List of items contained within SWTOR Archon’s Contraband Pack provided on swtor.com. This pack is scheduled to be released with patch 2.2 on June 12.

Archon’s Contraband Pack

The Archon’s Contraband Pack contains a diverse mix of all your favorite types of Cartel Market loot. Mount lovers will rejoice at the six possible mounts contained in the pack, including the Aratech Lux and Blur holo-augmented speeders. Our line of “Relaxed” gear continues with the Relaxed Vestments Armor Set, which looks great on both male and female characters, while the Calo Nord Armor Set expands our lore gear collection. This will also be the first pack that includes Dye Modules, in the form of six new color combinations exclusive to the Archon’s Contraband Pack. For those wishing to delve into Star Wars lore, the Archon’s pack introduces an all-new type of Cartel Market item: Encrypted Datacubes. Collect all 8 Datacubes in the shipment (there will be 4 more in the upcoming Supreme Mogul’s Contraband Pack) for a special reward. Finally, we’ve made some general changes to the pack based on your feedback, which include the addition of Grade 9 crafting materials, increased drop rates for Cartel Market Certificates, and re-useable (rather than consumable) Jawagrams!

Eric Musco, Jeff Hickman (Executive Producer) , and Bruce (Senior Producer)

Bruce: Focus of Game update 2.2 is guilds – exciting new endgame content, endgame crafting, and guild bonuses. The centerpiece of 2.2 is nightmare contents. Nightmare TFB will be with 2.2 and four weeks later we are releasing Nightmare S&V with 2.2.2. Patch 2.2 is not going live tomorrow (June 11).

Patch 2.2 will be this week.

Jeff: We hate to make a promise we can’t keep. The development process is very fluid but we are trying to be transparent as we can.

Double XP weekends coming up – June 22 – July 7. We want to support you staying inside during the heat wave.

Patch 2.3 – August 6 but we will not launch until it is quality. New flashpoints, new recurring event (Level 15+ to participate, brand new event you havn’t seen before), new daily area, new graphical upgrades.

Gree event increased to 55, hoping to add Nightmare mode. Bolster for L50 characters.

Cantina tours: Giving exclusive materials to players to come to these – SWTOR thumb drive with new assets and information not available to anyone else about Patch 2.3 and beyond.

Facebook tab –> Events to see all the Cantina Tours.

Q: At end of S&V, when you defeat the dread master, can we expect these remaining 5?

A: We are definitely not done with the Dread Masters. That is all that we can say before I get shot by people behind camera with crossbows.

Q: When is cross server PvP coming?

A: Cross server queueing is very challenging so it is something we can currently working on. The root problem is queue times and we are using an aggressive move to resolve them in patch 2.4. Patch 2.4 will be the most significant PvP update since launch. If you are a ranked warzone players you will love it.

Q: Did Cathar sell well? New Species?

A: Cathar was pretty popular amongst the players. I think the answer is yes we will see a new species but I can’t give you a time on it. We have a list of 3 species that we are looking at. It is not going to be soon as it takes a looooong time to make a new speciies.

Q: What are you plans to make subscribers feel like valued customers?

A: We have heard this a lot, especially with patch 2.1. Subscribers are super important to us – a lot of you didn’t think so with patch 2.1. We are making efforts to make subscribers feel valued. In July, around weekend of July 4th, you will see subscriber only benefits. Near the end of July, we are going to do a similar thing.

Q: When we will see Grand Acqusition or Rakghoul event coming back?

A: New event in patch 2.3, that event is entirely new. Rakghoul plague is eliminated from the galaxy, there is no chance of another Rakghoul plague. The new event will be start the week after patch 2.3.

Rakghoul DNA, will we see a use for them should the event coming back? You might want to hold on to it, just in case.

Rakghoul Event is NOT Returning | 06.10.2013, 10:45 PM

Ahh sarcasm, you double edged blade. We suggested that it couldn’t possibly return because the plague has been contained. What are the odds, right? Truth is, we were all dripping with sarcasm, and just trying to have a bit of fun! Sorry for any resulting confusion.

So let me clarify: A resurgence of the Rakghoul plague is something we would like to do and is actually currently in the cards. But not within the near term set of updates.

Q: SSSP – Super Secret Space Project?

A: We never should have talked about it. Now it just sounds we are mean to you guys by not talking about it. Let me think about it before the meet and greet in 3 days. Let me see if I can give you something about it. Yes it exists and it is something we are doing specifically based on your feedback.

Q: /stuck in warzones?

A: In Patch 2.2.1, we have a change coming in for /stuck. If you are in combat and during a warzone, it forces a 20 second cooldown on you so you can’t rez right away.

That is for warzones only, not for all combat.

Q: When is the next time when Bruce will be featured in a SWTOR video? I enjoyed his appearance

A: Right now, here it is. We will be filming the next video tomorrow and I will be in it.

Q: Hood toogle

A: It is not off the table, it is one of the thing it would be great if we had build the game like that from the beginning. Doing that now is a lot of work. It doesn’t mean it is off the table, it is just in the list behind other issues. I am an old DAOC fan and I love my hood toogle.

More info on Patch 2.3 if you are going to the Los Angel meet and greet cantina tour. If you are old enough to drink, Jeff will buy you a drink.

Bolster

SWTOR Live Stream Event – Your Thoughts | 06.10.2013, 10:16 PM

Amber threw me some help on this one. Here are two Bolster bug fixes going live in Game Update 2.2:

Crit rating, accuracy rating, absorb rating, defense rating, and surge rating now respect diminishing returns for low level Bolstered characters.

The base damage and armor value granted by Bolster have been slightly increased to account to the most recent item power available to players.

Also we currently have two other bug fixes slated for 2.2.1, they aren’t locked in 100% as they are still in testing. But just to give you some idea around "when will Bolster be fixed?"
Hope that adds some clarity!

Main Differences from Hardmode

There are a couple new mechanics added to the Nightmare mode but they are sometimes not noticeable due to the lax enrage timer.

Phase 1: Laser Blast

The first thing you will notice are the big yellow circles surrounding the pillar that Kephess is connected to. If you had a hard time spotting which pillar to run to previously, the big yellow circle made it much easier. The idea here is that Kephess won’t get the stacking debuff that increases your damage on him during and after Laser Blast unless he is inside the yellow circle (as long one of his feet is inside the circle it seems to work).

Another mechanic associated with the yellow circles is that tanks seem to lose aggro while inside the yellow circle which makes it hard sometimes to get Kephess inside the circle as the tank leading him can lose threat if they run head first into the yellow circle.

Phase 2: Nanities

There are two minor changes for phase 2

Kephess have a longer delay between jumps. If you were waiting to click on the pillar after Kephess lands from a jump, this strat may not work too well in Nightmare mode. The extra delay may cause some deaths.

Pillars now get destroyed as soon as the first person that clicks it finished channeling. Previously in hardmode you could sort of cheese it by having some players click it later and it won’t get destroyed until the last person finishes or stop channeling. For most guilds this really isn’t a noticeable change unless you have players that are slow in clicking the pillars.

Reminder of Hardmode mechanics

If you are not familiar with the hardmode mechanics, here is a quick brush up for you. For a more detailed guide, please consult this guide.

Phase 1

Tank on Kephess will receive a debuff and will need to cleanse it by running to the big glowy circle on the ground. Tank swap is needed when this happens.

Energy Distortions will spawn in the room and tag whoever is closest to them. Once they tag a player, only they can destroy that Energy Distortion. DPS should try to get these distortions but if a tank gets it they can remove It running to the glowy circle when they have the debuff from Kephess.

Kephess is connected to a pillar by a beam overhead. Tanks will need to drag Kephess to this pillar. Kephess will call out a random raid member and focus his Laser Blast on them. This player will need to run to this pillar so that Kephess is directly facing the pillar. Each time the Laser Blast hit the pillar, Kephess will get a stacking debuff (up to 4 stacks) that increase the damage the raid can do to him for a few seconds.

Phase 2

Dread Bomb: One player will get targeted by a red circle when Kephess lifts off in the air. Kephess will land on that player and deal quite abit of damage. Other raid members will need to get away from that player.

Corrupted Nanites: Kephess will throw out Corrupted Nanites on random raid members that can be only cleansed by clicking on a pillar and channel an ability. Finishing or canceling the channel will destroy the pillar. If Kephess is near the pillar when it is destroyed, he will get knocked down and receive a debuff that increases raid damage on him.

Radioactive Barrage: One random raid member will receive Radioactive Barrage, a ground attack that follows the targeted player. The said player will need to run away from rest of the raid while avoiding the Barrage.

Phase 3

This phase is triggered when Kephess reaches 10%. You should use the last pillar when Kephess is at 11-12% HP so that you can do some increased damage on Kephess to shorten the duration of this phase.

Nonstop circles on the ground and raidwide damage. You can get through this phase easily by having everyone stack on Kephess except the tanks who will receive most of the circles and can kite those around.

Main Differences from Hardmode

This fight is tightly tuned for nightmare with a very tight DPS check that forces you to utilize different strategies from hardmode in order to meet enrage.

Phase 1 – Tentacles and Larva

Unlike hardmode, Tunneling Tentacles on on nightmare mode have a very tight enrage timer of around 1 minute. In addition, tanks can no longer simply soak up the damage from exploding Unstable Larva adds carelessly as the explosion hits for about 51k damage if these Larva get near the tank.

This two factors means that you want to burn the tentacles down as fast as possible to ensure that you only spawn one set of Unstable Larva adds (Larva spawn based on a timer). Having to split DPS with a second set of Unstable Larva adds can cause some issues as you have to decide if you want to kill adds first while risking tentacles enrage or killing tentacles first and then risk having to deal with these adds during Birthing. If your DPS isn’t ideal, try to at least burn one tentacles down quick so you may only get one add instead of two when the second set of Unstable Larva spawns.

When you get to the third set of Tunneling Tentacles, you can ignore and dodge the second set of Unstable Larvas as your raid should get pulled into phase 2.

Phase 2 – Hypergate Alacrity , Inconsistency and tight enrage.

The Grasping Tentacles in Nightmare mode gain a stacking buff called Hypergate Alacrity with every Slam that decreases the cast time of their Slam attack by 0.25 seconds every stack. This means that the longer you take to kill the tentacles, the faster their Slam attack will be, serving as an additional DPS check mechanic.

Each Grasping Tentacle spawn Hypergate Anomalies at 70% and 25% of their HP. This means that for every pair of tentacles, you will get four anomalies. To help meet the tight enrage check on the boss and deal with Hypergate Alacrity buff on the tentacles, it is advised that you have 1 DPS killing the two anomalies that spawn from the first tentacle of every pair while rest of the DPS stay on the first tentacle. . For the second tentacle, have all four DPS on the tentacle and ignore the last two anomalies that spawn. The two anomalies will despawn once both tentacles are killed. This way, you are not wasting any DPS on killing unnecessary anomalies.

Keep in mind that when you are on the 3rd pair of tentacles and the fight is about to transition to Furious Tantrum phase, you must kill all four anomalies to reduce incoming damage during Furious Tantrum.

Lastly, at 50% of each Grasping Tentacle’s HP, they will cast a new ability called Creating Inconsistency. This will spawn a Hypergate Inconsistency orb always at the exact same platform. The player at the platform closest to the entrance) will receive a debuff called Inconsistency (healing received by 80%) and a green line beaming them to the Inconsistency Orb. This player will need to run to the orb to remove their debuff and the orb. This debuff it is probably meant for the tank who is coming to the entrance platform to remove their Scream debuff but if you put a healer there, they will get this debuff instead and can deal with it instead of the tanks.

Phase 3 – Furious Tantrum

Not much change from hardmode but you will probably enter this phase with the boss enraged or close to enrage. Make sure you kill off all four anomalies from the last pair of tentacles and use cooldowns. If the boss is enraged, it will one shot the tank so make sure to have a healer on the entrance platform with a battle rez ready to get them back into the fight as needed.

Reminder of Hardmode mechanics

If you are not familiar with the hardmode mechanics, here is a quick brush up for you. For a more detailed guide, please consult this guide.

Phase 1

Split your raid into two groups to deal with the Tunneling Tentacles. Tentacles have a frontal atttack (Slam) and will need to be tanked away from the group. Additionally, you will want to damage both tentacles equally to deal maximum damage to the boss.

One player in each group will also need to stand a bit far away so that they are the recipient of Acid Spit. They also need to position themselves properly to avoid getting slammed from the boss itself.

Unstable Larva spawn from the back on a timer. These guys will beam for the tank and explode unless DPS kills them first.

Hypergate Beacon will spawn and pull a random raid member to them. If the the Beacon pulls the same person more than 3-4 times, they will killed so DPS those down quick,

Once both tentacles are killed, Birthing occurs to spawn a bunch of adds that everyone need to avoid.

After 3 pairs of Tunneling Tentacles, the boss will pull everyone in for phase 2.

Phase 2

Tanks will need their own platforms to tank the boss as he will drop spit on the tank, rendering the platform unusable. Additionally, the boss have a channeled Scream attack that deals a lot of damage and leaves a debuff on the tank that deals increased damage. Tank swap is needed here and the tank with the debuff will need to head to the entrance platform to clear their debuff.

Pair of Grasping Tentacles spawn and will need to be killed by the DPS while avoiding their Slam attack. These tentacles will also spawn Hypergate Anomalies at 70% and 25% of their HP on random platforms that will need to be killed.

Once the pair of Grasping Tentacles are killed, Hypergate Irregularity spawns on most platforms and will need to be killed.

Once three pairs of Grasping Tentacles are killed, the boss enters Furious Tantrum phase

Phase 3

During Furious Tantrum, the boss drops aggro frequently and will attack random raid members. Tanks will need to keep taunting to get their aggro back. This phase is mostly a DPS race before the damage overcome the healers.
