GW2 Warclaw Update Pushed to March 5 Due to Layoffs

The GW2 Warclaw mount update pushed to March 5 due to the mass layoffs at Arenanet.

Last week, we announced the upcoming release of our new WvW mount, the Warclaw. Unfortunately, this release will be delayed until Tuesday, March 5. In light of current events at the studio, we are taking this time to focus on our friends and colleagues. We hope you understand and we apologize for this delay. Thank you for your continued support of Guild Wars 2.

GW2 took 150-200 people to make. It now has 300 people.

The effect on the work force was giving everybody a day and a half off. There was also some Scotch Whiskey and Bourbon provided by an outgoing writer.

LOL. You’re overlooking the years it took for those 150-200 people to make GW2. The updates with 300 people were far more frequent than that, and are about to become less so.

Its not like GW is NC softs only game. larger team. but more spread out.

yes that may be the reason for THIS release. bot over time this move is still going to have a negative effect on GW2.

Or better said, the fact this is needed means the negative effects on GW2 have already started way before.

you misunderstand, its not affecting work its a personal issue. The layoffs spoken on are on the marketing and publishing side of the team, regardless Theyd rather run a normal work day than a patch day so soon after this. You wouldnt want to put the stress of a release day of a patch on top of all those emotions of seeing some friends leave the company
a week of grieving of sorts.

May not be the reason for THIS release. but for all other future content its going to be detrimental anyway. Bigger work force, But not all for GW2, They have other games as well.

I think they wrote something along the lines that it won’t affect the GW2 service, I understood it simply that they will continue to support the game, maintain its servers, and continue the release of LS. But nothing they wrote, to me, indicated that GW2 would be completely unaffected, my main worry is that there will not be updates beyond LS, and they will update the structure into maintenance mode. (not the best, but also not the worst possible outcome). However, will wait and see, its anyone’s guess.

🙁
have you guy lay-off whoever designed the countless butt cap too? Please do
And the guy who design legendary light armour?

I hope your ignorant ass gets laid off in your burger flipping job Shing, and then you’ll know how much of a dick headed statement you just made is.

check your reply record before acting like a saint lol, my word is harsh but not as harsh as yours. I apologises if I offended your buttcape obsession, but please don’t assume I work in a burger flipping job like you.
according to what you have said:
“Lol this game’s balance is fucking bad it’s pathetic, pretty easy fix too separate the skills into PvP and PvE so you don’t upset the balance on both game modes but Anet’s balance team is made up of freshly off the short bus community living retards.”

The Fashion Troll “Paul Ella” with his offensive Legendary Medium design and shit justification behind why buttcapes exist was among the ones to leave Anet so hopefully that can lead to improvements with armor/outfit design..

Yeah when underwater combat is a major aspect (and an original selling point) to the game. This is one of the few MMOs it would suit a practical role in the world beyond just looks yet they never add them.

So do we assume that the next episode of Living World will be delayed as well? That would be unfortunate with how the last one ended on a cliffhanger and SAB that will last from 4 to 6 weeks is getting closer.

ill copy paste because im not writting this again:

The eve online community actually pulled that off once. Did a large fund raiser to buy the entire company pizza. No mass staff layoffs at the time though.
