    Oh fuck yea
    And that Costume fuck yeah

    • Darth Ji’inx

I could see that being Vitiate’s outfit.

      • Teddybomber87

I also see Acina in this . I like that pattern a lot.

        • Darth Ji’inx

It looks like her outfit, but with an ancient Nathema vibe.

          • Teddybomber87

Yeah. And that Ironmask. I get some King Louis vipes XD

            • Darth Ji’inx

But this doesn’t look like a prisoner… XP

              • Teddybomber87

                More a warrior Louis XD

        • Deshik

we all actualy were typing Acina set when all we could see was Muscos back right after he loged in

  • xking5v

lol majority of the areas of this stronghold are reskinned from the operation.

    • Harston

      Yup. Great ain’t it?

      • Darth Ji’inx

        Still looks good. 🙂

    • Darth Ji’inx

Still looks like a fun stronghold.

    • Pretty much!

    • AbnerDoon

Eh while true this has to be better than that reskinned train SH. :p

      • EyesOfGehenna .

It is but it has terrible hook placement so it’s horrible for decorating yet again.

        • Sorrai

The hook layout on Rishi isn’t 100% ideal, but then again none of the layouts on any stronghold are. The difference is that the Devs are currently seeking player feedback on this one and people have been giving them plenty of feedback, a lot of it is very constructive and people are definitely mentioning improving the hook layout. Considering this SH is slated to release at the end of this month I imagine the easiest thing they can possibly do is to do some more fine tuning to the hooks. Too many strongholds have been ruined by whatever thoughtless Dev they put in charge of slapping down hook tiles. It angers me that they haven’t figured out such a simple thing. Whenever I see a medium-narrow hook in the middle of a wide open space I want to punch the idiot who thought that was a smart idea.

    • Sorrai

I explored this place on PTS last night and none of it felt like a repeat from the Op. Yes, it features Rishi architecture and design aesthetics but that is not the same thing as a blatant copy.

  • DarthBoggle

Hell, I’m just hoping that the Lana relationship that they mentioned at the end will be retroactive for characters the system cheated out of the option

  • AbnerDoon

The date is the most disappointing thing about this. Early July is not usually considered the 31st. It sounded like there was a very good chance it would get pushed back even further.

I know it’s a reskin but the SH does look pretty cool. I hope it can handle the player load. I also hope it isn’t the lag fest that large PVP groups become in open world.

    • Sorrai

The Rishi Stronghold is not a re-skin. It is a brand new design. I think the cargo hauler ship is mostly new. The rooms and especially the bridge all look new. The ship exterior might be the only thing reminiscent of the Op, but I can’t remember. What is cool is that the exterior deck can be converted into 3 layout options: a PVP arena, and 2 other layouts, one of them having 4 starship hooks.

      • HMH

Never been in the Ravagers Op, huh?

        • Sorrai

It’s been a long time since I ran Ravagers. I realized the PVP arena was part of the 1st (?) boss fight and I *think* the “Hideout” section felt vaguely familiar. However, I’ve also realized that they’ve taken portions of Ravagers and integrated it with entirely new stuff and I’m totally okay with that. Rishi’s design is among my favorite in the game and this upcoming stronghold is perfect for creating a dingy pirate town. I like to RP and get a lot of satisfaction creating tasteful layouts for my strongholds. It’s a fun hobby within the game so this is all stuff I appreciate.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

I think the new SH is great for RP purpose but total bs for decorators. But for RP’ers this must be the best thing that happened since they lost their RP servers.

            • Sorrai

I don’t see a disconnect between decorators and RPers. I enjoy doing both and they complement one another. How you came to the conclusion that this new SH is BS for decorators is something I’m not interested in knowing. Every stronghold provides a unique theme. Some are a little more versatile than others. Pirate town will be a fun place to decorate.

          • HMH

What are these ‘new stuff’s you see ‘integrated’ because I am familiar with Ravagers and I see no new assets being used, am I missing something? Please point out at least one.

            • Sorrai

The dock area where you phase in before the 1st arena, the large sand beach to the north, the hidden cave and the island to the northeast are all new. The only assets from the Op that I recognize are the PVP arena, the staging rooms, portions of the freighter, and the central area of the stronghold. I’m not sure about the southern and western portions. While some of the buildings are recycled from their assets I don’t recognize the layout of that area being specific to the Op. It may have been culled from other areas in Raider’s Cove. Rishi was designed to look dingy and cluttered so not all details are easily recognized.

              • HMH

There is literally nothing new there.

              • Sorrai

Are you sure? I literally cited four things that weren’t part of the Ravagers Op. If you can send me a link or something to where you’ve seen this stuff before I’d appreciate it. Otherwise, I’m fairly sure all that stuff is new. Do you think that doesn’t count or something? Most importantly, whether it is new or not, the point is it’s still a very cool layout and I’m happy to have it in a stronghold format. There are so many great areas in the game that show up in the class stories that I would love to see converted into strongholds. Ideally I’d like to see a stronghold done for every major planet so players can choose which ones inspire them the most. They wouldn’t all need to be as enormous as Yavin, Tatooine or Rishi. some could be much smaller, like a tenament apartment on Hutta or a luxury apartment on Zakuul (Kaliyo’s place in KotFE), a castle on Alderaan or a plantation on Makeb, corporate office on CZ-198 or an industrial factory on Balmorra. Endless possibilities.

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Lol, it’s totally taken from the Ravagers ops

  • Shawn Hargrave

lol this pvp house shit is stupid as fuck they already tryed this with outlaws den.why not have an instanced large area for pvp with bases with objectives oh wait their paper engine cant handle it….smh why cant you take a guild ship and invade someones house even? god these people are fucking stupid lolz

    • Jep Fareborn

Keith, Charles, Musco, and Ben Irving need to be forced out of the gaming industry. Period.

      • Sorrai

I disagree. I like Keith. He’s done more stuff for the game under his watch than his predecessor. He also has made more of an effort to engage with the community compared to the previous game director. I appreciate that but you obviously do not. I don’t place my hate on the Devs as much as I do EA for forcing the Dev team to keep this game running under such limited conditions. I would hate having a job in the gaming industry knowing the.customer youare trying to please is made up of some of the most rotten, vitriolic people in existence.

        • Travelering_swordsman

if only Bioware would just cancel their finances with EA and just leave break their deal. tell them to fuck off and not touching swtor. but lets realize. that will never happen.

      • Shawn Hargrave

        Sorrai = Andryah

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Instead Ben Irving is lead producer on Anthem. Gives you warm fuzzy feelings all over I’m sure…

    • Sorrai

You have been ranting like this for years. It doesn’t seem to matter to you what it is. You are guaranteed to hate it regardless. If you take the time to look back on every post you have written here and realize just how many years you have spent hating on everything you might realize you probably should have moved on from this years ago. I am here because I still enjoy playing the game. If I spent as much time and energy venting my anger on these forums on an almost daily basis the way you do for as long as you have I would rather go find something else to play that I would enjoy.

      • Shawn Hargrave

How about you learn to take criticism and understand this a discussion forum. It only takes seconds to make s post. Like the other 100 carebears before you that i made leave that have said this to me guess what i aint going nowhere. This is a “discussion” forum if you want to be a carebear go on the tor forums where its safe

        • Sorrai

I’m going to address you one last time before moving on. There are plenty of things to get frustrated over, especially if you’re passionate about playing this game. The fact you’re still here tells me that either you still care about the game or that you are incapable of letting it go. For your sake I hope it’s the latter. The most telling thing you said: “It only takes seconds to make a post”. You’ve developed a habit of posting without taking the time to think about what you want to say or how best to say it. Consequently, the vast majority of your posts come off as nothing more than tirades. I care about the game but I get pissed off just as much as everybody else here and I have plenty of reasons to be angry over the sloppy and inconsistent work I’ve seen the Devs churn out over the years, but the best chances we have to see SWTOR improved is by offering solid, CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and not a a pile of useless shit-posting. In the real world you might actually be a nice, normal guy, but if you are anything in real life like how you post on here your attitude and negativity would cut through me like a dentist drill. I can be an arrogant, opinionated, self-entitled dickhead just as much as everyone else here. I try not to. I much prefer having discussions with people who are considerate and thoughtful and who can think of ways to improve the game rather than just adding more diarrhea to the river of crap. Learn to articulate, my friend.

          • Shawn Hargrave

Like i said carebear go back to the swtor forums where its safe if you cant handle criticism which you obviously cant

            • Aaron Herrick

It’s not so much the fact that people can’t handle criticism, it’s more the fact that all you do is shit post on literally every single thing for the past few years at least. If you haven’t been playing the game then you can’t really criticize any thing and you’re just making the community more and more toxic. If you were to offer constructive criticism, this would be a lot different.

For example: The Solo movie. There is a bunch of people who shit on it and they’ve never even seen it. I saw it and while it wasn’t the quality of a Star Wars movie, it was still a fun film to see. SWTOR is the same way. Yea I don’t agree on everything the devs do, but I still enjoy playing the game.

              • Shawn Hargrave

Thanks for proving my point about not being able to handle criticism. Btw 9 out of 10 posters here dont play the game. When i read what the devs are posting its always some stupid shit im not gonna be positive about the stupid shit they do and im not going to be a kissass here its called an opinion being different from yours its not the end of the world

          • abaddonsmummy

Don’t take the bait, because that’s what his posts mainly are, that and upvotes, which on here with a negative viewpoint is like shooting fish in a barrel.
He hasn’t made 100 carebears leave the forum, I’ve been here for a long time, barely anyone engages him, those that do see through is ‘carebear’ nonsense quickly.
You can however get a very articulate debate from Rompe, Paulo, Ben, Eyes, Adam, Jinx, Cocobeans, Twinge and many others that you see on here, that can interact, as they care about the game and the franchise and want so much more from it.
Don’t waste your time on people that aren’t here for Swtor.

            • Sorrai

Thanks for your insight. Yeah, I’ve been aware of him trolling these forums for many years now. Realizing that he’s still doing it on such a consistent basis is a little disturbing to me. Civil discourse isn’t always easy but I do appreciate people who at least make the effort and I think most of the guys you mentioned have demonstrated that. My hope is that the majority of people here all share a common interest: we enjoy the game and want to see it improved so we can continue enjoying the game. Then there are those assholes who can’t help themselves from shitting in the fish tank. Maybe they’re off their meds or maybe they have yet to be medicated, but whatever it is, that kind of behavior isn’t normal or productive. It’s just turd soup.

      • Fred Garvin
      • EyesOfGehenna .

Well it seems like you’re here almost every day venting your anger about his comments…

        • Sorrai

Nope! I post here every once in a while to spare myself from drowning in the river of crap so many people here love to regurgitate. I prefer to play the game.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

Switching back and forth between here and the SWTOR forums no doubt. If you really preferred playing the game and spare yourself, you’d be better off not posting here at all to be honest. But your life, your choice. I’m not going to stop you.

            • Fred Garvin

              [OP is Fred G]

Yeah, he’s waayy too busy killing Karraga for the 1,356th time to post here. It’s at level so it’s new content!

            • Sorrai

I post on the forums once in a while, usually whenever the Devs are seeking feedback to better improve the game. It’s more of a semi-regular practice. Nowhere near the amount of time and energy as some others who seem more interested in posting daily tirades on the forums than actually playing the game. You and a few others seem to post here quite a bit. Rather than make presumptions about me you’re welcome to visit the forums yourself and do a search on my name and it’ll tell you everything you need to know. I’m assuming you won’t bother. I wouldn’t it either, but you seem to take issue with it. Maybe this would help you somehow.

  • deletebioware.exe

RIP target dummy desoration (that can be placed on any hook you want).

    • Sorrai

Seriously. While I’m glad to see a training dummy finally in a stronghold I have been wanting a solo training dummy for years. I heard somewhere the devs mentioned it was problematic to code but I have a hard time believing that such a thing would be that difficult to do. I also think it would be great to see a training dummy in the form of a shooting range. Target practice for ranged fighters.

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Well, you can have training dummies on your personal ship for quite some time now. That seems solo enough for me.

        • Sorrai

While you’re at it you can also rationalize that there’s no reason for strongholds to have cargo bays, mailboxes or GTNs either since you can find all that stuff on your starship too. Why stop there? Since all that stuff can be found on fleet and since it’s possible to fast travel to anywhere in the game from the galaxy map, might as well do away with personal starships and custom strongholds altogether, right? The point is, strongholds are meant to be personal, customized player housing. Handy items like GTNs, cargo bays, crafting nodes, mailboxes, vendors and yes, training dummies, don’t just add convenience and utility to strongholds, they are also useful in helping to create *scenes*. You may or may not understand or appreciate that, but there are others that do. There have been multiple requests from players over the years who would like to have training dummies as a deco.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

I’m not rationalizing. You said you’ve been wanting a solo training dummy for years and I said we’ve had it for years. That’s not a rationalization.

I also see no reason to not add all of this to strongholds or guild flag ships. So if your point was that you’ve been waiting for years to have this in a stronghold then you should’ve said exactly that. Don’t blame me for you not saying what you meant. You can’t just blurt out the first thing that comes to mind and expect people to know you meant something else. Again, I have nothing against putting these items in Strongholds, but the argument such as you gave it was incorrect or shall we say incomplete?

            • Sorrai

              BLRRT! BLRRT! BLRRT!

              • EyesOfGehenna .

                ok that was funny lol.

  • Ben Gimson

    Callous Conqueror looks tasty.

  • Adam Haynes

It’s something… I assume it will cost a fortune in CC but credit to them for at least trying to make something new. The frustrating thing to me is that instead of trying to give us something like a new SH or making changes to the PVP system they could get more mileage out of doing a little something for their customers on a regular basis. One week offer double xp and cxp for wz’s, the next offer double $$ for GTN sales, or even do a series of weeks where you earn one piece of an armor set every week for partaking in a specific aspect of the game until you complete the set. It doesn’t matter how cheesy it is even… customers would appreciate being engaged and feeling like they’re able to work towards or look forward to something. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel, just keep the bearings oiled.

    • Sorrai

Great ideas. Seems to me like one out of every 100 posts on here offer any kind of constructive feedback.

      • Adam Haynes

Appreciated. I’m becoming more critical by the week but I try and offer constructive criticism where possible and conversely I try to offer constructive praise when I can. I will play this game until it is no more but doing so would be much easier to stomach if EA would take a look at how successful older games maintain their customer base and try and follow suit. I want to love this game again but I would settle for liking it.

        • abaddonsmummy

It’s hard not to be critical with the way the game has gone, I’m still subbed, still have fun but the dev’s choices infuriate me a lot, this game should have been so much more but for some bizzare choices at the top as to where the game should go.
Like you, I like the game more than love it anymore, but for me it’s still the most fun in MMO land.
          Atm 🙂

    • EyesOfGehenna .

SH’s is something they’ve been able to shamelessly monetize for years now. Hate to say it but player numbers are too low for what you want. What I mean with that is that they need to monetize the crap out of this game to keep it alive now.

That’s why things like the PvP changes happen so that the remaining player base actually has a game to play. PvP queues are screwed so they make PvE’ers go there for mats and now make things cross faction which they vehemently refused to do in the past. Direct sales are also part of this picture.

When there were enough players selling RNG loot boxes aka cartel packs worked cause it was worth for a number of whales to buy a lot of stuff and offload it at the GTN. Now there aren’t that many players anymore direct sales are more profitable. It cut down the over-availability on the GTN basically forcing people to buy stuff themselves rather. That way more people spend cartel coins and when people get used to it, they are not reliant on the few remaining whales.

You can get upset about that and you’d be right, but it’s perfectly in line with BW doing what it takes to keep this game profitable enough with a small player base. Server merges into new hardware was also part of that as they knowingly sacrificed Pacific Players for a better profit margin. I think even Galactic Command was the first attempt to stabilize the game for an already smaller player base but it backfired because, well, it was shit. So that changed their direction drastically in what we’re seeing today because their promises for new group content were too late and the damage was done.

In retrospect it would’ve been better if they’d abandoned the whole ops plan and go for things like explorable areas or people to quest around in like before and better in game reward systems. That’s one thing they could still do, even with reduced resources but I think they’re too afraid too lose their cartel sales. However, I think it would still be better for the game if they rewarded gameplay more.

      • Sorrai

I think there’s some validity in what you have to say in regards to the changes they made to the CM, but I’m not clear on what you mean by “monetizing” strongholds. Are you referring to SHs specifically or the extensive decos that go with it? If they locked strongholds behind a CC pay wall then I could see the problem, but they’ve always provided the option of unlocking SHs with either Cartel coins or credits, and I don’t have an issue with that. Credits are so much easier to farm now compared to before. Even if a Stronghold costs something like 15 million to unlock it’s still attainable even for the poorest subscriber if they put in the time and effort to grind. Just running through a circuit of Heroics can yield about 675,000 credits in roughly an hour’s time if you’re efficient enough.

As far as keeping the game alive, this is an issue inherent with any business, so I expect they’ll continue to make more adjustments down the road. I much preferred the old pack system format. It enabled players to get some of the items they wanted while also putting up items they didn’t need up for sale on the GTN. I think more people benefited from it, since there would be an influx of new items hitting the GTN after the release of every pick. The saturation of new stuff would force sellers to drive their prices lower, which made it more affordable for others to purchase stuff like gold armor pieces and weapons. Ever since they released their Ultimate Packs, obtaining any new items has become next to impossible considering the massive RNG table. Things like new decos, even the simple ones, have become ultra rare and prices on the GTN have skyrocketed. It has become ridiculous. I would like to see them bring back the old pack system while also giving players the option of doing direct purchases on the CM.

        • EyesOfGehenna .

Monetizing it is how much decorations cost per decoration and how many you needed of them. The RNG element makes it that much worse. In my view SHs would’ve been much more enjoyable if you were less dependent on the CM to actually get those hundreds and hundreds of decorations per SH of which you can now get 10.

Instead of letting you gain or craft a majority of decorations in game, the decorations MOSTLY come from cartel packs. That makes it a cash cow for BioWare instead of a nice additional alternative to the usual killing sprees.

When I speak of keeping the game alive I mean that as a survival in extremely difficult circumstances. Not all businesses are that close to the brink that they have to change things so dramatically that it interferes with the core values of the product. Moving raiders to farming in ranked and making all warzones cross faction are such measures. They are necessary now but with better leadership could’ve been avoided in my view and the game would have a healthier population.

I do not blame them for doing now what needs to be done. That makes sense. It’s just a shame that we got here.

As for the GTN, yes the prices have skyrocketed. Only few people can afford those prices leaving most to having to buy them with direct sales. The GTN in this respect has become a rich man’s playground (meaning rich in credit’s nothing more) and the direct sales are the easy alternative. This is what drives more direct sales.

This means that when the items are added to the universal RNG cartel pack it’s worth it for the whales to get on it because they have a timed exclusive. Then when the items go to direct sales the second wave of sales comes to those who cannot afford the GTN prices. It makes sense for BW to do it like this also because it makes the game safe from the loot box discussions that especially in Europe is now leading to restrictive legislation.

So it’s a smart move from that point of view as well. Incidentally the price of decorations as you explain so very well answers your own question about monetizing Strongholds so it’s kinda funny that you asked it. It’s soo expensive and I think the new SH as such crappy hook placement to make it easier to fill up your SH. Except if you’re really into decorating it just sucks.

My view is though that majority of players that are left are lazy and/or simpletons. Certainly not all players but it seems that people want easy and it sells. But that’s exactly what drove me away from this game. I want to craft more decorations and do content to earn them. Instead I have to buy them.

The people who do have half a brain still in SWTOR, well it’s impressive they can still last but lucky for them they found a way. But my view is that BW is doing exactly those things that have the best chance of keeping this game going. And it takes people spending money on it regularly in the CM and having the GTN flooded with items because the RNG packs give too many doubles was just not making them the money anymore. So a mix of this ultimate pack with timed exclusives and then putting it on direct sales is the new way. Also it looks like there will be a bunch of decorations either going into collections or more likely on direct sales.

I can see them going on direct sale with the new SH coming out. It requires a LOT of decorations too fill in spite of the poor hook placement. And after the current drought I suspect people will jump on the direct decoration sales like starving wolves. That’s exactly what they’re aiming for I would think.

People who want this game to stay alive just need to realize they need to pump money into this game or they won’t be able to. It’s unfair to the players but it’s the only way it can stay alive. So get a sub, and spend regularly in the CM and this game will survive. Don’t spend and the game will not last.

The game by itself was dying but as long as people spend they extend the life of SWTOR for years to come still. For me it should’ve died a more respectful death but I do get that some people still want to play this game so I’m happy for them that it’s still there. But you have to be realistic and without these changes to the CM the game would be on its knees by now.

        • EyesOfGehenna .

Well, you say you’re not clear on monetizing but do show at the end how they do it now. In the past it was done basically via cartel packs. The RNG and low frequency of decorations compared to how many you’d need made it very expensive.

As you describe the prices have gone even more exorbitant. This is good for direct sales and I believe that with the upcoming SH release they will do a big direct sale of decorations.

In a small population it stands to reason that the amount of so called whales compared to the rest of the population is greater because they have no issue overspending and that says something about their loyalty to the game on average. So I think that if they’d still focused on just cartel packs, the GTNs would become more flooded and overall sales would drop accordingly. Now by using a timed exclusive on ultimate pack items that are then put up for direct sales it increases GTN prices and more people will feel compelled to buy it themselves via the CM. Mind you, this is what it looks like to me. I can’t be sure that I’m right but to me it feels like a logical situation and so to me it fits in a bigger picture of BW making the game viable for the long-term in spite of the population drop that led to server merges last year.

          • Sorrai

I agree with you, though I would add that sense of loyalty whales might have for the game is probably compounded by other, more addictive factors like impulse buying which is a compulsion some gamers and collectors often develop. It’s a formidable combination and I’m sure the industry invests heavily on researching ways on how to tap into those people.

            • EyesOfGehenna .

Agreed. I was at the wrong end of that for a while till I realized that I was no longer buying cartel packs for fun but out of compulsion. Luckily for me, I was able to shut that down but not everybody is that lucky.

This is why I think direct sales are better anyway. The only other thing I would personally like to see is that they get rid of these fake currencies like cartel coins and just give the dollar/euro price. Or at least put that next to it and have a fixed price for CCs without discounts.

I suppose if you want to pay 50 bucks for a lightsaber skin that’s your choice but perhaps you should see it in the perspective of what it actually costs. You can effectively buy another computer game for the price of a lightsaber skin. You may still want the lightsaber but then it seems more like an informed choice rather than having been tricked into buying something.

              • headstrong

Having the RL price next to the direct sale item – just like having calorie count on your chocolate bar. I like it 😉

And I know what you mean about the packs – I realised I was enjoying just ‘opening’ them too. Haven’t bought any since they changed the model so that’s a good thing.

  • Jep Fareborn

All I wanted was a boxing ring arena in Fleet to use ONLY our Legacy Unarmed Attacks. I hate all the white knights that keep this game alive and going in the wrong direction. I want the devs to suffer and the white knight fans to suffer. Whales just waste their fun money. Fuq ’em all.

I’m not saying you got weird requests but… that is a fucking weird request, my dude.

      • Jep Fareborn

You gotta admit that is is original and to the point. EA and bioware are raping a dying fanbase with this shit. SWTOR can’t die fast enough.

        • Kubrickian

I think Ruin Johnson, Jar Jar Abrams, and Kathleen Kennedy are doing just as good a job at killing the Star Wars fanbase.

I like wasting my money. Called: being alive and having a disposable income

  • Havik79

Seriously, talk about fucking niche market.

    • Jep Fareborn

I could give 2 $#!+s about this new SH.

      • Sorrai

I feel the same way about your comment. Just because you don’t like one particular aspect of the game doesn’t mean other players feel the same. Stronghold design is one of the only custom outlets the game for people to express their creativity. If you are not the creative type that’s fine.

    • EyesOfGehenna .

A niche market? This game IS a niche game and SH’s is something that they can use to monetize the crap out of the players. Now by adding PvP into the mix they can finally start monetizing PvP’ers as well.

      • Havik79

Yeah I imagine there are lots of angry kids who will take the time to build their own pvp SH and organise their own fights lol.

        • EyesOfGehenna .

Sure cause now they can blame the map and fix it to their advantage 😉

        • fffoff

They’re all the rude stupid pricks on fleet. They won’t leave there as then they’d have no other morons to lick windows with.

So Basically same old same old BS

      It’s way worse…

    “All PvP queues cross-faction”
Oh, it has nothing to do with decreasing population, does it?

    • Jep Fareborn

Talk about adding chlorine and shock treatment to the pool…

      • VKing

I don’t wish for the game to die, I simply hope it will get better at some point but fucking hell it’s difficult to cling to that hope with every news Dulfy dishes out. I know it’s not her fault but seriously, when majority of new “content” is CM sales then we really have a problem.

  • Rompe Himself

So first it was the train flashpoint that got turned into a SH, now it is the Rishi Op that gets turned into a SH. Is there some rule in BW Austin where fresh, new content is taboo and everything has to be recycled?

    • Sorrai

Feel free to snark all you want. I logged in to the PTS last night and toured the Rishi Stronghold and it is awesome. For RPers and decorating enthusiasts this is a beautiful stronghold design. I still would like them to do some improvements on the hook layouts, as usual, but overal this is a very impressive design. If only they had given Manaan the same amount of love. I am hoping the fact they invited subscribers to join PTS and offer their input on the forums means they are actually going to make some tweaks based on player feedback. Dare to dream.

      • HMH

You Keith’s new intern or somethin?

        • Sorrai

What makes you ask? Because I happen like something? Or because I’m not demonizing the Dev team?

          • EyesOfGehenna .

            So you’re not denying it.

            • Sorrai

Sound logic, my friend. You are a pillar to your debate team. I’m going to use that same line at the next witch trial.

              • EyesOfGehenna .

Thanks I do save my special lines for special people 🙂 Well, if witch trials are a thing for you, it is a good line for the prosecutor indeed. Very useful for people who refuse to answer questions or dance around the truth. So yeah, I recommend using it when you put your next victim on trial.

      • VKing

“For RPers and decorating enthusiasts this is a beautiful stronghold design.”

For RPers this game can be CM sales only, fortunately there are still some normal people who want new content as -playable- one, not just place to spam decos with so you can get conquest boost. 10/10. People are snarky because they want some new content, not another revamped shit. Decreasing amount of time it takes to complete a warzone doesn’t count as new content, neither cross-faction does as we already had it. You know, just something PLAYABLE, not just to look at.

        • abaddonsmummy

They removed to deco spam to get the conquest boost.
It works differently now, it goes on unlocked areas instead, not percentage filled.

          • VKing

So it’s even more fun now.

You mean “for the entire playerbase that is left.”

        • Sorrai

If the only players left were RPers and decorators that’d be fucking awesome. Through in the GSF community and I’d be over the moon. Promise you’ll leave the game? Pinky swear?

          • Fred Garvin

            [OP is Fred G]

Lol…I left this game 2 years ago.

      • abaddonsmummy

        Agreed it looks amazing.
        But.
I had hoped we had gotten away from single section focus on updates.
We had that for too long with Kotfe and Kotet and drove many players away, and the last few updates have been really good in offering something for all, a bit of story (through flashpoints), new flashpoints, an op’s boss, starfighter or pvp, Qol improvements, but this one is solely focused on pvp’ers.
Now while I think they should get some love because they were one of the least developed areas of the game, the pvp changes imho would have been enough, even a new arena would have been cool, but who asked for yet another pointless giant stronghold when we already have enough.
They could have given us a flashpoint.
        Nathema was excellent.
Hell, even an uprising would be something for group players but all we got this summer is the rehash of the crappy Nightlife event (I took a trip over to see how busy it was and there were 10 guys in total in 1 instance – complete disaster Bioware).
If Bioware are going down the road of regular content, that’s exactly what they HAVE to deliver.
Most importantly – for ALL the player base.

        • Sorrai

I hear you. I’m fairly certain it all boils down, as usual, to budget and EA’s agenda with Anthem. I try to keep that in perspective and take things in stride. 2018 will most likely be regarded as a thin year for SWTOR. I did love the Nathema FP, though. It was beautiful. One of the coolest designs I’ve seen in the game. Funny enough, though, I’ve only ran through it once. I’ll eventually get around to farming it for decos but I haven’t made it a priority. I was disappointed the Nightlife event didn’t offer new prizes. That would have been enough incentive for me. As it stands I’m totally burned out on mindlessly clicking on slot machines. My rotten luck had me stuck at that thing for several weeks until I finally scored a Gamorrean companion. It took about 10 million credits. I now have 170 Golden certificates in my inventory with nothing left to buy. When it comes to new content I try to keep one thing in mind: It takes weeks and months for developers to plan and produce new content and it usually takes players a few hours to gobble it up. When you compound that formula with a limited budget and staff, you have a dev team that is only capable of dispensing morsels of new stuff to a player base that is expecting a buffet. I have my share of concerns for SWTOR’s future, like many others. My hope is that once Anthem is released we’ll start seeing more resources returning to SWTOR again and maybe 2019 will be a more productive year. All we can do is wait and see. In the meantime, I’m content. I RP and like to blow people up in Starfighter so I’m easy to please.

    • EyesOfGehenna .

It’s not taboo, I think it’s the best they can do with what little resources they still have. What bothers me is how poor the hook placement is in this place. If I were to play still I’d decide against getting this SH because as a fervent decorator this is no good. Too many open spaces without hooks and too many narrow hooks.

I think the size is cool for RP’ers though. For PvP, the two zones could’ve been pretty cool but also there the hook placement sucks. But fresh new content is too much for them to do now. They won’t be able to push out more than the occasional FP as we’ve seen recently and 6.0 will also be limited in new content I suspect. That train SH also sucked by the way.

I wouldn’t be surprised though if they only had a handful of people left taking care of this game. That seems to be consistent with what the game is getting.

    • abaddonsmummy

If it’s going to look ‘Rishi’ they’re obviously going to use previous areas we know to get that feel.
      Seems logical.
The bigger question here is that at this point in time when we’re screaming for more content we get…….a fecking stronghold and NOTHING else??
      Are they kidding?

      • Fubarz

Nope this is the Summer of PvP!!! That is all they promised and it’s late coming out like normal. The Rpers and Rppvpers should love the Rishi SH…. BW Austin will say that 6.0 will be out in Nov/ Dec in time for winter (most likely). LOL who really knows what they will do.

        • Robbie Martin

I wouldn’t be surprised if this troll on pub fleet was telling the truth when he said 6.0 is just going to be an update that makes swtor an offline game, then once all the kinks are ironed out, should take about 4 months, swtor as an mmo will be no more.

          • Rompe Himself

Oh if only!!!! Then the peeps who make repacks of WOW, Aion, BSO and STO can make a true offline version of SWTOR where we can go back to the 3.0 era of SWTOR (Oricon).

            • Fubarz

Would not Disney and EA put a stop to that, unless they are in control and will make profit from it?

            • Robbie Martin

If I was the man in charge, swtor wouldn’t have been an mmo instead we would of had kotor 3-7. The only thing different to what we have now is No pvp or fleet. Everything else including Operations would be in the game as solo content. If that Troll was telling the truth, than that is what we would end up getting once the servers shut down.

              • Jerry Chaney

They couldn’t get the license to make KoTOR 3 let alone 3-7

      • Rompe Himself

What? They can’t just develop a new section for Rishi without stealing from the Ravagers Op?? The look of Rishi is established. It isn’t hard to create new sections when the look is already established. But no, this is just what we have come to expect now from BW Austin – short cuts and recycling and calling it new content.

And you ask why another stronghold? Simple – The whales who have to have every stronghold. Unlocking rooms in the new stronghold equals cartel coins. Papa EA must have those cartel coins!!

And remember, this is what your sub is paying for. Content? What content? STO is putting out a new expansion, and yet these fools at BW Austin still will not say whether 6.0 is an expansion or just another tiny slice of content as they have been doing since KOTFE, which is what I am betting on it being.

It won’t be long now Abaddonsmummy before you too wash your hands of this insulting bullshit and only Andryah is all that is left in the game, and even at that point, she will still claim the game is healthy and in a great position lol.

  • Fred Garvin

“Lots of opportunities for player created content”

Because somebody has to do it.

I see Keith is hiding again. Probably busy playing WoW and couldn’t be bothered. Trying to get those last minute goals done before the new expansion launches soon.
