Hey everyone, UI customization is a brand new feature bundled with patch 1.2. It is definitely something that should have been here since launch but as they say, it is better to be late than never! Most of the customization options are fairly simple and self-explanatory but I still want go over it with you in case there are some hidden gems you might have missed!
Hey everyone, patch 1.2 will roll around soon (estimates for its deployment are early –mid April). This means that you have maybe about 1-3 weeks to be prepared for 1.2. What is there to prepare you ask? Plenty of things! If you are a huge overachiever, the next few weeks you will be quite busy!
Hey everyone, one of the major features that is coming up in patch 1.2 is the Legacy system! For those not knowing what the Legacy system is, it is essentially a set of levels that every character in your account on the same server can contribute towards to. More Legacy levels will unlock cool new rewards. Think of it as a way to reward you for playing your alts! The Legacy system is cross-faction, so that means both your Empire and Republic characters are part of it. Unfortunately, the Legacy system are a per-server basis only – so that means your characters on other servers will not be part of the Legacy family you have on another server. With no server transfer in place anytime soon, this is certainly a huge bummer for people with multiple characters on multiple servers.
Hey everyone, with the coming of patch 1.2 in early April and the arrival of ranked Warzones, there has being a huge surge of interest in PvP. For many people who are not avid PvPers or keep up with the latest development on the Public Test Server (PTS), it can be confusing to know the PvP gearing changes in 1.2. This guide hopes to demystify all that and provide you with a comprehensive overview of the PvP gearing process in 1.2 and detailed stat comparisons between different PvP sets.
Update: March 29 – Latest update PTS saw a minor cost increase to Battlemaster and a small cost increase to War Hero armor (increase of 200-400 Ranked Warzone Commendations per piece)
Hey everyone, your old Champion/Battlemaster/Centurion are no longer being used in patch 1.2. They do not disappear, you just can’t use them to purchase armor anymore (they are no longer obtainable either). So the question is – what are they being used for now?
March 27: As of march 27 PTS patch, the exchange change between Warzone and Mercenary Commendations is now 10 Mercenary Commendations for 10 Warzone commendations. (Previously it was 30 Mercenary Commendations for 10 Warzone Commendations)
March 29: As of March 29 PTS march, Ranked Warzone Commendations can no longer be exchanged for normal Warzone Commendations (i.e. you can’t skip unranked warzones now in your PvP gear progresssion)
March 29: New expertise Crystals added to the PvP items vendor, price for Longspur Recon changed to 1500 Warzone Commendations
Are you one of those people farming orange bracers/belts for your characters? Or maybe you are a marauder/sentinel and wondering why there isn’t any orange bacers/belts for you! Have no fear! Legacy vendors are coming in 1.2 and they will solve all your problems! (ok maybe not all).
Something that is new in 1.2 is the introduction of class icons! These are icons on top of yourself and other player’s head that will tell you what class/advanced class they are. This was done for the ease of identification of player classes since in 1.2 many players will be wearing orange custom armors due the ability to completely remove mods from endgame gears!
Hey everyone, I went on the PTS after 1.2 went live and took screenshots of all the new tier endgame PvP/PvE armors. The first two pictures are just showing you the new models while the next couple will show you all the color variations possible within a class. There are currently 2 color variations for the PvE set and 4 color variations for the PvP set (unrated & rated, different in just color, no stats difference).
Hey everyone, you all probably already seen the advanced class distribution graph shown at the guild summit (the number markings were not too accurate and has being corrected for use in the inforgraphic below). Alratan @ sithwarrior.com suggested to me that it might be nice to have a relative advanced class ratio based on that – in an infographic format. So here is the result of that idea!
Hey everyone, recently I was asked by my friends at askmrrobot.com (home of the excellent SWTOR armory & item database) to write up a quick guide on how the endgame PvP currency in SWTOR works. If you are not PvPing consistently and keeping track of the patch notes, it is fairly easy to get lost in the many changes of the PvP currency system since SWTOR’s launch. Rather than writing a post filled with text, I thought it might be a good place to use an infographic to present the information.
