’re just more wrong, cool man, you sure are winning these internets. I’m gonna give this one a -2, for being boring and predictable.

            • EyesOfGehenna .

Good then my comment stands and your just being an ass. Thanks for clearing that up.

              • HMH

Someone is definitely being an ass here…

              • EyesOfGehenna .

Yep, you. My comment that I felt you were grossly overestimating the profit margins of SWTOR clearly did not warrant what you made out of it.

              • HMH

If I said they were building a new McDonalds with your Big Mac money would you assume I believed you ate enough Big Macs to build a whole McDonalds or would you use logic and assume I meant that your money was contributing- asking for a friend.

      • Matthew Langley

Agreed, I can’t imagine the bottom line of SWTOR having any significant impact on a project the scale of Anthem.

        • Rompe Himself

Maybe not via the Cartel Market, but it is a known fact that developers and staff resources was taken off the clown car called Bioware Austin, and directed towards Anthem and the multi-Bioware dev studios all working on it.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

That much is true, but do you think they are still on the SWTOR payroll or on the Anthem one?

            • HMH

You seriously think companies have separate payroll for different projects?

              • EyesOfGehenna .

In the company where I work, which employs over 1100 people payroll costs are assigned to the different departments. When there are projects that use people from other departments, their costs are calculated towards that project budget.

So not only do I think that this can happen, I know it can happen because it’s happened to me for a few projects already.

              • HMH

I don’t think Bioware Austin has anything close to the amount of employees or is set up the same way as your company.

              • EyesOfGehenna .

I don’t think so either. But BioWare is larger than Austin and EA is bigger than that. The question is who sets the budgets and are they on a project basis. I don’t know, neither do you, so there’s no reason to ridicule my question.

              • HMH

IDk ive worked for a couple game studios around that size so maybe I might know something, you just love to assume and you know what they say about assumptions.

            • Rompe Himself

Having worked for a tech company that had different divisions working on different softwares, the company would take spare devs from one division (E.G. Finance software) and put them in the Cloud division when needed, but still got paid by the company regardless. I would imagine BW Austin is much the same under the pimp hand of Papa EA.

              • EyesOfGehenna .

You would imagine but you don’t know and neither do I. I am not claiming that BioWare works that way, I am just explaining why it was unfair for HMH to ridicule me for asking the question…cause all I did was ask the question whether that was case. I did not say it was the case.

    • dzip.sys

      Reminds me of that…

      https://youtu.be/YRc0kVI3P4I?t=4m

      • ConcernedGuest

at the beginning , the jugger … constantly his shield is flashing … the shield on my jugger never flashed that even when i was still playing swtor.

    • Fubarz

Whatever… Another game by EA/BW that they will mess up. Resulting in more player’s getting pissed off.

    • Bioboi

Did we just finance that crap? oh nou….RIP Bioware 2019 =(

    • Jonathan Parker

Oh please, that’s sub money. CM money is going into the pockets of the people who came up with that shitty system.

      • John Kosto

Really? You think that’s how it works?

        • Jonathan Parker

          I think that’s how a joke works.

  • Matthew Langley

Really wish they would do an Alderaan stronghold, still want my Alderaan castle.

    • Jonathan Parker

I’m very surprised this hasn’t happen yet, now that I think about it. Didn’t even consider an Alderaan property until now. That’d be my favorite one! That planet is beautiful!

      • RandomGuest

I really wanted an Ilum stronghold. Gave up waiting for that just like I gave up on the devs turning this game around.

        • Jonathan Parker

I don’t know about Ilum. That’d be like having one on Hoth. What could you do with vast empty spaces filled with ice and snow? Not much, unless you put the thing underground like all of the faction bases.

          • RandomGuest

For me it’d have to be on the surface. Otherwise I wouldn’t buy it. I really liked Ilum. It’s not so different than Manaan which is all water. But, it’s past time for me. I cancelled my sub and uninstalled months ago. I finally gave up on the devs and the game. I just come here to see what’s changed and for the lol’s. 🙂

      • Matthew Langley

Yeah, I wanted it from the moment they announced the Stronghold feature, really surprising why they haven’t done one since it’s from the core game and they have all the assets needed.

    • Tony

      starving for new material

  • paski96

Andryah would enjoy a golden shower and a plate full of shit if it came from the fucktards of BW Austin. Andryah wouldn’t even need to be sold on it. That is how obsessed and deluded Andryah has become.

    • Rompe Himself

On behalf of me, Rompe Himself, I would like to thank this bot for taking the time to copy my post and calling it Paski96’s own. You have fine tastes. 😀

  • Zebedeeeeee

Looks nice from what I’ve seen. Always liked the asthetics of Rishi. So I might consider splashing out. 🙂

Saying that, I’m still hoping for that pseudo Echo Base/Telos Academy at some point in the future.
